Over 5 million California residents — including 2 million children — rely on the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program benefits that cover essential food such as fresh fruit and vegetables, meat, dairy, bread and snacks. Those funds are on hold as the federal shutdown continues, putting economic strain on the 1 in 8 Americans who rely on SNAP benefits, during a time of year when budgets are already tight as many prepare for holiday gatherings and gift giving.

But Angelenos are stepping up for those in need, from neighborhood nonprofits and community centers to local restaurants and chefs, offering grocery delivery, mobile farmers markets, grab-and-go meals and Thanksgiving spreads.

Here are 40 food initiatives happening across Los Angeles County this November, from free chicken rice porridge on Sundays to a communal Thanksgiving feast. Be sure to read details carefully; some events are open to all with no registration required, while others require advance sign up with proof of income and residency.

Air passengers warned packing viral flight snack in hand luggage could risk £5,000 fine

A TikTok user has shared a ‘travel hack’ that shows how to get an açaí bowl through security – but experts have warned that it could result in a hefty fine

Social media platforms, particularly TikTok, have become a hub for so-called “travel hacks.”

Holidaymakers often turn to these online content creators for tips on how to make the most of their flights and hotel stays.

However, much of the advice found online should be taken with a pinch of salt, especially if it doesn’t come from a qualified expert.

This has been the case with one passenger’s video, which has caught the attention of travellers worldwide and has now been viewed over a million times.

In the clip, she reveals how she manages to get her açaí bowl past security: by freezing it before packing it in her hand luggage, reports Chronicle Live.

The post sparked confusion in the comments section, with one viewer asking: “Wait, how did you get this through security?”, and another warning, “Pretty sure this is still considered a liquid.”

Now, travel experts are weighing in – and they have one clear warning.

According to Amanda Parker, spokesperson for Netflights, freezing açaí bowls or similar liquids to bypass security screening isn’t just ineffective – it could result in your snack being confiscated or, worse, a hefty fine.

“According to official government guidelines, you’re not allowed to carry frozen items in your hand luggage,” explained the travel specialist.

Even though this açaí bowl is frozen, it’s still considered a liquid and security will treat it as a liquid. “Your treat may start to thaw when you pass through airport security, and if it exceeds the 100 ml liquid limit, it’ll be going straight in the bin. Plus, the spillage while you carry it, not worth the hassle.”

Furthermore, the risk continues beyond security, as the contents of the bowl could also cause issues at customs for those returning to the UK. Many popular toppings and ingredients, including dairy, seeds, and fresh fruit, breach UK border regulations.

“There are restrictions on bringing food back to the UK, too. Meat, dairy, fish, fruit, veg, nuts and seeds are all no-nos,” Amanda warned. “You could face a £5,000 fine if you break these rules. Since açaí bowls are typically topped with nuts, seeds, and dairy, it’s crucial not to freeze your açaí bowl for your flight back to the UK, as you could pay the price.”

It comes after news that family favourite Turkey Twizzlers have been quietly axed — two decades after TV chef Jamie Oliver’s campaign saw them banned in school canteens.

The controversial snack disappeared from shop shelves without an official announcement from makers Bernard Matthews Foods.

Twizzlers launched in 1997, but got the chop in 2005 after Jamie’s healthy-eating “Feed Me Better” campaign for school meals.

He highlighted how they only contained 34 per cent meat, but lots of other additives.

An online petition for their return gained 28,000 signatures in 2018, before a healthier version was relaunched in 2020, containing 63 per cent turkey.

The relaunch saw a statue of a Twizzler erected outside Bernard Matthews Foods’ headquarters in Norfolk.

WALKERS DISAPPOINTMENT

And Walkers have discontinued a popular crisp flavour – leaving fans desperately searching the shelves for the discontinued product.

Max Texan BBQ was launched in partnership with Pizza Hut back in 2023 but it has now made way for the release of new crisp flavours.

One disappointed fan wrote on social media site X.com: “Why can’t I find Walkers Max Pizza Hut Texan BBQ Crisps in the supermarket?

“I usually buy a bag each time I shop as they are a favourite in my house. I haven’t seen them for at least 6 weeks.”

Walkers confirmed the flavour is no longer part of its offering.

But it isn’t all doom and gloom for crisps fans.

This week, Walkers dropped two brand new flavours which are out for a limited time.

The snack giant is shaking things up with two bold new additions hitting shelves across the UK.

‘Mandalorian and Grogu’ trailer packed with snacks, Anzellans

Baby Yoda fans rejoice: The first trailer for “The Mandalorian and Grogu” is finally here.

Walt Disney Studios released a new teaser for its upcoming “Star Wars” film on Monday, offering a first look at the Mandalorian Din Djarin and his charge Grogu’s next adventure. The movie is a spin-off of TV’s “The Mandalorian” and picks up after the events in the Disney+ series’ third season, which aired in 2023.

The trailer includes plenty of footage of the fan-favorite Force-wielding toddler being his usual adorable self as he flips switches on a spaceship, eats snacks and hangs out with Anzellans — the diminutive alien species who are often droidsmiths. It also shows Mando (potrayed by Pedro Pascal) and Grogu blowing up an AT-AT, taking in an event at a Hutt arena and meeting up with Sigourney Weaver’s character, a New Republic colonel named Ward. Ward seems unimpressed with Grogu’s attempts to help himself to her bar snacks.

The trailer was released amid the heightened scrutiny of Disney after its suspension of late-night host Jimmy Kimmel. Last week, the company’s broadcast network ABC announced it was dropping “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” indefinitely following remarks the host made in the aftermath of right-wing influencer Charlie Kirk’s killing that drew the ire of Federal Communications Commission Chairman Brendan Carr as well as affiliate-station owners Nexstar Media Group and Sinclair Broadcast Group. According to the Hollywood Reporter, “The Mandalorian and Grogu” teaser release had been planned for last week.

Among the backlash to ABC’s decision were calls for a boycott and to cancel subscriptions to Disney-owned services such as Hulu and Disney+. So it’s no surprise that folks online — including those in the comments section on the trailer’s YouTube video — had called out the new trailer as a distraction from Disney’s current troubles. The company has since announced “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” will return Tuesday.

Directed by “The Mandalorian” creator Jon Favreau, “Star Wars: The Mandalorian and Grogu” will be the first movie set in the galaxy far, far away to hit theaters since “Star Wars: Episode IX — The Rise of Skywalker” in 2019. The new movie is slated for a May 22 release.

Mum ‘fails snack time’ as school BANS lunchtime favourite with passive aggressive note… & people are absolutely fuming

She shared a snap of the letter and told her followers: “Day 1 of school and I’ve already failed snack time.

“Strong start, mom,” she added.

Her child had taken pretzels into class, which, according to the note, is one of three foods that are banned from school grounds.

The note read: “Your child’s snack of pretzels today did not meet our 4K classroom snack policy.

“Please make sure to send only fruits, vegetables, meat, cheese or yoghurt for their snack.

“Goldfish, popcorn and pretzels are not allowed for 4K students.

“If your child was without another snack, they were offered a classroom snack in place of this non-approved snack.

“Thank you for helping keep our 4K students safe due to severe classroom allergies.

The teacher added: “If you have any questions, please let me know. Thanks!”

The post was reshared by an influencer, and the identity of the parent and the school in question is currently unknown.

The controversial note sparked conversation in the comment section, with one saying: “Those snack restrictions are insane.”

“Please make a charcuterie board and send it,” joked another.

“Please send a rotisserie chicken,” said a third.

“Please send only perishable snacks so your 5yo lets it rot in their bag all day until snack time, thanks,” echoed another.

One wrote: “Good morning darling, please remember to take your snack time ribeye with you. Have a great day!”

The post was also shared on Reddit, where one person argued: “Speaking as a teacher: I hate teachers who are militant about snacks.

“So many families are just barely holding on, and you’re going to crawl up someone’s a** about food?”

Whilst many of the people who saw the post made a joke out of the situation, allergies are an incredibly serious matter.

Benedict Blythe died when he was just five years old after accidental exposure to cow’s milk protein in 2021.

Benedict had asthma and several allergies, including eggs, nuts, kiwi fruit and milk.

His parents had worked with the school to put together an allergy action plan in case of a reaction.

The school was responsible for storing oat milk in the staff fridge, which was labelled with the child’s name, and pouring it into Benedict’s cup in the classroom before handing it directly to him.

However, the jury inquest found that, on the day of his death, that process was not followed because his milk had been poured in the staff room rather than the classroom.

His parents were called to pick him up after he vomited and later “collapsed”.

Benedict was rushed to hospital but tragically couldn’t be saved and died later that day.

This year, his sister, Etta, six, took a petition to Downing Street to campaign for higher food safety regulations in schools.

She was joined by five other primary school students who took placards and the letter to Whitehall.

They called for Benedict’s Law to be implemented across the country to end the “postcode lottery” of allergy safeguards in schools.

Etta and friends joined other children affected by allergies to stand in front of No 10 and knocked on the door to hand over the petition signed by more than 13,000 people.

It comes following July’s jury inquest into Benedict’s death at Peterborough Town Hall, which found that Barnack Primary School, between Stamford and Peterborough, did not follow all the measures in place to prevent the fatal anaphylactic reaction.

It also found there were risks of contamination and delays in administering the adrenaline pen.

WHAT ARE THE MOST COMMON FOOD ALLERGIES?

APPROXIMATELY 44 per cent of people in Britain have an allergy or allergic disorder of some kind, says the charity Allergy UK.

Rates are higher in under-35s and lowest in pensioners.

The most common food allergies, according to the NHS, are:

  • Nuts, such as walnuts, almonds, hazelnuts, pecans, cashews, pistachios and Brazil nuts
  • Soy beans, chickpeas and peas

  • Wheat

You may be allergic to a food if it makes you feel dizzy, lightheaded, sick or itchy, brings you out in hives or swollen lips or eyes, or causes diarrhoea, vomiting, a runny nose, cough, breathlessness or wheezing.

Nik Naks is shaking up the snack aisle with the introduction of its new shape of crisps that come as Twisters.

This whacky new shape is designed for people to enjoy maximum crunch, to become “the ultimate snack-time sidekick that’ll have you reaching for more”.

It is the first switch up for the iconic knobbly snack that has come for over 40 years.

The Nik Nak Twisters will be available in two fan-favourite flavours – Nice ‘n’ Spicy and Tangy ‘n’ Cheesy.

The snacks will exclusively be available from Sainsbury’s in Octobers.

Buying these new Nik Naks will cost £2.50 per pack for nine 130 gram packets.

Other than the popular Nice ‘n’ Spicy that will soon come in a Twister form, their flavours have also included the Rib ‘n’ Saucy and Cream ‘n’ Cheesy.

Nik Nak’s update also comes just after iconic crisps brand Walkers also launched two new permanent flavours for fans.

Best restaurants to try Korean scorched rice in Los Angeles

After a raucous night out in my 20s, the real afterparty was always at BCD Tofu House — hunched over bubbling Korean tofu stew and a sizzling-hot stone bowl of steamed rice. After I’d scooped most of it out, a server would pour warm tea into the bowl, loosening the rice clinging stubbornly to the bottom. Scraping up those crispy-chewy bits of scorched rice, known in Korean as nurungji, quickly became my favorite part of the meal.

Long before electric rice cookers, Koreans traditionally cooked rice over an open flame in an iron cauldron called a gamasot. As it steamed, the bottom layer would crisp up against the hot metal, forming golden-brown nurungji.

“Today, nurungji simply means the crispy layer of rice that forms at the bottom of any pot or cooking appliance,” says Sarah Ahn, who co-wrote the Korean cookbook “Umma” with her mother, Nam Soon Ahn. “Personally, and within Korean culture, I see nurungji as a deeply nostalgic food, especially for Koreans of my mom’s generation.”

Chef and cookbook author Debbie Lee adds, “Sometimes it’s intentional, sometimes it’s from overcooking — what I call a great culinary accident.”

Korea isn’t alone in its love for scorched rice. Persian tahdig is the crust that forms at the bottom of the pot, flipped and served with the crispy layer on top. Chinese guoba is crispy rice paired with saucy stir-fries to soak up every bit of flavor. In West Africa, kanzo refers to the caramelized layer left behind after cooking, often found in dishes like jollof rice. Spain’s socarrat forms the base of well-executed paella.

And in Korea, nurungji is endlessly versatile — enjoyed on its own, steeped in hot water or tea as sungnyung (thought to be a soothing palate cleanser and digestive aid), or transformed into nurungji-tang, where the rice becomes the crunchy base for a light broth with seafood or vegetables.

With its nutty, toasted flavor that highlights the grain’s natural aroma, nurungji is comfort food born out of practicality. “Like so much of Korean food, it represents our resourcefulness — nothing goes to waste! — and our ability to find flavor in humble things,” says Sarah. Rather than discarding it, Koreans embraced the crunchy layer as a snack or meal.

“My parents are from Pyongyang and fled during the war,” says Lee. “My mother told me that they’d find an abandoned house to rest in, and nine times out of 10, there was rice. They lived off porridge, steamed rice, and ultimately nurungji as a snack.”

SeongHee Jeong, chef and co-owner of Koreatown’s Borit Gogae, remembers eating it sprinkled with sugar — a delicious treat when sweets were scarce. While there’s no single way to make it today, Sarah and her mom swear by the traditional method. “Nothing compares to the flavor of rice cooked in a gamasot over a wood fire,” Sarah says. “That taste is so iconic, you’ll even find packaged snacks trying to replicate it.”

In L.A., some restaurants keep it old-school by serving nurungji simply steeped in tea or hot water, while others are getting creative with it. Think: nurungji risotto at Jilli, an iced nurungji crema at Bodega Park or a fried chicken and nurungi dish at Fanny’s. At her Joseon pop-up last year, Lee even spun it into a nurungji crème brûlée.

“It’s truly amazing how humble ingredients born from hardship always find their way back,” says Sarah.

The cereal treat is a split pot with a generous helping of sweet yogurt made from 83 percent milk and crunchy chocolate balls.

The four-pack of 107g Chocoballs pots is being sold exclusively at Iceland for £2.80.

There is also a deal on now where you can buy three packs for just £6.00 – saving yourself £2.40.

Or you can mix and match them with a choice between Muller Corners or Quality Street’s Toffee Dessert.

One savvy shopper spotted the tasty treat in their local Iceland and shared a photo on Snack Reviews Facebook page.

“I need,” one wrote, adding the eyes emoji.

“I want these for me, not the kids,” another joked.

Nesquik was a huge hit in the 2000s and is known for its range of flavoured milk drink powders, particularly the iconic chocolate variety.

It has been a staple in many British households for decades, often associated with childhood memories and nostalgic comfort.

In addition to the classic powders, Nesquik in the UK has expanded its product range to include ready-to-drink bottles and cereal, further cementing its presence in the breakfast and snack categories.

This comes as Nesquik’s creator Nestle revealed it hiked the cost of its chocolate and coffee for customers.

The Swiss company said it’s raised its prices by 2.1% overall – but for some items the hikes are in the double digits.

It blamed surging costs of coffee beans and chocolate.

“Despite the significant level of the increases in many markets, the actions were implemented with limited customer disruption,” Nestle said.

Nestle produces a range of products, including chocolates, sweets, cereals, drinks, ice cream and pet foods.

Among its popular brands are Aero, Milkybar, Smarties, Milo, Haagen Dazs, San Pellegrino, and Felix cat food.

The company said it had better-than-expected sales growth of 2.8% in the first three months of the year.

The higher prices accounted for much of the rise.

Nestle said it had seen demand drop significantly following the price increases but it is now bouncing back.

It also warned there could be further impacts on customers due to higher global tariffs.

Donald Trump recently launched a global trade war when he announced major tariffs on dozens of countries.

The move has raised fears of a global recession, sent stock markets tumbling and caused economic uncertainty for businesses trading internationally.

Mr Trump has called on American companies to produce their products in the US to avoid costly tariffs.

But for chocolate makers this is near impossible as the key ingredient, cocoa, can only be grown in tropical climates.

On top of this, the price of cocoa has soared in recent years.

Farmers in West Africa, where 70% of the world’s cocoa is harvested, have been struggling with climate-related issues that have decimated their cocoa production.

It’s estimated 400,000 tonnes less of cocoa has been produced over the last few years, hiking the price significantly.

TESCO has axed a popular product, leaving customers devastated.

The snack, which can be made with boiling water, was a fan favourite with shoppers.

It cost around 50p and was available in store and online.

Confused customers have taken to social media to find out where the popular snack had gone.

Writing in a Reddit thread one shopper said: “These are my go to quick food and my local Tesco has none on the shelf and they’ve disappeared off of the website too.

“I’ll be gutted if they’ve discontinued them.”

Another fan replied: “Probably, if you liked them, these stores always stop what people like!

The Sun reached out to Tesco to find out what happened to the savoury snack

The supermarket confirmed the product was no more, adding that it had been replaced with a Chicken flavour that customers could buy.

The news will come as a blow to customers who in the past said it was the only noodles they “enjoy” to eat.

Some customers said Super Noodles make a similar product for a quid, but the upset shopper said they were too dear.

It’s not the first time that Tesco has axed a popular product.

Tesco stated that it adjusts its soup range throughout the year to reflect seasonal demand.

The supermarket will expand its offering again in the autumn.

Tesco shoppers were also shocked to find the supermarket no longer stocks six-pint cartons of milk.

OTHER DISCONTINUED PRODUCTS

Tesco is not the only supermarket that has shaken up what it sells in stores.

Asda also recently confirmed it has discontinued its store-brand Creamy Peppercorn Sauce.

The Sun revealed that Alpen cereal bars have permanently disappeared from supermarket shelves.

The snack, usually topped with chocolate or yogurt, has been a staple in many Brits kitchen cupboards since the early noughties.

Alpen bars were also loved by many watching what they eat or following a Slimming World or Weight Watchers diet plan, as the treat was low in calories.

Alpen’s entire cereal bar range, which includes Alpen Light and Alpen Delight has been discontinued.

However shoppers can continue to buy it’s range of muesli, which costs around £3 from major supermarkets.

Kellogg’s also recently confirmed it’s not bringing back its chocolate flavour Corn Flakes.

Why are products axed or recipes changed?

They may opt for a cheaper alternative, especially when costs are rising to keep prices stable.

For example, Tango Cherry disappeared from shelves in 2018.

It has recently returned after six years away but as a sugar-free version.

Fanta removed sweetener from its sugar-free alternative earlier this year.

Suntory tweaked the flavour of its flagship Lucozade Original and Orange energy drinks.

While the amount of sugar in every bottle remains unchanged, the supplier swapped out the sweetener aspartame for sucralose.

Health food brand urgently recalls popular snack over E.coli fears as shoppers warned ‘do not eat’

A HEALTH food brand has urgently recalled one of its popular snacks over E.coli fears with a “do not eat” warning issued to shoppers.

Grape Tree is recalling Raw Unsalted Macadamia Nuts because Shiga toxin-producing E.coli has been found in one of its batches.

The recall affects 250g packs of the nuts which have a best before date of July 11, 2026.

The store is warning customers who have bought the affected batch, which has a batch code of G41 5 101 250610, not to eat them.

A spokesperson for Grape Tree says: “If you have bought Raw Unsalted Macadamia Nuts 250g as detailed above, do not eat them.

“Instead, check if you have bought the affected batch code.

“You can do this by taking a picture of this notice or writing down the batch code/best before date for reference at home.

“Return the product to the store for a full refund (with or without a receipt).”

The Food Standards Agency also shared the product recall notice, adding that it is England, Wales and Scotland specific.

A spokesperson said: “If you have bought the above product do not eat it. Instead return it to the store from where it was bought for a full refund.

“For more information, please email [email protected].”

It comes after Lidl recently told shoppers not to eat one of its savoury snacks over fears it could contain salmonella.

The discount supermarket urgently recalled its Sol & Mar Chicharricos BBQ Pork Scratchings after the problem was found.

The recall affected 100g packets of the pork scratchings with best before dates ranging from August 5, 2025 through to August 12, 2025.

How to have the best Sunday in L.A., according to Gabby Windey

Spiritually, Gabby Windey is all about Sundays in a hardcore, no-exceptions, day-of-rest sort of way. The “Long Winded” podcast host became the breakout star of “The Traitors” this year after winning the reality TV competition with a series of bold outfits and stereotype-smashing strategic moves. Her stream-of-consciousness podcast monologues continue to boost her star, frequently going viral on Instagram and TikTok for their vocal fry realness. Now she’s booked and busy beyond belief, a mixed bag for Windey.

In Sunday Funday, L.A. people give us a play-by-play of their ideal Sunday around town. Find ideas and inspiration on where to go, what to eat and how to enjoy life on the weekends.

“You know I’m always begging for a break,” Windey says. “It’s things that I want to be busy with, so I can’t really complain. But yeah, I’m always looking for my next nap.”

That makes Sundays feel like a “special occasion” for her, especially since it’s when she gets slow, quality time with her wife, comedian Robby Hoffman. Together, Windey and Hoffman spend their Sundays in the most relatable way possible: scrolling the internet, watching TV and movies, getting high with friends and snacking.

Sundays are also the ultimate example of Windey’s famous “business hours,” the time after 3 p.m. in which Windey’s confidence plummets and she’d rather “gouge my eyes out with a dull chopstick” than FaceTime for work. Woe to anyone who would bother Windey on a Sunday.

“God forbid, if anyone emails you on a Sunday, block and delete, fire them all,” Windey says. “On Sunday I am closed for business. You will not hear a peep from me.”

9 a.m.: Get out of bed, get back into bed

We’ll sleep in until, like, hopefully 9 or something. Robby works nights, you know, she’s a stand-up comedian. I’m like blaming [sleeping in] on her, but I can easily get 10 hours of sleep a night. So yeah, we like a lazy morning.

We’ll go get coffee. We’re right next to Lamill now. Then we’ll come back home and do the New York Times crossword, Connections, Wordle in bed.

Normally, when Robby’s had her fair share of like showing me YouTube clips or Reels, then I’ll start to get antsy. I’m like, “Enough of this. Let’s go.”

11 a.m.: Groceries and tamales

We’ll walk to the Silver Lake Farmers Market. Robby does a lot of the grocery shopping, and I’ll just, like, get a tamale. They’re $5, and they’re huge. I like a red sauce and a green sauce, so it’s like beef with the red sauce and chicken with the green sauce, but I also like a dessert tamale, a sweet tamale. I’m half Mexican, and my mom did not cook except for tamales. So it’s a very comforting food.

Robby’s really good at grocery shopping, so I just kind of let her go. But we get fresh berries. We’ll make veggie sandwiches throughout the week, which is like romaine lettuce, mushrooms, tomatoes and cucumber. We’ll get those ingredients and whatever weird food there is, you know, there’s always like some hippie fermented thing that’s supposed to be good for you.

Noon: Back to bed.

I have to take a break.

1 p.m.: Prerolls in the park

For [the weed holiday] 4/20, we met up with friends in Silver Lake Meadow. First I went to Botanica to get some snacks. They have good snacks, so I got this really good carrot hummus. It’s like sweet. I got some good crackers, some goat cheese wrapped in tea leaves. It sounds better than it actually was. And I’m exploring NA [nonalcoholic] options. So I got some Ghia. People die for it. But I’m like, I don’t know. I wasn’t quite sold. It’s not giving me a buzz. Surprisingly — there’s nothing in it! But I still want a buzz of some sort, which in comes the weed. So then we went to the park to just like get high on Edie Parker prerolls, talk s— with some friends for like three hours and eat good snacks. (Note: Windey has a partnership with fashion and cannabis brand Edie Parker).

4:30 p.m.: Catch a movie

Then we’ll go see a movie. We’ll f— with the Americana [at Brand] hard. We love the popcorn, love the ease. We’ll like sneak food in and out, you know, I don’t even think you need to sneak it in anymore. We haven’t gotten caught, but we always have the backstory of like that we’re gluten-free, or that we’re kosher, because Robby grew up Hasidic. So she knows what it’s like to be kosher, and I guess it’d be a good excuse for sneaking in food to the movie theater.

7:30 p.m.: Eat special-occasion sushi

After the movies, we’ll probably go out, like on a date night. I love sushi, obviously, who doesn’t? So we’ll either go to Sugarfish, because it’s like you get the same thing every time. You know, it’s so reliable. Or Kombu Sushi in Silver Lake. They have a great baked crab roll that I literally crave. But I like to save it for a special occasion, for Sunday.

9:30 p.m.: Call it a night

Back home, I’ll maybe do some skincare if I have any energy left, which after this Sunday it sounds like I won’t. Other than that, we might just watch a show, or I’ll do like a face mask. I’ll read on the Kindle — I’m reading “Adult Children of Emotionally Immature Parents.” I can’t wait to be done with it. I’m like, “OK, I just need to get through this. And then I can start fun reading again.” I didn’t get much of the American lit category in school. So I’m trying to kind of move my way through that. I just read Joan Didion’s “Slouching Towards Bethlehem.” I might go to the other book that people think is her best one next.
