American mum-of-three, Erin Monroe, recently travelled to Portugal for the first time ever, and was quick to notice the different way children behave in the European country compared to in the US

Exploring new corners of the globe is a fantastic opportunity to gain insights into diverse cultures and lifestyles. However, an American mum was taken aback by the contrasting attitudes towards children during her recent trip to Portugal.

Erin Monroe and her husband embarked on a journey from JFK airport in New York for a child-free holiday. This marked Erin’s first ever international travel experience, and she shared her anticipation and nerves with her 249k TikTok followers ahead of their Portuguese getaway. Once settled in the European country, Erin quickly noticed a significant cultural difference, which was that children’s behaviour varied greatly between Portugal and the US.

“I’m gonna be that guy right now, but my husband and I are in Portugal right now. And I’ve never been to Europe in my life, so this is a new experience for me,” Erin said at the start of her video, which has since amassed over 1.1 million views.

She continued to share that she is a mother of three children aged 12, 10, and six, who remained in the US while she and her husband enjoyed their holiday. However, she expressed her regret at not bringing them along after learning about the child-friendly culture in the country.

“And the culture around kids is so different here than it is in the States. Like the kids are just everywhere, they’re just a part of everything,” Erin said.

She went on to describe how she and her husband had enjoyed their dinner at an upmarket restaurant in Cascais, Portugal, the previous evening. Despite the sophisticated setting and atmosphere, she was pleasantly surprised to discover that children had spontaneously begun a football match in an open space by the restaurant.

“And there were just kids playing soccer at this little open area next to the restaurant. And I loved it,” Erin said. “They were just playing soccer with each other and then the other interesting thing, and this has happened several times here, there are so many different languages spoken here.”

She then claimed that amongst the eight youngsters kicking a ball about, she could distinguish at least four different languages being spoken.

“There was one older kid who was actively translating for the other kids who didn’t speak the same language. And it’s so interesting to me. Like, the language barrier isn’t really a barrier, especially for kids. Like, they don’t care, they’ll just play together,” she told her viewers.

Erin carried on with her observations, noting: “And the adults, are the parents were like watching, but like drinking their wine and eating their bread and like hanging out.

“I love it here. Are you kidding? I need to bring my kids here right this second,” she exclaimed.

The video’s comment section quickly filled with people sharing their experiences of Portuguese culture, especially regarding children.

One commenter shared: “I still remember all the random friendships that I made when we were out with my parents, kids that we were instant bff for those three hours that we were at dinner and then we never saw each other ever again.”

Another person questioned: “This is how kids learn to socialise. How do they learn it in the States?”

Meanwhile, a third individual expressed their appreciation for French customs, adding: “I love in France seeing teenagers go out to a civilised dinner together.”

Sofia, who goes by the handle sofiasttravels on TikTok, confessed that she booked herself onto “Ryanair‘s cheapest flight” for a day trip, and was left gobsmacked by how little it cost to spend a day gallivanting in a different country.

In a recent video, Sofia shared her “extreme day trip” adventure – an experiment to see what would happen if she simply hopped on the most affordable flight available. After a bit of digging, she found that the cheapest ticket was for a flight to Pescara in Italy on the day she wanted to travel.

She revealed that this set her back a mere £42 for a return journey from London Stansted Airport. Eager to discover what awaited them, Sofia and a friend jetted off to Italy where they enjoyed breakfast for a bargain €6.20 each, roughly £5.34.

Greeted by a balmy 23°C, they strolled along the beach before indulging in cocktails and snacks, which totalled €7.00 (£6.03). Next on the agenda was lunch, costing them €23.00 per person, approximately £19.82. In a surprising twist, they ended up joining a “stranger’s 18th birthday party”, seemingly having a whale of a time.

Later, they treated themselves to some gelato at €2.50 (£2.15) per serving. Along with browsing the local shops and savouring delicious food, they squeezed in another Aperol spritz before heading home.

After a day packed with excitement, they hopped on their flight back and Sofia declared it was “such a great day out.” It’s truly remarkable what can be achieved within the span of 24 hours.

British man visits Tenerife but is completely floored by cost of living

A man recently visited Tenerife but was left completely floored by the cost of living. According to him, he can’t believe how different it is to living in the UK

A British man who ventured to Tenerife on holiday has been completely floored by the cost of living. He recently opened up about the matter in a TikTok video, as he can’t believe just how differently prices compare when shopping in the travel hotspot.

The man, known as deebolar, said the UK “no longer makes sense to him”, after he visited Tenerife. After spending a day exploring the area, he instantly began to notice a major difference between life in the UK, as he said there’s a huge contrast when it comes to the prices of popular every day essentials.

He said: “I’ve been here for 24 hours, and this supermarket is my best friend, bro. For context, €1 is 85p, so you’re seeing €1 here for like two plus litres of Fanta, Coke, 7up.

“I mean, it’s off-brand, but who gives a toss? It’s like 70p/80p – those bottles are like 50p. And eight litres of water for €1.50 – that’s like £1.20, bro.

“[The] UK is not seeing me again, that might be six Desperados for €1.71. It might be one as well, I ain’t got a clue. Anyways, look at this, eight litres of water, two litres of Fanta, look at the price – €2.39.”

Showing some goods on a table to the camera, he added: “Everything on this table, probably like £5 or £6 at most. I’m telling you, it’s nuts.”

Content cannot be displayed without consent

The clip was captioned: “I have to go back to the cost of living crisis after this”, and the video has captured the attention of many. However, some people thought he needed to know some vital information.

One said: “Canary Islands have the lowest salary of Spain. This isn’t the paradise you think. Our rents are more than half our salary.” Another wrote: “Cheap for you. Unfortunately, Spanish salaries are every day lower because we pay more taxes and prices are increasing.”

A third replied, saying: “Nowhere is objectively cheap in this world. What is cheap for you might be expensive for the locals. This applies everywhere.”

Someone else asked: “Which supermarket is this? Going next week.” A fith also replied: “UK is expensive. Spain is cheaper, always.”

According to EasyFX, some Brits view Tenerife as an “appealing alternative” to the UK, as some see the cost of living as an attractive reason to move abroad. It states: “On average, rent in Tenerife is considerably cheaper than in the UK.

“A one-bedroom apartment in the island’s capital, Santa Cruz de Tenerife, typically costs between €500 and €700 (£415 – £580) per month, compared to the £1,200 to £1,500 minimum you would have to spend to rent an apartment in London, for example.

“Like most places in Europe, the cost of renting in Tenerife will vary depending on the location and property type you decide on. Popular areas like Santa Cruz, and La Laguna and tourist hotspots such as Los Cristianos and Costa Adeje tend to have higher rental prices.

“For those who prefer to cook at home, Tenerife’s grocery prices are another highlight and much more affordable than the UK. Supermarkets such as Mercadona, Hiperdino and Lidl, offer competitive prices, while local markets provide fresh produce and regional specialties at great rates.

“Shopping at farmer’s markets throughout Tenerife can yield even fresher produce at lower prices, making it an attractive option if you want to stick to a budget without compromising on quality.”

Meanwhile, the average salary in Tenerife is thought to come in at around €32,239 (£27,849.18) per year, with skilled professions like healthcare, education and technical fields generally bringing in between €1,500 (£1,295.75) and €2,000 (£1,727.63) per month. Even though the Canary Islands’ wages have increased a lot since 1978, they are still said to fall behind the Spanish national average.

Woman goes furniture shopping in China and prices leave her floored

A British woman named decided to travel all the way to Foshan in China in order to buy all the furniture she’d need for her future home after hearing it was cheaper than the UK

As the USA issued new trade tariffs on products from across the world at the start of 2025, with China being hit with a 20% tariff, which was an increase from the 10% tariff it had been before, Chinese wholesale sellers took to social media to urge people to shop with them directly.

While these tariffs didn’t directly affect the UK, it didn’t stop British social media users to see the videos that Chinese sellers were making about being able to by luxury products to a fraction of brands’ prices directly from the factories and wholesalers. This includes everything from designer clothes to furniture and home goods.

Doctor Shirley Bekker was one of many viewers who saw these videos on TikTok, and decided to book a spontaneous shopping trip to China in May 2025 in order to buy all the furniture she’d need for her future flat.

As she arrived in Foshan in China, a city known for its high manufacturing output to the world, having 30 towns specialised in particular industries, including furniture, machinery, and beverages, Shirley decided to document her shopping trip on TikTok to show people the big savings she was making.

While Shirley herself hadn’t been convinced that travelling all the way to Foshan to buy furniture would be worth it, she quickly changed her mind when she found her ‘dream’ coffee table.

“It’s built on a solid wood platform, real glass on top, it’s really heavy, really durable, and just looks so luxe,” she said as she showed off the table, which also included wooded geometric details under the glass.

While it looked luxurious and expensive, she revealed that she’d only paid £150 for it, saying it cost her less than her HD frontal weave.

In her next video, she shared that she’d gotten a wooden dining table for £80, as well as customised chairs to go with it that matched the luxurious sofa she’d gotten for £340. She also made sure to get lamps and art to decorate her future how with as well.

While all of these sums do add up quickly, as she got home, Shirley decided to make a presentation to share how much money she’d saved after finding similar items sold in shops around the UK.

Starting off with the £80 wooden dining table she’d bought in China, she’d found an almost identical table being sold in B&Q for £349.99. While the import costs aren’t included in this comparison, Shirley saved £269.99 just from the table alone. Meanwhile, the two chairs she’d gotten for £65 each cost a whopping £990 each if she’d bought them in the UK.

Content cannot be displayed without consent

Shirley continued to go through the comparisons for all the different items she’d bought, only to come to the conclusion to how much she’d save.

“So in conclusion, you flew to all the way to China with nothing but a Monzo, Google Translate, and praised hands. You ran around for six days and bought enough stuff to furnish a bedroom, balcony, renovate a bathroom, and have enough dinnerware to host the royal family,” the voiceover said.

It continued: “Had you stayed in the UK and bought all the same things, this little venture would have cost you a grand total of £21,800. But all because you took the plunge and bought it all in China instead, you spent a grand total of £3,690.56.”

While these calculations did not include the shipping costs to get her furniture from China to the UK, Shirley still saved herself a whopping £18,109.04, which will most likely be more than enough to cover the shipping costs.

A woman bought fish and chips in Tenerife but Brits have been left astounded by the price. Caitlin, who documents her life in Tenerife online, recently visited a new food spot in Los Cristianos and decided to share her findings with social media users.

Under the name caitlincampb_, she shared her visit to the local chippy on TikTok, and people couldn’t get over how much a classic fish supper set her back. Simply called The Shamrock Fish ‘n Chippy, she decided to visit the restaurant as it’s new, and she noted there’s also a bar there that offers live entertainment too.

Caitlin opted to sample a classic fish and chips when she visited, and they looked pretty tasty. She also offered people a glimpse of the receipt, and this is what caught their attention.

The meal came in at €12.50 overall, with the cod being priced at €8.50 and the chips coming in at €4.00 for a regular portion. This is what captivated people in the comments section.

Astounded by the price, one person said: “£17 at my local in Scotland for a fish supper now.” Another added: “Was it any good?” Caitlin soon replied to this, saying: “Yeah.”

A third responded: “Went there three times in a week – was awesome. They guy server is really good.” Meanwhile, a fourth also commented: “We went there last time. In our opinion, the best on the island.”

If you’re wondering why some people were surprised by the price, Caitlin’s fish and chip supper came in at around £10.68. This varies a lot to some reported prices in the UK.

According to reports, the average price for a regular portion of fish and chips in the UK comes in at around £9.88. Prices can vary significantly though, with London being known as offering the most expensive price at £22.50 for a larger portion.

Meanwhile, in West Yorkshire, it’s said you may be able to snap up the much-loved meal for as little as £6.70 for a smaller portion. However, portion sizes also vary greatly, as some shops can serve a regular fish up to 12oz and chips up to 20oz.

If you didn’t know, the price of cod and haddock has rocketed by 75% in the past year as a result of supply chain disruptions and global factors like the Ukraine war. While the price rise could hit the pockets of punters, it appears Brits still love tucking into fish and chips.

According to average prices, a classic cod and chips will cost you around £10.92. Meanwhile, the average price of haddock and chips is slightly higher at £11.13.

Meanwhile, smaller meal portions tend to come in between £5 to £8, while larger portions can set you back around £11. If it’s high end fish and chips you’re after, the price can vary from anything to £25 to £80.

Recently, one woman left people shocked when she ordered a chippy tea in Liverpool. Suzanna ventured to her favourite chippy to sample what was on offer, and she was left pretty impressed, but the price of the dish did take some people by surprise.

She ordered a small portion of fish, chips and mushy peas, and encouraged other people to share how much they pay to sample the goods where they live. It led to all sorts of answers being put forward.

‘I bought hundreds of scratch cards on Ryanair flight and winnings floored me’

Vik shared a video online in which he revealed his friend Ethan decided to buy every single scratch card he could on board a Ryanair flight, but it didn’t quite go to plan

In a shocking twist of fate, a man who splurged on hundreds of scratch cards during a Ryanair flight was left absolutely stunned by the outcome. The social media-savvy traveller, Vik, took to TikTok to share his friend Ethan’s experience with his followers after he decided to purchase every scratch card available on their flight, but couldn’t believe how it turned out.

In a viral clip that has stunned people, Vik spoke out about their high-altitude gamble, saying: “We are here on Ryanair and this man Ethan has bought every single scratch card on the flight. I’ve opened about 100 scratch cards, I’ve been opening these one at a time.

“We have not won a single thing. We have won nothing – no one has won anything. I’ll keep you guys posted.”

Content cannot be displayed without consent

The video then captures their unique airborne endeavour as it unfolds, with Ethan snapping up a staggering 68 packets of cards. Despite an enthusiastic scratching effort from fellow passengers roped into the spree, not even a minuscule win was scratched up.

At one point, the frustration is palpable as a voice can be heard exclaiming: “No one won anything.” Vik lamented further: “You’re supposed to match three – I can’t even match two. We’ve lost again.”

The surprising result left them and viewers alike in disbelief that not even a modest prize made its way to their row.

Since the video was shared, it has garnered thousands of views and sparked a flurry of comments. One viewer joked: “100% they won’t allow mass buying on the flight again, lol.”

Another claimed to be a Ryanair cabin crew member, stating: “I am cabin crew for Ryanair and there is so much more that you don’t know. They can’t sell you that many. There is a limit spend per passenger. Cabin crew in trouble!”

Others chimed in, with one wondering: “I wonder how many people have ever won money on those.”

A fourth commenter shared their own experience, saying: “I remember winning like £26 of on board vouchers. When asking to buy something, I heard the cabin crew say ‘someone’s actually won’. That’s how slim your odds are.”

The controversy surrounding Ryanair’s scratch cards is not new. A 2016 report revealed that winners of the jackpot are entered into a separate draw for the chance to win the €1million prize.

The winner must then select from 125 envelopes, with only one containing the top prize. At the time, Ryanair noted that other envelopes contain €50,000, and that one car a month is won in the draw, along with other cash prizes up to €5,000.

The odds of winning the jackpot were reported to be around 1.2billion to one. To give you a sense of the odds, winning the Lotto is said to be a 10.7million to one shot, while the EuroMillions odds are a staggering 139.8million to one.

With the National Lottery, you’re only allowed to buy 10 scratch cards in a single transaction, but it’s not clear how many you can purchase with Ryanair. The company has been asked to comment.

British tourist goes to Switzerland supermarket and is floored by the prices

A British mum decided to check out a supermarket in Switzerland, after she and her family packed up their life in the UK to travel the world, and showed how different the prices of groceries are

We’re all familiar with how much the prices have gone up in British supermarkets with weekly food shops getting more and more expensive but we’ve learnt to accept this and carry on buying the groceries we need. When going on holiday or travelling to a new country, it’s common to look at the prices of everyday items and compare them to the UK.

A family-of-five left the UK to travel the world and have been documenting their journey on TikTok where they are known as Fitch Family Adventures. The mum, who is not named, shared a video giving a tour of a supermarket in Switzerland and showed that the prices are even more expensive than in Britain. Switzerland is generally considered an expensive country, especially for tourists, with the cost of living, including accommodation, food and transport, being significantly higher than in many other European countries.

The Brit mum said: “We are in Switzerland and we’re about to go into the supermarket so I thought I’d show you how much some of the shopping costs here as it is known for being really, really expensive.”

She found a pack of Bio Tomaten Marzanino tomatoes for 4.95 Swiss Francs, equal to £4.52.

Then she had a look at the ready-made salads and found a caesar salad with caesar dressing for 6.80 Swiss Francs, which is £6.20, and another mixed salad with cucumber and red cabbage for 7.20 Swiss Francs, equal to £6.57.

Next, the British tourist spotted a variety of pizzas with toppings like black olives and deli meat for 12 Swiss Francs, which is £10.94.

After this she explored the sweet treats offerings and found a pack of four Munz ladybug chocolates for 4.75 Swiss Francs, equal to £4.33.

Content cannot be displayed without consent

There was also a 186g box of Celebrations for 3.95 Swiss Francs (£3.60), a pack of Kinder Bueno chocolate bars for 2.80 Swiss Francs (£2.55), six packs of Smarties priced at 4.75 Swiss Francs (£4.33) and a Toblerone five pack with each bar weighing 100 grams, on sale for 13.20 Swiss Francs (£12.04).

Moving onto the bakery section, the mum saw a pack of crusty bread rolls for 3.10 Swiss Francs (£2.83) which she thought was “not too bad.”

Finally, she checked out the price of a pack of A4 paper, explaining that her children wanted to do some drawing, and found 500 sheets for 11.95 Swiss Francs, equal to £10.90.

One TikTok user asked: “How do people afford to live there?”, to which The Fitch family replied: “We definitely found it difficult to afford things as tourists.”

Switzerland is home to the supermarket chains Migros, Co-op, Denner, Aldi and Lidl but there are also higher end supermarkets, such as Manor Food and Globus.

International moving and relocation company Packimpex explains on its website that salaries in Switzerland in sectors like finance, healthcare and IT are often higher than the European average, leading to increased costs for essentials, as well as luxuries,

It adds: “The Swiss Franc, one of the world’s strongest currencies, further contributes to the high cost of living. This robust currency makes imported goods, which account for a significant portion of the market, more expensive.

“Everyday items such as groceries, clothing, and electronics often cost more than in neighbouring countries due to currency valuation and steep import duties.”

He went out into the streets of Bangkok, Thailand’s capital city to buy his three meals on a budget. Bangkok is known for its bustling street life, including street food and markets. One of the most famous street food dishes is pad Thai, a classic stir-fried noodle dish with shrimp, egg and peanuts. Ryan took his TikTok viewers along with him as he explored the Thai food scene and couldn’t believe the price of his breakfast, lunch and dinner.

To start his culinary journey the travel influencer went to Siam House Cafe where he opted for a traditional Thai breakfast that was made up of egg, pork meat and toast for just £1.50.

Taking a bite of his meal, he said “mmm” and reported that his breakfast was a “roaring success.”

Next he moved onto lunch where he picked up a ham and cheese toastie and a bottle of water from 7-Eleven for £1.05.

In total Ryan’s breakfast, lunch and dinner from Bangkok cost him a mere £4.85. Bangkok is a foodie paradise as it offers a “mix of delicious street food, budget-friendly restaurants and hidden gems serving world-class Thai cuisine”, according to H and L Blogs.

The travel blog website claims that Bangkok’s “cheap eats are everywhere”, such as wok-fried noodles in Chinatown or “authentic local curries served for just a few Baht in local markets.”

One Thai Baht is equal to 0.023 Great British Pounds so it is very easy to eat out on a budget in Bangkok.

Trip Savvy states that the average cost of a basic Thai meal in a restaurant is 90 to 150 Baht (£2.02 to £3.37) and pad Thai noodles with chicken or tofu can be found at street carts and from simple restaurants for 35 to 40 Baht (£0.35 to £0.90).

It adds that the average cost for pad Thai in tourist places is around 50 Baht (£1.12) per plate.

Ryan’s TikTok video showcasing how cheap it is to eat out in Bangkok has garnered thousands of views and likes and more than 100 comments.

One user simply said: “Thailand is very affordable.” While another exclaimed: “That pad Thai is a bargain!” A third described the cost of Ryan’s three meals as “so cheap.”

A man bought fish and chips when he was exploring Benidorm, but was left totally floored by the price. Harry, who often shares his adventures in Spain online, is known for making travel content, and he recently decided to sample fish and chips at the popular holiday resort.

Known as HarryTokky on TikTok, he said he may have sampled the “best” fish and chips he’s tried in Benidorm so far, and he found them at Ray’s Chippy 2. He raved about the recent meal he had at the restaurant, and shared his thoughts with his followers; however, he was left rather astounded by the price.

In the clip, he admitted he’s been told it was the “best chippy” in town, so he decided to give it a try. With many people opting to sample fish and chips when they visit Benidorm, he thought it was important to sample what’s on offer.

He opted for a small cod and chips, as well as curry sauce and a soft drink. When he was handed the food, he admitted it looked “absolutely amazing.”

Harry said: “We’ve got the small cod and chips, we’ve got the gravy as well. No, we’ve got the curry sauce, my apologies. Let’s get plenty of salt on there.

“Oh the batter is incredible, super crunchy. Beautiful, beautiful. Honestly, it’s that hot, I cannot even eat it. I’m going to have to wait a few minutes for it to cool down but, honestly, this is so tasty.

“I mean, if you are coming to Benidorm, you’ve got to check this place out. It’s incredible. Right guys, I have just finished my meal, and I have no other words other than exceptional.”

When he was handed the bill, he told viewers the meal came to €13.65. When converted, this equates to around £11.68, and Harry thought it was an “absolute bargain.”

One said: “Was there two weeks ago – best chippy in Benidorm.” Another added: “It looks lovely – can’t wait to try it.”

A third replied: “I’ll check it out when I’m over in September. I’ve heard it’s the best in Beni.” Meanwhile, a fourth also commented: “I was there last week – spot on and great price too.”

Others were also quick to recommend other places to get fish and chips in the area that are also highly rated. Some examples included Dave’s Chippy, Planet Benidorm and John and Joseph’s, among others.

To put the price into perspective, it’s reported the average price for a regular portion of fish and chips in the UK comes in at around £9.88. Prices can vary significantly though, with London being known for offering the most expensive price at £22.50 for a larger portion.

Smaller meal portions tend to come in between £5 to £8, while larger portions can set you back around £11. If it’s high end fish and chips you’re after, the price can vary from anything to £25 to £80.

A woman who jetted off to Turkey on holiday was left floored when she bought a McDonald’s meal. The holidaymaker, known as Emzie, said she was gobsmacked when she was handed the bill after she snapped up a meal at the airport.

She said the price of a McDonald’s meal is “ridiculous” at Antalya Airport, as it was “nothing speical” when compared to offerings at UK stores. Emzie posted about the incident on TikTok as she couldn’t believe how much money it cost her to purchase a few burgers, and many people agreed that the prices seemed to be more expensive than you’d expect.

In the clip, she said: “What can I say? McDonald’s at Antalya Airport – crazy prices. They want €20, which is roughly about £18, for a Big Mac meal – that’s a regular size.

“We got two triple cheese burgers, a medium Coke and a medium Fanta, and in total in English that was £37.00. There’s nothing special about it.”

Emzie said she didn’t think the meal was worth the hefty price tag, and people shared their personal views in the comments too. Many couldn’t believe their eyes after they saw the receipt, and the video prompted hundreds to comment.

One person said: “We paid £94.” Another wrote: “I spent €85 there for me and my two kids.”

A third also replied: “Omg – they are disgusting prices.” Meanwhile, a fourth also commented: “How can anyone afford to pay that or want to pay that? It’s actually insane.”

However, despite people sharing similar experiences, others were quick to point out that they didn’t think she should have bought the food if she considered it too expensive.

Someone else chimed in with: “Can’t buy it and the complain. You saw the prices before buying.” Another added: “Just don’t buy them?”

One more also wrote: “Don’t buy it then. Eat before you leave the hotel. Most drivers in Turkey stop on the way to the airport at a diner or shop.”

Even though people had varied views, some have been raisng concerns about rising prices in Turkey lately. There are reasons why inflation has hit the popular holiday destination, according to reports.

Why is Turkey becoming so expensive?

There are a few reasons why prices are said to have shot up in Turkey. Statista shared some advice.

The website reads: “Domestic producer price indices have been continuously rising, which has directly resulted in a price increase in all consumer goods and services. Accordingly, the Consumer Price Index (CPI) in all commodity groups increased extremely since 2022.

“In the same year, the food and non-alcoholic beverages category had one of the highest inflation rates in the CPI. This particularly affected Turkish consumers, as these products accounted for the highest share of household expenditure in 2023.

“Since 2020, food prices have increased significantly around the world, and Turkey is no exception. Although inflation has started to slow down recently, food prices in Turkey continue to go up steadily, increasing by 48.6 percent in November 2024 compared to the same month in the previous year.

“It is not surprising that food inflation has not simmered down, as the producer price index (PPI) of agricultural products followed a constant increasing trend in the country over the past few years.”

However, it’s noted the country is also taking steps to help boost tourism, including addressing rising prices, making tourist offerings more diverse and investing in infrastructure. The Government is said to be working to reduce inflation, and some people are also promoting niche tourism areas like spas and health care.
