How Justin Trudeau made ‘subtle nod’ to Katy Perry romance with his Halloween costume

KATY Perry’s new love Justin Trudeau was seen making a “subtle nod” to their new romance with his Halloween costume.

Katy, 41, and former Canadian Prime Minister Justin, 53, were first linked together in July, shortly after her split from Orlando Bloom, 48.

Since then things have been heating up between the new couple, which included them being spotted kissing on her yacht earlier this month..

Now, in sweet nod to his new girlfriend, Justin paid homage to her with his Halloween costume.

Sharing an Instagram post of his spooky outfit, he was dressed as a shark while his son Hadrien, 11, as a wounded surfer.

He wrote: “Ready for Halloween with Hadrien!”

Justin added: “We built the costume together – a little father-son Halloween teamwork.”

What was great about the costume is that it is a sweet nod to Katy’s Super Bowl halftime performance in 2015, when the backup dancers became a meme in their shark outfits.

GOING PUBLIC

Justin’s Halloween costume comes just days after he seen out in public with Katy for the first time – as they left a strip club.

The pair stepped out together in Paris last weekend for the singer’s birthday

On Saturday, they looked smitten with each other and in struggled to keep their eyes off each other.

The birthday girl was seen adoringly glancing over at Justin while the exited the venue, while carrying red roses in her hands.

In a video from the moment the pair were snapped, paparazzi serenaded Katy as they crooned “Happy Birthday” to celebrate her 41st birthday.

Earlier this month, Katy, who has been on her Lifetimes world tour, took to the stage in London when she broke her silence on the romance rumours with Justin.

Addressing the crowd, the pop star said: “London, England, you’re like this on a Monday night after a whole day at work and a whole day at school?

“No wonder I fall for Englishmen all the time… but not anymore.”

The quip came days after photos emerged of Katy and Justin kissing aboard her 78ft yacht, the Caravelle, off the coast of Santa Barbara, California.

In the snaps, a shirtless Trudeau could be seen with his hand on the star’s bottom as the two shared a private moment.

Sources told The Sun the pair have been secretly dating since the start of the summer

“They haven’t been able to spend a lot of time together as she’s on tour, but they’re constantly in contact — always FaceTiming and messaging each other,” an insider said.

BUDDING ROMANCE

The Sun revealed earlier this month that the pair are “constantly in contact” after they went public with their romance.

Relationship rumours began to swirl in July after singer Katy and Justin were seen dining together at the swanky Le Violon restaurant in Montreal, Canada.

It came a month after Katy announced she had split from Brit actor Orlando.

At the time, neither Katy nor Justin commented on the romance claims.

Fans noticed at the start of the performance that Yungblud showed the cameras his gold cross necklace and kissed it before heading onto the stage.

They then recognized the piece as the exact necklace that had been gifted to the young artist by Ozzy himself before his death.

Viewers pointed out the connection on social media.

“Dom playing crazy train with the necklace ozzy gave him still on,” one person wrote on X, while others shared they got emotional over the touching tribute.

During a red carpet interview with E! News before the show, Yungblud flashed the momentum and said Ozzy was “here with me” throughout the night.

A FOREVER BOND

Ozzy acted as a mentor to Yungblud in the final years of his life and presented the cross necklace to him at the heavy metal star’s final concert this past summer.

The Crazy Train singer also received a special message from his son, Jack Osbourne, and grandkids, in a touching video played before the performance.

Ozzy died on July 22 from “acute myocardial infarction” and “out of hospital cardiac arrest,” per the former TV star’s death certificate.

He was laid to rest next to the lake in his Buckinghamshire home days later, with his friends and family in attendance.

The Osbournes alum had been battling numerous health conditions in recent years, including Parkinson’s Disease.

His wife, Sharon Osbourne, stayed close by the Black Sabbath star’s side throughout his health struggles, and was in tears at his funeral service.

Also in attendance were his son, Jack, his daughters, Kelly and Aimee, and a number of celebrity pals, including Marilyn Manson, Elton John, and his Black Sabbath bandmates.

Yungblud was also there to say his final goodbyes to the Dreamer singer.

“I didn’t think you would leave so soon the last time we met you were so full of life and your laugh filled up the room,” Yungblud wrote in a touching Instagram post the day Ozzy died.

WILDEST MOMENTS IN VMAS HISTORY

Madonna’s Like a Virgin performance (1984): The controversial performance at the first-ever VMAs launched her into superstardom and established the awards show as a venue for bold pop culture moments.

Britney Spears, Madonna, and Christina Aguilera kiss (2003): During a medley that showcased Britney and Christina in wedding gowns, Madonna kissed them both. But it was Britney and Madge locking lips that was the kiss seen around the world. The moment was especially shocking when the camera cut to Britney’s then-boyfriend, Justin Timberlake, whose stunned reaction seemed disapproving.

Kanye West interrupts Taylor Swift (2009): After Taylor, 19, won the award for Best Female Video, Kanye, 32, rushed onto the stage and infamously declared that Beyoncé had the “best video of all time” for Single Ladies and deserved the award instead. This was the beginning of a decades-long feud between Kanye and Taylor, which continues to this day.

Lil Mama crashes the stage (2009): In the middle of Jay-Z and Alicia Keys’ performance of Empire State of Mind, Lip Gloss rapper Lil Mama inexplicably walked up, despite being held back by Beyonce. She posed alongside Jay-Z and Alicia as she invited herself into the performance. She posed on stage with them at the end, despite Lil Mama not being a part of the song or the performance.

Lady Gaga’s meat dress (2010): The pop star wore a dress, hat, and shoes made entirely out of raw flank steak. She later explained the outfit was a protest against the military’s “don’t ask, don’t tell” policy, stating it symbolized fighting for your rights or ending up “meat on your bones”.

Beyoncé’s pregnancy reveal (2011): At the end of her performance of Love on Top, Beyoncé unbuttoned her blazer and rubbed her belly, confirming her first pregnancy to the world. Her husband, Jay Z, watched from the crowd and celebrated with the audience.

Nicki Minaj vs. Miley Cyrus (2015): While accepting the award for Best Hip-Hop Video, Nicki called out Miley Cyrus, who was hosting that year, by asking, “Miley, what’s good?” Nicki later claimed she was genuinely upset with Miley due to comments she had recently made in an interview.

“But as it is written with legends, they seem to know the things that we don’t. I will never forget you – you will be in every single note I sing and with me every single time I walk on stage.”

He also mentioned the necklace, calling it “the most precious thing I own,” and that he was “heartbroken” over losing the music legend.

Princess Andre takes subtle double swipe at mum Katie Price with candid confession

Princess Andre has appeared to take subtle swipes at mum Katie Price after the former glamour model criticised producers of her new show, The Princess Diaries

Princess Andre has appeared to take subtle swipes at mum Katie Price as she continues to carve her own showbiz career. In her new documentary series, The Princess Diaries, the teen is showcasing her blossoming career, but the show has opted against airing Katie’s role in her daughter’s life.

Instead, dad Peter Andre is a mainstay in the production, showing his close bond with his eldest daughter. And in the latest edition, Princess, 18, has confessed to the things she will never do that her mum did.

Speaking to the cameras for the ITV show, Princess admitted she would never do glamour modelling like her mum did. The revelation came as Princess took part in a photoshoot to mark her 18th birthday.

As she wore a number of different outfits for the shoot, including a very sheer robe, Princess looked back at her mum’s success in front of the camera. She said her shoot reminded her of her mum Katie, 47, and her campaigns over the years.

However, she admitted: “But obviously she did topless. And I would not do topless.”

She later revealed how she goes to her stepmum for advice. Princess lives with her dad and Emily Andre and their kids and added: “I feel like, if I’m ever in a situation that I don’t want to talk to dad about, I’ll speak to Ems about it.”

It comes after Princess had revealed the impact her mum’s split from Kieran Hayler had on her. Katie, 47, married Kieran, 38, in 2013 but they separated five years later after he cheated on her, including with one of her “best friends”.

After saying she didn’t feel as though she recovered from the split, Kieran has since apologised. He said: “I am as sorry as I can be to Princess witnessing us go through such a horrible separation.

“Leaving them was one of the hardest things I ever had to do.”

Despite the turmoil and apparent swipes, Princess did gush over her friendship with her mum. Addressing rumours of a rift, Princess told Closer ‘there’s no rift’.

The teenager said: “At the end of the day, it’s my show – it’s not really about any of my parents. Mum was actually featured in it, it’s just that I live with my dad. There’s no rift between anyone.”

And on the show, she revealed: “I love her, she’s like my best friend.”

Princess made her modelling debut last year with PrettyLittleThings. She has now moved into the reality TV spectrum in her own light and the influencer is set to make thousands and take after her famous parents by becoming a reality star.

The Chinese stance on the Moroccan Sahara shifts from neutrality to subtle backing of sovereignty

The Moroccan Sahara dispute is one of the most persistent and complex regional conflicts in North Africa, lasting over forty years. This ongoing disagreement involves the Kingdom of Morocco and the Polisario Front, which is supported by Algeria. The conflict centers on sovereignty, territorial integrity, and national identity, making it a highly sensitive and crucial issue for regional stability.

In this ongoing dispute, China’s role as an emerging global power and a permanent member of the United Nations Security Council is particularly significant. China’s involvement is strategically important due to its increasing influence in international affairs and its promotion of a multilateral approach to global stability. As a result, China’s position on the Sahara issue holds critical strategic importance, not only for Morocco but also for the broader regional and international community.

Recently, Moroccan scholars and researchers have been actively examining and questioning China’s stance on the Sahara conflict. They ask whether China recognizes the autonomy plan proposed by Morocco in 2007 as a valid political solution. There is also an ongoing debate about whether the Chinese Communist Party holds a neutral position or leans toward supporting one side. These questions are important because they influence how Morocco and its allies perceive China’s diplomatic approach.

Furthermore, experts are eager to determine China’s official stance on Morocco’s sovereignty over its southern territories. Given China’s foreign policy focus on non-interference and respect for territorial integrity, the analysis assesses whether China follows these principles in this situation or if its actions suggest a departure. Overall, China’s changing position in this dispute has significant implications for regional stability and the future diplomatic landscape of North Africa.

First: The evolving strategic landscape of Moroccan-Chinese relations

Since the announcement of the strategic partnership between Morocco and China in May 2016, bilateral relations have experienced significant growth across various sectors. These include the economy, infrastructure development, energy projects, technological progress, and higher education initiatives. Morocco also actively participated in China’s ambitious “Belt and Road” initiative, which aims to enhance connectivity and foster economic cooperation among participating countries. Through this involvement, Morocco has established itself as a key financial partner for Beijing in North and West Africa, strengthening regional ties.

This expanding cooperation and engagement have transformed Morocco into a strategic launchpad for China’s broader strategy in Africa. The partnership has enhanced the country’s international reputation, presenting Morocco as a stable, open, and welcoming partner for foreign investment and diplomacy. Furthermore, this strengthened relationship has indirectly influenced China’s stance on the Moroccan Sahara issue, where China has adopted a more cautious, pragmatic, and balanced approach, demonstrating a deeper diplomatic understanding and respect for regional sensitivities.

Second: China’s stance on the Moroccan Sahara issue

China’s official position at the United Nations is neutral, consistent with its traditional foreign policy principles of non-interference and respect for sovereignty and territorial integrity.

During discussions on extending the MINURSO mission’s mandate, China emphasizes the need for a realistic, lasting, and mutually acceptable political solution. It advocates for the “continuation of dialogue” between the involved parties, refrains from harsh language toward Morocco, and seeks to maintain a balanced tone while not recognizing the Polisario Front as a sovereign state. Although this position seems “neutral,” it implicitly supports Morocco’s sovereignty.

Third: China’s position on the Moroccan autonomy proposal

In 2007, Morocco proposed its autonomy initiative as a practical political solution within the framework of national sovereignty for the ongoing conflict, and this initiative gained support from many major countries in Africa, as well as in the Arab and Western worlds, including France, the United States, Britain, Germany, and Spain.

Regarding China, it did not explicitly support or oppose the initiative but expressed indirect approval, noting that it “contributes positively to international efforts to find a solution to the conflict.” Since then, China has not opposed the Moroccan proposal but has shown tacit acceptance, especially when calling for “realistic and viable” solutions.

Fourth: Factors Affecting China’s Position

Many key factors and influences shape China’s stance on the Moroccan Sahara issue.

The principle of sovereignty and national territorial integrity: China rejects any efforts at secession, as it faces similar challenges within its territory, such as those in Taiwan, Hong Kong, and Tibet. Therefore, it tends to support countries that uphold their territorial integrity, although it has not explicitly stated this.

Relations with Algeria: Despite the increasing closeness between China and Morocco, Algeria remains a key energy partner for China, especially in the gas sector. This leads China to carefully balance its diplomatic efforts to protect its interests with both countries. Investing in regional stability: China believes that regional stability benefits its economic interests, so it prefers peaceful and stable solutions to disputes without supporting separatist movements that could cause chaos or armed conflicts.

Fifth: Is China’s stance shifting?

This question poses a challenge for researchers and those interested in the Moroccan Sahara conflict, as increasing signs suggest a possible gradual shift in China’s stance in the years to come.

– Growing Chinese trade and investments in Morocco, including the Mohammed VI Smart City project, the Atlantic port in Nador, and solar energy initiatives.

– Enhancing strategic visits and high-level diplomatic meetings between China and Morocco.

– China’s diplomatic language, like “realistic solution” and “viable political solution,” hints at autonomy and is a key reference for the Moroccan autonomy proposal.

– China’s ties with the West, especially the U.S., are weakening, pushing China to build and diversify its alliances in the Global South, including with Morocco.

In conclusion, it can be said that the Chinese Communist Party’s approach to the Moroccan Sahara issue is marked by a kind of “thought-out neutrality,” balancing core principles of Chinese foreign policy with increasing strategic interests in Morocco. Despite China’s public commitment to the policy of “neutrality,” its diplomatic and economic actions imply implicit support for Morocco’s sovereignty over its deserts, or at least a practical acceptance of the autonomy initiative. Therefore, in light of international geopolitical shifts, Morocco has a strategic opportunity to strengthen its ties with Beijing and convince it that supporting the autonomy proposal does not conflict with its political and diplomatic principles but aligns with its vision of global stability.

The film was a success when it was released in 1995

A quintessential adaptation of a timeless Jane Austen novel is now available to watch, reports the Daily Express.

Initially released in 1995, the film garnered widespread critical acclaim, with numerous critics hailing it as one of the finest Austen adaptations ever made.

One IMDb reviewer titled their post: “A classic for all time.”

They continued: “Whoever says they just don’t make the quality of pictures today that they used to hasn’t seen or is ignoring this film.”

A second reviewer described the film as “a subtle masterpiece”, stating: “I saw this movie in a cinema back in 1996 and since that June I have seen it about a dozen times.”

“It is true, that being an ardent lover of the so-called Romantic (as if the 13th century couldn’t be Romantic or 17th, but these things are academic nonsense) period I can enjoy even minor pieces of period cinema, however this is most probably the best film set in the early 19th century.”

A third review, titled “Faithful, beautiful, enjoyable, one of the best film adaptations of period novels.”, read: “Normally period adaptations need at least a few hours to do proper justice. And so it is usually the television versions that are better for those who like things faithful to text. Film versions usually truncate and romanticise/Hollywoodise which can be frustrating.

“However, films have bigger budgets and better production values so are easier on the eye. However, this is a shining example of 2.5 hour film which packed so much detail in for a real complete sense of the novel, but also with great faithful performances, at the same time as being great to watch with all the production values and cinematography or a big budget movie. One of the better film adaptations of period pieces ever.”

Released amid a flurry of Jane Austen adaptations, the Hollywood hit Sense and Sensibility shared its release year with the BBC’s heralded Pride and Prejudice starring Colin Firth and Jennifer Ehle, as well as Persuasion featuring Amanda Root and Ciarán Hinds – not to mention the contemporary spin on Emma, Clueless, which became an instant hit.

Based on the classic 1811 novel by Jane Austen, Sense and Sensibility follows the Dashwood sisters, Elinor (played by Emma Thompson) and Marianne (Kate Winslet), who manifest two opposing approaches to love after facing sudden financial ruin.

The Jane Austen adaption won an Oscar for best writing(Image: COLUMBIA/TRISTAR)

With their fortune gone, the Dashwood sisters are forced to navigate society in search of suitable husbands to secure their futures, encountering numerous unexpected developments along the way.

The film boasted an impressive ensemble cast including the likes of Hugh Grant, Alan Rickman, Greg Wise, Gemma Jones, Dame Harriet Walter, James Fleet, Hugh Laurie, and Imelda Staunton.

The esteemed British actress, Thompson, not only starred in the film but also penned the screenplay, earning her an Oscar for Best Writing.

Both Thompson and Winslet bagged BAFTA Film Awards for their stellar performances in Sense and Sensibility.

Taiwanese filmmaker Ang Lee was brought on board to direct the movie, marking his international breakthrough. He later won Oscars for Brokeback Mountain and The Life of Pi.

Despite subsequent adaptations of Sense and Sensibility, including the BBC’s 2008 miniseries, this version is widely regarded as the pinnacle among Austen adaptations.

Love Island fans spot subtle clue Conor doesn’t like Toni in very telling move

Conor made a very telling comment that some Love Island fans have taken as a sign he doesn’t like Toni despite her praising him for his behaviour on the bombshell date

TONI, CONOR.
Love Island fans think it could be the end of Toni and Conor(Image: ITV)

Love Island viewers have picked up on a very telling move from Conor as to how he is really feeling about Toni. After the boys returned from meeting the bombshells, Toni took Conor for a chat where she praised him for being respectful.

He had a date with bombshell Emily but didn’t realise all the girls in the villa were watching their every move. Toni was pleasantly surprised with how Conor acted on the date despite them being coupled up.

She thanked him for how he spoke about her to Emily but did pull him up on his body language. Toni wasn’t pleased how he placed his arm on one of the three bombshells as they arrived to the boys drinks.

As they went to bed, it seemed everything was settled between the pair. However, in the morning fans noticed a very shady remark from Conor.

He made two cups of coffees in the kitchen, yet instead of giving it to Toni he walked over to Emily instead. Conor even quipped: “I don’t want to give it to Toni.”

After the very telling move, fans have predicted the end for Toni and Conor. One said: “Erm Conor wtf was that.” Another added: “Conor not making Toni a coffee and she singing his praises last night???? TF.”

Someone else commented: “Did conor fall off the bed in his sleep whats going on.” A fourth wrote: “Did Conor just say he doesn’t wna make Toni a coffee.”

“Excuse me? Why doesn’t Conor wanna make one for Toni? After she was so nice? Wtf,” asked a viewer. Another predicted: “I don’t think Conor likes Toni.”

The three bombshells include 24-year-old teaching assistant Malisha from Broxbourne, Commercial Banking Executive Yasmin, 24, and Insurance Development Executive Emily, 24, from Aberdeen.

The boys left the villa earlier in the day for drinks, but what they didn’t know was that the girls would be watching their every move on a giant TV back in the main villa. Shortly after they all established where they stood in their relationship, three new bombshells entered and caused a stir for the girls watching.

They then headed off on one-on-one dates with three of the boys as the original girls watched on. Tensions rose once again when they boys and the bombshells returned to the villa where they discovered they had been watched the whole time.

The boys weren’t happy, to say the least, about the girls being a fly on the wall during their chats, as Dejon fumed: “Boys chat stays in the boys chat!” However, it was all too late as the damage had already been done.
