A 75-YEAR-OLD model who’s never had Botox has revealed the £2 Temu buy she swears by to stay looking young.

Penelope Tree first made a name for herself in the 1960s, and has enjoyed a resurgence of success in recent years – walking the runway for Fendi and Richard Quinn and appearing in a star-studded ad campaign to mark Zara’s 50th anniversary.

And while she used to be “obsessed” with her appearance when she was younger, she’s now “more interested in what’s going on” around her.

She’s also “not trying to prove anything” by undergoing cosmetic procedures to maintain a flawless facade.

“You just have to accept the inevitability of ageing. I don’t really see what’s wrong with it!” she told the MailOnline.

“And I don’t like hospitals or the idea of being fiddled with in a surgical way.

“Also, repeated plastic surgery does tend to make people look like replicants (bioengineered humanoids).”

Instead, she prefers a more natural way of reducing the look of her wrinkles – anti-ageing face tapes.

The adhesive tapes have threads attached, which can be pulled and secured discreetly around the head to make the face look more taut.

And they won’t set you back anywhere near as much as Botox either, as you can pick them up for just £2 on Temu.

“Now my currency is being alive, interested and curious.

“I just leave it to the hairdressers and the make-up artists to make me look as good as I can, which isn’t easy!”

As for her fashion sense, Penelope loves “statement jewellery”, which said makes older people “look fabulous”.

And she loves shopping at the “affordable and fabulous” Zara.

“I wear an orange Zara suit every summer and it’s the most complimented outfit I’ve ever worn in my life!” she admitted.

I go away a lot, and one thing that’s hard to avoid when you’re often packing and unpacking, is creased clothes.

My clothes steamer comes in handy all the time – it’s not fancy or branded, and costs just £21 on Amazon.

Working in an office means needing my clothes to be crease-free, and with plenty of linen and cotton in my summer wardrobe, this can feel like a neverending cycle.

I got fed up of ironing years ago, and decided to replace my most hated chore with an easier solution.

Performance

The handheld steamer couldn’t be easier to use – all you have to do is pull out the water tank and fill it with tap water.

Then, you just press the power button at the back and wait a few seconds for the steam to start up.

I find the easiest way to steam an item of clothing is by hanging it up on a doorway, and then I can run the steamer down it in lines, until all the creases have gone.

You don’t get the exact same finish as with an iron (clothes aren’t as crisp), however it does get the majority of wrinkles out, in more than half the time.

Not only does it do the job, but it also avoids having to lug an ironing board out of the cupboard.

Plus, my main two issues with ironing are solved – it’s near-on impossible to burn something with the steamer, and I don’t have to worry about creasing one side.

For best results, I’d recommend leaving the clothes hanging up for a while after steaming, just to let any leftover creases drop out – but I do sometimes use it in a hurry too.

The steamer can also be used horizontally on flat surfaces like tablecloths and even soft furnishings.

If, like me, you’re often packing a suitcase for a staycation or holiday, the steamer is fairly compact, so you could take it with you to use when you arrive.

I’ve never encountered any leaking when using the steamer, but it is best to switch it off as soon as you stop using it, to avoid damp surfaces.

It also works better on some fabrics than others – I would avoid using it for woollen or wool-effect clothes, as they can soak up the moisture.

People swear by ‘simple’ packing hack for ‘no creases’ and ‘more space’

The ‘game-changing’ hack is popular with travel fans because it helps prevent creases

A woman has revealed a “game-changing” packing trick that prevents wrinkles so you can look fabulous on holiday. The popular technique was showcased in a TikTok video shared by womenswear brand Sophie Cameron Davies.

Taking to social media, @sophiecamerondavies revealed why it’s worth investing a bit more time when packing your case to save hassle during your break. The caption read: “If your suitcase is full of floaty dresses, silk pieces or anything remotely crease-prone, try this.

“No more steaming out wrinkles for half your holiday. It’s simple, space-saving, and actually works.

“Save this one – your future self will thank you.” As shown in the clip, the trick requires holidaymakers to fold their garments, ensuring they stay flat within the suitcase.

Sophie explained: “Lay your clothes completely flat, don’t roll or overfold. Fill the full width of your suitcase right into the corners, and fold only once or twice max to avoid deep creases.

“Then just lay each piece on top of the other like a stack. It keeps everything smooth and compact, so simple but game-changing.” The clip has garnered more than 600,000 views, along with thousands of likes.

It also inspired commenters to share their preferred approach, and it appears many people swear by Sophie’s method. One enthusiast of the packing technique wrote: “I have packed like this for years and it’s honestly a game changer!

“Less folds = more space.” Another commenter shared their positive experience, writing: “I’ve been doing this more recently!

“So much better!” A third person revealed: “I always pack like this – never have to iron.”

Adding to the praise, someone mentioned: “I’ve always done this and left them on hangers too. So once I arrive, hang straight up.”

A social media user replied: “I do this too ….makes unpacking at hotel sooooo much easier.” Some people offered their own twist on the idea, like one who said: “I use the other side for clothes as it’s flat and the side you have put the clothes in I use for toiletries and shoes, swimwear etc .. it works no creases.”

Another viewer added: “I do this but I lay each piece flat hanging from the sides. Lay items on top then flip the sides inwards and secure it.”

However, not everyone was convinced by the packing hack. In response to a sceptic who said: “Then when you stand the case up everything will fall down,” someone defended the method but highlighted a different criticism, saying: “No, it doesn’t.

“I’ve packed like this – just a pain looking for things when arriving at destination.” Others expressed a preference for using packing cubes instead, reports the Express.

One such response read: “I swear by packing cubes, makes everything so much easier.” A fan agreed: “Same, family of 6, everyone has a set of their own colour cubes – makes life so much easier.”

The commenter replied: “Aren’t they just brilliant. I wouldn’t ever not use them now.”

However, someone else wrote: “They take up way more space though. I always lay clothes flat (or as flat as I can) and get more space out of the case.”

Longest-living people swear by ‘Hara Hachi Bu’ dieting trick – what you need to know

Unfortunately, this dietary rule is particularly unfavourable for those who want to eat three large meals daily

Italy, Japan, and Costa Rica might appear very different on the surface, but they are actually connected by a surprising common trait. These countries boast three of the globe’s six exclusive ‘Blue Zones’ where inhabitants are reportedly 10 times more likely to live to 100 than anywhere in the United States.

However, not living in these longevity hubs isn’t a reason to despair. A potentially game-changing key to the residents’ long lives has recently been revealed—it’s all about a strict practice called the ‘80% trick’ or ‘Hara Hachi Bu.’

This dietary rule is particularly unfavourable for those who want to eat three large meals daily. People in Blue Zones usually have a small meal later in the day, deliberately stopping at about 80% fullness, hence the name of the rule.

It’s said this practice helps prevent the common ‘food coma’ feelings that can occur after overeating, while also enabling residents to stay active throughout the day. It is mainly practised by Okinawans on one of Japan’s smallest islands, as noted by Blue Zones explorer Dan Buettner.

According to a previous Mirror report, he wrote online: “The secret to eating in moderation in the long run is emulating the environment and habits of the Okinawan people. There is a significant calorie gap between when an American says, ‘I’m full’ and an Okinawan says, ‘I’m no longer hungry’.”

Previous research suggests that they exist in a ‘calorie deficit’, consuming only 1,900 calories instead of the usual 2,000 to 2,500, which is associated with a reduced risk of diseases related to ageing.

These views are echoed by Dr Deborah Lee, a GP at Dr Fox Pharmacy, too. She told the Mirror that eating less may even help to reduce ageing.

“Imagine what 80% of your meal would look like, and aim to leave 20% behind,” she said previously. “Calorie restriction is believed to slow the ageing process. Eating less lowers the metabolic rate.

“With less metabolic processes underway, less oxidation is taking place. Oxidative stress probably underpins the development of many of the chronic diseases we see today – heart disease, cancer, type-2 diabetes and dementia.”

Dr Lee suggested that eating slowly can help one adhere to the 80% rule. Research supports this theory, with a 2012 study indicating that slower eating is associated with increased satisfaction and less hunger between meals.

She continued: “Nutritionists believe that when you look at your plate, if you eat mindfully, eating slowly and chewing every mouthful thoroughly, you can feel satisfied by eating only 80% of that is on your plate.

“The diet has many benefits. You don’t have to count calories, and no foods are absolutely forbidden. It can fit in with your work and social schedule. You are still eating large amounts of healthy foods and getting good nutrition.”

Bloating: Foods to eat and avoid

Eating the right foods can prevent bloating as well as reduce when it occurs.

But it depends entirely on what your symptoms are.

If you are bloated and constipated, eat:

  • Fruits and vegetables
  • Bran flakes
  • Oats
  • Skin-on potatoes
  • Dried fruits such as apricots and raisins

If you have trapped wind, avoid:

  • Cabbage and other cruciferous vegetables such as broccoli and kale
  • Beans (baked, kidney, butter)
  • Lentils

These foods, including pulses like beans and lentils, are good to add into the diet slowly as they are high in fibre.

While they are not advisable to help in the moment, they do help in the long-run by boosting gut health.

Try adding them slowly into your diet.

If you are bloated with diarrhoea, you may have a stomach bug and should eat:

  • Plain foods: bananas, white rice, bread or toast
  • Boiled potatoes
  • Oatmeal
  • Small and frequent meals

Other tips for preventing bloating are:

US PGA Championship 2025: Tyrrell Hatton & Shane Lowry swear in outbursts at Quail Hollow

On Thursday, some players at Quail Hollow – including world number one Scottie Scheffler – complained about mud balls, where golf balls get covered in mud and dirt during bad weather.

Preferred lies – a rule sometimes used during periods of adverse weather that permits players to lift, clean and place their ball within a specified distance of its original position on closely-mown areas – were not sanctioned for use by the PGA of America.

Lowry’s tee shot on the eighth hole pitched on the fairway and bounced sideways into a divot left by another player, which meant he was not allowed the relief for an embedded ball that would have applied had it been in his own pitch mark.

“You hit a lovely tee shot, you’re not expecting that,” said world number 10 Lowry.

“I was obviously very annoyed with that because I felt like I had quite a bit of momentum going in the round, and standing there with 40 or 50 yards to the pin off the fairway it’s an easy pitch shot for me – and I walk away making bogey.”

Lowry was particularly unhappy with the unsolicited input of an on-course reporter, adding: “The ESPN guy was a bit too involved when he wasn’t asked to be and that’s what annoyed me a lot.

“He came straight over and said: ‘That’s not your pitch mark.’ That’s not for you to talk about, it’s for me to call a rules official and decide what happens.

“I wasn’t arguing that it was my pitch mark, I was trying to be 100% sure because imagine if I come in [after the round] and all of a sudden somebody told me that was my pitch mark.

“They told Brooks [Koepka] his ball was OK yesterday and it was on the driving range, so you need to be careful about what you’re doing because there’s so much at stake.”
