Heidi Klum kept fans on their toes all day about her costume before slithering up the carpet as Medusa
It is officially the scariest night of the year and, while everyone in Hollywood and beyond has been showing off their elaborate costumes, there is one party we’re all watching.
Heidi Klum has cemented her place as the official Queen of spooky season thanks to her wild, weird and wonderful costumes and her annual bash that attracts celebrities across the globe.
She had kept fans on their toes all day, dropping snippets of her costume on Instagram in the lead up to her party and – despite being one of the last arrivals of the night – and she did not disappoint.
Following her notorious worm and the peacock costume in recent years, the Project Runaway star took her animal theme to new levels as a bright green, and pretty hideous, Medusa.
She slithered up the carpet with several moving snakes protruding from her intricate headpiece, sticking her vile tongue out at the waiting photographers.
Although she warned fans that her costume would be “very ugly”, this probably isn’t what anyone expected.
Heidi collaborated with Oscar-nominated make-up artist Mike Marino once again to pull off her costume, with a team of more than 35 people working hard to ensure she had all eyes on her.
As the festivities continue, here is a look at some of the most impressive outfits at Heidiween 2025 and beyond.
But it’s not all about Hollywood (or Heidiwood). Even politicians are getting in on the action, including President Trump, who is hosting a party at his Florida home.

Heidi Klum’s Medusa turned her husband Tom Kaulitz to stone
Like Heidi, her husband Tom Kaulitz, is never one to shy away from playing dress up.
He was by her side arriving to the party as a man who was unfortunately turned to stone after looking directly at Medusa.
The Tokio Hotel musician committed to the bit by posing with his weapon and shield raised, suggesting Medusa’s appearance caught him by surprise moments before his demise.

Rapper Ice-T and his wife and model Coco arrived at Heidi’s party looking terrifying
Ice-T and Coco Austin have never shied away from going all out for Halloween, and are regulars at Heidi’s annual bash. This year was no different as the rapper looked menacing in a red hooded jumpsuit, hiding his face with a blood-splattered white mask. He had a selection of weapons on hand to make his costume truly terrifying.
Model Coco also got the horror memo in a bright red wig and denim bodysuit, with Chucky’s tagline: “Wanna play?” scrawled across the front, layered on top of a striped, long-sleeved turtleneck top.

YouTuber James Charles carried his head on the carpet
YouTuber James Charles carried his own head as he made his way into the party, reminiscent of Jared Leto’s red carpet arrival at the 2019 Met Gala.
The beauty vlogger put his own spin on things as a “headless horseman” and even filmed a make-up tutorial on Instagram for his unique accessory.

Glee star Darren Criss and his wife Mia Swier went for a Shrek theme
Darren Criss may have taken some inspiration from his host as he donned a Shrek costume, including bright green face paint, a prosthetic nose and huge stomach, which he patted in front of the cameras.
Not quite as epic as when Heidi did the same in 2018, the Glee star switched his efforts up with tartan red trousers alongside wife Mia Swier – who chose not to be his Princess Fiona, but instead Puss in Boots, complete with a black cape and a hair thong.

Olympian Ilona Maher stunned on the carpet as a real-life Barbie
Olympian Ilona Maher was a real-life vintage Barbie at Klum’s Halloween party, modelling a strapless sparkly custom black Undone by Kate gown. She accessorized simply with black opera gloves and a chunky gold necklace.
Unveiling her outfit on Instagram, the rugby player proudly posed with her very own Barbie doll, as well as a handkerchief emblazoned with the phrase: “Beast. Beauty. Brains. Barbie.”

Not every costume has gone down well, with some saying that US model Julia Fox’s costume as a blood-soaked Jackie Kennedy was in poor taste.
Other highlights on social media include Kim Kardashian and Kanye West’s daughter North West and her friends dressing up as Japanese kawaii-metal band BABYMETAL.

Comedian Amelia Dimoldenberg depicted herself as the divorce of Lily Allen and David Harbour
The night earlier, on the eve of Halloween, she went to a party in New York as the divorce of singer Lily Allen and Stranger Things actor David Harbour. Dressed as Harbour’s sheriff character, she listened to the latest Allen album, which references their breakup.
Meanwhile, US Vice-President JD Vance wore a wig as he became the bizarre meme-version of himself. That same meme is alleged to have gotten a Norwegian tourist banned from the US earlier this year.

The second season of Love Is Blind’s UK season came to a dramatic end today – and fan favourite couple Kieran and Megan have ‘convinced’ fans their love is still going strong

Netflix fans have been hooked on the second season of Love Is BlindUK, which came to a dramatic end today.
It was no surprise that Kieran and Megan said ‘I do’ at the altar– and although they’re sworn to secrecy on what happened after until the reunion, they’ve dropped some major hints that they’re still in love.
Megan and Kieran connected from the moment they met in the Netflix pods, although Kieran also struck up a connection with Sophie. It came crashing down pretty quickly, however, when she realised Kieran had given Megan a cute gift – whereas she was left empty-handed.

A distraught Sophie quit the process, and Megan and Kieran went on to get engaged, and later married, in today’s epic finale. It looks like their love story has continued to blossom, as they’ve dropped major clues they’re still together over on Instagram.
Fans witnessed a fairy tale wedding between the two, with Kieran breaking down in tears when he laid eyes on his bride. ” I still can’t quite believe how perfect you are for me … We’re living our fairytale right now, and Megan, you’re my happily ever after,” he said.
Although fans only witnessed the weddings today, they were actually filmed last year. The contestants have been sworn to secrecy, although some fans were left ‘fuming’ with their hints on TikTok before the wedding ceremony. ***Warning: Love Is Blind UK Season 2 spoilers ahead***

To no one’s surprise, Kieran and Megan have dropped the biggest hints yet that they’re together, as their pictures have coincidentally shared the same background more than once.
Before the finale dropped, eagle eyed fans noticed that the two had taken a trip to Frankfurt, Germany at the same time. Although they were careful not to include each other – they weren’t fooling Netflix fans.

Dropping an even more telling clue, fans noticed that the couple have the same background when posting in their houses – ‘confirming’ that they’re still married a year on from the show.
“Megan and Kieran are very married, you can see from the photos/videos that the house is the same, I love them,” wrote one fan on X, formerly known as Twitter, while another said: “I hope they are married. Because look at these photos!!! Aaahhh!”
Fans have spotted eerie similarities…(Image: X/isa/@belabusada)
Although fans are convinced the couple are still very much together, they’ll have to wait until Sunday, 31 August for the reunion show, where each couple’s status will be confirmed.
During the final two episodes, we also saw Kal and Sarover and Ashleigh and Billy tie the knot. However, Bardha shockingly said no to Jed at the altar – but have they kept a relationship going?
Megan Romano announced as first female competitor at 2026 debut of Olympic-style Enhanced Games in Las Vegas.
The Olympic-style sport venture that will run an event next year with no drug testing signed world-champion swimmer Megan Romano as its first female and first US athlete.
The Enhanced Games will debut next May in Las Vegas, featuring swimming, track and weightlifting competitions in an event that will allow athletes to use performance enhancers.
Romano calls competing in the event “an opportunity to push the boundaries of human performance in a transparent and scientifically-backed environment, and to compete on a stage where female athletes are valued and compensated fairly. equally. I believe this is the future of sport.”
The Enhanced Games will offer a prize purse of $500,000 for each event, with $1m bonuses going to anyone who breaks a world record in the 100-metre sprint (track) and 50-metre freestyle (swimming).

Those marks would not count as “official”, because world records need to be ratified by international federations, which require record-breakers to pass doping tests.
The International Olympic Committee has condemned the concept of the Enhanced Games, saying, “If you want to destroy any concept of fair play and fair competition in sport, this would be a good way to do it.”
But the games have built some momentum and raised money in the “double-digit millions,” according to founder Aron D’Souza.
Four male swimmers, including Olympic medallist James Magnussen of Australia, have committed to the games.
Romano, a standout swimmer at Georgia in college, anchored the US 4×100 freestyle relay team to a gold medal at world championships in 2013.
Love Island star Megan Forte Clark has opened up on her time in the villa admitting that she saw red “for days”

Megan Forte Clark confessed that she “saw red” in the Love Island villa and is now dishing on her biggest regret.
In last month’s show, during the first public vote, viewers were tasked with choosing their least favoured couple, leading to Remell Mannings and Megan being booted off the island.
The 24-year-old brunette, who found herself entangled in a love triangle with Conor Philips despite being initially paired with Tommy Bradley, was seen locking lips with Conor on the terrace – later spilling to the other girls: “I kissed Conor on the terrace… I was like ‘just f**king kiss me then… he was itching to do it.”
Following a dramatic confrontation, Tommy washed his hands of the romantic tug-of-war, leaving Conor free to pursue Megan – but fate had other plans as a surprise public vote saw her leave the villa soon after.
Megan opened up about the conversation between herself and Tommy viewers didn’t get to see(Image: ITV)
Speaking candidly to Ode Entertainment post-villa life, Megan opened up about the tensions between herself, Tommy, and Conor, revealing an impulsive side she now regrets.
On TikTok, the lass from Dublin divulged: “I wish I’d taken a breath”, adding a frank admission: “You know when you hear something and you just see red, and I saw red for about four days.”
She lamented the poorly timed intervention by Conor, stating: “And then obviously while I was seeing red, Conor swooped in so it was just really bad timing. Of course, you only see the hour out of the 24.”

Confirming her and Tommy parted ways amicably, the musical theatre star stated: “When you see red like that, someone needs to sit you down and say like ‘girl’.”
She elaborated: “I felt like the girls were seeing where I was coming from, so I think that’s why I got more wound up.”
Viewers promptly took to social media to share their opinions, with one fan suggesting: “Bring her back for Casa.” Meanwhile, another insisted: “Please bring her back for Casa.”
Following Megan’s exit, which tugged at the heartstrings, Tommy is now coupled up with Emily, who previously paired with Conor. The atmosphere intensified as a tearful Conor questioned Megan: “Will you wait for me?” to which she tenderly responded: “I’ll wait for you.”
Adding to the drama, Conor confessed to Ben that he sees Megan as potential girlfriend material outside of the show.

Love Island fans hit out at Megan and Conor’s actions as the Irish duo left their current partners to share a night together in the Hideaway following their kiss on the Terrace

Love Island fans were left unimpressed as Irish duo Megan and Conor went for a cosy getaway in the hideaway. Despite not being coupled up, the duo are growing closer following a sneaky kiss on the terrace while Conor’s partner Emily was away from the villa.
After returning, Emily wanted clear the air talks with her man and headed to the Snug for a chat. There, however, he told her about his kiss with Megan.
Speaking of his actions, Emily said: “That’s quite intense… I thought Megan was more into Tommy to the point where she wouldn’t have done that…”
And in an honest confession, Conor told her: “My head has been with her [Megan].” Emily replied: “I wouldn’t have cared about the kiss…the words ‘while you were away my head was with her’ pushes me out of the equation.”
Emily was left in tears (Image: ITV/Shutterstock)
And later that evening, Conor told Emily that he and Megan will be spending the night together in the Hideaway. Megan and Conor then shared a kiss in and Conor went as far as giving Megan his bracelet.
His actions upset fans online, with one user on Twitter /X saying: “Conor didn’t care one bit about dumping Emily. She basically did it without him asking.” Another fumed: “OMG not Megan and Conor going to the hideaway MINUTES after dumping Emily and Tommy.”
While speaking to Tommy and Harry and the bathroom, Emily said: “I don’t expect anything from him, but from her [Megan], I would’ve expected more.”
The next day, Tommy and Emily caught up by the mini Firepit, as he told her: “I don’t know why I’ve been moving so closed off,” before Emily told him: “Now is your time to shine darling.”
Elsewhere, tensions in the villa have reached an all-time high as not one but two couples split after the fallout from unexpected Sleepover. Yasmin found herself hit with a difficult truth when Ben finally admits that his feelings have cooled.
After pulling his partner for a chat, Ben said directly: “I feel like we went from 0 to 100 real quick and I’m going to be taking a step back.”
The timing of Ben’s confession is particularly brutal, coming just one night after fans were left speculating about what may have happened between the two under the covers. Yasmin, unaware of his growing doubts, could be blindsided by the sudden change in tone.
Love Island continues tomorrow at 9pm on ITV2 and ITVX
By Megan Abbott G.P. Putnam’s Sons: 368 pages, $30 If you buy books linked on our site, The Times may earn a commission from Bookshop.org, whose fees support independent bookstores.
Leave it to Megan Abbott to tap into the American zeitgeist and play on her readers’ fears like a conductor leading a doomsday orchestra. As high school and college graduates across the country celebrate the completion of a major milestone, they — and their nervous parents — are looking ahead to a future marked by political uncertainty and economic insecurity.
In an eerie echo, Abbott begins “El Dorado Drive,” her 11th novel, with a graduation party at the beginning of the Great Recession. Though the party is not a lavish affair — just a gathering for friends and family in the backyard of a rental property on El Dorado Drive in Grosse Pointe, Mich. — it’s more than Pam Bishop can afford, and every one of her guests knows it.
Any party, no matter how modest, reminds Pam and her two older sisters, Debra and Harper, of all that they’ve lost. Born into a world of wealth and privilege thanks to Detroit’s automotive-fueled postwar prosperity, the Bishop sisters — along with their parents, their peers and their children — watched it all disappear during the decline of the American automobile industry.
Pam’s ramshackle rental on El Dorado Drive, though several steps down from the home she grew up in or the mansion she moved into when she got married, is a symbol of the reckless pursuit of wealth that destroys those who can’t see through the illusion.
“When you grow up in comfort and it all falls away — and your parents with it — money isn’t about money,” Abbott writes. “It’s about security, freedom, independence, a promise of wholeness. All those fantasies, illusions. Money was rarely about money.”
For Pam’s ex-husband, Doug Sullivan, money is a game to be played in order to get what he wants, and he will stop at nothing to get it. But when Pam is brutally murdered in the opening pages, he emerges as a prime suspect. The first half of the novel backtracks from the discovery of Pam’s body to the graduation party nine months prior, when each Bishop sister is struggling with serious financial hardship.
Locked in an acrimonious divorce with no end in sight, Pam doesn’t know how she’s going to pay her son’s college tuition or handle her rebellious teenage daughter alone. The oldest sister, Debra, is buried under a mountain of medical bills while her husband suffers through another round of chemotherapy and her son slips away in a cloud of marijuana smoke. Harper, the middle child, struggles to make ends meet while rebounding from a relationship that ended in heartbreak.
The solution to their money problems arrives in the form of a secret investment club called the Wheel. Run for and by women who have fallen on hard times, the program is simple but sketchy. It costs $5,000 to join, but once the new members recruit five new participants, they are “gifted” five times their initial buy-in.
If this sounds too good to be true, you have more sense than the Bishop sisters. Such is their desperation they don’t quite allow themselves to see this is a fairly basic pyramid scheme that depends on fresh blood — and their bank accounts — to keep the Wheel turning.
The novel follows Harper, the outsider in the family, due to the fact that she’s never married nor had children. She’s not part of the community, either, because she’s recently returned to Grosse Pointe after time away to mend her broken heart. The first half of the novel concerns the Bishops’ dynamics and their found family in the Wheel, which operates like a combination of a cult and a recovery group for women who’ve lost everything.
At a moment of vulnerability, Harper is buttonholed by an old classmate named Sue. “It’s called the Wheel because it never stops moving,” Sue said. Twice a month, we meet. A different member hosts each time, and the meetings were just parties, really. And at these parties, they took turns giving and receiving gifts to one another. To lift one another up. As women should, as they must.”
Behind the rhetoric of sisterhood lurks avarice and greed. When Harper asks Pam if anyone ever left the group after just one turn of the Wheel, Pam — a true believer — can’t fathom backing out of the group. “Why would anyone do that?” she asks.
The answer proves to be her undoing, and the second half of “El Dorado Drive” follows Harper as she tries to solve her sister’s murder. It’s a classic whodunit story with Harper — who has plenty of secrets of her own — playing the role of the reluctant detective.
Despite the book’s suggestive title, the landscape is anything but illusory for Abbott, who grew up in Grosse Pointe and spent the first 18 years of her life there. Evoking a rich setting has never been a weakness of Abbott’s stories. Her novels have a hyperreal quality and are often populated by characters churning with desires they cannot manage.
Abbott is especially adept at rendering the hot, messy inner lives of young people and at making a book’s backstory as suspenseful as the narrative engine that drives the plot. In “El Dorado Drive,” however, the focus is on adults, and the past mostly stays in the past. The result is a novel in which the story is straightforward and the stakes are low. Nevertheless, true to her penchant for shocking violence, Abbott delivers a revolting revelation that sets up a series of twists that propels the story to its inevitable, but no less satisfying, conclusion.
But then there’s the matter of the Wheel. When we watch a video of people in a boat who are drinking, carrying on and disobeying the rules of the road, we don’t feel badly for them when they end up in the water, no matter how spectacular the crash, because they brought it on themselves.
The same logic applies to the participants in the Wheel. We can empathize with the calamities that prompted these characters to take such foolish chances, but we would never make those choices ourselves.
Or would we?
One could argue that our era will be defined not by whether the American dream lives or dies but by the questionable choices of our political leaders and, by extension, the people who elected them. We may not know where we’ll be tomorrow, but Abbott knows wagering that the wheel of grift, greed and corruption will keep on turning is always a safe bet.

The Bruin Bombers. The Bash Brothers. The Splash Brothers.
Jordan Woolery and Megan Grant are open to any nicknames that reflect their standing as college softball’s most formidable hitting duo.
“Whatever anyone wants to call us,” Woolery said, “we don’t even care.”
Any credible nickname must recognize their staggering power. Bonus points are available for a reference to their native Bay Area. What’s not negotiable is the conveying of their connection, both as the best of friends and their proximity in UCLA’s batting order.
Woolery hits third, followed by Grant in the cleanup spot. It has been that way in every lineup card this season except for the three games in which Grant was either limited to pinch-hitting duties or sidelined because of a minor hamstring injury.
The payoff of pairing them together has been historic, a combination as proven as peanut butter and jelly or Simon and Garfunkel.
The junior sluggers have combined for more home runs (47) and runs batted in (161) than any other pair of hitters in the nation, vaulting the ninth-seeded Bruins (52-10) into the Columbia Super Regional to face eighth-seeded South Carolina (43-15). The best-of-three series starts at 10 a.m. PDT Friday in Columbia, S.C., the opener televised by ESPN2.
“The numbers that they’re putting up,” UCLA coach Kelly Inouye-Perez said of what might go down as the best hitting combo in school history, “are exciting and loud. These two are doing things that you just don’t see.”
Their spots in the order always start with the same ritual — a bat tap, accompanied by Woolery saying, “I got you.” Grant often returns the favor, especially when her teammate gets on base.
Early this season, after Arizona walked Woolery on four pitches, Grant smashed a three-run home run, providing the Wildcats extra reminders about why that was a bad idea.
“What I did was chest-bump Jordan about 50 times when we hit home plate together,” Grant said. “It was just the hypest moment, honestly.”
Woolery and Grant can often be found together in the dugout, on team planes or at Lamonica’s NY Pizza, their go-to stress relief spot in Westwood Village. They’re not roommates but might as well be; they invariably reside in one of their rooms long before the first pitch when Woolery braids Grant’s hair while watching “Catfish,” a favorite television show.
When a reporter inquired about their palpable bond, Grant cracked, “You can feel the aura?”
Both players immediately cracked up.
Separating the inseparable pair is a no-no. The last time it happened, amid a rare slump late last season, Inouye-Perez made the mistake of not putting them back to back in the batting order. They went a combined two for eight and made sure their coach knew about it the next day.
“It’s just the vibe was off, for sure,” Grant said, “so we had to talk to ‘Coach I’ about it.”
The Bruins’ Jordan Woolery has 22 home runs, 82 RBIs and a .423 batting average this season.
(Kyusung Gong / Associated Press)
Said Woolery: “Since then, we haven’t left each other’s side.”
Why would they?
Woolery and Grant’s RBI total is the highest by any duo in school history, surpassing the 158 RBIs that Stacey Nuveman and Julie Marshall tallied on the way to helping the Bruins win the 1999 NCAA championship.
When informed of the feat, after they had combined for 13 RBIs last weekend during the Bruins’ record-setting regional romp while outscoring three opponents by a combined 31-2, Grant placed her hand over her mouth in disbelief. Catcher Alexis Ramirez, seated next to Grant and Woolery in the interview room, patted Grant on the shoulder.
“Oh my God,” Ramirez said, offering another nickname, “Smash Brothers.”
Grant then threw an arm around Woolery in celebration, the teammates smiling widely.
“If Meg wasn’t awesome,” Woolery said, “I couldn’t be awesome, so just grateful to have her by my side.”
There’s symmetry in almost everything they do. Both players were finalists for USA Softball collegiate player of the year and have been first team all-conference selections in every season at UCLA.
Megan Grant (43), joining teammates in a celebratory “night night” gesture after hitting a home run Friday against UC Santa Barbara, has 25 home runs and 79 RBIs this season.
(Carlin Stiehl / Los Angeles Times)
Grant’s 25 homers are tied with Ohio State’s Jasmyn Burns for the most in a single season by any Big Ten Conference player. If Grant hits another homer, she’ll break the conference record since Ohio State has been eliminated from the NCAA tournament.
Woolery, who has hit 22 homers, leads the team with 82 RBIs, and her .423 batting average trails only Savannah Pola’s .437. Collectively, the Bruins comprise one of the most fearsome lineups in the country, having piled up a team-record 28 mercy-rule wins.
Hitting coach Lisa Fernandez won’t rate Woolery or Grant over the other in terms of power.
“Oh, no,” Fernandez said with a laugh. “I mean, they’re both powerful. And I give them credit — as powerful as they are, they don’t just rely on that, you know what I mean? They understand when they need to go for theirs, they understand the process.
“I think they push each other, but they do it in a way that is also embracing each other’s gifts and successes, and I think that is a credit to them and the relationship that they have. We make a conscious effort to understand that one helps the other. The better Jo does, Megan has a chance to pick up RBIs and when Megan does great, Jordan, you’re going to see pitches, so you work together, they make each other great.”
Woolery and Grant have known each other since committing to UCLA when they were in the eighth grade. Even then, Fernandez said, she realized they “may be the best one-two combo in terms of power numbers that have played this game in terms of being back to back.”
Although Woolery dabbled in basketball growing up, Grant was once so smitten with the sport that she thought it was going to be her pathway to a Division I college scholarship. She even earned the nickname “Chef Megan” — a play on Golden State Warriors star Stephen Curry’s nickname — before all of the hoopla about sticking with basketball ended when her travel-team coach told her that softball was her calling.
UCLA infielders Jordan Woolery (15) and Megan Grant (43) during a win over UC Santa Barbara. The two combined for 13 RBIs as the Bruins dominated their own regional tournament.
(Carlin Stiehl / Los Angeles Times)
Grant’s toughness is rooted in playing baseball alongside two older brothers who spared no sympathy.
“Being the baby didn’t really mean anything to them, you know?” Grant said. “It was always hardcore — if you can’t catch, get out, that type of stuff.”
That sort of mentality comes in handy for both players while taking batting practice from Fernandez, widely regarded as the top pitcher in softball history.
“Having the greatest pitcher pitch to you after practice,” Woolery said, “that’s a dream, honestly.”
Although it would have been easy for one slugger to try to top the other, they immediately realized that pulling together would only amplify the possibilities.
“At the end of the day,” Woolery said, “our goal is to win a national championship, so we can’t do that if we’re competing against each other, you know?”
Grant likes to say that she has the best seat in the house, watching Woolery hit from the on-deck circle. Whenever one of the — insert nickname here — hits a home run, she always finds her beloved teammate in the dugout, leading to an embrace.
“It’s just like such a bliss moment,” Woolery said. “Just seeing Meg do her thing, it’s so special.”
Pressed about the nickname possibilities, both players finally acknowledge they do have a favorite.
Not surprisingly, it’s the same one, created by Vinny Lavalsiti, a member of the school’s athletics communications staff.
