SELENA Gomez showed off her sweet side at the 2025 Rare Impact Fund Benefit.

The US singer and actress, 33, looked effortless in a purple satin mini dress at the the third annual event in Los Angeles.

The former Disney star, who recently celebrated one month of marriage to music producer and songwritter Benny Blanco, launched the Rare Impact Fund in 2020 to raise funds and awareness for youth mental health globally.

According to Vogue, the event, hosted by US talk show host Jimmy Kimmel, raised more than $600,000.

Earlier in the week, Selena’s ‘unnecessarily cruel’ comments landed her in hot water.

The star came under fire for boasting that her billion-dollar brand doesn’t “use real models” for its beauty campaigns.

While Selena, was attempting to deliver a positive message about how Rare Beauty highlights real, natural features, many took offence to the comments. 

The company had used hundreds of different models since it launched in September 2020 – making many feel Selena’s comments disregard their talents and professions. 

Her remarks caught the eye of one Rare Beauty model who spoke exclusively to The U.S. Sun about hearing Selena’s comments. 

The model, who did not wish to be named due to fear of not being hired for future campaigns, has been working with the brand since 2024. 

“I actually cried when I heard Selena’s comments,” the model claimed, who then added: “I was already having a bad day and was feeling really sensitive and emotional.”

She continued: “I was feeling nervous about some career stuff, and then I saw that video of her saying I’m not even a real model. 

“It hit me at the worst time because now I’m like… ‘what am I even doing?’ 

“I thought this would be a big break for me, and to be told by the founder of the company that I look up to that I am not ‘real’ at my job? 

“It’s degrading and embarrassing. The number of family and friends who sent me that clip after was mortifying.”

She is working on her 15th studio album — a sequel to 2005’s Confessions on a Dance Floor — which will be her first since 2019’s Madame X.

Madonna is expected to go on hols with boyfriend Akeem Morris, 29, for her birthday next week.

Meanwhile, Madonna has spent the past few years working on a movie about her life.

Actress Julia Garner was lined up to play the Hung Up hitmaker in the film before it appeared to be left on the shelf over two years ago.

Now it seems that plans have been re-imagined with Julia confirming last month she is still lined up to play the iconic popstar in a Netflix miniseries about her life.

Madonna and Julia are working with filmmaker Shawn Levy on the project, which is in the early stages of development.

Confirming that the project was still happening, despite the uncertainty, Julia told the SmartLess podcast: “Yeah, I mean, that’s supposed to still happen.”

However, she did appear to hint that the project may still be far off hitting screens as she affirmed that “anything that’s great, takes time”.

The beach is less than a two-hour drive from London

A beach that stretches for miles of golden sand has been hailed “sensational” by a recent visitor. Bathed in sunshine that turns the sea into a sparkling sheet of diamonds, you’d be forgiven for mistaking Camber Sands near Rye in East Sussex for somewhere far-flung.

The beach has been likened to those in Australia, and with this weekend’s glorious weather a trip to the beach could be ideal. Camber Sands lies between the picturesque, historic town of Rye, known for its vibrant harbour and medieval charm, and Dungeness’s striking headland.

The beach sits at the confluence of the River Rother and Rye Bay, reports Kent Live. While the beach often attracts visitors from near and far on days like today, its vastness means you’ll still be able to carve out your own piece of heaven for a mini holiday.

Government water quality checks reveal that Camber Sands holds a “good” bathing water profile, proud status it’s maintained since 2021, and the beach also boasts a rating of 4.3 stars out of a possible five on Tripadvisor, based on 1,984 reviews.

However, it’s important to remember the tragic incident in 2016 when five men tragically lost their lives after venturing into the sea at Camber Sands. An inquest concluded their unfortunate deaths as misadventure, suggesting they may have strayed too far towards a sandbar rather than being caught in a rip current.

In response to this tragedy, there are now RNLI lifeguards in place and it’s advised to stay within the red and yellow flag areas monitored by the guards when paddling or swimming. Also, be mindful of the fast-approaching tide, and avoid digging deep holes or tunnels in the sand, as advised by Rochester District on its website.

A recent Tripadvisor review of Camber Sands beach reads: “Such a beautiful place that looks like it’s stood still in time. Sensational Sandy beaches and delightful dunes to watch the sea and grab a life bite or a dip in the sea.

“It’s very simple here and great for picnics . It’s truly beautiful and one of the best beaches I have visited in the UK.” Another user wrote: “This beach was just WOW! Miles of perfect golden flat sands……so reminded us of beaches in Australia.”

Some visitors have complained about the parking costs, however, with summer rates as follows: up to an hour £6; one to three hours £12; three to six hours £24; over six hours: £30. Toilet facilities are available at Camber Sands.
