‘Best comedy of the century’ fans constantly rewatch is better than The Office

All episodes of the beloved series have found a new streaming home for your next binge watch

Many fans say the series now with a new streaming home is one of their all time favourites.

The show has been labelled as ‘best comedy of the century‘ with many viewers rewatching it constantly. It’s now easier than ever for potentially new audiences to discover it for themselves.

That is because all episodes of Parks and Recreation were just added to a new platform. At the time of writing, it is now available via Paramount+ as of today (August 20).

Users can sign up to the service directly through its own platform and app. Alternatively, those worried about the cost of yet another streaming service can also find the series on Channel 4 or U, at no extra cost.

The advantage of watching on Paramount+ is that viewers can sign up to watch without adverts interrupting their latest binge watch. For those unaware, Parks and Recreation follows the titular department in the local government based in the fictional town of Pawnee, based in Indiana.

There, we find Leslie Knope, the second-in-command of the department. Her life revolves around her work as well as her friends and colleagues. In the early seasons, she does everything she can to help concerned citizen and nurse Ann Perkins turn an abandoned construction site into a new park.

She is somewhat assisted by less enthusiastic colleagues including her boss Ron Swanson and intern April Ludgate. As the show progresses, viewers will see them come across plenty of red tape and other hurdles as they seek to improve their community.

Its impressive cast include Saturday Night Live alum Amy Poehler, now Marvel star Chris Pratt along with the likes of Severance actor Adam Scott, Rob Lowe, Nick Offerman and more.

The show was co-created by Mike Schur and Dan Goor in what was originally seen as a spin-off of The Office US. It eventually developed into a standalone series in its own right.

Schur went on to create other beloved sitcoms after Parks including Brooklyn Nine-Nine, The Good Place and A Man on the Inside for Netflix. However his work on Parks is still praised to this day.

Many fans suggest that it even surpassed The Office. One fan shared their thoughts online, as they posted to Reddit: “Parks and Recreation is better than The Office The first season was rough, but the rest of the show managed to be hilarious and heartwarming – an extremely difficult combo.”

They continued: “I’ve never seen a show with such distinctly interesting characters that was genuinely laugh out loud funny without having to be cringy, and for that, Parks and Rec wins it all in my book.”

Someone else added: “Hilarious, endlessly rewatchable Parks and Recreation is my favourite show of all time.”

While one person claimed: “Absolutely incredible series. In fact it’s probably the best thing to come out of American television ever and that’s the honest truth. It’s so impressive how consistently funny it is after season 2. Could honestly start re-watching it again and again and be content.”

One person went so far as to label it the “best comedy of this century”. As they went on: “This show has everything you would expect in a comedy series. When binge-watching this show I laughed, I cried, I became emotionally attached to characters, I said ‘aw’, I said ‘wow’, I was sad when characters left, I was happy when new characters were added and so on and so forth.

“The writing is fantastic because the various story lines and running gags are completely engrossing and make me laugh every time. The acting is superb because the dialog flows very well and seems very natural, while the improve scenes are absolutely hilarious. I have never laughed out loud so much when watching a show by myself.”

Parks and Recreation is streaming on Paramount+, Channel 4 and U.

‘Sickest’ doc viewers have ever seen is branded an ‘insane’ watch

The new release is rising through the ranks already, but viewers are warned they will need a “sick bucket”

One of the “sickest” documentaries viewers have ever seen is rising up the ranks as a strong fan warning has been issued.

An Amputation Obsession: The Monster and the Surgeon was released on Prime Video earlier this week (August 13) and already it is making waves amongst viewers.

The two-part series delves into the real life disturbing story of NHS vascular surgeon Neil Hopper, from Cornwall, who lost his own legs to amputation.

After claiming a mystery illness resulted in sepsis and injuries to his legs, Neil was seen as a ‘hero’ and a symbol of hope when he documented his journey and recovery, even going back to work.

But years later, police uncovered a dark reality and horrific secrets that Neil kept hidden from everyone. In 2019, he deliberately caused irreversible damage to his legs that resulted in an amputation of both limbs before he claimed hundreds of thousands of pounds in fraudulent insurance payouts.

When a whistle-blower set out to expose an underground network devoted to extreme body modifications, police discovered Neil’s truth.

Rising up the ranks already, an official synopsis reads: “Vascular surgeon Neil Hopper becomes a symbol of hope after losing both legs, until an investigation uncovers a hidden obsession and secret life.”

Some true crime fans have already binged the two part series, and have issued a strong warning. One person took to TikTok to recommend the “crazy” watch as they said in a video: “Honestly, the things what some people get off on never ceases to amaze me.”

In another video, one person said: “Yous need to watch this immediately but get a sick bucket before you do because oh my god, it’s horrifying.”

They went on to say: “The biggest trigger warning that I have ever, ever put on a video needs to be put on this documentary. Let’s just say your jaw will be on the floor.”

Another commented: “Only managed the first episode. Felt way too sick to continue.” One person admitted: “I think it’s the sickest documentary I’ve ever seen.”

Who is ‘Eunuch Maker’ Marius Gustavson and where is he now?

A new true crime documentary revisits the story of an amputee surgeon’s web of lies

A police investigation into human butchery and a monster known as the ‘Eunuch Maker’ is the centre of a new true crime documentary, and it makes for a disturbing watch.

An Amputation Obsession: The Monster and the Surgeon explores the real life story of NHS surgeon Neil Hopper who, in 2019, lost his own legs to amputation following what he said was a result of a mystery illness.

Upon returning back to work, Neil performed amputations as part of his role at the Royal Cornwall Hospital, and often took to social media and news outlets to share his own journey.

He even claimed over £466,000 in insurance payouts after he claimed his injuries were a result of sepsis, becoming somewhat of a national hero and symbol of hope. However, he hid a dark secret that nobody could have guessed.

His leg amputations were a result of self-inflicted injuries, meaning he fraudulently claimed insurance payouts. Not only that, but he was investigated for paying to access a website which sold videos of amputations.

The new documentary explores the disturbing case and Neil’s connection to the ‘Eunuch Maker’.

Who is ‘Eunuch Maker’ Marius Gustavson and where is he now?

The Metropolitan Police were looking into the ‘Eunuch Maker’ website which was run by Marius Gustavson. It offered pay to view access to chilling videos of extreme body modifications and mutilations on customers.

These extreme videos included the cutting the genitals off of men to make them ‘eunuchs’, which is a male who has been castrated. Marius was the ringleader, with the procedures often being carried out in his own home which would sometimes go wrong, meaning ambulances were called.

The programme hears from one journalist who says the nature of the evidence was “so extreme” and hard to hear, with Marius earning around £300,000 in profits from the site over a period of around four years.

After a brave victim came forward, the website was eventually brought down and it was through this investigation that police learned about Neil Hopper’s own involvement and the dark reality about what really happened to his legs.

In May 2024, Marius appeared before the courts and issued a guilty plea to 13 offences including multiple counts of causing grievous bodily harm with intent. He was handed a life sentence with a minimum term of 22 years, meaning he will still be in prison now.

At the time, nine others also received sentences ranging from suspended sentences to 12 years imprisonment for their roles in the investigation.

Homecoming games mark the NBA calendar for 2026-27 season

Jaylen Brown and Giannis Antetokounmpo will play homecoming games a week apart in January.

The 2026-27 NBA schedule was released Thursday, setting the dates for the two former NBA Finals MVPs to return to face the teams that traded them this summer.

The schedules for opening night and Christmas already were unveiled this week, so those two games were among the most intriguing matchups not yet known. Brown, who was dealt from the Celtics to the rival Philadelphia 76ers in a stunning move, will play his first game back in Boston on Jan. 21.

Antetokounmpo was expected to be traded by Milwaukee this offseason — at one point speculation was that he might be swapped for Brown — and eventually was dealt to Miami. The Heat will travel to face the Bucks for the first time on Jan. 28.

Both of those games, which will be on Thursday nights, will stream on Prime Video.

Other details about the schedule:

From start to finish

The season will open Oct. 20 with a tripleheader, highlighted by LeBron James, Brown and the 76ers visiting the New York Knicks, who will receive their rings after winning the franchise’s first championship since 1973.

The regular season ends April 11. All-Star weekend is set for Feb. 19-21 in Phoenix.

Busy nights and nights off

Every team will play on Monday, Nov. 2, and there will then be no games the following night, which is election day in the U.S. The league is leaving that first Tuesday in November as an open day in hopes that fans and members of the NBA community will participate in the voting process.

No teams will play on Saturday, April 10, the second-to-last day of the regular season. Every team is then in action on the final day, with all the games matching Eastern Conference teams and the one interconference matchup scheduled to begin at 6:30 p.m. EDT. The games involving West teams are set for 8:30 p.m.

Where to watch the games

There will be 90 regular-season games televised nationally on ABC or NBC, up from 79 last season. Every team will be scheduled to appear on national TV at least twice.

Throughout the season, games will stream on Peacock on Monday nights, be shown on NBC and Peacock on Tuesdays, be televised by ESPN on Wednesdays, and stream on Prime Video on Fridays.

Saturday night primetime games on ABC begin Dec. 12 with the Knicks visiting the Heat, while NBC’s “Sunday Night Basketball” returns Jan. 24 with Oklahoma City visiting Golden State.

Prime Video will begin streaming Thursday night doubleheaders in January and some Saturday afternoon games starting Feb. 6 with Portland at Memphis, when Ja Morant returns to face the Grizzlies for the first time.

A lot of TV time

The NBA champion Knicks have the most appearances on ABC with six, while the Lakers, 76ers, San Antonio Spurs and Minnesota Timberwolves all are featured on ESPN eight times.

The Knicks, Spurs, 76ers, Thunder, Warriors, Lakers, Denver Nuggets and Houston Rockets all get the maximum 11 appearances on NBC.

Back-to-backs and schedule breaks

Teams will average 14.2 sets of back-to-back games, the lowest total since the NBA Cup was added to the schedule, and no team will have more than 16. No team will play eight games in 12 nights, or 18 in 30.

There are 59 back-to-back games involving at least 750 miles of travel, down from 74 last season.

No team will be scheduled to play the night before games in the NBA Cup, or if they are in nationally televised games on Christmas Day, Martin Luther King Jr. Day, Presidents Day, Sunday nights on NBC or Saturday nights on ABC.

Milestone moments

If Kevin Durant averages 26 points, as he did in his first season in Houston, he could move past Kobe Bryant into fourth place on the career scoring list sometime around Jan. 16, when the Rockets would be at the midpoint of their schedule.

Indiana’s Rick Carlisle is set to become the eighth man to coach 2,000 NBA games on March 8.

Ride or Die fans won’t believe where they have seen Calam Lynch before

The Prime Video action comedy follows an international assassin whose colleague looks very familiar.

Ride or Die viewers may recognise a familiar face from a major Netflix series.

Ride or Die has just dropped on Prime Video and the action comedy series, which has already gone down a huge hit with fans, stars Hannah Waddingham and Octavia Spencer as two unlikely friends on the run.

Ted Lasso star Waddingham’s character is a secret assassin called Judith, who is forced to reveal her identity to her best friend, Debbie (Octavia Spencer).

Also working in Judith’s organisation is Sam, who is in charge of assigning her tasks and tracking her whereabouts, which is easier said than done.

Sam faces many challenges throughout the series as he also has a close bond with Queenie (Savannah Steyn) – the daughter of one of Judith’s oldest acquaintances.

Here is all you need to know about the star behind Sam and where you would have seen him before.

Who plays Sam in Ride or Die?

Sam is played by Calam Lynch, a 31-year-old British actor with a very famous Irish family.

He was born in Warwickshire to Irish actors Niamh Cusack and Finbar Lynch and studied classics at Oxford University, graduating in 2017.

Initially interested in football, he did not discover a passion for acting until speaking to his cousin, the actor Max Irons.

He went on to star in stage productions during his time at university and landed a role in the war film Dunkirk during his final year.

What else has Calam Lynch been in?

Fans will kick themselves when they realise where they have seen Lynch before, as he starred in one of Netflix’s biggest shows.

He played Eloise Bridgerton’s (Claudia Jessie) love interest, Theo Sharpe, in the second season of Bridgerton.

Theo was working at the print shop when Eloise came looking for information about Lady Whistledown, as she’d figured out his shop was where her pamphlets were being printed.

He denied knowing anything, but the pair shared some sweet moments as Eloise kept returning to the shop.

Sadly, Eloise put an end to it all when she said she did not want Theo to face consequences for her actions.

Away from Bridgerton, the star has also had main roles in Sweetpea, Miss Austen and Outrageous.

Ozark star lifts lid on ‘ballsy’ new detective role in crime drama ideal for Sopranos fans

EXCLUSIVE: The Netflix actress unpacked her new crime drama based on a notorious real-life Irish American gang.

Ozark star lifts lid on ‘ballsy’ new detective role

Bosch legend Titus Welliver and Ozark star Jessica Frances Dukes have spoken candidly about portraying a detective partnership in a gritty new period drama.

The Westies, a fresh gangster series which arrived on MGM+ (available through Amazon Prime Video) yesterday, features Netflix actress Dukes as Birdie Polk, who is resolute in her mission to shield New York from a sinister criminal underworld.

Meanwhile, Welliver portrays her hesitant police partner Glenn Keenan, whose complex ties with Eamonn Sweeney (J. K. Simmons), head of Irish American gang The Westies, compels him to navigate a precarious balance between opposing forces.

The Westies, co-created by Narcos’ Chris Brancato and Michael Panes, draws from a genuine Irish American gang which operated from Hell’s Kitchen throughout the 1960s until the late 1980s.

Dukes, who portrays Special Agent Maya Miller in Netflix’s Ozark, shared her thoughts on taking on a markedly different kind of FBI agent.

She said: “I’ve been a fan of Chris Brancato and Michael Panes for a while and being able to dive into one of their worlds was something that was a goal of mine, so to be a part of this was really exciting.

“To jump into FBI world again, at first I was like ‘Do I want to do FBI again?’ and then I read it and I was like, ‘Oh, this chick is not Maya Miller’. And so I was so excited to dive into this ballsy woman. It was so much fun – I loved playing her.”

Considering the broader importance of the role, she added: “She’s given this opportunity to bring these guys down and she’s put in this place of power in [the early 1980s].”

She continued: “There is one woman in a sea of men running this show. I feel like Birdie starts the show with the reward and now it’s all about, ‘Is she going to succeed and prove all the naysayers waiting for her failure wrong?’ And I truly believe she’s got the golden ticket with Keenan.”

Welliver, who portrays the titular Harry Bosch in Bosch on Prime Video, commented on the new series: “For me, it’s very personal because I’m a New Yorker and I was in and around that time.

“All characters are different and Glenn Keenan is the polar opposite of Harry Bosch if you look at these two guys.”

Discussing his character further and how he engages with Simmons’ Sweeney and Dukes’ Polk, he observed: “The scenes with J.K. were great because those worlds are very markedly different.

“Sweeney and Keenan have a long history together, whereas the relationship with Polk and Keenan is new, but there’s an interesting similarity.

“So they’re both trying to puppeteer Keenan and he is basically saying, ‘Nobody has strings on me.’

“And that’s what I think is the interesting aspect of that character and he emerges with a sense of independence, but at a serious cost.”

The official synopsis for The Westies from MGM+ states: “The Westies is a gritty and kinetic crime drama centering on New York City’s infamously violent Irish gang of the same name.

“The series is set in the early 1980s when the construction of the Jacob Javits Convention Center on the Westies’ home turf in Hell’s Kitchen promises a financial windfall.

“Despite being outnumbered fifty-to-one by the Five Families of the Italian Mafia, the Westies’ legendary brutality and cunning have given them the leverage necessary to share the spoils through a fragile détente.

“But internal conflict between the brash younger generation and the old-school leadership threatens to set a match to this powder keg, which will sweep the Westies into the FBI’s ever-deepening investigation into the Italian mafia.”

The Westies premiered on 12th July 2026 exclusively on MGM+ in the UK.

‘Superb’ BBC period drama Pride and Prejudice fans are bingeing ‘three times over’

The ‘beautiful’ BBC period drama is perfect for fans Jane Austen and is based on a literay classic.

Pride and Prejudice fans have been encouraged to rediscover a “brilliant” overlooked period drama.

The sweet romance on Prime Video, situated in the mid-19th century, has earned acclaim for its “beautiful” landscapes and “heartwarming” narrative.

Originally broadcast on the BBC in 2005, the production boasts a stellar ensemble headed by Miss Austen’s Keeley Hawes. Additional cast members include The Crown’s James Murray, Inside No. 9 actor Steve Pemberton and Lark Rise to Candleford star Ben Miles.

Now that the film has become available to stream, audiences have been revisiting the adaptation based on Thomas Hardy’s celebrated novel of the same name.

Under the Greenwood Tree marks the second published work by the English writer Thomas Hardy, initially released anonymously in 1872, reports the Express.

It chronicles the tale of a romance between schoolmistress Fancy Day (Hawes) and church musician Dick Dewey (Murray).

The official synopsis reads: “In this lighthearted romance from Victorian novelist Thomas Hardy, the beautiful new village school teacher is pursued by three suitors: a working-class man, a landowner, and the vicar.”

Helmed by Nicholas Laughland, the production carries a 6.9/10 rating on IMDb and appears not to have received extensive critical assessment at the time of its release.

Audiences have flocked to IMDb to express their admiration for the overlooked period drama, describing it as ‘brilliant’ and ‘perfect comfort viewing’.

One viewer wrote: “In the tradition of Pride and Prejudice, Sense and Sensibility, there is the mix of position, miscommunication, and the delightfulness of authenticity of period. A treat to watch. The acting, script, and setting all played well together. If you adore period romances, then this should go on your list to watch.”

Another fan gushed: “Superb. This film, although made for TV, will be a classic, just like the 1995 Pride and Prejudice directed by Simon Langton. The sets seemed remarkably authentic, and all the cast were excellent […] I have watched it 3 times in two days.”

A third viewer reflected: “The scenery was stunning, the plot had depth and kept me and my family gripped throughout. I thoroughly recommend it to anyone with a warm heart, as it certainly warmed mine.”

“Beautiful film in every way, from the classic Thomas Hardy novel,” another viewer said, while a further admirer agreed: “A thing of beauty and wonder.”

However, not everyone was won over by the film, with one critic labelling it a ‘big let down’ and another commenting: “I usually don’t like Hardy’s stuff… I guess that continues.”

Is there a Season 2 of Prime Video’s It’s Not Like That?

Prime Video’s It’s Not Like That ended on the ultimate cliffhanger and fans are keen to know what happens next.

Prime Video has left viewers with plenty to say following the latest news about It’s Not Like That.

Streaming giant Prime Video has quietly axed a drama that fans hailed as an “emotional rollercoaster” after just a single season. Deadline reported that the eight-episode series, which follows a newly-divorced woman and a recently widowed man as they explore the possibility of a romantic future together, has been shelved.

The show only made its debut at the start of 2026, yet it has been widely reported that it will not be returning for a second run, leaving the couple’s fate hanging in the air. It’s Not Like That is the series in question, sitting alongside major hits such as Clarkson’s Farm.

Deadline noted: “The cancellation of It’s Not Like That is somewhat surprising. In addition to its strong reviews, it seems to have been doing well. Prime Video is not releasing viewership numbers, but it started putting out weekly Top 10 rankings, and the first one, which came out June 3, featured It’s Not Like That at No. 9 on the global series list.”

The Mirror has reached out to Prime Video seeking clarification on the cancellation, which has left devoted fans absolutely furious.

On X, formerly Twitter, one viewer raged: “@PrimeVideo what is this you are doing, cancelling #ItsNotLikeThat?! Great TV. Great writing! Great talent! We have loved this. Why are you doing this? ! Bring it back! Bring it back!”

Over on Reddit, another viewer added: “I actually found it charming and was hoping for more. It was extremely corny, though.”

The finale saw recently widowed minister Malcolm (played by Scott Foley) finally confessing his feelings for Lori (Erinn Hayes), though it emerged this was merely happening inside his own head.

Viewers will now never discover whether Malcolm ultimately chose to share his true emotions with Lori.

Prior to the programme’s axing, one fan wrote on IMDb reviews that they would be “absolutely devastated” if it wasn’t brought back. They said: “I love everything about this show, and will be absolutely devastated if it’s not renewed! It was a beautiful ride through faith, family, friendship, love, relationships.”

Another viewer remarked: “It’s not overly dramatised and doesn’t give you that feeling that the producers are trying too hard for ratings.

“Character development met with healthy emotional moments had me reflecting on my own life and really connecting with the families and their circumstances.

“It was a breath of fresh air in the sense that families of all ages could watch this together without having any inappropriate content to worry about.”

A final fan pleaded: “Please renew this! This show is so raw and emotional and everything I didn’t know that I needed right now. I cried, I laughed, I felt all the emotions with these 2 families.”

It’s Not Like That airs on Prime Video.

Where is Clarkson’s Farm? – The Mirror

Fans have been gripped by the latest dramatic season of Clarkson’s Farm, but where is Diddly Squat actually located?

Fans should definitely pay a visit to The Farmer’s Dog.

Clarkson’s Farm fans want to know exactly where the iconic Diddly Squat Farm location actually is.

Former Top Gear presenter Jeremy Clarkson returned to Prime Video this year with another gripping instalment of the documentary series, which sees him taking on numerous farming challenges to highlight the insurmountable tasks facing modern British farmers.

However, Jeremy faced even more hardship in Season 5 as it kicked off with his emergency heart surgery in October 2024 and concluded with the announcement that he had been diagnosed with prostate cancer.

Thankfully, his cancer is now in remission and Diddly Squat is back in business for Season 6, which is expected to arrive on screens next summer.

Now filming is once again underway, let’s take a look at the precise location of Clarkson’s Farm.

Where is Clarkson’s Farm?

Jeremy’s Diddly Squat Farm is located in the Cotswolds Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty in West Oxfordshire, England.

It’s just a short drive from the market town of Chipping Norton to the north, while to the south is the village of Chadlington.

Diddly Squat’s nearest major city is Oxford, which is about a 50 minute drive away.

The farm is also drivable from London in around two hours.

For visitors who want to reach the farm by public transport, the easiest route from London is the Great Western Railway from Paddington station to Charlbury.

From there, it’s just a 20 minute bus ride on the X9, which runs past the Diddly Squat Farm Shop managed by Jeremy’s partner Lisa Hogan.

If you’re travelling from Birmingham, it’s the Cross Country train to Worcestershire Parkway you want before getting the GWR to Charlbury and taking the same X9 bus. This can take around two and a half hours.

In addition to the farm itself, Jeremy also owns the iconic pub The Farmer’s Dog, which serves Diddly Squat’s very own Hawkstone lager.

The pub is just a half-hour’s drive away from the farm by the Asthall Barrow roundabout on the A40, a few miles from the town of Burford.

While it’s definitely possible to visit both the farm and The Farmer’s Dog in the same day, those using public transport will find the journey a little trickier.

From the shop, you can take the X9 bus back past Charlbury and down to the town of Witney. This takes about 40 minutes.

Visitors can then take the shorter 234 bus to Burford and it’s then just a few minutes’ walk to the pub. All in all the journey should take just over an hour.

Jeremy Clarkson officially confirms Clarkson’s Farm Season 6 is in production after ‘bit of a year’

Jeremy Clarkson took to Instagram this weekend with an exciting update on his hit Prime Video series

The update comes days after his cancer diagnosis was revealed.

Clarkson’s Farm Season 6 is officially in the works at Prime Video, Jeremy Clarkson has confirmed.

The news comes days after the fifth outing of the former Top Gear star’s hit series concluded with the devastating news that he has been diagnosed with cancer.

Jeremy took to Instagram this weekend with a filmed update in front of a Lamborghini tractor.

“So, bit of a year,” he began. “But, I am delighted to tell you that Season 6 of Clarkson’s Farm is currently being filmed. It’s in production.

“And that’s particularly good news for me because… well, if you know, you know.

“And, if you don’t know, you need to watch Season 5.”

Despite Jeremy being diagnosed with an “aggressive” form of prostate cancer, which devastated his farming colleagues Kaleb Cooper and Charlie Ireland in the seventh episode of season five, he’s now confirmed to be cancer free.

The presenter took to Instagram just a couple of hours before the Season 6 announcement to assure fans he’s “perfectly fine” and urging men to get tested.

His update also arrives after Jeremy was spotted with camera crews on Diddly Squat Farm, leading to speculation that Season 6 was almost certainly underway.

Fans can now rest assured that the upcoming instalment is officially in the works and is likely to be released in summer 2027.

One of his followers replied: “I love you Jeremy, love the show and the rest of the crew.”

Someone else exclaimed: “Best news of the day!” And another said: “Wonderful news [heart emoji].”

“Absolutely thrilled,” another fan commented. “Thrilled as your show is one of my all time favourites, but even moreso that you’re all clear health wise! Excitedly awaiting season 6.”

Season 5 was a rocky road for the Diddly Squat crew, which also includes Jeremy’s partner Lisa Hogan and dry stone walling expert Gerald Cooper.

In addition to Jeremy’s cancer diagnosis, the latest instalment kicked off with Jeremy’s emergency heart surgery in late 2024 and saw one of his toughest farming experiences yet as his pregnant cow was slaughtered due to “inconclusive” tuberculosis tests.

However, there were plenty of uplifting moments too as the AI-powered AgBot tractor proved a success and Kaleb welcomed his third child with fiancée Taya.

Jeremy Clarkson, of ‘Top Gear,’ diagnosed with prostate cancer

Jeremy Clarkson, the British television host best known for BBC’s “Top Gear,” revealed this week that he is battling prostate cancer.

The 66-year-old personality unveiled his diagnosis in the two most recent episodes of his farm-keeping series “Clarkson’s Farm,” which streams on Prime Video. He detailed his condition to co-hosts Kaleb Cooper and Charlie Ireland during a filmed discussion about the upcoming harvest at his Diddly Squat farm.

“I’ve got cancer,” he tells his co-stars, after informing them he will need to take some time away from his farm duties. “It’s aggressive but it’s really early.”

Clarkson also told Cooper and Ireland, who seemed visibly stunned about the health revelation, that he has known about his cancer diagnosis since May. The second part of the series’ two-part finale, released Wednesday, concludes with the “Clarkson’s Farm” crew recapping the ups and downs of their harvest year and with the show’s namesake back in a hospital bed. The season began with Clarkson discussing treatment he received for a coronary issue.

“Some of the treatment’s gone a bit awry … so I’m gonna be here for a little while,” he tells the camera crew.

He adds: “If this is all successful, I’ll see you for Season 6, and if it isn’t, I won’t. Take care everyone.”

Clarkson warned of the somber mood of the two episodes on Instagram, informing fans in a video post that they would be anything but “bucolic and charming, and cheerful.”

“They’re a difficult watch,” he says, “they’re really, really difficult.”

Before “Clarkson’s Farm” debuted in June 2021, Clarkson was best known for co-hosting BBC’s popular car show “Top Gear.” BBC fired the host after he was involved in a physical altercation with a producer. Clarkson went on to co-host “The Grand Tour” on Prime Video alongside Richard Hammond and James May, who departed “Top Gear” shortly after their co-host’s firing.

How much did Jeremy Clarkson pay for Diddly Squat Farm?

The new season of Clarkson’s Farm revealed the Top Gear star is losing money from his Diddly Squat project, but how much did he pay for it initially?

He famously only made £144 profit in his first year of farming.

Jeremy Clarkson is back on screens with a fifth season of Clarkson’s Farm, which premiered last week and will return with two more episodes on Wednesday, 10th June.

In the latest instalment of Prime Video’s hit series, Jeremy takes farming to the next level with an awe-inspiring self-driving tractor which even Kaleb Cooper reluctantly admitted was rather impressive.

However, despite his pub The Farmer’s Dog being fully booked every day, Jeremy is still struggling to turn a profit and recorded a loss of more than £8000.

But how much money is the entire project bringing in and how much did Jeremy pay for the farm initially?

Let’s take a look at fans’ burning financial questions ahead of Clarkson’s Farm returning for episodes five and six later this week.

How much did Jeremy Clarkson pay for Diddly Squat?

Although the series started in 2021, Jeremy has actually owned Diddly Squat Farm since 2008.

According to the Daily Mail, he bought it for an eye-watering sum of £4.45 million.

The 1000-acre Cotswolds farm was originally known as Curdle Hill Farm before Jeremy renamed it to reflect his prediction for how much his latest project would earn.

He told The Times about his surprising purchase: “Land is a better investment than any bank can offer. The Government doesn’t get any of my money when I die. And the price of the food that I grow can only go up.”

Jeremy didn’t go full-time on the farm until 2019, however, after former manager Howard Pauling had retired.

How much is Diddly Squat worth now?

Diddly Squat Farm has steadily increased in value since its original purchase in 2008, partly thanks to the luxurious six-bedroom mansion built on the site of the demolished previous home.

All in all, the farm is currently estimated to be worth a staggering £12.5 million, which also includes the land, the farm shop and the café.

Meanwhile, The Farmer’s Dog pub was bought by Jeremy in 2023 for £1 million.

Although it’s unclear how much Jeremy’s refurbishments have increased the pub’s worth, they sadly reported a loss of £8,486 in its first four months of trading.

Jeremy and the cast and crew earn most of their money from their salaries for producing the show, which are kept under wraps.

Reports from 2024 indicated the farm’s assets are worth around £1.43 million, though its profits are usually in the low hundreds if they make any at all.

“I could sell the farm and earn far more from the interest than I do from growing bread and beer and vegetable oil,” Jeremy admitted.

“But I like having it and for very good reasons, there are no death duties on farmland. So my children like me having it too.”

Clarkson’s Farm season 5 continues Wednesday on Prime Video.

‘Breath of fresh air’ comedy starring Martin Clunes is your next one-night binge

The comedy, which originally aired on the BBC in 2019, stars Martin Clunes and Lisa Millett

Martin Clunes ‘breath of fresh air’ sitcom is available to stream for free.

The 6-part show Warren, which first aired on BBC back in 2019, is the perfect one-night binge if you have a few hours to spare.

The comedy features Martin portraying a discontented 50-something driving instructor, Warren Thompson, who is compelled to relocate up north after his partner’s father falls seriously ill.

Despite craving a peaceful existence, Warren finds himself in a place he detests, undertaking a job he’s unsuited for with a family he never anticipated caring for – and is repeatedly drawn into self-created problematic scenarios.

. The synopsis adds: “Warren has a way of knowing best and speaking his mind that inevitably leads to conflict, chaos and disaster for those around him – and especially for himself.

“Warren doesn’t embrace the concept of growing old gracefully. He’s quite happy to keep railing against the world and trying to right perceived wrongs against him. There are no happy endings for Warren as he grapples with the problems and misunderstandings of his own making.”

Starring alongside Martin is Lisa Millett (Robin Hood), who portrays his partner, Anne. The cast also features Tim Preston (One Day) as Charlie, Oscar Morgan (A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms) as Danny and Neil Edmond (Ghosts) as Ian.

While the programme got mixed critical responses, it’s still worth the watch if you’re a Martin Clunes fan and fancy seeing him embody a grumpy, discontented character not far from his legendary role as Doc Martin in the ITV medical drama.

The programme was scored comparatively unfavourably by critics, who collectively rated it at 17 per cent on Rotten Tomatoes.

In its one-star assessment, The Telegraph wrote: “Warren is at once underwritten and, worse, overwritten. There is a failure to follow through with the comic potential in a southerner trapped in the north.”

Meanwhile The Times added: “[Clunes’] nuanced comic turn deserved something rather better than Warren, with its overreliance on comedy staples – a shonky clairvoyant and a competitive next-door neighbour.”

Despite the negative critical response, the show proved more of a hit with viewers and currently holds a 69 per cent score on Rotten Tomatoes.

“This comedy is really well written and a breath of fresh air,” remarked one viewer. “I wasn’t expecting much but I was pleasantly surprised. I seldom laugh out loud, even when humorous, but this had me really laughing.”

Another commented: “Absolutely hysterical, so well written, I don’t understand why they are not making a series 2!”, while a third noted: “It takes an episode or two but it does grow on you. Interesting premise and quite funny. I’m sorry that there isn’t a second series.”

All six episodes of Warren are available to stream on Prime Video
