FUMING

McDonald’s has ditched a popular meal deal and customers are fuming

MCDONALD’S fans are demanding the return of a much-loved breakfast deal that fans called “a lifesaver”.

The fast food chain has withdrawn its £2.99 breakfast consisting of a Sausage and Egg McMuffin with a hot drink, leaving customers angrily vowing to breakfast elsewhere.

One said on Reddit.com: “The only thing I would get from McDonald’s recently would be the £2.99 sausage and egg McMuffin and a drink deal.

“Now that’s disappeared from my local, I can’t justify the prices on anything else!”

Another said on X.com, formerly known as Twitter: “McMuffin and Hot Drinks deal needs to be brought back.

“It was a lifesaver for people who are tight on money.

“I went to Lichfield this morning and was shocked to see it’s no longer there. Went to @GreggsOfficial instead.”

A third added: “What’s happened to your breakfast McMuffin and hot drink deal? Really disappointed it disappeared from the menu.

“It just sends me and others to @GreggsOfficial who do an amazing breakfast deal.”

Meanwhile, a fourth fan fumed: “Shame on you for taking £2.99 sausage egg McMuffin & hot drink deal off!!

“Do you know how many struggling UK citizens relied on this for a substantial breakfast? Now at £5, it’s out of their range.”

Another said: “Rip McMuffin and coffee breakfast deal, you will be missed.”

McDonald’s launches brand-new burger featuring never-before-seen sauce

It’s understood the deal was a limited offer in participating stores, meaning it wasn’t a permanent menu fixture.

Last year, the same items were available for £2.79, but the 20p price rise didn’t put fans off.

Buying the same items would now cost around £4.80, with a sausage and egg McMuffin priced at £3.39 and a regular white coffee is £1.39.

McDonald’s is currently offering its Breakfast Saver Menu, which in some branches includes a separate £2.99 deal for a Saver Bacon Roll and a drink.

A McDonald’s spokesperson told The Sun: “We know how much our customers enjoy our iconic breakfast offerings and it was great to [see] the popularity of that Breakfast Deal.

“We’re always evolving our menu to keep things fresh and exciting for our customers, and we regularly review our Saver Menu to ensure it offers choice for all.”

In comparison, Greggs offers a breakfast roll meal deal for £2.85.

This includes a breakfast roll with one filling as well as a regular hot drink or a 250ml bottle of orange juice.

Other McDonald’s news

It comes as McDonald’s fans were devastated after the chain stopped selling its triple cheeseburger.

McDonald’s also axed several items last week to make way for the new menu offering.

Among them were the Cheesy Garlic Bread Dippers, Lotus Biscoff McFlurry, Steakhouse Stack and McSpicy x Frank’s RedHot.

The menu update comes after the fast food chain discontinued the Chicken Bacon Caesar Wrap last month.

McDonald’s said it was part of a “rotation” of its wrap offering.

The wrap, which combined chicken breast strips, crispy onions, rashers of bacon and lettuce, was first launched in summer 2023.

Meanwhile, Tesco has axed its Pink and Cloudy Lemonade in a blow to fizzy drink fans.

Tesco’s Cloudy Lemonade is also being replaced with a new product called Lemon Zero.

How to save at McDonald’s

You could end up being charged more for a McDonald’s meal based solely on the McDonald’s restaurant you choose.

Research by The Sun found a Big Mac meal can be up to 30% cheaper at restaurants just two miles apart from each other.

You can pick up a Big Mac and fries for just £2.99 at any time by filling in a feedback survey found on McDonald’s receipts.

The receipt should come with a 12-digit code which you can enter into the Food for Thought website alongside your submitted survey.

You’ll then receive a five-digit code which is your voucher for the £2.99 offer.

There are some deals and offers you can only get if you have the My McDonald’s app, so it’s worth signing up to get money off your meals.

The MyMcDonald’s app can be downloaded on iPhone and Android phones and is quick to set up.

You can also bag freebies and discounts on your birthday if you’re a My McDonald’s app user.

The chain has recently sent out reminders to app users to fill out their birthday details – otherwise they could miss out on birthday treats.

My neighbour chopped all our trees down without our permission – our garden’s now a mess & I’m fuming

A WOMAN has been left fuming after claiming her ‘psycho’ neighbour chopped down her garden’s trees without permission.

In a video, she shared the before and after of her outdoor space, with her garden looking like a mess after the massacre.

On her account, she shared the entire story – and people are split in the comments.

She claimed: “About two months ago, our neighbor asked us to remove our trees because flowers were falling into his yard.

“Of course I felt terrible but we said no, because I loved those trees for many reasons. “However, we immediately had them professionally cut back (which we do every other year, per our landscaper’s recommendation). He lost it.

“He sent a bunch of unhinged messages to my husband but we thought it had blown over after we had the trees cut back and the flowers stopped blooming.

“Fast forward to this past weekend, while we weren’t home (which he knew), they were mysteriously chopped down. Every last one.

“They were cut aggressively and conveniently in a way that ensured nothing fell into his yard.”

She shared how she had asked neighbours if they had seen what happened – and word got back to the person they suspect did it.

The woman claims he then started sending her husband “threatening messages” filled with “profanity and intimidation.”

The social media user said she wasn’t sharing the story for sympathy but because she felt “heartbroken”.

She said she has filed a police report and is trying to get justice over the incident.

People were quick to tune in on the tree debacle, with one saying: “Huge trees are a pain in a garden but you cannot just go in neighbors garden and cut them down!”

Another also supported her saying: “What type of psycho goes to another person’s yard and cuts down their trees!!!!

“It’s truly insane. I’m sorry this was done to you.”

However, some people took the neighbour’s side.

One wrote: “Why do people plant their trees so close to the border?”

Another added: “understand your feelings but anything hanging over his yard I presume he can legally cut back?”

What are your rights if a neighbour’s tree hangs into your garden?

In order to prevent overhanging branches turning into furious rows between neighbours, Natalie Welsh, head of property at HCB Widdows Mason shared what your rights are in this tricky situation.

“It can be really frustrating when branches or plants from your neighbour’s garden start to spill over into your space”, she said.
“In England and Wales, you’re allowed to cut back any branches that cross onto your property, but only up to the boundary line.

“Just make sure you don’t step onto your neighbour’s land or damage the tree itself.”

When trimming a tree back, you are not allowed to lean into your neighbour’s garden, since that can be considered trespassing.

Natalie advised that before taking any drastic action, it’s best to have a friendly chat with your neighbour first.

Rules on fences and trees

Fences:

  • Height Restrictions: In most areas, fences in front gardens should not exceed one metre in height without planning permission. For rear gardens, the limit is generally two metres.
  • Shared Fences: If a fence is shared with a neighbour, both parties are typically responsible for its maintenance and any costs associated with repairs or replacement.
  • Building Regulations: Ensure that any new fence complies with local building regulations and does not obstruct visibility for drivers or pedestrians.

Trees:

  • Ownership: Trees located on your property are your responsibility, including any damage they may cause. Conversely, trees on a neighbour’s property are their responsibility.
  • Overhanging Branches: You are entitled to trim branches that overhang into your property, but only up to the boundary line. The cut branches should be offered back to the tree owner.
  • Protected Trees: Some trees are protected by Tree Preservation Orders (TPOs). Check with your local council before undertaking any work on a tree, as unauthorised work can result in fines.
  • Roots: If tree roots from a neighbour’s tree cause damage to your property, you have the right to remove the roots. However, it is advisable to discuss this with your neighbour first to avoid disputes.

Always consult your local council or a legal adviser for specific regulations and advice.

Love Island fans fuming as popular Islander brutally dumped from villa in ‘unfair’ twist

A Love Island favourite was dumped from the villa during tonight’s episode in yet another brutal twist – but fans have been left fuming the bombshell had been sent packing early

Toni and Malisha
The third Love Island dumping had fans fuming(Image: ITV)

This year’s Love Island is one of the most brutal series yet – with twists coming left right and centre. Tonight another shock twist saw the third dumping of the series following a savage twist.

Last night, fans watched on as the Islanders engaged in yet another recoupling, where the power was in the hands of the boys. Bombshells Toni and Malisha were left single and were told their fate would be in the hands of new bombshell Harrison.

They both headed out for a date with the 22-year-old bombshell, but he was only able to pick one to return. In tonight’s episode it was revealed that Harrison decided to bring Toni back – meaning Malisha was sent packing.

(Image: ITV)

However, fans had branded the twist “unfair” as Harrison and Toni had common ground in the fact that they both lived in America. Toni is currently residing in Las Vegas, while Harrison, from Derby, lives in Miami. That’s not all – the two also shared a connection as they discovered that they attended the same colleague in the States.

Taking to X, formerly known as Twitter, one fan penned: “TONI AND HARRISON ARE FROM THE SAME AREA AS WELL? THIS IS SO F******G UNFAIR AND IM SO PISSED #loveisland,” as another penned: “This is so unfair he will obviously choose Toni.”

(Image: ITV)

Fans were left gutted when they realised Malisha had been dumped as Harrison walked in with Toni. Taking to X, formerly known as Twitter, one fan penned: “Malisha deserved better!! #LoveIsland“.

Another echoed: “MY MALISHA DESERVED TO STAY #loveisland,” while a third disappointed fan said: “I need Toni to stay, but also Malisha doesn’t deserve to go home. A fourth called on the producers to bring the star back, writing: “They need to bring Malisha back!!”

Malisha’s shock exit comes just days after her arrival. She arrived alongside bombshells Emily and Yasmin, as they gate crashed the boys’ night, unaware that the girls were watching.

She chose to go on a date with Dejon, which Meg wasn’t best pleased with. The pair continued to have some heated conversations in the villa, and at one point it looked like Dejon’s head could be turned.

However, he chose to stick in his original couple, as last night he said he wanted to couple up with “my Meg” as the Islanders gathered around the firepit.

Love Island fans fuming as show ‘scraps’ iconic segment following huge cliffhanger

Love Island fans were left on a huge cliff hanger following new bombshell Harrison’s arrival during tonight’s show – but left fuming after a key segment was ‘missing’ from the show

After an eventful night in the Love Island villa following a tense recoupling, the Islanders were left in even more shock with the arrival of new bombshell Harrison Solomon. He had a dramatic entrance to the show, as he was told he had the power to dump one of the single girls.

Harrison’s arrival came after a shock recoupling, in which the power was in the boys hands. Following the eventful night, both Malisha and Toni were left single – and they were both sent on dates with the bombshell. However, they were told Harrison would decide who to bring back after the date – with the other dumped.

As always, fans were left on a dramatic cliff hanger, as it’s not clear whether Malisha or Toni will be sent home. Fans will have to tune in tomorrow to see their fate – but they were left fuming that they weren’t even graced with a teaser for “tomorrow night” at the end of the show.

Love Island fans are regularly treated to a dramatic teaser of what’s to come the following night at the end of the show, with voiceover Ian Sterling exclaiming: “Tomorrow Night!” However, fans can’t help but notice the lack of snippets they’ve been given this series, and they’re less than impressed.

Taking to X, formerly known as Twitter, one fan penned: “The lack of Tomorrow night promo is pmo, I need to know what’s going to happen so I can mentally prepare myself #LoveIsland #LoveIslandUK,” as another said: “where did the tomorrow night promos go? #LoveIsland #LoveIslandUK”

A third enraged fan penned: “7 days and no tomorrow night? Is the editor not getting paid enough? #Loveisland,” while a fourth joked: “Why are they suddenly allergic to the ‘Tomorrow Night’ promos?! #LoveIsland #LoveIslandUK.”

Due to the lack of promo, fans have had to predict their own outcome of the show – as they predict Harrison will bring back Toni due to them both residing in the US. Toni currently lives in Vegas, whereas Harrison is living in Miami, despite being from Derby.

Prior to his entrance into the villa, the US college soccer player and student made it very clear he wasn’t afraid to step on toes. When asked about how he felt about splitting up a couple, Harrison said: “That’s what I have to do. I’m not here to make friends. If the girl is for me, I’m going to grab that.

“That’s no issue. I’m in there for myself at the end of the day.” He’s clear on what he’s here for too, explaining that his type is ” someone who is fiery and got a bit of an attitude.”

“I don’t want someone boring in the corner. I want someone who has got a bit of substance and voices their opinion. Confidence, being family oriented is a big one for me and someone who is ambitious, too,” he revealed.

Like Toni, Harrison is currently residing in the US, but he’s ready to make long distance work. “I’ve done long distance before so it’s not really an issue for me. I don’t know if or when I’m going back to America. But that’s not an issue. If you like a person you’ll make it work,” he said.

How will Harrison’s arrival change the dynamics of the villa?

Coronation Street star Luca Toolan appeared ‘fuming’ as the ITV soap lost out in the Best Single Episode award category at the British Soap Awards tonight. Luca played Mason Radcliffe on the soap before his character was killed off.

Mason died in tragic scenes, where he was stabbed by his brother as the soap tried to raise awareness of knife crime. In the harrowing scenes, which aired earlier this year, Mason lost his life in a fight with his siblings.

Speaking at the time of his exit storyline, he said: “Of course when I first heard there was a mixture of emotions because I was sad that Mason was going to die and that means I would be leaving, but equally I was really excited and honoured to be part of this storyline because it’s an incredibly important issue that needs to be tackled. I feel so privileged to have had this opportunity to start my professional career at Coronation Street and what a great time I’ve had.”

He added: “It was exhausting to film but amazing. I was so focused and a storyline like this is what you crave as an actor. I love the long days and working my butt off and even filming outside in the cold.

“Every single day I would wake up and be absolutely buzzing to go to work. The full crew were so supportive and created an environment that you could put yourself in that emotional headspace and get on with it. It was an amazing experience.”

The Best Single Episode award went to EastEnders for the episode about Phil’s Psychosis: The Mitchells In 1985. Other episodes nominated in that award included Mason’s Death, April’s Life on the Streets and Hollyoaks‘ Time Jump.

Fans on Twitter noticed Luca’s face, with one writing: “All of the other nominees when they don’t get the award…#britishsoapawards,” as another added: “they always look so p***ed off when they don’t win.” The fan then replied: “Mason from Corrie looked p***** off.”

Mason star Luca also took to social media to comment on the disrupted opening, where he wrote a sarcastic message which read: “Oh no what a shame now nobody can see me and all of Corrie win all the awards.”

Mason’s final storyline was also nominated in the Scene of the Year award alongside EastEnders at 40: Angie Watts’ Shock Return, Amy’s Deathly Plunge Reveals a Grisly Secret in Emmerdale and Mercedes Confronts Her Mortality in Hollyoaks. The award eventually went to EastEnders for the surprise return of Angie Watts.

Speaking about his future, Luca said he has big plans for what lies ahead. I love acting so much and I really hope I’ll continue doing it. I’ve seriously learned so much from Corrie and I’m so grateful to everyone involved there. As for my future, I’m not sure what it holds but the saying I like to say is: ‘I’m aiming for the stars and if I miss, I’ll hit the moon.'”

I was fuming when I found out why my family hadn’t RSVP-ed to my wedding – now they’re uninvited for being so petty

A WOMAN has threatened to “uninvite” two family members from her wedding after they complained about the menu choices.

Stef explained that her sister had contacted their relatives to ask why they hadn’t received an RSVP back from them for the nuptials.

And when she did so, she found out the bizarre reason they’d delayed their response to the invite – despite the fact they insisted they were coming.

“I know they’ll be there, but I need to know their food options,” she said in a TikTok video.

“And the reason they gave for not RSVPing was there’s no fish on the menu!”

She said that she and her husband-to-be had given their guests a meat choice or a vegetarian choice for both the starter and the main course.

“If you don’t like the meat, then you can have a really lovely Parmigiana aubergine gnocchi,” she added.

“It’s amazing!”

Not only that, but the two family members actually eat meat.

“So my sister was like, ‘Right, okay, so you’re not gonna come to the wedding because there’s no fish on the menu?'” Stef continued.

“And they were like, ‘No, no, no, of course we’re gonna come, we just don’t really know what to say’.”

And when her sister asked the relatives whether or not they could eat either the vegetarian or meat option, they said they could, but “just really wanted fish”.

Watch the moment wedding guest couple get slammed as ‘tacky’ as he gets down to propose right in front of the bride who has no idea is was going to happen

“Are you f**king joking?” Stef raged.

“I’m sorry, but my wedding is not a restaurant.

“You don’t get a full menu, you don’t get to choose from 10 different options.”

In addition, it would cost Stef an extra £10 per person to provide a meat, vegetarian AND fish option, as she noted: “It’s a 160 person wedding.

“I don’t f**king think so.

“My wedding is a two day event. You’re getting two lots of breakfast from me.

Average cost of a wedding in 2025

Recent research by Hodge reveals the dream of getting married can come with a hefty price tag, reaching more than £20,000.

  • Food – £6,000
  • Honeymoon – £4,329
  • Wedding outfits – £3,500
  • Entertainment – £2,000
  • Engagement ring – £1,948
  • Flowers – £1,110
  • Wedding ring – £1,000
  • Wedding transport – £700

Total = £20,587

“You’re getting a rehearsal dinner. You’re getting your wedding breakfast.

“You’re getting a pizza from the night of the wedding. I think you’re doing all right.

“It’s a free bar. Sit back and enjoy yourself.”

When the pair admitted the reason they hadn’t wanted to RSVP was because of the menu, Stef’s sister told them: “If you don’t like the food choices, then go f**k yourself”.

“Couldn’t agree more,” she added.

Sharing the tale on TikTok, Stef wrote: “Please tell me I’m not the only other person experiencing this level of crazy around their wedding?!”

People quickly obliged by sharing their own shocking stories in the comments section.

“Literally lost family members who threatened to not attend so I told them not to,” one said.

“Then a ‘friend’ said she’s not coming to my hen now because she had a disagreement over money with my maid of honour!”

“What is up with people and fish?!” another exclaimed.

“I was told I HAD to give a fish option. Excuse me. I hate fish so I give a fish option that means I the bride don’t have a choice on the day?”

“People are unhinged!” a third sighed

“We got married in Feb and some of the comments we got! The worst were from immediate family!!

“One moaned about the FREE wine choices on the table… don’t drink it!!”

P&O cruise passengers left fuming after 35-night Ventura dream trip is axed out of the blue

Holidaymakers have been left bitterly disappointed after P&O Cruises pulled the plug on a 35-night Caribbean cruise aboard the Ventura – just weeks after another cruise was scrapped.

The long-haul voyage, which was due to set sail on January 4, 2027, has been cancelled due to what the cruise line is calling “operational reasons.”

It follows the recent axing of a 14-night trip on sister ship Iona, which had been scheduled to depart on August 30, 2026.

In an earlier cancellation, the BBC reported on how cruise passengers hit out at P&O Cruises after two voyages scheduled for October 2025 aboard the Iona were scrapped to make way for a refit.

The cruises, both due to depart from Southampton, were pulled from the calendar, with the company citing the need for maintenance work.

Guests were offered full refunds along with on-board spending credit as an incentive to re-book another trip.

But many said the gesture didn’t go far enough – especially when they discovered that like-for-like holidays on different dates came with a hefty price hike.

In an email sent to passengers affect by the recent Ventura cancellation, P&O said:

“Due to operational reasons, we’re sorry to inform you that your cruise, departing 4 January 2027, is no longer going ahead.

“We understand this news is disappointing and would like to apologise for the inconvenience this may cause.

“To avoid you missing out on your holiday, however, we’ve automatically transferred you to an alternative cruise, G701, on board Iona.”

Frustrated passengers have since taken to Facebook to vent their anger and sadness over the abrupt change, with many saying they were looking forward to the now-cancelled voyage.

A spokesperson for P&O Cruises told the Echo:

“On occasion, it is necessary to change an itinerary from the one previously published and we are very sorry that Ventura’s 35-night Caribbean itinerary departing January 04 2027, has been cancelled.

“Where possible, we are pleased to offer affected guests to transfer to Iona’s similar Caribbean sailing across the same dates.

“Ventura will now offer three new itineraries, which go on sale on June 04, 2025.”
