Coronation Street’s Becky’s sinister plan for Carla ‘solved by fans’ after odd remark

Coronation Street fans believe Becky Swain may have bugged Carla Connor’s home in a bid to get dirt on her and split her and Lisa Swain up, with her intent on getting her family back

Viewers are concerned for Carla Connor on Coronation Street, with fears that Becky Swain is targeting her.

While it’s clear Becky is trying to oust ‘love rival’ Carla from her ex Lisa Swain’s life, in a bid to win her back, new scenes have teased she could be planning something sinister. A scene on Monday night left fans baffled, and alarmed after Becky made an odd comment.

Becky was winding Carla up, trying to tell her Lisa was still in love with her and that they would get back together. Carla very calmly made it clear to Becky that Lisa only had eyes for her, and they would stay together as Becky’s old life was gone.

It seems Becky is a little delusional though, smugly telling Carla that “it was all in the eyes” and that Lisa kissed her, even wearing a top she bought her years ago. Carla was stunned at just how wrong Becky was getting it all, reminding her that she and Lisa were together in their new home, and that Becky was her past.

It’s then that Becky started making jibes at Carla’s own past, referencing stuff about her exes and her alcohol issues. It’s stuff Becky and even Lisa were not around for, and Becky shouldn’t really know about.

She is a police officer so perhaps she did some digging, but chances are she’s not allowed at the police station. Perhaps Betsy told her about the stuff, if she knows any of it.

Becky also made a comment in a different scene, this time to Lisa where she commented that if Carla wasn’t around, they’d be back together. The way Becky said it was almost the same as what Carla had said to Lisa prior.

It left fans wondering if Becky had bugged Carla’s house, and was listening into conversations. One fan posted online: “Oh so Becky’s bugged No.6 then… ‘if she wasn’t around…you don’t have to say it, it’s enough for me just to know’. HOW DO YOU KNOW?????

“And using that very specific wording that… the same that Carla used the night before?? That can’t just be coincidence?” Another fan agreed: “Ohhhh, you could be into something with this!!”

A third fan said: “Oh she has defo planted bugs 100% there is no way she said that line the exact way Carla said it as a coincidence.” A fourth fan added: “That is why we have the bedroom set? Scene of her watching them and listening in.”

The comments kept being repeated, with one fan said: “Exactly… How else would she know those words plus knowing full well Carla said this to Lisa, she heard it.” A final tweet said: “Wouldn’t be surprised.”

Fox News host apologizes for proposing lethal injections for mentally ill homeless people

“Fox & Friends” co-host Brian Kilmeade apologized Sunday for remarks he made last week that suggested using involuntary lethal injections to get mentally ill homeless people off the streets.

Kilmeade’s comments came during a discussion last Wednesday on “Fox & Friends” about the Aug. 22 stabbing death of a 23-year Ukranian refugee, Iryna Zarutska, on a light rail train in Charlotte, N.C.

Zarutska’s suspected killer, DeCarlos Brown Jr., is a homeless man with a long criminal record and is a paranoid schizophrenic, according to his family.

The attack on Zarutska was captured on security cameras and circulated widely online. The incident has sparked a national debate on public safety policy and criminal sentencing.

The topic led “Fox & Friends” co-host Laurence Jones to say that billions of dollars have been spent on programs to care for the homeless and mentally ill but many of those afflicted resist help.

“A lot of them don’t want to take the programs,” Jones said. “A lot of them don’t want to get the help that is necessary. You can’t give them the choice. Either you take the resources that we’re going to give you, or you decide that you’ve got to be locked up in jail.”

Kilmeade added: “Or involuntary lethal injection or something — just kill ‘em.”

A clip of Kilmeade’s remarks started to circulate widely on X on Saturday.

“I apologize for that extremely callous remark,” Kilmeade said during Sunday’s edition of the morning program. “I am obviously aware that not all mentally ill, homeless people act as the perpetrator did in North Carolina and that so many homeless people deserve our empathy and compassion.”

Many online commentators pointed out that Kilmeade’s comments evoked the extermination of mentally ill and disabled people that was authorized by Adolf Hitler in 1939. The German chancellor’s euthanasia program killed more than 250,000 people ahead of the Holocaust.

For now, Kilmeade has avoided the fate of political analyst Matthew Dowd, who lost his contributor role at MSNBC after commenting on the Wednesday shooting death of right wing political activist Charlie Kirk.

Dowd told MSNBC anchor Katy Tur that “hateful thoughts lead to hateful words which then lead to hateful actions.”

Dowd, once a political strategist for President George W. Bush, described Kirk as a divisive figure “who is constantly sort of pushing this sort of hate speech or sort of aimed at certain groups.”

The angry reaction on social media was immediate after Dowd’s comments suggested that Kirk’s history of incendiary remarks led to the shooting.

Rebecca Kutler, president of MSNBC, issued an apology and cut ties with Dowd.

Dowd also apologized in a post on BlueSky. “I in no way intended intended to blame Kirk for this horrendous attack,” he said.

The top executives at MSNBC parent Comcast sent a company-wide memo Friday citing Dowd’s firing and told employees “we need to do better.”

Arab, Islamic countries condemn Netanyahu’s ‘Greater Israel’ remark | Israel-Palestine conflict News

A statement issued by the countries says the Israeli prime minister’s comments constitutes a direct threat to Arab national security and peace.

A coalition of Arab and Muslim nations has condemned “in the strongest terms” statements made by Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu regarding his vision for a “Greater Israel”.

When interviewer Sharon Gal with the Israeli i24NEWS channel asked Netanyahu if he subscribed to a “vision” for a “Greater Israel”, Netanyahu said “absolutely”. Asked during the interview aired on Tuesday if he felt connected to the “Greater Israel” vision, Netanyahu said: “Very much.”

The “Greater Israel” concept supported by ultranationalist Israelis is understood to refer to an expansionist vision that lays claim to the occupied West Bank, Gaza, parts of Lebanon, Syria, Egypt and Jordan.

“These statements represent a grave disregard for, and a blatant and dangerous violation of, the rules of international law and the foundations of stable international relations,” said a joint statement by a coalition of 31 Arab and Islamic countries and the Arab League.

“They also constitute a direct threat to Arab national security, to the sovereignty of states, and to regional and international peace and security,” the statement released on Friday said.

The signatories of the statement included the secretaries-general of the League of Arab States, the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation and the Gulf Cooperation Council.

The Arab and Islamic nations also condemned Israeli Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich’s announcement on Thursday to push ahead with settlement expansion in the occupied West Bank.

The statement said the move is “a blatant violation of international law and a flagrant assault on the inalienable right of the Palestinian people to realise their independent, sovereign state on the lines of June 4, 1967, with Occupied Jerusalem as its capital”.

The statement added that Israel has no sovereignty over occupied Palestinian territory.

Smotrich said he would approve thousands of housing units in a long-delayed illegal settlement project in the West Bank, saying the move “buries the idea of a Palestinian state”.

Last September, the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) overwhelmingly adopted a resolution calling on Israel to end its illegal occupation of the Palestinian territories within 12 months.

The resolution backed an advisory opinion by the International Court of Justice (ICJ) – the UN’s top court – which found that Israel’s presence in the Palestinian territories is unlawful and must end. In January 2024, the ICJ said Israel was “plausibly committing genocide”. The top UN court has yet to announce its verdict in the case brought by South Africa.

Netanyahu and Smotrich made the remarks during Israel’s devastating 22-month war on Gaza, which has killed at least 61,827 people and wounded 155,275 people in the enclave.

Last week, Israel’s Security Cabinet approved Netanyahu’s plan to fully occupy Gaza City, and in Tuesday’s interview, Netanyahu also revived calls to “allow” Palestinians to leave Gaza, telling i24NEWS: “We are not pushing them out, but we are allowing them to leave.”

Campaigners said Netanyahu’s use of the word “leave” was a euphemism for the ethnic cleansing of Gaza – home to 2.1 million people, most of whom are refugees and their descendants from the 1948 Nakba when more than 700,000 Palestinians were forced to flee from what became the state of Israel.

Past calls to resettle people from Gaza outside the war-battered territory, including from United States President Donald Trump, have sparked fears of forced displacement among Palestinians and condemnation from the international community.

In their statement on Saturday, the Islamic countries reiterated their “rejection and condemnation of Israel’s crimes of aggression, genocide, and ethnic cleansing” in Gaza and highlighted the need for a ceasefire in the enclave while “ensuring unconditional access to humanitarian aid to halt the systematic starvation policy used by Israel as a weapon of genocide”.

They also reaffirmed their “complete and absolute rejection of the displacement of the Palestinian people in any form and under any pretext” and called on the international community to pressure Israel to halt its aggression and fully withdraw from the Gaza Strip.

AIPAC slams Trump ally Marjorie Taylor Greene over Gaza genocide remark | Israel-Palestine conflict News

Washington, DC – The American Israel Public Affairs Committee (AIPAC) has accused Congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene of betraying “American values” by saying that Israel is committing genocide in Gaza.

In a fundraising email to supporters on Thursday, AIPAC – one of the most influential foreign policy lobby groups in the United States – likened Greene, a far-right legislator, to left-wing opponents of Israel.

“You expect anti-Israel smears from Rashida Tlaib and Ilhan Omar,” the group said, referring to Muslim-American Democratic congressmembers.

“But now, Marjorie Taylor Greene has joined their ranks – spouting the same vile rhetoric and voting against the US-Israel alliance.”

Last week, Greene, an ally of US President Donald Trump, echoed the growing consensus of rights groups, academics and United Nations experts that Israel is carrying out a genocide in Gaza.

“It’s the most truthful and easiest thing to say that Oct 7th in Israel was horrific and all hostages must be returned, but so is the genocide, humanitarian crisis, and starvation happening in Gaza,” the congresswoman wrote in a social media post.

The United Nations defines genocide as “acts committed with intent to destroy, in whole or in part, a national, ethnical, racial or religious group”.

Over the past 22 months, Israel has destroyed nearly all of Gaza, repeatedly displaced the enclave’s population, killed more than 61,000 people and imposed a suffocating blockade that sparked deadly hunger in the territory.

On Thursday, AIPAC called Greene’s genocide accusation “disgusting”.

“Let’s call this what it is: Marjorie Taylor Greene is the newest member of the anti-Israel Squad,” the group said.

“She may think this earns her praise from the far-left or online radicals — but we see it for what it is: a betrayal of American values and a dangerous distortion of the truth.”

Greene’s recent stances on Gaza stand in stark contrast with her staunch early support for Israel. In 2023, she led efforts to formally rebuke Tlaib – the only Palestinian American in Congress – over condemning Israeli policies.

With criticism of Israel in the US mostly coming from the progressive left, AIPAC rarely denounces members of Trump’s Republican Party.

But the lobby group said on Thursday that it will challenge “lies” about Israel, whether they come from the “radical left or the radical right”.

Although Trump has been uncompromising in his backing for Israel, a segment of his Republican base has been increasingly critical of unconditional support for the US ally, viewing the relationship as incompatible with the president’s “America first” mantra.

AIPAC spending

For decades, AIPAC has encouraged its members to donate to candidates for public office, and in 2022, it started directly spending tens of millions of dollars to defeat critics of Israel.

Last year, AIPAC helped oust two incumbent progressive congressmembers, spending record amounts on election advertisements.

AIPAC has not announced plans to challenge Greene in next year’s midterm elections.

The congresswoman did not face a primary opponent in her Georgia district last year and won the general election by nearly 30 percentage points.

In recent weeks, AIPAC has been trying to mitigate the growing outrage at Israel’s starvation policy in Gaza, often repeating false Israeli statements denying hunger in the territory and accusing Hamas of stealing the humanitarian aid.

However, despite the group’s efforts, many congressmembers, including some legislators who have been backed by AIPAC, have begun condemning Israel’s conduct in Gaza.

On Wednesday, Democratic Congresswoman Valerie Foushee, whom AIPAC helped elect to Congress in 2022 with $2m in campaign spending, said she was co-sponsoring a bill to block offensive weapons to Israel.

“We simply cannot continue to provide the Israeli government with weapons when they are not being used in accordance with international law to maximize the protection of civilians in Gaza,” Foushee wrote in a social media post.

Netflix viewers make same critical remark after watching Wednesday season 2

The Jenna Ortega-fronted Netflix hit Wednesday returned with the first half of its hotly anticipated second series landing on the streaming platform on August 6, with the second half expected next month

LONDON, ENGLAND - JULY 30: (L-R) Isaac Ordonez, Luis Guzmán, Catherine Zeta-Jones, Jenna Ortega, Victor Dorobantu, Joanna Lumley and Fred Armisen attend the "Wednesday" Season 2, Part 1 premiere at Central Hall, Westminster on July 30, 2025 in London, England. Many Netflix fans all have the same complaint after tuning into the second instalment of the hit horror comedy series, Wednesday, which focuses on the character’s exploits at a private boarding school. The first season arrived in November 2022 and was a critical and commercial success, with many praising lead star Jenna Ortega.

The first half of the new season premiered on August 6, with the second half expected to hit the streaming platform on September 3. The show has already been renewed for a third season, much to fans’ delight.

But not all fans are impressed with the show’s set-up and many think it’s inherently flawed due to Wednesday being placed at Nevermore Academy with magical and mythical students, each boasting unusual or fantastical powers.

Wednesday doesn’t have any obvious supernatural abilities at first and much of her charm – and the Addams’ family’s as a whole – is their dark, gothic and macabre nature which contrasts their deep love for one another, all set against the backdrop of “normal” people in a “normal” world.

With Wednesday removed from a standard school setting, she isn’t the odd one out anymore. Her dark nature, her constant melancholy, and Jenna Ortega’s trademark lack of blinking, blends in seamlessly with students at Nevermore who each have their own darkness to contend with.

When murders started happening in the first season, Wednesday was keen to get to the bottom of the mystery. She soon discovered she has psychic abilities, with the power to experience visions of the past, present and future.

Again, in a typical school setting, this would set her apart from her “normal” peers as the gothic girl with unnerving, unnatural powers. At Nevermore, she’s one among many.

The show’s second season looks to be expanding on Wednesday’s world, with more focus on other members of the Addams family clan. This is something many fans can’t quite agree on.

In a Reddit post linking to a review titled “‘Wednesday’ Season 2 Review: Jenna Ortega Gets Lost Amid Addams Family Mayhem in Overcrowded Netflix Return,” fans were keen to share their thoughts.

One person said: “I.e. this series is more of a regular The Addams Family series compared to Season One’s wholly Wednesday-focused affair.”

Another said: “I would imagine a show called Wednesday would be fully focused on said character…. Lol.”

A third shared: “The second season still focuses on Wednesday. Just less than season 1.”

Someone else added: “Which is a good thing. Wednesday is great, but the reason why the movies worked so well is because of the family dynamic. Just following one family member all season is a mistake, and it appears the showrunner agreed.”

And another Netflix fan commented: “There’s also something to be said about the fact that they put Wednesday into a school where everybody is creepy and weird to some degree, which suddenly makes her not all that unique.

“The juxtaposition of the Addamses against normal people who find them off putting is a huge part of what makes the formula work but they took all that away.”

Someone else added: “I mean all I really want is more Addams Family.”

Saturday Kitchen host Matt Tebbutt was not too impressed as he was forced to issue an apology over a comment his co-star made.

The BBC show returned to screens on Saturday morning (August 2) with Matt back at the helm. Joining Matt – who is rumoured the new face of MasterChef – on the programme were chefs Paul Ainsworth, Ravinder Bhogal and Justin Tsang.

Strictly star Bill Bailey also made an appearance, and drinks expert Helen McGinn was on hand too, to discuss some booze and to pair the drinks with the studio dishes.

However, just minutes into Saturday Kitchen airing, and things took an awkward turn, when Matt turned to Helen and asked her what she’s got coming up.

“We’ve gone rosé. I cannot wait,” Helen said. Referring to the wine, she said: “It’s from volcanic soil, so it’s got like super energy. It’s like an energy drink!”

Baffled, Matt fired back: “Like an energy drink?!” Helen replied: “Yeah in my world.” Not impressed, Matt then said: “If there are any children watching at home, it is not like an energy drink! Sorry.” He then tried to swiftly move on and chatted to Bill and about his food heaven and hell dishes.

It comes after Matt welcomed back a beloved member of the Saturday Kitchen team last week. In the episode aired on July 26, Matt commented: “He’s back! Olly Smith, where have you been all my life?!”

Olly replied: “Oh well, all your life! Well, over the last few weeks, I’ve had a triple threat of writing, going to weddings, and festivals.”

Jeremy Vine forced to apologise after caller’s ‘disgusting’ on-air remark to Ann Widdecombe

The Jeremy Vine Show was quickly halted on Friday after a caller made a rude and explicit comment to Ann Widdecombe during an intense debate about doctors’ strikes

Channel 5 viewers were left shocked when a caller made inappropriate remarks towards Ann Widdecombe live on the Jeremy Vine show last Friday. The host, Jeremy Vine, was joined by commentators Ann, aged 77, and James Schneider, a former Labour adviser to Jeremy Corbyn.

The panel was discussing the latest doctors’ strikes which began on July 25th. They spoke with a caller named Gregg from Tyne and Wear, who shared that he had previously worked as a junior doctor for five years before leaving the profession to earn five times more at another company.

Gregg stated: “[Being a doctor] is not about the money for me. It’s about the love of the job – it was the hardest decision I had to make. But I have just one thing I need to pose to Ann Widdecombe?”

He then asked: “Hi Ann, how are you?” To which she responded: “How’re you?” Gregg replied: “I’m good thanks for asking. I’m off to work soon but me and a few of the lads at the plant…” At this point, Jeremy interrupted, saying: “Hang on Greg. You’re not going to be rude to Ann. I can just feel the storm coming.”

Ann retorted: “He can be rude to me,” reports the Express. Gregg then made an inappropriate comment, saying: “I was just wondering if she was going to get her t**s out for the lads.”

Jeremy quickly intervened, halting the show and stating: “You see, I saw it coming. The guy’s a clown.” Ann agreed, saying: “You did see it coming.”

“I did see it coming. It’s ridiculous. I could tell,” Jeremy added. “And apologies for the language there. Let’s move on.”

Viewers were left fuming after the inappropriate comment was aired, with many expressing their outrage on social media. One user vented: “Absolutely pathetic. 12-year-old ringing up. Horrible mysogny as well. #jeremyvine.”

Another seethed: “Pathetic man, doing that to Ann. These jokes are so old – he must have the IQ of a 10-year-old to think it’s still funny #jeremyvine.”

A third chimed in: “What a twat! I’m no fan of Ann, but speaking to her like that is disgusting! #jeremyvine.” Jeremy promptly issued an apology live on the show following the incident.

Dean Cain calls James Gunn’s ‘Superman’ ‘woke’ after immigrant remark

Dean Cain, the former star of “Lois & Clark: The New Adventures of Superman,” laments the newest take on the Man of Steel — one that likens his story to the immigrant experience in America.

In a recent conversation with TMZ, Cain — who starred as Clark Kent/Superman in the hit 1990s TV series — wondered: “How woke is Hollywood going to make this character?”

The 58-year-old actor railed against filmmaker James Gunn and his iteration of the Kryptonian icon after the director declared in an interview with the London Times that “Superman is the story of America.” In the interview, Gunn described his hero as “an immigrant that came from other places and populated the country,” adding that his film, starring David Corenswet in the title role, is “mostly a story that says basic human kindness is a value and is something we have lost.”

Gunn, who has been an outspoken critic of President Trump, made his comments as the Trump administration carries out its aggressive crackdown on immigrant communities across California. Since raids in Los Angeles began June 6, federal immigration agents have arrested nearly 2,700 undocumented individuals, according to data released Tuesday by the U.S. Department of Homeland Security.

Cain was clearly not a fan of Gunn’s remarks. Cain, who has not seen the film yet, criticized the idea of “changing beloved characters” and suggested creating new original characters instead. When he starred in “Lois & Clark,” Cain was the fourth actor to portray Superman onscreen, filling in the red boots of Kirk Alyn, George Reeves and Christopher Reeve. He claimed that the superhero “has always stood for truth, justice and the American way.

“The American way is immigrant-friendly, tremendously immigrant-friendly, but there are rules,” he added, before his aside about people coming to the U.S. to seek opportunity. Speaking more broadly about immigration, Cain said he believes in enforcing limits on immigration, otherwise “our society will fail.”

Dean Cain's Superman puts one arm around Teri Hatcher's Lois Lane.

Teri Hatcher and Dean Cain starred in the TV series “Lois & Clark: The New Adventures of Superman” from 1993 to 1997.

(ABC Television Network)

In another clip from his conversation with TMZ, Cain asks why immigration agents and federal agencies, including Immigration and Customs Enforcement and Customs and Border Protection, “are being villainized for enforcing the laws that our lawmakers, our elected representatives created.” Videos shared on social media have documented numerous incidents of masked immigration agents forcefully detaining civilians and confronting other people attempting to interfere in the arrests.

Cain said he thinks it “was a mistake by James Gunn to say, you know, it’s an immigrant thing,” adding that he thinks the movie will suffer at the box office as a result. Cain said he is looking forward to Gunn’s take on the comic-book hero and is rooting for its success, but ultimately contends, “I don’t like that last political comment,” referring to the Marvel alum’s description of Superman.

Gunn’s “Superman” is now in theaters and also stars Rachel Brosnahan, Nicholas Hoult, Edi Gathegi, Anthony Carrigan, Nathan Fillion and Isabela Merced. In her review, Times film critic Amy Nicholson writes, “This isn’t quite the heart-soaring ‘Superman’ I wanted. But these adventures wise him up enough that I’m curious to explore where the saga takes him next.”

Amid the latest “Superman” discourse, the White House on Thursday shared a photo on social media of Trump’s face superimposed onto Superman’s body on the film’s poster. In response to the odd digital alteration, California Gov. Gavin Newsom’s press office fired back with a familiar point.

“Superman was an undocumented immigrant,” the tweet read.

Liberians confused and angry after Trump’s ‘condescending’ praise for Boakai’s ‘beautiful English’

There was confusion and anger in Liberia on Thursday after President Trump praised the English skills of President Joseph Boakai.

“Such good English,” Trump said to Boakai, with visible surprise. “Such beautiful English.”

English has been the west African nation’s official language since the 1800s. But Trump did not stop there.

“Where did you learn to speak so beautifully?” he continued, as Boakai murmured a response. “Where were you educated? Where? In Liberia?”

The exchange took place during a meeting in the White House between Trump and five West African leaders on Wednesday, amid a pivot from aid to trade in the U.S. foreign policy.

Liberia has had deep ties with the United States for centuries. It was first established with the aim of relocating freed slaves from the United States.

Foday Massaquio, chairman of the opposition Congress for Democratic Change-Council of Patriots, said that while the remarks were typical of Trump’s engagement with foreign leaders, what some saw as the condescending tone was amplified by the fact that the leaders were African.

“As a matter of fact, it also proves that the West is not taking us seriously as Africans,” he said. “President Trump was condescending, he was very disrespectful to the African leader.”

Kula Fofana, spokesperson for Boakai’s office, told The Associated Press: “I believe that as journalists, it is important to focus on the substantive discussions at the summit.”

Close relationship in the past

Trump’s comments added to the sense of betrayal which became palpable in Liberia in recent months.

Earlier this month, U.S. authorities dissolved theU.S. Agency for International Development and said it was no longer following what they called “a charity-based foreign aid model.”

That decision sent shockwaves across Liberia, where American support made up almost 2.6% of the gross national income, the highest percentage anywhere in the world, according to the Center for Global Development.

Liberians thought they would be spared from Trump’s cuts because of the countries’ close relationship. Their political system is modeled on that of the U.S., along with its flag. Liberians often refer to the U.S. as their “big brother.”

Liberia was one of the first countries to receive USAID support, starting in 1961. The street signs, taxis and school buses resemble those in New York.

“In the first place, Liberia is a long standing friend of the USA, therefore Trump should have understood that we speak English as an official language,” said Moses Dennis, 37, a businessman from Monrovia. He added that Boakai did not go to Washington for “an English speaking competition.”

‘Condescending and ridiculing’

His views were echoed by Siokin Civicus Barsi-Giah, a leadership expert and a close associate of former President George Weah.

“Liberia is an English speaking country,” he said. “Former slaves and slave owners decided to organize themselves to let go of many people who were in slavery in the United States of America, and they landed on these shores now called the Republic of Liberia.”

For him, the exchange was “condescending and ridiculing.”

He added: “Joseph Boakai was not praised. He was mocked by the greatest president in the world, who is leading the greatest country in the world.”

Some however said that given Trump’s personal style, Wednesday’s remarks were meant as a praise.

“To some, the comment may carry a whiff of condescension, echoing a long-standing Western tendency to express surprise when African leaders display intellectual fluency,” said Abraham Julian Wennah the director of Research at the African Methodist Episcopal University. “In postcolonial contexts, language has long been weaponized to question legitimacy and competence.”

But if one looks at “Trump’s rhetorical style,” these remarks were “an acknowledgment of Boakai’s polish, intellect, and readiness for global engagement,” he said.

GMB’s Susanna Reid forced to intervene after co-star’s X-rated remark ‘we’re still on air’

Good Morning Britain co-host Susanna Reid was forced to interrupt a conversation about OnlyFans

On Good Morning Britain, Susanna Reid had to step in and humorously remind her colleagues that they were live on air during a cheeky exchange.

The Monday show took an unexpected turn when the panel discussed the earnings potential on OnlyFans, leaving Ed Balls particularly astonished.

Kurts Adams Rozentals, a British canoeist, had earlier shared on the programme that he was raking in a six-figure income from OnlyFans, despite being barred from competition due to “allegations” concerning his social media activity.

While reflecting on the sportsman’s unconventional revenue stream, Ed quipped: “We are in the wrong jobs!”

GMB guest Andrew Pierce then teased: “Ed, are you putting yourself forward as a potential model on OnlyFans?”

Amused by the thought, the former Strictly contestant chuckled: “It’s amazing on the internet what you can make money from.”

Ed Balls was left red-faced

Ed even suggested there might be a “niche” for Andrew, prompting Kevin Maguire to chime in with: “There’ll be a fetish stream!”

Ed, highlighting that making money on OnlyFans isn’t against the law, continued: “Well, Andrew, when you find out how much money he’s making, honestly, you should think about it.”

GB News’ Andrew retorted: “I thought about it, Ed, the answer is no!”

Yet, he couldn’t resist making a playful offer to Ed, joking: “Are you suggesting we do it together? Are you blushing, Ed?”

With Ed turning a shade of red, Susanna quickly interjected as the conversation veered off course. “This is going in a whole different direction!” she exclaimed.

“Blimey!” added Kevin, before Susanna firmly reminded them with a laugh: “We are still on air, guys!”

While Ed isn’t keen on making waves on OnlyFans, he certainly raised eyebrows with Susanna after disclosing a saucy bikini anecdote.

In 2023, he made a surprising revelation about participating in a charity swimsuit competition, boasting: “I’ve got to say, I looked really good.”

Susanna was taken aback by the unexpected viewing of Ed sporting a mankini on GMB.

“Has it been censored?” she quipped, as Ed jestingly responded: “Luckily, you’re not showing the bottom half!”

Susanna then queried, amidst their banter, “Is that an AI mock-up?”

Upon revealing the photographs, Ed shared the family rule his children set regarding the mankini—no wearing without boxers because it is “too revealing.”

“I’d not shaved or anything,” he confided.

“To those claiming it’s too early… you’re absolutely correct,” Susanna retorted. “This’ll be the amusing surprise that just keeps on giving!”

Good Morning Britain airs weekdays at 6am on ITV1.
