Pregnant Dianne Buswell says she ‘can’t deal’ after her Strictly Come Dancing co-star left her on the verge of tears.
The professional dancer is taking part in the competition this year alongside Neighbours icon Stefan Dennis, and the duo made their competition debut during the opening week last weekend, delivering a Foxtrot to the Neighbours Theme by Barry Crocker.
Following their performance, Stefan acknowledged there had been issues with the routine, but judge Anton Du Beke still praised it as a “brilliant effort”. However, judge Craig Revel Horwood went on the attack, stating that the dance had been “littered with mistakes”.
The actor, renowned for portraying Neighbours’ Paul Robinson for four decades, and defending champion Dianne, who is expecting her first child, delivered an 80s-themed cha cha to Give It Up by KC And The Sunshine Band, earning 17 points.
Last month, Dianne announced that she is expecting her first baby – a boy – with her partner Joe Sugg. The Australian dancer and the YouTuber first crossed paths on Strictly in 2018 when they were partnered together for that series.
The expectant parents shared the news through a charming video, accompanied by Elton John’s ‘Tiny Dancer’, which showed them creating a painting that depicted themselves as stick figures with a smaller one between them to symbolise their baby.
Dianne and Joe have subsequently been inundated with messages of affection, with Dianne also receiving presents whilst working on Strictly at Elstree Studios.
On Saturday, Dianne posted on social media, revealing she had been given a tiny cardigan that was delivered to the studio after her pregnancy reveal.
Accompanying the image, which displayed the miniature piece of handcrafted knitwear, the Australian performer shared a series of tearful face emojis before writing: “This was sent to the studio today and I cannot deal. It’s so small.”
During the latest live programme, she returned to her social media account and alongside a selfie with Strictly colleague Neil Jones, in which she could be seen pouting with an emotional expression, Dianne displayed the gift. Displaying a miniature pair of Adidas trainers, Dianne wrote: “Nah I can’t deal thank you Uncle Jonsey [face holding back tears and heart emojis] @mr_njonesofficial @joe_sugg.”
She also revealed another parcel containing tiny baby socks decorated with teddy bears. “And then these from uncle @ciaranfoley [face holding back tears and heart emojis] @joe_sugg. This lille boy is already so loved and lucky. Thank you [face holding back tears and heart emojis].”
THE first celebrity eliminated from Strictly Come Dancing has been revealed.

After landing near the bottom of the leaderboard, Thomas ended up facing off against former England rugby star Chris Robshaw and his partner Nadiya Bychkova, in the dance-off.
All four judges opted to save Chris and kick Thomas out of the competition.
Speaking about his time on the show, Skinner said: “I’ve loved it. I’ve never danced before and my stay was short, but Amy’s amazing.
“It’s been great fun and I’ve enjoyed it. I can’t really dance that well but I’ve had fun! Thank you, Amy – sorry that we haven’t done too good, ’cause you’re a different class.”
The news leaked late on Saturday night after Sunday’s episode was recorded.
Viewers were delighted with the result with one writing: “The strictly spoiler results have absolutely made my evening. I can sleep well now. #Strictly #StrictlyComeDancing”
A second said: “If the spoiler I just saw is true I cheered so loud thank you British public thank you Strictly.”
Another added: “Absolutely the right result!! Good job for once public!!”
The judges’ decision came after the couples’ scores from week one and two were added to the public vote.
It came after Skinner, who has made his name as a social media star, ended Saturday’s show with a joint score of 29, having scored just 13 for his performance.
Strictly’s Thomas Skinner hits back after he’s ridiculed over Bonkers performance to Dizzee Rascal hit
Dowden added of her time with Skinner: “I’ve got to know the real Tom and he is adorable. He’s looked after me.
“We’ve laughed so much. We’ve worked so hard and a glitterball would have been amazing, but what I’ve learnt in the last few years is happiness, health and being alive is more important than anything. I’ve made a new friend for life and I wouldn’t change a thing.
“There is a ballroom boy in there, so I’m a bit gutted he didn’t get to do the ballroom, but the last three years, as you know, have been quite difficult for me.
“I lost all confidence as a dancer – but walking into the room with you with a massive smile and a laugh, you brought me back and, honestly, thank you.”

It comes after Skinner hit the headlines after he admitted to cheating on his wife just weeks after their wedding in an interview with The Sun, having previously apologised for picking up a journalist’s phone and walking out of a press event for Strictly midway through.
The remaining 14 couples will take to the dancefloor next week for movie week when Strictly Come Dancing returns at 6.05pm on Saturday October 11, on BBC One and iPlayer.
Strictly Come Dancing professional Nadiya Bychkova – who is partnered with rugby player Chris Robshaw – has spoken out about celebrity contestants with prior dance experience

Strictly Come Dancing star Nadiya Bychkova has said that it’s “really sad” to see celebrities with no dance experience leave the competition early, adding that it “helps a lot” if they’ve danced before.
The 36-year-old is currently partnered on Strictly with rugby union player Chris Robshaw, with the pair on the lower end of the scoreboard after their first two dances. Last year, Nadiya was paired up with Olympic diver Tom Dean, who was the first star to be eliminated on the 2024 series.
Speaking ahead of tonight’s results show, Nadiya said that Strictly is for “people who have never danced”. She told The Sun: “We often don’t see it because people who don’t have experience would sometimes leave the show earlier, which is really sad as there’s so much talent.
“It’s nice for the audience to see that it’s possible to learn, but you do need to put in the work, which Chris is doing every day.” She added that that doesn’t apply only to Chris but any contestant who doesn’t have “performance experience”.
She continued: “When you’re trained to be in the moment, to tell the story, you know how to show something — that helps a lot.” As for how Chris is finding the experience, Nadiya said that he’s absorbing all the information and needs a few more weeks to get to a comfortable level of performing which “you can’t get overnight”.
It comes after West End performer Amber Davies topped the scoreboard in last night’s show after wowing the judges with her Samba to Camila Cabello and Ed Sheeran’s Bam Bam. The judges awarded her a score of 29, giving her a one-point lead when combined with the 27 she received for her Waltz last weekend.
Just behind her on the scoreboard is Emmerdale’s Lewis Cope – who also has dance experience – after his high-scoring Viennese waltz to Teddy Swims’ Lose Control. Meanwhile, TikTok star and surprise frontrunner George Clarke is in third place after scoring a 30 for his Paso dobe to Game of Survival by Ruelle.
Chris Robshaw’s wife Camilla Kerslake took to social media earlier this week to brand letting those with dance experience compete as “unfair”. Love Island winner Amber Gill posted on social media her “unpopular opinion”, writing: ” I think having people with so much dance experience is unfair.”
Camilla then responded by commenting: “The experience differences are absolutely wild. Definitely.”
After the first live show, she praised her rugby star husband on Instagram, writing: “Proud forever. Up against people with years of experience when you’ve never even done a 2 step, opening the whole season and starting with one of the hardest dances going.
“They tested you HARD. You and [Nadiya] blew me, and the crowd away. Definitely some lessons for next week but you were absolutely astonishing. I couldn’t hold it together at all. We love you [Chris]. Team #SeeQuins. Let’s GOOOOOO #Strictly #StrictlyComeDancing. Slide 5 of my first time meeting [Vicky Pattison] is something special.”
Strictly Come Dancing viewers were left unimpressed as one pro dancer came under fire for making a pointed remark about fellow contestants
Strictly Come Dancing viewers divided as La Voix makes savage dig towards at co-stars(Image: BBC)
A Strictly Come Dancing celebrity has caused a stir after appearing to take a swipe at her fellow contestants over their previous dance training.
The beloved BBC dance competition returned this evening (October 4) with the second live show of the series, hosted by Tess Daly and Claudia Winkleman.
New celebrities took to the floor to display their moves before judges Shirley Ballas, Anton Du Beke, Motsi Mabuse, and Craig Revel Horwood, ahead of Sunday’s first elimination.
Opening tonight’s programme was La Voix with professional partner Aljaž Skorjanec, delivering a jive routine. But La Voix soon found herself under fire for her comments about rival contestants from the opening week.
Speaking about her co-stars from last week, she praised their performance as “incredible,” before adding: “One’s an athlete, one was doing tap in Billy Elliot, all I’ve done is JD Sports once a week, and the only tap I know is in Screwfix, it’s terrible, Claudia.”
But her comments failed to impress viewers at home. Writing on X, one fan remarked: “Not sure I like the little dig at other contestants there, especially as a performer on stage – hmm.”
A second added: “La Voix throwing clear shade at Amber and Lewis, referencing their previous dance experience. That’s not going to go down well.”
Another viewer commented: “La Voix saying that she did a great jive last week because she’s an athlete. No La Voix. She did it well because she’s got Lioness grit and determination!”.
And another chimed in: “Yes, La Voix calling out the hypocrisy of having trained dancers on the show!” La Voix is known for her witty remarks on the programme, with fans eagerly awaiting her next one-liner. She even had a go at Tess’s outfit tonight as the host wore a bold red suit.
After their performance, Tess said, “One thing’s for sure, you still know how to put on a show.” La Voix retorted: “Thank you, and you clearly used to work at Butlins.”
She added: “It catches on the red, it catches on.” One fan gushed online: “La Voix coming for Tess each week is so funny. She needs to make the final for this alone.” Another exclaimed: “La Voix might actually be the funniest thing to happen to this show, OMG.”
Tess wore a red power suit and let her blonde hair flow free. Claudia looked stylish in a glittering blazer whilst rocking her trademark fringe.
Immediately, viewers took to X to complain that they don’t get their own introduction. One wrote: “Okay…. no intros for Tess and Claudia” and another said: “So Tess and Claudia don’t get introduced anymore”
In agreement, a third viewer said: “I hate the way Tess and Claudia don’t get an intro now but the judges do!”
Chris Robshaw was a novice to dancing when he joined the Strictly Come Dancing line-up, but his partner Nadiya thinks he has what it takes to overcome the disadvantage

Former Rugby Union player, Chris Robshaw, 39, stepped out of his comfort zone when he signed up to BBC’s Strictly Come Dancing, having never danced in his life – except at his wedding.
This year, many have criticised the unfair advantage in dancing experience, with stars such as Amber Davies, 28, and Lewis Cope, 30, having performed in the West End.
However, Chris’ professional partner, Nadiya Bychkova, 36, thinks he has everything it takes to overcome the disadvantage. “Chris is taking all the information on board. He just needs a few more weeks to kind of get to the point, and then I think he’ll be really ready to perform the way I think he can to his full abilities,” she says.
“It’s the experience of knowing how to do that, which is completely new and which you can’t get overnight, but I think this is what the show is about, for people who never danced before.
“We often don’t get to see it because like people who don’t have this experience would sometimes leave the show earlier, which is really sad because there is often so much talent in there, and it’s always so nice for the audience to see it.”
“Proud forever. Up against people with years of experience when you’ve never even done a 2 step, opening the whole season and starting with one of the hardest dances going,” she penned.
Later, she responded to a comment from Love Island star Amber Gill, 28, who penned: “Unpopular opinion: I think having people with so much dance experience is unfair.”
Speaking on his wife’s comment, Chris said: “I love my wife and she’s my biggest supporter. She wants us to do well in the competition, and that’s kind of it really.”
On what he thinks of the range of dancing abilities, Chris added: “It is what it is, isn’t it? In SAS you could say I was fitter than some of the other people, and then that’s kind of it.”
Chris was forced to pull out of Celebrity SAS with a shoulder injury – but luckily has avoided any injuries during his time on Strictly.
This series was thrown into chaos when two contestants were forced to pull out before the first live show even started.
Just days after the line-up was announced, Game of Thrones star Kristian Nairn revealed he would be stepping back from the series due to unexpected medical reasons, which he said were a “high level of stress and a little bit of grief” that manifested physically.
Soon after, it was revealed that he’d be replaced by Emmerdale star Lewis Cope, who played the character Michael in the West End production of Billy Elliot: The Musical.
Then, just days before the live shows were about to start, Love Island’s Dani Dyer revealed she’d been forced to pull out due to a fractured ankle.
She was replaced with former Love Islander and West End star Amber Davies, who, with just days to practiced received an impressive 27/40 in her debut dance.
Craig Revel Horwood nearly slipped and fell on Saturday’s Strictly Come Dancing as he attempted his favourite routine and fans at home flooded social media with their reaction
Craig Revel Horwood nearly slipped and fell on Saturday’s Strictly Come Dancing. The professional dancer, 60, was back in his seat on the judging panel alongside Shirley Ballas, Motsi Mabuse and Anton Du Beke where he had spent much of the evening dishing out his typically-acerbic critique to celebrities like Thomas Skinner, Vicky Pattison and Ross King.
Just before Balvinder Sopal, who is known to fans of BBC soap EastEnders for playing Suki Panesar on the long-running programme, took to the stage, Craig leapt out of his seat once it became apparent that his ‘favourite’ routine was about to be performed. The TV star is a huge fan of the Charletson, and excitedly skipped around in front of the cameras.
Tess Daly was just about to introduce Balvinder to the stage, and laughed as Craig excitedly performed a few seconds of the famous routine. But the move didn’t necessarily go down too well with viewers at home as they noticed straight away that he almost lost his footing.
One fan wrote on X: “Craig being iconic but also nearly slipping there,” whilst another said: “Craig nearly slipping lmfaoooo” A third simply asked: “What the hell was that Craig?” whilst a fourth said: “Thought i was about to watch Craig faceplant onto the floor there for a sec.” Another added: “What was that all about with Craig? Really cringe & annoying, get back in your box mate!”
Balvinder then took to the stage alongside her professional partner Julian Caillon to perform the dance, all set to Been Like This by Meghan Trainor. They received a score of 30, made up of two sevens and two eights.
But Craig’s dancing moment wasn’t the only thing fans issued a complaint over during the second live show of this year’s series. As soon as the programme began, viewers took issue with the fact that presenters Claudia Winkleman and Tess Daly do not get their own introduction, even though the judges do.
One wrote: “Okay…..no intros for Tess and Claudia” and another said: “So Tess and Claudia don’t get introduced anymore” In agreement, a third viewer said: “I hate the way Tess and Claudia don’t get an intro now but the judges do!”
It was Amber Davies‘ night in the end, though, as the former Love Island winner and musical theatre star topped the leaderboard with a score of 56, when combining her scores from this week and the first week of the show.
To make things extra special for the West End actress, she celebrated her 29th birthday on Saturday and was surprised with a cake that came with a picture of her and her professional partner Kai Widdrington printed onto it. Just hours before the show, he surprised her with a large bouquet of flowers along with a Happy Birthday balloon.
The moment was captured on video, and Amber, who will star as Elle Woods in next year’s UK tour of Legally Blonde: The Musical, captioned the Instagram post saying: “Little me would never believe I would be celebrating my last birthday in my twenties on the Strictly ballroom dancefloor.”
She added: “Golden star for the most fab pro partner ever @nikita__kuzmin !!! He remembered guys best birthday EVER !!!! @bbcstrictly (he did infact say happy 40th birthday whilst handing me this gift..) Thank you so much for all the birthday love, time to celebrate with a SAMBAAAAA.”
And friends and family wasted no time in sending their best wishes to Amber. One person wrote: “Happy birthday beautiful!!! What a special day it’s going to be! The last year of your twenties is going to be the best
Meanwhile, It Takes Two’s roving reporter and former Strictly finalist Tasha Ghouri wrote: “Happy birthday lovely!! ” And Sue Davies, Amber’s mother, penned: “A very special birthday my girl love you so much .”
Strictly Come Dancing professional Amy Dowden has opened up about her cancer journey, admitting that it can be ‘very difficult’ and ‘worrying’ at times
Amy Dowden has opened up about a ‘difficult’ cancer moment(Image: BBC)
The Welsh dancer revealed she was initially scheduled for a lumpectomy after doctors discovered the tumour. This surgical procedure involves removing just the cancerous lumps and some surrounding tissue.
This led to doctors deciding she would need to undergo a full mastectomy. Speaking on the Breast Cancer Uncovered podcast, Amy confessed that making such quick decisions about your health can be “very difficult”.
She shared: “For me everything happened so quickly, at first I was having a lumpectomy and then after my MRI, there were more tumours so I needed a mastectomy, and all of a sudden you’re trying to make these decisions so quickly and you’re not really thinking rationally because you’re so emotional, it’s very difficult within the time.
“I do think it’s so important to be given all your options and to understand fully. I also didn’t know what I was going to wake up with, that’s quite worrying and scary as well.
“I didn’t know if it was going to wake up with it open or closed, I didn’t know if I was going to have an expander in, or an implant. Even going down to surgery, and I wanted the honesty, you don’t know what you are going to wake up with or what it’s going to look like.”
Amy’s cancer diagnosis forced her to sit out the 2023 series of Strictly following chemotherapy treatment.
In February last year, Amy revealed medics told her they discovered “no evidence of the disease” in her body, paving the way for her Strictly comeback.
She made her return to the programme a year ago, paired with JLS singer JB Gill. However, she was rushed to hospital in October, pulling out of the competition on November 4.
At the time, a Strictly spokesperson said: “Sadly, Amy Dowden MBE will not be partaking in the rest of the competition this year. While Amy focuses on her recovery following a foot injury, fellow professional dancer Lauren Oakley will step in as JB’s dance partner.
“The health and wellbeing of everyone involved in Strictly are always the utmost priority. The whole Strictly family sends Amy love and well wishes.”
Caerphilly-born Amy has made her comeback to the current series of Strictly, teamed up with former Apprentice hopeful Tom Skinner.
The reality TV personality said: “I’m beyond excited to be joining Strictly Come Dancing. I’ve tackled the boardroom and some big breakfasts in my time but stepping onto the dance floor under that glitter ball is next level stuff!
“I’ve never danced in my life (other than at weddings) but I’m ready to graft and of course have a laugh. Bring on the sequins, sambas and most importantly, the BOSH to the ballroom!”.
Ruth Langsford has opened up about her time on Strictly Come Dancing, admitting that she often felt ‘really rubbish’ and would ‘always burst into tears’ behind-the-scenes
Ruth Langsford admitted to ‘bursting into tears’ plenty of times during Strictly(Image:

)
Ruth Langsford has disclosed that whilst her former dance partner Anton Du Beke may appear to be “a laugh”, there’s another side to his character that Strictly Come Dancing fans might not recognise.
In an exclusive chat, the former This Morning presenter confessed that she frequently felt “really rubbish” backstage, as she measured herself against other competitors, including Debbie McGee and Gemma Atkinson, who had advanced to become “so good” on the dance floor.
Luckily, Ruth had the backing of Strictly professional-turned-judge Anton, who provided a shoulder to lean on during her difficult moments, describing their bond as “the best thing” to emerge from her time on the BBC programme.
The Loose Women host revealed: “I always want people to know that, Anton’s such a laugh – he’s laugh, laugh, laugh – but he’s the kindest man.”
Ruth added: “I was always bursting into tears as the show went on, because it gets hard and everyone’s so good, and then I would feel really rubbish because I would think, ‘I can’t do it’. And he’d go, ‘you’re fine’.”
“I felt like I was letting him down, but he never criticised me, he was just fun, and in fact, sometimes we’d do a step and he’d say, ‘that’s good’ and I’d go, ‘oh thanks’ and he’d say, ‘it’s not what I taught you, but it’s good!’ And he just made me laugh!”.
Ruth proceeded to disclose that Anton possessed the ideal technique to soothe her nerves when things weren’t working out in the rehearsal studio.
She remembered: “If he ever said, ‘no, no, because we’re supposed to be going right’, and then he’d look at me, and my bottom lip would start to tremble, and I’m about to cry, he’d be like, ‘right, come on, cup of tea!’ Honestly, the nicest man.”
Ruth was also brimming with praise for Anton’s abilities as part of Strictly’s judging panel, where he has been seated alongside Craig Revel Horwood, Shirley Ballas and Motsi Mabuse since 2021.
Nevertheless, Anton’s elevation on Strictly means he won’t be able to take part in the competition anymore, which Ruth believes is the sole drawback, as she would be keen to “have another go” with her mate alongside her.
She declared: “Let me have another go with Anton! I can’t now, because he’s a judge.
“I’m so delighted he’s a judge, he’s a very good judge, but I always say to him, ‘I think they should let you have another go, I think I’d be better at it!'”.
Ruth just missed out on reaching Blackpool with Anton in 2017, after facing the feared dance-off against Jonnie Peacock and Oti Mabuse, whilst Joe McFadden and Katya Jones ultimately claimed the Glitterball Trophy that year.
IT is often a shock when celebrities suddenly find themselves sprayed orange and squeezed into a skimpy outfit for Strictly.
But for proud Geordie Vicky Pattison it is not a problem, because that is how she has spent most Saturday nights since she was as a teenager.

For the TV star, getting dolled up to the nines every weekend is not being Strictlyfied, it is just being a lass from Newcastle.
Vicky, 37, said: “Everybody knows I’m super nervous about this entire process, I’m just a gobby girl from the north east doing her best.
“The dancing, the being out my comfort zone, learning something new, being judged by the public is also terrifying.
“But the one element that made me feel really excited and I had no reservations about at all was definitely being Strictlyfied.
“I’m sorry but the tan, the hair, the glam! I’ve been preparing for this for like 25 years.
“Like, I didn’t even have to change my fake tan routine at all — this girl was ready.”
Although Vicky, who is partnered on this series with pro Kai Widdrington, admits she likes a party her blind spot is actually the dancing.
She said: “I’ve joked that this is the first time I’ve danced sober but it’s probably not that far from the truth.
“You normally see me at people’s parties at the bar or chewing someone’s ear off in the kitchen. Definitely the last place you’d find me is on the dance floor.
“Everyone is gonna think I’m a novice — and they’d be right. But I am ready for a challenge and desperate to prove myself and some people wrong along the way.”
Vicky Pattison breaks down in tears as she reveals secret battle ahead of Strictly Come Dancing debut
‘Reality TV scum’
Vicky admits people constantly underestimate her and in the 14 years since she shot to fame on MTV series Geordie Shore, has always been a bit of an underdog.
Cynics would do well to remember she won that contest after a substantial public vote.
She said: “Winning the jungle was the best moment of my life, maybe tied with the day that I got married to Ercan.
“Everybody just wanted us out initially. Obviously I was in there and in me bubble and I’m actually really grateful for that, you know.
“But I learned afterwards everyone was like: ‘Get her out. We don’t want her in here. Reality TV scum blah, blah, blah.’

I’ve joked that this is the first time I’ve danced sober but it’s probably not that far from the truth. You normally see me at people’s parties at the bar . . . not on the dancefloor
“I don’t know what they thought I was gonna do like, go in there and down a Jaegerbomb and punch a kangaroo or something?
“I just wanted a chance to prove myself, to show people that I could be something different than what they’ve seen before.
“I just want to put my best SELF forward and within about 24 hours I was the favourite to win. I’m so proud of me achievement there.
“This is a very different ball game. I’m totally aware of that. But, like I say, I have always been the underdog and if people wanna get behind us, that is really nice.”
Although the public have yet to be fully won over by her dance on last week’s first live show, she finished in fifth place on the scoreboard — which is pretty impressive given she is one of 15 celebrities competing.
Meanwhile bookies Ladbrokes have her as favourite to win at 5/1, ahead of West End star Amber Davies and ex-footballer Karen Carney whose sensational jive saw her top the scoreboard last week.
Vicky said: “I can’t believe anyone would have us down as favourite in the lasses to win. I mean, have you seen the women in this competition? They’re all incredible.
“Amber’s amazing, did you see Kaz Carney’s jive on Saturday night? I mean, come on, that’s my winner right there!
“Bal is beautiful inside and out and just has so much rhythm. Alex is so theatrical and emotional when she dances it’s so beautiful.
“Ellie’s energy is infectious, just don’t even get us started on La Voix, you can’t look anywhere else when she’s on the stage.
“Maybe there’s a mistake there with those odds.”
Despite being up against the likes of Amber, who has appeared in 9 to 5 The Musical and stage show Back To The Future, plus Lewis Cope who was in the stage version of Billy Elliot, she feels no resentment.
Instead she adopts a more philosophical approach to the issue which pops up each series.
I don’t know what people thought I was gonna do in the jungle . . . like go in and down a Jaegerbomb and punch a kangaroo?
Vicky said: “Every year Strictly has people of different abilities, doesn’t it? Some people who have never danced before, totally inexperienced, and some people maybe did ballet before as kids, some people a bit more.
“I don’t think it’s a big problem. It’s part and parcel and there’s loads of different styles of dance isn’t there?
“Just because someone’s experienced in one, doesn’t mean they’re experienced in another.
“Also, I do think it’s nice for the viewers at home that they get to watch some really good dancers early doors, like you know when maybe the rest of us are just learning. There is some still really brilliant performances to watch and everyone goes on a journey.”

Vicky sees her journey continuing after she has completed Strictly, whether that is after this weekend’s first eviction, or after potentially making her way to the final.
But she admits wherever her career goes, it won’t be in dance. She said: “I honestly haven’t thought past getting through the first week.
“Like if I managed to stay in on Saturday I’ll be shocked and over the moon.
“I certainly haven’t got any Grand Designs on being a West End star or, you know, pivoting into the world of performing. There’s far more deserving and better people than me. I’m a big fan of Strictly, I’ve watched it since I was a kid.
“I watched it with me grandma — it was me grandma’s favourite. I think that’s why I’m doing it, great big tick off the bucket list.
“But I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t hoping it would take us to different opportunities.
“The BBC is British institution, it’s a great channel. I would love to make more TV with them so, yeah, maybe I am hoping it will lead to more things but probably not in the dance space to be totally honest.”
Vicky and Kai will be dancing a foxtrot to the track Rein Me In tonight, which has special meaning as its by Sam Fender who she describes as “a Geordie legend.”
She added: “I feel like I’ve got the weight of the world on my shoulders trying to do, like, all the Northeast proud, Ercan proud, Kai proud, myself and my family proud.
“I’m absolutely terrified. Everyone keeps saying like, ‘Oh do you feel a bit better now you’ve got the first show and the first live dance done?’ I’m like, no I’m not.
“I’m still nervous. I can actually go home you know. It’s just like we’re dancing for fun. It’s not even a pre-record, we’re live and I’m just not ready.
“I’m not ready to say goodbye to people. I’m not ready for this journey to be over so I actually feel sick to my stomach about it.
“By nature, I’m not a very confident person, despite appearances.”
Strictly Come Dancing is on BBC One today at 6.20pm.
Dani Dyer has opened up on how she feels watching fellow Love Island alumni Amber Davies join the cast of Strictly Come Dancing in her place following injury
Dani Dyer spoke about her Strictly exit(Image: YouTube)
Dani Dyer has admitted she found the first live Strictly Come Dancing show hard to watch at the weekend. The former Love Island star, 29, had been excited to be a part of the hit BBC contest, but injury forced her to quit in the week running up to the series starting.
Now, while chatting with her dad Danny Dyer on their Live and Let Dyers podcast, the reality TV star admitted she would love to go back next series. “My door is open,” she confessed. “If they want their door to be open then I’ll walk through their door.”
And talking about Amber Davies replacing her, she admitted she feels she will be amazing with Nikita Guzman. “Watching the launch show, they’re all so lovely,” she said before her dad asked how she felt.
“That was really hard,” she confessed. “Obviously seeing them, but obviously Amber’s come in and they’re going to be amazing together.
“I’m glad that Nikita’s actually got a partner because there was a chance he wouldn’t get a partner. It was just such a quick turnaround.”
She added: “Listen, I wish everyone the best, ” before confessing her love for Geordie Shore’s Vicky Pattison. “I’m so glad I met Vicky,” she gushed.
Dani also revealed during the chat that she felt she may have done something wrong in the world after injuring herself. It left her requiring the advice of her therapist for the first time since she met her husband Jarrod Bowen.
“He just put things into perspective for me,” she candidly revealed.
Speaking of how the injury occurred, dad Danny labelled it a “freak f***ing accident”. Dani then added: “Basically I fell and rolled my ankle and initially I heard a noise but I thought, ‘I think it’ll be fine’, but I came home on the weekend and iced it all, and they sent me for the MRI and it came back that there was a hairline fracture on my ankle, but it was my ligaments.”
“They said to me, the physio, if you have a grade one sprain, we can work with a grade one sprain, but one side of my ankle had a grade two sprain and the other side had a grade one.
“We went and got a second opinion, see the doctor, and I was like ‘What can we do? Physically do? Can you jab it, there’s got to be something’.”
But she admitted the Strictly bosses pulled the plug on her time, admitting they told her it wasn’t worth it. They explained she would be “in so much pain” if she was to continue.
Now, with Amber going in as one of the favourites, fans have been wondering if her call-up is fair due to her West End and dancing background.
Karen Carney shot to the top of the leaderboard on Strictly Come Dancing this weekend, with fans surprised by the footballer’s dance skills. Now it has been revealed Karen has a secret dance past

Footballer Karen Carney left Strictly Come Dancing fans stunned with her performance on the weekend. Karen and professional dance partner Carlos Gu’s Jive to One Way or Another wowed the audiences in the studio and at home.
In an old interview with the FA, she said: “I enjoyed football when I was a kid and had loads of kickabouts but I didn’t join my first club until I was 11. Until then, it was all about dancing for me.”
As part of her dance training, Karen would perfect her routines for three hours every Saturday and also revealed she took part in “big events” on a Sunday whilst she was at school in the week.
“When I got a bit older and my football matches switched to a Sunday, I had some choices to make,” she said, “I decided to give up dancing when I was 15. My agility, my strength, my power and how I move my feet during a match are all definitely down to dancing, 100 per cent. I was quite little but I was quite strong and that was because all the dancing made my muscles stronger.”
In an exclusive interview with OK!, Karen revealed she was keen to show a different side of her.
She said: “The challenge for me will be trying to show the real version of me, and not getting shy or awkward, or insular. A lot of people will have seen me in the football environment, and it’s quite intense. My feeling is that people perceive me in a certain way — that I’m very… serious. But that’s not really accurate!
“I want people to see the warm side of me. The kind, caring team player. I’m actually quite awkward, and nervous. But I’m also really daft and funny, and I probably just want to bring the other version of Karen, not the footballer Karen.
“Everyone I know who’s been on Strictly has told me not to be too hard on myself. If it was football, I’d be absolutely critical of myself, but this isn’t my thing, it’s the pros’ thing — and I’m humbled and privileged to be on the show.”
Karen has also become firm friends with her fellow Strictly stars, including Vicky Pattison. She revealed: “It’s just a lovely bunch this year. Vicky is so down-to-earth and she’s got really good energy,” she grins. “She always comes to me and says, ‘Are you OK?’ and I’m like, ‘Yes I’m OK, but are you OK?!’
“Ross King also cracks me up. He asked me to bring in a ball, so I said I’d bring in a mini ball, because it’ll keep me calm too, so we’ll be messing around and playing football when we can.”
Karen is now one of the favourites to win, with odds for the footballer rising from 16/1 to 5/1.
Claudia Winkleman is hosting The Celebrity Traitors with 19 famous faces all trying to win £100,000 for their chosen charity – but Claudia isn’t her usual bubbly self

Nineteen huge stars are taking part in The Celebrity Traitors – but all eyes will be on Claudia Winkleman’s fierce fashion choices. Wearing faux fur coats, structured layers and statement knitwear, Claudia has honed a look that’s all her own, and reinvented
it for the celebrity version. “It’s absolutely nuts,” says Claudia. “Unhinged in taffeta was where we went.”
Alan Carr, Cat Burns, Celia Imrie, Charlotte Church, Clare Balding, David Olusoga, Joe Marler, Joe Wilkinson, Jonathan Ross, Kate Garraway, Lucy Beaumont, Mark Bonnar, Nick Mohammed, Niko Omilana, Paloma Faith, Ruth Codd, Stephen Fry, Tameka Empson and Tom Daley are all signed up for the gothic game show, each vying to win £100,000 for their chosen charity.
It’s the spin-off fans have been begging for – but at first Strictly host Claudia was against the idea of yet another celebrity format. “I was scared,” she admits. “Only because I’m in love with this show and I wanted to keep it small. Once a year or maybe once every two years felt like enough. My bosses, thank goodness, ignored everything I said.”
When she saw the calibre of celebrity queuing up to play traitors and faithfuls, even Claudia had to agree the show was a good idea. Working with Stephen Fry was a dream come true for Claudia and bearded comic Joe Wilkinson left her especially starstruck. “I could barely breathe when I saw them all in the Highlands. I’m such a fan of every single one of them,” shares Claudia, 53.
“The whole team were just in awe, it was hard not to scream, ‘You’re here!’ When I talked to Stephen Fry I almost welled up, I told him this was my dream. We’re incredibly lucky to have the cast that we have. Each one of them is tremendous. My family and I are obsessed with Joe Wilkinson, I had to stop myself getting his autograph for my son.”
Claudia oversees the games on the show but admits she finds it a challenge not to get too chummy with the players. “The biggest challenge was being strict,” says Claudia. “All I wanted to do was chat and be friendly but my role is aloof and grumpy. I found it hard not to just sit down with them and have a cup of tea.”
And she finds the urge to help them with the missions overwhelming. “Sometimes I try and drop big clues, but my producer tells me off,” Claudia confesses.
To help her maintain her distance from the stars, Claudia channels two classic villains. “[I’m] Cruella de Vil with a touch of Miss Trunchbull!” she laughs.
Hosting such a huge show is a dream come true for Claudia, but she admits she found the celebrity version tougher than the main show. “It was scarier, because all I wanted to do was chat to them and make them like me,” she says. “But of course, I have to be extremely unlikeable. It was tricky!”
Claudia can’t praise the celebrity contestants enough for the energy they put into the show. “They’re incredibly smart and kind,” she says. “They play the game beautifully and were fully engulfed in it. It was an extraordinary experience and we’re so so lucky this 19 said yes. It’s something we never take for granted and are so grateful for.”
It was revealed during last night’s live show that there’s been a huge change to the way viewers can vote for their favourite celebrities and now fans have shared their thoughts
There’s a massive voting change on this year’s show(Image: BBC)
A huge voting change on Strictly Come Dancing has sparked fury among fans over fears it will alter the results. During last night’s (Saturday 27 September) first live show, host Claudia Winkleman revealed “this year it’s changing”.
Bringing in pro dancer Neil Jones to explain, he began: “This year for the first time on Strictly, vote will be online only,” before telling fans they would need to register for a BBC account to have their say.
In previous years, viewers at home have been able to call in or text to place their votes for their favourite stars but it looks like it’s all change this time around. Fans were understandably shocked by the news and took to X to share their frustrations.
One unhappy person expressed: “#StrictlyComeDancing #Strictly You have just alienated a huge part of your audience by getting rid of the phone vote. I cannot imagine my elderly mother & thousands like her, able to log on to register a vote on her favourite programme. Another strike against the elderly.”
Another viewer fumed: “So @bbcstrictly You’ve completely prevented any of the older generation that don’t possess a smart phone or computer from voting by making it online only. You should be ashamed #Strictly.”
Somebody else argued: “#Strictly very sad how exclusive voting is this year internet only. I have friends who have watched every series & always voted by phone. Not this year.
“They don’t have a smart phone or internet at home. I wonder how any others won’t be voting this year?”
While a fourth added: “Getting rid of the voting by phone is so wrong. I’m sure there are so many people who don’t have smartphones and who used to vote that way #Strictly.”
The voting change isn’t the only change that’s been incorporated onto the show this year, as head judge Shirley Ballas revealed at the end of the show.
For the last seven years, Shirley has been responsible for the gruelling decision of choosing which couple in the bottom two should leave if the votes are tied after the dance off.
However, now it’s been announced that the power is going to be shared between the four judges, with a different judge holding the power each week.
The change will start from next week, when the first couple will be eliminated from the series. As of yet, Strictly aren’t revealing which judge has the power, but the celebs are worried…
A video clip of the celebrities reacting to the news was played as Vicky Pattison said: “This changes everything!,” with Ross King adding: “I just can’t believe it!”
EastEnders star Balvinder Sopal says: “I was nervous, but this is another level,” and George Clarke expresses: “Is it too late to run away?”
Viewers at home were once again unimpressed by the changes on their favourite show as someone said: “i think would’ve made more sense for it to be down to the public vote instead of a different judge each week but okay,” while another commented: “I was hoping it would be a ‘public vote if the judges are tied’ but nope.”
Dancer Dianne Buswell announced she was expecting her first child with partner Joe Sugg earlier this month as she performed her first dance with Stefan Dennis on Saturday night

Strictly Come Dancing kicked off it’s first couples dances on last night’s show (Saturday 27 September) and one particular person who was glowing was pregnant dancer Dianne Buswell. She and her celebrity partner Stefan Dennis took to the dancefloor to perform a Foxtrot to the Neighbours theme song as she showed off her growing baby bump.
The Aussie native, 36, announced her pregnancy with partner Joe Sugg earlier this month and despite questions being raised about whether she would be able to still compete, Dianne proved she can do it all as she showed off her pregnancy glow.
For her performance, she wore a flowy blue dress with flower detailing and a v-neck, which perfectly held her growing baby bump. The pair received a score of 22 from the judges, putting them in eighth place on leaderboard out of the 15 contestants.
Dianne’s pregnancy didn’t go unmentioned on the live show as her co-stars flocked to congratulate her and make her feel special. Following their performance, host Tess Daly exclaimed: “Dianne, we can not let you leave the floor without saying congratulations.”
She responded gleefully: “Thank you so much! “That’s why we’re in blue tonight,” she laughed before saying: “Not really, but lets pretend!”
As she and Stefan made their way upstairs, Claudia Winkleman decided to throw her an impromptu baby shower. Pro dancer Neil Jones came out wearing an animal costume and she was presented with balloons, a teddy bear and some cupcakes.
Fans flocked to X to compliment the mum-to-be during the live show as one person gushed: “Dianne’s baby bump awwwww,” Another fan said: “Dianne’s baby bump. So happy for Dianne and Joe. They met on Strictly 7 years ago and now a baby is on the way.”
Somebody else commented: “Stefan and Dianne were incredible and Dianne looked so beautiful! And her little bump showing,” while a fourth added: “Love this when the #strictly cast congratulated Dianne on her baby news, she is going to be an amazing mum.”
Her baby bump television debut comes after vile trolls complained about seeing her pregnant on the show. One troll in particular wrote on social media: “I don’t want to see her dance being pregnant, it’s already feeling uncomfortable and she’s only starting to show. It’s really not appropriate.”
Dianne posted it on her Instagram story and responded: “”I can’t believe in 2025 things like this are still being said.”
Her fans rushed to her defence, with one writing: “Saw @diannebuswell’s story and just had to say something. Her dancing pregnant in Strictly this year is nothing short of beautiful and magical. Women’s bodies are INCREDIBLE and I don’t actually think people realise that.
“This will show all of those people who believe this weird twisted notion that women should hide away when they’re carrying a baby that women are capable of much more & can do anything.
“You’re inspirational and incredible. We as a family cannot wait to watch you doing what you love and were born to do again every weekend. And we will be cheering you on as always beautiful.” Dianne reposted the comment with a series of happy crying and heart emojis.
She makes history as the first ever dancer to be pregnant while competing on the BBC One show.
Strictly Come Dancing 2025 viewers think they have already worked out who will win the BBC series from the launch episode, months before the live final in December

Fans of Strictly Come Dancing think they’ve already cracked who will win the 2025 series as the launch show kicked off on Saturday.
As the new line-up hit the dance floor for the first time and performed for the judges, fans claimed to have spotted the winner. Just one performance in and months before the final in December, viewers picked out one pairing in particular that they say are “going to win”.
All of the new celebs and their professional dance partners hit the studio ballroom, having been introduced by hosts Tess Daly and Claudia Winkleman. As the judges had their say on their first routines and their skills so far, it was clear some pairs were doing better than others.
As the show continued, fans shared their thoughts on the “clear winner” and named Emmerdale’s Lewis Cope as their champion. Despite Amber Davies and footballer Karen Carney proving popular, it was Lewis’ week one routine that left fans convinced he’d be this year’s winner.
One fan posted on X: “Oh stop it!! Katya and Lewis, finalists init,” as another said: “Oh Lewis is gonna walk this series. Wow.” A third fan added: “Anyone else got a strange hunch the star of West End DANCE show Billy Elliot, Lewis Cope, might win in 2025?”
A further comment read: “I can deffo see Lewis winning this,” as another commented: “Lewis stole the show.” One fan said: “Do think Lewis has a good shot at this, final if not winner.”
Some viewers did believe Karen would be the winner though. One said: “Calling it now. Karen and Carlos to win.” Another agreed: “Karen Carney is literally gonna win strictly come dancing 2025 I’m so serious,” as another said: “Karen to win.”
It comes after the news Dani Dyer had to pull out of the show days before the first live episode. She shared a sweet message for her Strictly co-stars ahead of Saturday’s episode after being forced to leave the show earlier this week due to an injury.
It was announced on Tuesday that the 29-year-old would no longer be able to compete on the show after a fall during rehearsals led to her fracturing her ankle. However, despite not being able to take part, Dani has sent a message of support to her co-stars.
Taking to her Instagram stories, the mum-of-three wrote: “Good luck to all the gorgeous cast starting there Strictly journey tonight. Can’t wait to watch you all, so proud & know how hard you’ve all been working.. see you all soon.”
The official Strictly Come Dancing Instagram page revealed the sad news of Dani’s exit as they captioned it: “Unfortunately due to an injury Dani Dyer is no longer able to compete in #Strictly 2025. She’ll be sorely missed and we wish her a speedy recovery.”
DIANNE Buswell took to the Strictly floor for the first time tonight after hitting back at a troll who said her dancing while pregnant on the show made them ‘uncomfortable’.
The Strictly pro announced the happy news she is expecting her first baby with partner Joe Sugg earlier this month.

Her pregnancy hasn’t stopped Dianne taking part in the 2025 series, where she has been paired with Neighbours legend Stefan Dennis.
Tonight, the duo danced their first routine in the Strictly studio, a foxtrot to the Neighbours theme tune.
The couple scored one of the better scores of the night with 22, and Dianne then received a ’10-second baby shower’ from her Strictly family.
Neil Jones – dressed as a stork – brought on some gifts for her.
Dianne replied: “I love you all so much and thank you for being so supportive.”
While the majority of people have been supportive, some trolls have taken aim at Dianne for dancing while pregnant.
The message said: “I don’t want to see her dance being pregnant, it’s already feeling uncomfortable and she’s only starting to show. It’s really not appropriate.”
Shocked by the remark, Strictly favourite Dianne hit back: “I can’t believe in 2025 things like this are still being said.”
But while one troll tried to bring her down, another fan rushed to lift her up.

Fans called it “awkward” as Strictly Come Dancing‘s opening titles left out one star, hours after they replaced Dani Dyer.
Following the sad news this week that Love Island‘s Dani had to pull out of the series due to an injury, the star still appeared in the series’ opening credits. But someone noticeably missing was her replacement, fellow Love Island star Amber Davies.
Amber was confirmed to be taking on the show just days before the live launch, but fans noticed she did not appear with her co-stars in the titles – while she was there for the live show. Taking to X, fans shared their reaction to the “awkward” mishap.
One fan said: “Dani Dyer still on the opening credits and no Amber Davies… slightly awkward.” Another agreed: “Okay so they didn’t have time to put Amber in the titles yet.”
A third fan said: “Didn’t manage to edit the titles in time!” Another said: “Dani Dyer in the titles still.”

Dani said: “I had a fall on Friday in rehearsals and landed funny. I thought I had rolled my foot but it swelled up so badly over the weekend and after an MRI scan yesterday, it turns out I have fractured my ankle.
“Apparently doing the Quickstep on a fracture is not advisable and the doctors have said I am not allowed to dance, so I’ve had to pull out of the show.
“To say I’m heartbroken is the biggest understatement. I am so going to miss dancing with Nikita but will of course be watching closely and cheering all the couples on.”
Former England rugby captain Chris Robshaw has been married to classical crossover singer Camilla Kerslake since 2018, with the couple sharing two children together

The pair had been engaged for six years when they tied the knot. Classical crossover singer Camilla, 37, made headlines in 2009 when she became the first person to be signed by Gary Barlow’s record label.
She had performed for Queen Elizabeth II as well as performing the national anthem at Wembley and the-then Millennium Stadium. And while Camilla has been one of Chris’s supporters throughout his career, he admits she burst out in a fit of laughter when he told her he would be heading onto the dance floor.
Chris told Heat that Camilla knows “all about my dance moves” but revealed she later reassured the 39-year-old that she backed his decision.
He explained: “She was like, ‘Look, it’s a great opportunity. It’s amazing, so go and do it, we’ll support you’.”
Chris, who shares one-year-old Hunter and four-year-old Wilding with Camilla, says his eldest child has been excited by the news. “We’ve shown him the show, he loves the sparkles and the lights,” Chris explained.
And while Wilding “doesn’t quite understand” that his dad will be taking part in the show, Chris wanted him to see his dad stepping out of his comfort zone. The former flanker says it’s good to “really challenge yourself” at times.
Chris himself is no stranger to a challenge. As well as racking up 66 caps for England, he took part in Celebrity SAS: Who Dares Wins last year, although he had to withdraw due to injury.
Chris underwent surgery after a boxing match with Love Islander Ovie Soko. He said: “I had to get an operation. Because I’d popped my shoulder out the ligament was loose so it becomes like a catch which keeps opening. So they reattached the ligament to keep it in place.”
The ex-rugby star said he had experienced some shoulder problems towards the end of his playing career. Before taking part in Strictly, Chris joked that he hoped the BBC show would help him take his “dad dancing to a whole new level”.
He said: “This is about as far out of my comfort zone as it gets! I’m hoping to take my dad dancing to a whole new level, and my mum can’t wait to drag me along to her Zumba class. Let’s see if a rugby sidestep works in the Cha Cha Cha.”
Chris will be taking part in Strictly with professional dancer Nadiya Bychkova. Strictly Come Dancing will return to BBC One from 6.55pm today (September 27)
DANI Dyer has quit Strictly Come Dancing days before the live shows after injuring her ankle in training.
Dani’s exit dropped just as the cast was putting the final polish on their first live dances.
4
She had taken part in the launch show — filmed ahead of transmission — where her partnership with Nikita was revealed to viewers.
The plan was to hit the floor this weekend, but the fracture means she won’t make it to that first Saturday night.
It’s a tough blow for Dani and for Nikita, who was ready to kick off the series with a crowd-pleasing ballroom number.
Here’s what happened and where things stand with a replacement.
Why has Dani Dyer pulled out of Strictly 2025?
Dani suffered a nasty ankle injury during rehearsals and has been forced to withdraw on medical advice.
She fell during a Friday training session, her foot ballooned over the weekend, and a hospital scan confirmed a fracture, leaving doctors with no choice but to bench her for the series.
The timing is brutal, coming just days before the first live show after she’d already filmed the pre-recorded launch where her pro partner was revealed.
Dani Dyer chokes back tears and says ‘I’m so heartbroken’ as she quits social media after pulling out of Strictly
In an emotional update to fans, Dani explained that continuing would risk exacerbating the injury.
She’d been gearing up for a fast ballroom routine in week one, but admitted taking to the floor with a fracture simply wasn’t possible.
The Love Island winner said she was gutted to walk away so close to the live shows after throwing herself into training.
What did Dani say about quitting?
The TV favourite struggled to hold back tears as she confirmed her exit, calling it “heartbreaking” to bow out before she’d had the chance to perform live.
She also thanked viewers for their support and said she’d be cheering the remaining couples on from the sofa while she focused on healing up.
Dani was particularly disappointed not to get her shot with pro partner Nikita Kuzmin after their pairing was unveiled on the launch show, saying she’d hoped to make her mark on the ballroom this year.
What has Nikita Kuzmin said — and could Dani return?

Nikita broke his silence with a heartfelt message to fans and to Dani, praising her effort in the training room and saying he was proud of how hard she’d worked before the injury struck.
He admitted he was “gutted” to lose his celebrity partner so close to week one, and hinted he’d love the chance to dance with Dani in the future when she’s fit again.
In a further update, Nikita suggested the door isn’t closed on Dani appearing down the line in some capacity — whether that’s a studio visit later in the run or even a comeback in a future series once she’s fully recovered.
Is Dani Dyer being replaced?

Love Island winner Amber Davies is replacing Dani DyerCredit: Splash
The BBChas confirmed Amber Davies is stepping into the Strictly 2025 line-up after Dani Dyer’s shock withdrawal with a fractured ankle.
Amber won Love Island in 2017 and has since established a successful stage career, starring in West End hits such as 9 to 5: The Musical and Pretty Woman: The Musical.
Thrown straight in at the deep end, Amber will make her Strictly debut in the first live show on Saturday, September 27.
She and Nikita are set to perform a Waltz as they bid to get their scores on the board and settle those first-night nerves.
What this means for week one
The live show will go ahead with a new name slotted into the line-up if producers can finalise the replacement in time.
The incoming celebrity will need to fast-track rehearsals to match the rest of the cast, and their debut dance is likely to be a classic ballroom routine that can be polished quickly in the studio.
Expect a supportive welcome from the judges and some leeway from viewers as the new pairing finds its footing under pressure.
When is Strictly 2025 on?
4
The pre-recorded launch has already aired, revealing the celebrity-pro pairings and giving fans a first look at the glamour.
The live shows start this Saturday night on BBC One, with catch-up available on BBC iPlayer shortly after transmission.
Week one traditionally has no elimination, so viewers will get to see every couple — including the late replacement — take to the floor before the first vote opens the following week.
