Coronation Street fans work out ANOTHER surprise child twist as newcomer’s connection to the cobbles is revealed

EAGLE-EAYED Coronation Street fans think they’ve worked out another link to the cobbles for DI Costello (played by Daon Broni).

ITV viewers have previously expressed their suspicions about the detective inspector, thinking he is hiding his role in the death of his colleague DS Lisa Swain’s late wife Becky.

After Friday’s episode of the soap, fans now think Costello has a connection to another character as the gripping storyline continues.

Dee Dee Bailey’s new love-interest Ollie appeared to take an interest in Lisa and viewers have flocked to Reddit to share their theories about his connection to Costello.

Somebody wrote: “So I’ve a new theory about Ollie and I’ve a feeling it’ll soon become popular. I think that he’s either related or connected to Costello.

“If you think about it, they came in around the same time and came to the forefront about the same time. Are both around the copshop alot lately. Both are inquisitive to people lately making sus comments.

“Who’s to say that it’s not a big corruption involving Costello, Ollie, the Radcliffes and Becky along with the infamous Tia Wardley.”

Another fan expressed: “Costello has been in it for over a year since the Joel case. But you could be onto something alright.”

Someone else responded: “I think there might be a twist that Ollie might be related to Costello and there’s a twist that he’s Costello’s son.”

The name Tia Wardley has been hanging over Lisa and her girlfriend Carla Connor for months, in connection to Becky.

In Friday’s bombshell episode, Tia finally arrived on the cobbles to explain herself – just in time for the women’s engagement party.

In the instalment, DI Costello was seen desperately trying to cover his tracks and hiding what he really knows about the mysterious Tia Wardley.

Coronation Street’s Becky McDonald’s return teased by Leanne Battersby

Tia turned up at the Bistro and told Lisa and Carla all about her connection to Becky.

She claimed to have been involved with the Radcliffe brothers and revealed that Becky had helped her escape her troubled life out of the goodness of her heart.

Lisa seemed genuinely touched that the truth meant that Becky had been a good cop – and had helped the woman escape a bad situation.

But after leaving the Bistro, the woman met up with Costello – and the truth soon emerged. The woman was not the real Tia Wardley.

She told Costello: “I gave them the full Meryl Streep. Really milked it. Looked like the blonde one was going to cry.”

And when the potentially dodgy cop questioned whether she actually managed to trick Lisa, the faker added: “They didn’t have a clue what the real Tia Wardley looked like, so yes…”

In addition to the on-screen confession, the credits also named her as “Fake Tia Wardley” confirming that she is definitely not the real woman Lisa and Carla were looking for.

But as Lisa and Carla made their way home from the celebrations, Lisa suddenly felt a chill.

It was then revealed that someone had been watching the couple, leaving the detective feeling completely unnerved.

Coronation Street fans will have to continue watching to find out who was following the pair and to who the real Tia Wardley is.

Coronation Street favourite makes return after nearly six months away

Evelyn Plummer, the soap battle axe played by Dame Maureen Lipman, returned to Coronation Street on Friday after several months away as she helped celebrate Swarla’s engagement

Evelyn Plummer returned to Coronation Street on Friday after several months away.

The battleaxe, who is played by Dame Maureen Lipman, was last seen on the ITV soap for a brief appearance in March, but has mostly been away at university.

On Friday night, fans were delighted to see her make a return as she appeared in the hospital and bumped into Roy Cropper (David Neilson) as he was waiting for an appointment to get his bad back checked out.

In typical Evelyn style, she stormed down the hospital ward with a girl in a wheelchair, who was dressed as legendary painter Frida Kahlo for freshers’ week, as she complained about how complicated the signage was.

She fumed: “I’m telling you, I am a highly intelligent woman and this signage is a challenge to me! Oh Roy!” When she explained that the girl with her had sustained an ankle injury whilst partying, she asked Roy what he was doing there.

She suggested ‘bobbing about on a beach ball’ to ameliorate his bad back as she said: “It’s all the rage in halls, nobody sits on a chair anymore!”

In the next scene, Evelyn explained that her fellow university student had had an allergic reaction to the glue she had used to secure her fake eyebrows on so was being kept in overnight.

Roy told Evelyn of the happy news that Carla Connor and Lisa Swain had got engaged and that they would soon be celebrating at the Bistro, so Evelyn promptly invited herself along. Carla was thrilled to see that Roy had made it to the party having already asked him to walk her down the aisle, and Evelyn threw her coat at her as she said: “We bumped into each other in the hospital!”

Dame Maureen Lipman as Evelyn Plummer and Claire Sweeney as Cassie Plummer
Evelyn is the mother of Cassie Plummer (Claire Sweeney) and was introduced as the long-lost grandmother of Tyrone Dobbs

Carla said she she hoped it was ‘nothing serious’ but couldn’t have been less interested in the response. Evelyn then dropped a huge hint for someone to buy her a drink and asked for a double brandy.

She added: “Mind you, should I have a drink on an empty stomach?” as Nick offered to get her something from the kitchen. As she continued to gatecrash the proceedings, she said: “This is quite sophisticated for Weathefield.

“We’ve got loads of lesbians at uni! Gay weddings are two a penny. A month ago, we had a throuple handfasting, yep! That was nice.”

This all came after Carla and Lisa had already been dealt with a whole load of drama when a girl claiming to be Tia Wardley turned up on the scene, although all was not as it seemed.

Coronation Street star makes gut-wrenching debut in rival soap months after quitting

A former Coronation Street star is set to make his debut in Casualty tonight less than a year after leaving the Manchester based soap three years after joining

A former Coronation Street star is set to star in rival BBC soap Casualty less than a year after leaving the Manchester based soap.

Bill Fellows, who played Stu Carpenter in Corrie, is set to star in tonight’s episode of Casualty, starring as pharmacy delivery driver, Terry. It comes a few months after it was announced that Fellows would be making a guest stint in the soap.

The star is set for a dramatic storyline, with his character set to be brutally attacked by a gang during the delivery, spoilers reveal. It comes after last week’s dramatic events, in which it was revealed that pharmacist Sunny was stealing missing morphine.

Things are set to take a darker turn, as spoilers reveal that Rash finds out all – as Sunny explains she’s been doing it to protect her son Jake, who has been groomed by the gang.

It later unravels that Terry’s injuries are due to Sunny telling the gang about the drop-off, but how will things unfold?

The star teased his dramatic role back in February, where he posted a selfie of himself wearing an NHS pass around his neck with the caption: “Another day , Another Casualty.” Days later, he posted an image of himself with special effect make up that showed him with arm and head injuries.

The character of Terry is a far cry from his role as Stu in Coronation Street. ITV fans will remember the character joining the soap in 2021, later growing close to Yasmeen, and becoming a chef at Speed Daal.

However, in 2024, the character decided to leave the street and head to Germany for a fresh start with his granddaughter.

During his three years on the soap, Billy’s character Stu had been involved in a number of hard hitting storylines, including homelessness and wrongful imprisonment.

Stu and YAsmeen
Stu grew close to Yasmeen during his time on the cobbles

The character was previously imprisoned for 27 years for the death of Charlie Walter. It was later confirmed that it was actually his daughter Bridget that was responsible for the death. Stu took in his granddaughter Eliza, and later left for Germany with her.

Speaking about his departure at the time, Bill said: “I’m proud of what we’ve achieved with Stu’s character.

“He started as a man struggling to survive, and now he’s a man who has rebuilt his life, found love, and made a difference. It’s been a complete story arc, and I’m pleased with how it’s all come together.”

He later said it had been ‘surreal’ to work alongside legends such as William Roache, who plays Ken Barlow. “Growing up, I watched it with my family, so being part of it has been surreal,” he said. “I’ve worked alongside legends like William Roache, and it’s been an incredible experience.”

Coronation Street star Adam Hussain speaks out on exit and teases return

Coronation Street viewers saw Aadi Alahan, played by Adam Hussain, leaving Weatherfield on Tuesday night, though it’s already been teased that he could return in the future

Former Coronation Street cast member Adam Hussain has opened up about his departure from the show and teased that he could return in the future. His character, Aadi Alahan, was seen leaving Weatherfield earlier this week.

The actor, 24, had joined the cast of the ITV show in 2020, taking over the role from Zennon Ditchett. Adam announced earlier this year that he had decided to leave Corrie after five years, with his on-screen departure from the soap having then aired on Tuesday night.

His character, Aadi, whose recent storylines had included one centred on drink spiking, was seen heading off to embark on a new life in India. He was bid farewell by loved ones including his twin sister Asha Alahan (played by Tanisha Gorey) and their father Dev Alahan (Jimmi Harkishin).

Following the episode, a message from Adam was shared with fans through the show’s Instagram account. He said in the video that he had “grown” as an actor whilst in the cast and teased that he wasn’t saying “goodbye forever”.

Adam said: “I just want to say thank you so much to everyone for watching Aadi on Corrie over the years. Y’know, these past five years have been so educational and such an experience. I’ve made friends that will last a lifetime.

“I’ve grown, not just as an actor, but as a person as well. But I just want to say that it’s not goodbye forever – more like a see you later. And if you want to keep watching me, then I will be around in other stuff, so keep your eyes peeled.”

He opened up further about his departure in an interview with The Mirror. Adam explained that he felt that it was the “right time” to leave Corrie, saying that he wanted to “spread his wings” and try other roles.

Adam told us: “I am going to be 25 in October, and I felt it was the right time to leave. It was my decision, and the producers were so understanding. I want to spread my wings a little, go out in the big world and see what else I can do.

“I am really excited as I’ve got a new role in a horror feature film. I can’t say too much yet, but I am looking forward to it. I feel lucky as I’ve also been to lots of other auditions since I finished filming my Corrie scenes in June, and I’ve filmed a part in a short film, Spice For Life, too. We are sending it off to film festivals at the moment. It’s an exploration of cultures coming together.”

The actor shared that relief over Aadi having not been killed off on the show, which means there’s a possibility of the character returning in the future. Adam said: “It’s very relieving to know I can always return whenever I want to.”

He said: “They’ve told me the door will always be left open if I ever want to come back.” Asked if he think he will ever return, he teased in the recent interview: “Never say never! But I do hope Aadi does get a second chance in India.”

Coronation Street continues tomorrow night from 8pm on ITV and ITVX.

Coronation Street’s Adam Hussain’s reason for quitting ITV soap and decision by bosses

EXCLUSIVE: The 25-year-old actor, who plays the son of shopkeeper Dev, Aadi Alahan, left the soap on Wednesday night – but says it was his decision to ‘spread his wings’ and play other characters

Adam Hussain has now left Coronation Street, but admits it was his decision
Adam Hussain has now left Coronation Street, but admits it was his decision

After an emotional farewell last night as his character, Aadi Alahan, left Coronation Street’s famous cobbles to start a new life in India, actor Adam Hussain reveals it was his decision to quit.

Having joined Corrie in April 2020 as Dev and Sunita’s son, Aadi, Adam took over from Zennon Ditchett, who had left Weatherfield to concentrate on his A-levels. Prior to that, Aadi and his twin sister Asha were played by triplets Hannah, Harris and Ria Ahmed.

But after five years, the actor says he decided to leave to “spread his wings” and play other characters. And his brave move has clearly proved to be a good one as Adam reveals today he has already bagged himself a role in a new feature film, overseen by award-winning horror director Richard Stanley.

In his only newspaper interview talking about his departure, the actor, 24, tells the Mirror: “My life has changed for the better since I joined Corrie and it has been such an honour to be part of the amazing cast.

“I joined during the Covid pandemic, which was a weird and surreal time to take on a new character. I’ve loved playing Aadi, I have made good friends on the set, and I am going to miss Corrie dearly.

“But I am going to be 25 in October, and I felt it was the right time to leave. It was my decision, and the producers were so understanding.

“I want to spread my wings a little, go out in the big world and see what else I can do. I am really excited as I’ve got a new role in a horror feature film. I can’t say too much yet, but I am looking forward to it.

“I feel lucky as I’ve also been to lots of other auditions since I finished filming my Corrie scenes in June, and I’ve filmed a part in a short film, Spice For Life, too. We are sending it off to film festivals at the moment. It’s an exploration of cultures coming together.”

He is, however, glad Corrie bosses decided not to kill Aadi off. “It’s very relieving to know I can always return whenever I want to,” smiles Adam. “And they’ve told me the door will always be left open if I ever want to come back. My friends on set were gutted when I first told them, but they also understood. They now have high aspirations about what I am going to get up to in the coming years!”

Over the past few weeks, Aadi’s life has spiralled out of control as he turned to booze to get over the guilt of Lauren accidentally drinking his laced drink and the stress of running a business.

It was his dad, Dev, who told him to go and start a fresh life in India with his cousin, Vikram. Initially, Aadi was opposed to the idea, but eventually he came to the realisation that it was the perfect chance to wipe the slate clean.

Aadi's decision came after he was questioned by police regarding a drug mix-up at a party

“He has been really struggling financially with keeping the business running,” explains the star. “But his life spiralled because he also felt so guilty about what happened to Lauren. He started drinking a lot. At first, Aadi was distraught that his dad wanted to send him away, but he knew eventually it was the right decision to get away and have a fresh start.”

Adam says he had mixed emotions filming his final scenes. “It was both scary and exciting,” he adds. “I had a whole mix of emotions because I did get very nostalgic. I also knew it was the right decision to go.”

But thankfully, he says he didn’t fall to pieces shooting the emotional farewell scenes. “I actually had to use a tear stick for when Aadi started crying,” he reveals. “It’s been fun to film this storyline and I also think it has been good to show business owners who are struggling that they aren’t alone. It can be really tough running a business, as Aadi found.”

Admitting he has grown up a lot during his time on Corrie, Adam says he is particularly proud to have been involved in some gritty storylines. From being shot at while protecting his fiancée, Kelly Neelan, and accidentally letting Lauren Bolton drink LCD to having an affair with married woman Courtney Vance and staging a fake robbery at the corner shop, the actor says he has loved the many twists and turns his character has faced.

“I was 20 when I joined Corrie and I’ve learnt so much,” he says. “I still feel like a kid at heart but I am older now and these five years have flown by. It seems like only yesterday I was arriving on set for the first time to play Aadi. I’ve grown in confidence and I’ve learnt so much about how it works on a soap set as well as the industry as a whole.”

Adam says one of his favourite plotlines was a car explosion in 2021 that saw him fight for his life
Adam says one of his favourite plotlines was a car explosion in 2021 that saw him fight for his life

He picks out a car explosion in 2021 that saw Aadi fight for his life as one of his favourite plotlines. He also loved filming scenes a year later with Millie Gibson, who played Aadi’s fiancée, Kelly. She had been kidnapped by her dad’s criminal associates and was about to be shot. But loved-up Aadi jumped in to save her and took the bullet. Thankfully, the gunshot missed vital organs, but he was then left distraught when Kelly decided to leave Weatherfield for good.

“Aadi got shot trying to protect Kelly,” he recalls fondly. “It was such an honour and pleasure to work alongside Millie. We used Hollywood-style equipment, which was exciting. It was also great fun filming the car explosion stunt in the countryside.

“Filming in the pandemic was also obviously a surreal time, too. We had to keep a seven-metre distance with only two people in each scene at a time, which made filming quite difficult.

“But it’s been fun playing Aadi. I like how he enjoys playing the hero, but he has a flawed side as well. I love his awkwardness!” He also admits he is going to miss Jimmi Harkishin, who plays his on-screen dad, terribly. “I find Jimmi so funny,” he says. “He took me under his wing and showed me the ropes. I learned a lot from him, and he became my second dad – my work dad.

“I’ve kept the ‘golf ball’ set Dev gave Aadi when he asked him to be his best man as a memento. It’s in a chest at home, along with other mementoes from all my other acting jobs.

“I grew up watching Corrie and it’s been so surreal to be able to say I’ve been part of the cast. I have to pinch myself sometimes!” Both his charity shop worker mum, Nora, and dad, Azark, a retired hospitality worker, are very supportive of his decision to leave and have even let him move back in with them in Manchester.

Aadi and Courtney shared a passionate kiss in September 2023
Aadi and Courtney shared a passionate kiss in September 2023

Adam – one of four siblings – says they’ve always encouraged him to follow his dreams. “I got into acting when I was in secondary school. I was a quiet child and getting up on the stage was therapeutic for me. It helped me come out of my shell. Mum and Dad are so proud and we watched last night’s scenes together at home.”

After dropping out of college to attend an acting class run by his now-agent Darren Gordon, Adam landed several TV roles including playing Josh Nubhai in ITV’s The Bay for two seasons. He also starred in Absentia and No Man’s Land.

Adam, who is single, says he hopes to one day travel the world with his job. “I’ve already travelled quite a lot before I took on the Corrie role,” he explains. “I would love to travel everywhere, especially America. I want to get into films and the feature film I’ve been signed up to do is a great stepping stone.

“I am single at the moment. I want to concentrate on my work.” However, he stresses he’s not about to change careers. One newspaper report suggested he was working for his family tailoring business in between roles. “My brother-in-law owns a tailor,” he explains. “So, every now and again I go and help out!”

As for whether he thinks he will ever return to Corrie’s cobbles in the future and the actor smiles as he stresses: “Never say never! But I do hope Aadi does get a second chance in India. He is going to live with his rich aunt, so you never know, he might turn out to be the new Prince of Mumbai!”

Coronation Street double exit news leads to heartbreak in Weatherfield

Coronation Street residents had some devastating news tonight as a double exit appears on the cards for two residents of Weatherfield

Aadi confirmed he’d be moving to India(Image: ITV)

Emotions were running high in Weatherfield tonight, as Coronation Street was hit with a double dose of devastating ‘exit’ news.

During Friday’s episode, Aadi Alahan, who we know will be making an exit from the soap, told his sister Asha about his plans to leave, leaving her heartbroken.

Earlier this year, it was revealed that Aadi, who was played by Zennon Ditchett for a decade until Adam Hussain took over in 2019, would be leaving the soap – and it doesn’t look like his exit is far away…

At the start of the episode, Aadi informed Dev and Asha that the police had let him off with a caution after Lauren reported him after his confession to his role in Lauren’s LSD-induced hallucinations at a party.

Jimmi Harkishin as Dev Alahan and Adam Hussain as Aadi Alahan
Aadi is preparing to leave Weatherfield

“You were right dad, about me leaving this place, and starting all over again in India.” Aadi said after sharing the news. “I’m gonna do it, and I’m gonna look at flights today,” he said.

“Might as well get a move on. Especially now there’s not much around here for me anymore,” he continued.

A devastated Asha then reassured her brother by saying: “That’s not true. You’ve got family, you’ve got friends. We’ll miss you.”

“Hope you’re happy now,” a devastated Asha said to her father Dev, who told Aadi that he must move to India to get back in line again following his recent behaviour.

At the end of the episode, Asha was left in tears while on the phone to Dev – who called to ask her where the big suitcase was in order to pack up Aadi’s belongings. But how will Asha cope when Aadi finally says goodbye?

Offscreen scenes will lead to the news that one Coronation Street character, who exited weeks ago, has been sentenced to four years in prison
Lou was sentenced to four years behind bars(Image: ITV)

Elsewhere, it was judgement day for Lou, as she received her sentencing for attacking Gary Windass earlier this year. The attack came after he refused to give her money for blackmail and threatened to call the police.

It was later revealed that she had been sentenced to four years behind bars, leaving her children Brody, Joanie and Shanice devastated knowing their mum wasn’t coming back home after it was confirmed she had left the soap.

Their dad, Mick was also sent to jail for murdering PC Craig Tinker in devastating scenes.

As Sally and Tim broke the news to the kids, the psychologists paid a visit to Joanie. They then told Sally and Tim it wasn’t in the sisters’ best interests to keep them apart. However, as they were leaving Shanice came running into the living room crying with a bloody knee, announcing that Joanie had thrown something at her.

It was then revealed that Joanie would have to be taken to another family, although Shanice was left gutted exclaiming that she didn’t want her to go. But will she be back with her sister?

It comes after Sally was left horrified earlier this month, when she discovered bruises on Shanice’s arm – leading to the pair calling social services.

Lou’s final scenes aired last month, as it was revealed earlier this year that Lou and Mick would be leaving the cobbles after joining in February.

Coronation Street airs Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 8pm on ITV and ITVX.

Coronation Street star tipped for I’m A Celebrity jungle after quitting ITV soap

Coronation Street star Adam Hussain could be about sign up for the jungle as he has become a favourite of the bookies to brave the reality show amid his soap exit

Adam Hussain has quit his role as Aadi Alahan on Coronation Street and could be about to sign up for the jungle

Coronation Street star Adam Hussain could be about sign up for I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out Of Here! The actor, 24, has played the role of Aadi Alahan on the world’s longest-running television soap since 2020 but recently quit the cobbles and his final scenes are yet to air.

But speculation suggests that Adam could be about to trade the the fictional Manchester backstreet for the Australian Outback, when the reality show returns to screens later this year.

Adam has been priced up at 7/1 to swap the Rovers Return for bugs, rice, and beans. It comes after it was announced that Aadi’s twin sister Asha (Tanisha Gorey) is to ‘reach breaking point’ as part of an upcoming special.

If Adam, who took over the part of shopkeeper Aadi from Zennon Ditchett, does end up venturing off into the jungle, he will certainly not be the first famous face from the soap to take part in Ant and Dec’s long-running reality show, which first aired in 2002. Antony Cotton, who plays knicker stitcher Sean Tully, entered the jungle in 2011 and just missed out on a place in the final, where McFly star Dougie Poynter was crowned winner.

In 2012, Helen Flanagan (Rosie Webster) was voted by the public to face seven consecutive Bushtucker trials, which, at the time, was a record for the programme. And ever since Jennie McAlpine (Fiz Dobbs) joined the jungle in 2017, it has become almost an annual occurrence for a star from the soap to appear.

Last year, Jennie’s on-screen husband Alan Halsall (Tyrone Dobbs) famously struck up a friendship with co-star Tulisa, whilst other Street favourites like Beverley Callard (Liz McDonald), Sair Khan (Alya Nazir), Simon Gregson (Steve McDonald), and Sue Cleaver (Eileen Grimshaw) have braved the programme in recent times.

The news comes just days after Aadi’s exit was teased in sad scenes. As views will know, character has been embroiled in various conflicts over the last few months. Earlier this year, he was unintentionally responsible for Lauren Bolton (Cait Fitton) becoming a victim of spiking when he threw a house party that went wrong, and, amid their budding romance, he has lied to her about the events of that fateful night.

Jimmi Harkishin as Dev Alahan and Adam Hussain as Aadi Alahan
Adam currently stars as the son of Weatherfield business tycoon Dev Alahan but is set to be waving goodbye to the cobbles in upcoming scenes

Aadi was entrusted with the upkeep of the corner shop owned by his dad Dev (Jimmi Harkishin) when he took a break but he ran up debts of £6,000 and then staged a failed robbery with Brody Michaelis (Ryan Mulvey) to try to claim on the insurance.

After all that failed, Aadi finally fessed up to Dev, and his dad learned that his partner Bernie Winter (Jane Hazlegrove) had been in on the initial attempt to cover it all up as well, when she brought forward their wedding in the hopes of getting a rich relative to pay for it.

Having been branded a ‘failure’ by Dev, who has owned and operated multiple Weatherfield businesses since he arrived in 1999, things came to a head for the teenager as he hit a new low. Clearly unsure what to do next, Aadi decided to drink his problems away as he ignored calls and text from Lauren, who had been hoping to meet him that day.

Eventually, he was spotted by builders Gary Windass (Mikey North) and Theo Silverton (James Cartwright). He was blocking their van and it all ended in calamity when he refused to move, as he fell and hit his head on a brick wall. Dev, desperate to find his son after he wasn’t in bed after Lauren came calling for him, swooped onto the scene to see what had happened to his son, but Aadi refused any help from him whatsoever and stormed off.

That night, Dev asked him: “What happened with us? You always used to make me so proud of you. Did I not tell you enough? Is that why you’re punishing me?”

Aadi admitted: “It’s not always easy, trying to live up to you. You’re always going on about everything you achieved. I’m not saying you never praised me but it was only when it made you look good. It was never enough to just be me.” Acknowledging that things have to change, Dev revealed that he had been in touch with his cousin Vikram and has arranged for him to go and work with him in India.

Through tears, Aadi protested: “I’m not moving to India!” but Dev said he ‘could not support him anymore. “You’re just kicking me out?” Aadi shot back, to which Dev confessed through tears of his own: “I don’t want to. But you have left me no choice.” Viewers then saw Aadi and Amy Barlow (Elle Mulvaney) act on their true feelings for each other, but even that went wrong in the end, and the character looks set to depart Weatherfield for good in the coming weeks.

Former Coronation Street resident sentenced to four years in prison offscreen

Offscreen scenes will lead to the news that one Coronation Street character, who exited weeks ago, has been sentenced to four years in prison according to new spoilers

There’s a sad twist for one Coronation Street family next week as they get some upsetting news. The fate of a former character is revealed, and it leaves more than one character “distraught”.

Lou Michaelis has been offscreen for weeks ever since she was imprisoned after attacking Gary Windass. Since then her daughters Joanie and Shanice have been cared for by Tim and Sally Metcalfe, with son Brody also on the cobbles.

It comes as Lou’s exit from the ITV soap was confirmed after a dramatic time, and now there’s an update about her future. The former resident is revealed to have been sentenced to four years in prison next week according to news spoilers, sparking devastation with her family.

The news is announced after Tim and Sally find out Brody has tried to run off with his sisters amid social services getting involved, following both their parents being sent to prison weeks apart. Next week Tim has a word with Brody about what he’s learned and asks him to trust the judgement of the social worker, and adds they only want what is best for the girls.

He and Sally also want to help them, offering to keep the girls with them after some news about Lou. It seems Brody is told about their mother first, as he decides to break the news to his siblings. He soon tells the girls that their mum has been sentenced to four years in prison and it leaves them distraught.

Sally does her best to soothe the sobbing girls who are sad about their mum, no doubt fearing they will never see her again. This update marks the exit of Lou despite calls from fans for her to stay on the show.

The social worker and a psychologist arrive at the house to help the girls process the news. The visitors then explain to Sally and Tim that they are happy for the family to stay together and on the cobbles.

But a moment worries them all when suddenly a loud scream is heard from the garden. So what has happened, and is everyone okay? The girls have been through a lot, as has Brody, amid their dad Mick’s reign of terror on the street with a siege, as well as him murdering police officer and much-loved resident Craig Tinker.

After Mick escaped prison as part of a plan to go on the run with Lou and the kids, things escalated and Kit Green, Brody’s real father, was left injured. Brody has been struggling with the DNA bombshell that Kit is his dad, while we’ve seen them spending more time together.

Coronation Street icon dyes hair ahead of making major comeback this week

Catherine Tyldesley is set to reprise her role as blonde bombshell Eva Price on Coronation Street, and has gone back to her character’s signature colour in time for filming

Catherine Tyldesley has dyed her hair in time for her return to Coronation Street. The actress, 41, is set to be make a major comeback onto the ITV soap as she returns to her signature role of Eva Price, seven years on from her initial exit.

During her initial stint on the cobbles, Eva sported platinum blonde locks but after she quit the soap, Catherine quickly went back to her natural brunette colour as she competed on Strictly Come Dancing. She kept the darker look as she took on roles in shows such as Scarborough and Viewpoint but an Instagram post on Tuesday revealed that she is a blonde once again.

The actress shared two snaps of herself posing with friends as she headed out for dinner, in Manchester and The Sun reports that the outing comes just days before she is supposed to making a return to the set at MediaCityUK to begin filming. Catherine, who was a brunette when she took on her first big role in the BBC drama Lilies prior to joining Coronation Street, previously explained that bosses just felt that it was right that barmaid Eva would have blonde hair. It comes after reports of all the celebrities rumoured to be joining BBC Strictly Come Dancing 2025.

In 2019, she explained during an interview on Lorraine: “When I first started Corrie I’d done a sketch show and was blonde. They felt Eva was blonde and so did I. I keep walking past windows and mirror and think ‘Oh!’ and forget I’ve done it. A lady came up to me and said I think you should be blonde.”

Reports surrounding the return of Leanne Battersby’s sister emerged earlier this year, but then nothing was announced. Fresh reports just last week claimed the planned plot was now approaching.

It’s thought that the move has come about after EastEnders bosses revealed that Kat Slater (Jessie Wallace) and Alfie Moon (Shane Richie) will be taking the reins of the Queen Victoria pub. Aaron McCusker, who starred as Freddie Mercury’s boyfriend in the film Bohemian Rhapsody, is reportedly set to arrive alongside her as her new husband.

A source told The Sun: “Corrie bosses were never going to take EastEnders shrewd decision to reinstate Kat and Alfie at the Vic lying down. So they took their time looking for the perfect actor to play her husband to Eva as she makes her return to Corrie as the new boss of the Rovers.”

Catherine Tyldesley
Catherine is naturally brunette and went back to her original look shortly after she quit Coronation Street in 2018(Image: PA)

The insider added that Corrie bosses knew they had found the ‘perfect’ actor as soon as the Irish-born star walked into the room. They added of his character: “Aaron’s character is also someone not to be messed with, and the locals are going to be in for a shock if they think they can take advantage of his good nature and that cheeky Irish charm.

“It’s the start of an exciting new chapter in the pub’s history.” Aaron is also known for his role as Jamie Maguire in Shameless, whilst Catherine has starred in The Good Ship Murder and earlier this year appeared opposite Siobhan Finneran in an episode of the ITV drama Protection.

She was also set to star in a cancelled touring production of Bonnie and Clyde: The Musical last year and went viral over a social media scandal known as Cakegate in late 2023. The actress first appeared on Coronation Street in 2011 as the daughter of Stella Price (Michelle Collins), who had arrived to take over the pub herself and also reveal herself as the long-lost mother of Leanne Battersby (Jane Danson).

Over the course of seven years, Catherine saw her alter-ego through numerous relationships with the likes of Jason Grimshaw (Ryan Thomas), Rob Donovan (Marc Baylis) and Nick Tilsey (Ben Price). Her most notable relationship was with Aidan Connor (Shayne Ward), but that started to go awry when he began an affair with Maria Connor (Samia Longchambon).

Instead of confronting Aidan head-on about his infidelity, she took revenge by putting a bright pink Range Rover on his credit card and then decided to fake a pregnancy. Maria discovered Eva’s lies and exposed them all at the wedding but Eva later discovered that she was in fact pregnant with Aidan’s baby.

In order to go through with the birth in secret, she went off to a remote cottage and had planned to give baby Susie away to Toyah Battersby (Georgia Taylor). However, Aidan later took his own life and Eva began to grow close to her daughter, eventually opting to leave in the back of a taxi with her for good.

If Eva does return and take over the Rovers, she will be following in the footsteps of former characters such as Annie Walker (Doris Speed), Bet Lynch (Julie Goodyear) and Liz McDonald (Beverley Callard), all of whom have helmed the nation’s most famous pub over the course of the show’s history. One such landlady is Jenny Connor, who is confirmed to be leaving the ITV soap.

Coronation Street’s Abi dealt with major bombshell amid affair with Carl Webster

Coronation Street’s Abi Webster (Sally Carman) was dealt with some major truths as her affair with her brother-in-law Carl Webster (Jonathan Howard) heated up on Monday night’s episode

Abi Webster on Coronation Street was dealt with a series of truth bombshells as her affair with her brother-in-law Carl heated up during Monday night’s episode.

The mechanic, played by Sally Carman, is married to Kevin Webster (Michael Le Vell) on the ITV soap but viewers have seen things bubbling away between her and Carl (Jonathan Howard) for several weeks now. Things came to a head last week when she found out that Kevin, who was diagnosed with testicular cancer earlier this year, had chosen not to tell her that he had been given the all-clear as he suspected something was up.

It was then that Abi finally decided to act on her feelings for Carl and they became physical at the garage, but Abi called the whole thing off just hours later when Carl urged her to go back to her husband. As viewers will know, this was because Kevin discovered that Carl that he and accomplice Fiona Morley (Sara Poyzer) had organised the theft of an expensive car, and could have him arrested at any moment. It comes as one Coronation Street star announced an abrupt exit which saw their alter-ego ‘killed off’ without warning.

On Monday, when barmaid Glenda Shuttleworth (Jodie Prenger) asked Kevin how his cancer treatment was going, he could not come up with a lie quick enough, so Abi took it upon herself to announce that Kevin had finished his chemo and had been given the all-clear, but covered for him by not revealing that this had actually been the case for several weeks. Glenda announced the news to the pub, and Kevin kept up his pretence as she insisted on giving him a pint on the house as the other Weatherfield residents congratulated him.

While it initially looked like Carl had set his sights on Tracy Barlow (Kate Ford) after buying her a drink in the pub, he was soon seen in bed with Abi, who had called round after becoming jealous that Carl had possibly invited Tracy round. Afterwards, he told her: “I didn’t have that on my to-do list. I will have to go to the Rovers more often!” But when Carl received a threatening text message from Fiona about their dodgy dealings, he had to reveal all to Abi after they got dressed. He confessed: “I have seriously messed up. I’ve been doing illegal MOT inspections. For that Fiona. Write-offs, cut and shuts. You name it, I’ve passed them all. And I’ve been doing it from Kev’s garage.”

He tried to explain to a shocked Abi that he had only been doing it to settle huge debts he had accrued but she shot back: “You told me that debt was paid! You lied?! Oh there’s a surprise! Those cars were not roadworthy. Someone could’ve died. Did it give you a bit of a thrill, ruining your brother’s business and then bedding his missus for good measure?!”

In the end, Abi agreed to be Carl’s ‘little secret’ and the pair leapt back into bed together for the second time that day(Image: ITV)

Amidst all this, Kevin invited Abi on a last-minute holiday with him but she told him that she has not forgiven him for all the lies he told her about his cancer. Following a heart-to-heart with her sister-in-law Debbie Webster (Sue Devaney), who was diagnosed with vascular dementia earlier this year, she accepted the invitation but demanded to know from Kevin why he failed to tell her about the MOT scam.

He explained: “Firstly, we couldn’t report it to the police, not without doing damage to the business. And secondly, he’s still my brother and I suppose I’m trying to protect him. For now, we forget about Carl, and concentrate on our marriage. He’s gone from the garage, he’s out of our lives and now it’s about us.”

Despite this, as Kevin was speaking to Abi, she received a text message and quickly read it before putting her phone back in her pocket. She then confronted Carl about the lies he had been telling, and he told her that he had been ‘blackmailed’ after he found out that about the cancer lie. She said: “I came here to call it off, to tell you that I’d forgiven him and I was going to make my marriage work,” but Carl quickly told Abu that she was no longer in love with Kevin.

She confirmed: “Yeah, but he loves me and even with the lies he makes me feel safe,” and reminded Carl that she has her son Alfie to think about as well. In deciding to keep their affair going, Carl vowed to be Abi’s ‘little secret’ for the time being and the pair promptly hopped back into bed together.

Carl is the son of Kevin’s dad Bill Webster (Peter Armitage) and his second wife Elaine (Judy Gridley) and spent most of his life in Germany with his parents until he arrived on the Manchester backstreet earlier this year. In real life, Jonathan spent 10 years in LA and working alongside big-name stars including Brad Pitt and Anthony Hopkins, but the 38-year-old actor ranks landing a part in Corrie among his greatest achievements.

He told The Mirror : “Being in Coronation Street is just as big a thrill as being in a Hollywood film or an American TV series. It’s all the same, everyone’s telling stories, whether it’s a big $200m movie or a soap like Corrie. As a Lancashire lad born and raised, the dream was to be in Coronation Street – that was the ceiling, so it feels wonderfully surreal to now be acting with people like Kevin Webster that I watched religiously as a kid.

“My friends ask me, ‘what you have been up to today?’ and I reply ‘I took Tracy Barlow for a drink in the Rovers Return!’ It’s just incredible to say these things.”

Coronation Street’s next landlady ‘revealed’ as returning legend ahead of Jenny’s exit

Corrie’s Sally Ann Matthews announced recently that she’s leaving the ITV soap and there’s now speculation that a returning star could take over as the owner of the Rovers Return

The next owner of the Rovers Return on Coronation Street will reportedly be a returning character. The news comes after it was announced that actor Sally Ann Matthews, who plays landlady Jenny Connor, is set to leave the ITV show.

It’s been claimed that former cast member Catherine Tyldesley, 41, will be reprising her role as Eva Price, who will take over the pub. It would mark her return after a seven year absence, with her last seen in Weatherfield in 2018.

Catherine is said to begin filming her return later this month ahead of viewers seeing the scenes in the autumn. It comes after ITV fans accuse Alan Titchmarsh of ‘ruining’ garden as foster parents were left sobbing.

Catherine has reportedly been persuaded to return with the promise of major storylines for her character. Eva was last seen on the show in 2018 when she left Weatherfield in a taxi for a new life in France with her daughter Susie.

According to the Sun, Catherine agreed to return to Corrie earlier this year. The outlet adds that she is due to start filming Eva’s comeback next week and her first scenes are then expected to be broadcaster sometime in the autumn.

A source said: “It’s one of the biggest jobs in soap, the landlady of the Rovers Return pub.” They further told the outlet: “Bosses were desperate to get Cath back. They came up with the perfect storyline with her being unveiled as the new landlady of the Rovers.”

It comes following speculation that Eva would return earlier this year. It was reported in February that Catherine would be back on the show, with it suggested that the proposal had been “too good of an opportunity to pass up”.

The actor had previously teased over potentially returning. Whilst on Good Morning Britain just last year, after sparking rumours after reuniting with former co-stars for a birthday celebration, she shared: “I mean, never say never!”

The news of her apparent return this year comes after the latest departure from the cast was announced this week. It was revealed that Sally, 54, who returned in 2015 after a more than 20 year absence, is leaving once again.

She shared the news on Instagram just days ago. Sally, who made her debut as Jenny in 1986, told fans that she hadn’t expected to stay for a decade when she returned. She however said that she wants to take on other roles.

Sally said in her post earlier this week: “I was supposed to stay for five months but ended up doing an extra ten years because I loved it so much. It’s time though to play those parts I always hoped I would when I’d ‘grown up’. Thanks Trafford Wharf Rd for the memories and endless laughter.”

Coronation Street continues tomorrow night from 8pm on ITV and ITVX.

Coronation Street Becky Swain’s real killer ‘solved’ as villain’s return ‘sealed’

Coronation Street fans think a former villain will be revealed as the person who orchestrated the death of Lisa Swain’s wife Becky Swain, and DI Costello could be involved

Becky Swain’s real killer on Coronation Street may have been rumbled according to fans of the ITV soap.

This week’s episodes have left them convinced that an existing character is involved in Becky’s death and a possible cover-up. Not only that, but fans think a past villain may return and be revealed as the reason Becky is dead.

It comes as Lisa Swain continued to dig into her late wife’s demise in recent scenes, after suggestion she may have been a corrupt officer. DI Costello downplayed this as he called out Lisa for sneaking onto his computer to access Becky’s files.

Becky Swain's real killer on Coronation Street may have been rumbled, after a scene with DI Costello

Costello’s reaction, the comments from Logan Radcliffe to Lisa’s partner Carla Connor and a scene with Lisa’s therapist Floyd have now left fans certain a cover-up is confirmed. Not only that, but they think they have figured out how everything ties together.

With Costello appearing to know more than he’s letting on, fans think he is harbouring the true events that led to Becky’s demise, or at least what happened to her. Logan knows something too, with it revealed earlier this year that he and his brother Matty Radcliffe were driving the car that hit and killed her.

Then there’s Floyd’s weird comment to a mystery person on the phone about a “breakthrough” with Lisa during a session, moments after she confessed her fears Becky was corrupt. Fans are now wondering if Floyd is also involved.

Logan and Matty were revealed to be working for former baddie Harvey Gaskell

But it’s a former villain that some fans are convinced knows something, and could even be Becky’s killer – or the person who made it happen. Costello could also be tied in according to the theory, and it could see said villain return to the soap.

Logan and Matty were revealed to be working for former baddie Harvey Gaskell months ago. He targeted David Platt via the brothers, and now fans are wondering if he was up to no good with either Becky involved, or she figured out what was going on.

Fans have wondered if Costello is corrupt and may have been in cahoots with Harvey, and either he or Harvey had the Radcliffe brothers silence Becky – either because she was about to expose them or because she was involved. Taking to social media, fans theorised Harvey would soon be revealed to be the killer, and this is the “mutual friend” who orchestrated an attack, it seems, on Logan in prison on Friday.

One fan said: “OK so my theory is Costello and Becky were both corrupt, working for Harvey Gaskell. Becky was ‘caught out’, an investigation opened and Harvey, seeing her as a liability gets the Radcliffe’s to kill her and Costello to cover it up.”

Another fan said: “Now I’ve a feeling that either the counsellor guy or Costello are involved in someway in Becky’s death.” A third fan said: “Costello is definitely part of this whole thing. ‘He’s been worried about me since Becky died’. He f***ing killed her.”

A further comment read: “Now I’m thinking Costello knows more than he’s letting on!” as another said: “I think so too. I think he is a big part of the reason the Radcliffe’s got away with so much.”

Finally next week, Theo and Todd consider moving in together, but Theo remains irritated by Todd’s harmless antics at the stag do.

When Todd spends time with Summer Spellman Theo has enough, and refuses to join them. Things get worse when a moment with drunken Aadi leads to the latter falling and hitting his head, and Theo gets the blame.

As the police reveal there’s been a report of an incident at the precinct and he needs to answer some questions, Theo is led away to the station as seen by Billy Mayhew. But it’s when a comment is made about Theo having been involved in a “violent crime” in the past that Todd is left concerned and begins to investigate – but what will he find out?

Coronation Street wedding day interrupted by horror collapse as death ‘sealed’

Love is in the air for Dev Alahan and Bernie Winter on Coronation Street – but a burglary, debauched behaviour, and a medical emergency risk ruining their big day

Dev Alahan and Bernie Winter are set to marry on Coronation Street this week
Dev Alahan and Bernie Winter are set to marry on Coronation Street this week

It is wedding season on Coronation Street – and Dev Alahan and Bernie Winter are set to tie the knot with a lavish ceremony. But as fans of the long-running ITV continuing drama will know – happiness rarely runs smooth in the world of soaps.

Dev, played by Jimmi Harkishin, has been living on the Cobbles since 1999 and married Sunita Alahan, played by Shobna Gulati, in 2004 – before she was killed off in 2013, surviving the Rover’s fire only to be murdered by arsonist Karl Munro, played by John Michie. Fans may be hoping Dev has a happier second marriage.

And he is set to swap vows with Bernie, played by Jane Hazlegrove, in scenes this coming week. The pair have been an on-screen item since September last year – growing close after the death of Bernie’s son, Paul.

After enduring a brief split, the pair will become husband and wife – if they can survive a series of dramas. Stag party shenanigans, a burglary, a surprise proposal, a shock collapse and a hospital dash midway through the ceremony all look to cause havoc with the wedding plans.

Fans tuning in at the start of the week will see Dev and Bernie embracing the last of their single lives as they celebrate their stag and hen parties. But when Bernie learns Dev and the boys have hired a pole dancer to join them at the Rovers, she is not best pleased.

With the ceremony set to appear on Wednesday’s episode, trials face the couple as some guests fall ill and have to watch via a live stream. Bernie’s emotions run wild when she forgets her lucky charm locket that contains a photo of late son, Paul – and disaster strikes when she runs home to retrieve it only to find a burglar in her house.

While the big day is supposed to be all about Dev and Bernie, Debbie Webster steals some attention for herself when she gets down on one knee to propose to Ronnie. And fans will need to wait to find out if Bernie even makes it down the aisle – as she collapses in front of Dev, leaving him scared for the life of his bride.

The Corrie cast have been discussing all the highs and lows of the wedding day plans. Bernie actress Jane, 57, laughs: “The day goes from bad to worse!

“That’s what is so brilliant about Coronation Street, you don’t know what you’re going to get until you open the page of the script and that’s what is so fantastic about how it plays out – we’ve got this woman raving down the aisle and the next minute she’s collapsed and an ambulance is on its way!”

Jane also revealed that she had a hand in the design of Bernie’s wedding dress.

She revealed: “I knew that Bernie wouldn’t go down the road of wearing a traditional dress. I had seen some old footage of Elkie Brookes on TV and she was wearing a kaftan.

“I am a big fan of Elkie so that was the initial inspiration, but this is for Bernie so it needed to be a bit extra. Our fantastic talented costume department came up with the 1970s style white dress that is a bit Elkie Brookes, a bit Demis Roussos and very Bernie Winter.”

Fans can see all the drama unfold as Coronation Street airs this week on ITV1 and via ITVX on Monday at 8pm, Wednesday at 8pm, and Friday at 8pm.

Coronation Street star bows out in sad scenes as fans call for U-turn

Coronation Street character Lou Michaelis (Farrel Hefarty) left the programme during Wedneday night’s episode of the ITV soap in emotional scenes that played out behind bars

Coronation Street
A Coronation Street character had to say goodbye to her children in heartbreaking scenes

Lou Michaelis bowed out of Coronation Street on Wednesday as she tearfully said goodbye to her children from behind bars – amid calls from fans to bring her back.

The character, played by Farrel Hegarty, has only been on the ITV soap for a matter of months but has had an explosive time of it, with many viewers not wanting her to go. She arrived alongside her husband Mick Michaelis (Joe Layton), who made an enemy of various Weatherfield residents, and in May, he was jailed for the murder of PC Craig Tinker ( Colson Smith ).

Prior to that, a flashback episode confirmed that after Mick had gone to prison for a crime Kit Green committed, and had become an enemy of the policeman in the process. But things were made worse when Mick discovered that Kit and Lou had conceived a baby when he was behind bars, meaning that teenager Brody (Ryan Mulvey) was not his son as he had initially thought.

Shortly after the couple’s debut, viewers were introduced to their daughters Joanie (Savanna Pennigton) and Shanice (Molly Kilduff), and things reached a climax when Mick broke out of prison in an attempt to take back his eldest. A rooftop tussle with Kit ended in a near-fatal stabbing for the police officer whilst Sally Metcalfe (Sally Dynevor) tried to shield Joanie from danger before Mick went back to jail.

Lou Michaelis (Farrel Hegarty) decided to say goodbye to her daughters as she began a lengthy prison sentence

What’s more, another flashback episode had revealed that Lou had put Gary Windass (Mikey North) in a coma when she hit him over the head amid a failed blackmail attempt, and she too was put behind bars. Mick’s final scenes aired last week, and on Wednesday’s edition of soap, Lou had accepted the fact that she was also going to be inside for a long time after Sally refused to loan her the money she would need for top lawyers.

She told the Underworld machinist: “I’ve come to terms with the fact that I’m gonna do a decent stretch and I don’t want you bringing the kids to see me anymore. Not regularly, any road. I don’t want them to get used to seeing me in here. In this place.” Through tears, she insisted to Sally: “I just think it’s best I say goodbye to them for now. For all our sakes.”

“It’s gonna be all right though, in a long time. You will get through this,”, Sally tried to reassure her as the pair of them shared a heartfelt parting themselves. Sally vowed to take care of the girls while Lou is behind bars, and the schoolchildren enjoyed one last hug with their mum before they said goodbye. Just after the emotional farewell, Brody also promised his mum that he would be there for his half-sisters.

Sally Metcalfe as Sally Dynevor and Farrel Hegarty as Lou Michaelis
Lou has entrusted Sally Metcalfe (Sally Dynevor) with the care of her young daughters while she is in jail

This is not the first time Sally has been responsible for two girls, as she and ex-husband Kevin Webster (Michael Le Vell) have Rosie (Helen Flanagan) and Sophie (Brooke Vincent) together. Whilst her own daughters are no longer residing in Weatherfield, some of the storylines included Sally trying to push Rosie into stage school in the years before she started up an affair with her teacher John Stape (Graeme Hawley), and learning to accept her youngest as a lesbian.

Meanwhile, Sally’s second husband Tim Metcalfe (Joe Duttine) is also the father of former regular Faye Windass (Ellie Leach), and even though she was adopted by Anna Windass (Debbie Rush) as a child, he became a constant presence for her throughout her tumultuous teenage years, which saw her at the centre of a violet bullying storyline as well as a secret pregnancy.

At the time of Lou’s debut on Coronation Street, she and her on-screen husband were dubbed as the new versions of Les and Janice Battersby, but only a short while after playing the hairdresser, Farrel vaguely discussed the exit for the first time to The Mirror and other press. She teased what was ahead, while also confirming the fact that she did know from the start she would be leaving after a matter of months, with an exit always on the cards despite some reports.

She explained of why she took on the short-term role, knowing she would only be there for a specific amount of time: “I just think she really appealed to me because she’s the sort of person who’s never had it easy.

“She’s built up a lot of coping mechanisms, where she’s presenting a hard and feisty character with her walls up, and all she’s ever known is these fiery relationships. And probably fiery relationships with a lot of people in her life, which is what makes a character like that so interesting.

“Because she’s a force and irrational. I read scripts and I go, ‘Oh God! What’s she doing now? What’s she saying now?’ Because it’s not a way that I would behave, and because of that, it’s so much fun to play. It’s that desperation to protect that inner circle and because of that, she makes a mess of things. But a character like that is so fun to play, because there’s never a dull moment.”

Coronation Street Noah’s real intentions for Danielle revealed as ‘messy’ twists ahead

Coronation Street actress Natalie Anderson, who plays Danielle Silverton on the ITV soap, has responded to a new romance twist involving newcomer Noah on the show

One Coronation Street star has reacted to a new twist involving two characters, which comes as a shock to some residents.

Spoilers for next weeks episodes of the ITV soap revealed that sinister character Noah strikes up a romance with Danielle Silverton in upcoming scenes. The romance is exposed next week to Danielle’s ex Theo Silverton, who shares a sad past with Noah.

Noah was revealed to have been involved when Theo was forced into conversion therapy years earlier. Theo, who only recently began to accept his sexuality and started a relationship with Todd Grimshaw, has struggled with the trauma of his past.

Things have turned nasty with wife Danielle who was heartbroken when Theo revealed he was leaving her for Todd, with their children also meddling to stop this from happening. So when Theo finds out Noah and Danielle are now an item, he does not take it very well.

But is the relationship real, and does Noah have a sinister plan for Danielle amid his history with Theo and now his drama with Todd? Is Danielle using Noah to hurt Theo knowing what went down?

Speaking about the big twist and what’s ahead, Danielle actress Natalie Anderson revealed Noah’s real intentions for her character. She also teased whether Danielle was being genuine, and teased “messy” scenes ahead.

She shared: “Noah is so disappointed in Theo and his choice because he’s so devoutly religious. Noah is angry and thinks if you don’t want to take care of this amazing family, I will. He is stepping up to the plate, looking after Danielle and the children, keeping them in the faith, providing a happy, stable relationship.

“There’s an element of duty from Noah. He’s very cosy and getting his feet under the table. Its for him to keep the family unit together and make sure Danielle and the children are not questioning the faith as well.

“There’s an agenda for Noah to protect this family unit from this awfulness that is happening to her, and be the hero.” As for Danielle’s plans, she went on: “There’s two things happening. One is trying to show Theo what he’s missing with his family life, this is what he’s throwing away.

“And there might be an element of her trying to fill the void, Danielle and Theo were married for 19 years, that’s a huge amount of time. I’ve been with my husband 20 years and can’t even imagine him not being around. It’s a little bit of a rebound.”

Natalie added: “While she cares for Noah but is not completely committing wholeheartedly, she is kind of drawing this out a little bit. If there’s an opportunity to be around Theo, she will take it.

“On the one hand she wants to do the right thing by her kids, but the right thing for her would be for their dad to come home and she’s not going to give up on that.”

On what’s ahead, she said: “As you can imagine it does get messier and more heated. We fall into two camps between Danielle and Theo, and the children will be caught in the middle of that. It is difficult, and representative of a lot of families going through messy divorces.

“That’s been amazing to play and its not something I’ve done before, there’s a lot of figuring out what’s next and figuring out what’s best for the children. When it starts to become a legal thing, how nasty does that get?

“It’s one thing trying to sort it out between yourselves, but when it gets to that next level things becomes more weaponised. There are some calculating things coming up, I’m not sure the audience will still be on Danielle’s side after that!”

Spoilers for next week’s Coronation Street see drama, chaos and a new arrival, as well as an exit teased.

One character vows to leave amid a shock affair that threatens to tear a family apart. There’s a visit for one family from a relative, who makes their debut – played by an actress who has been on the ITV soap before.

Josephine Lloyd-Welcome will play Dev’s Aunty Rani, while she’s played different roles in the past on the ITV soap. More than one character takes revenge of sorts next week too, while there’s a discovery as we find out what Carla Connor has been hiding.

Let’s kick things off with the Websters, and an exit could be looming as an affair begins. With Kevin Webster still lying about his cancer results, making wife Abi Franklin believe he needs more treatment, his brother Carl Webster fights the urge to tell her the truth amid their secret feelings.

Abi does end up finding out the truth from someone else, confronting Kevin who admits his lie and explains he did it out of fear she would leave him for his brother Carl. He ends up pushing her straight into Carl’s arms though, and they begin to kiss passionately.

Despite their moment of intimacy, Carl tells Abi she would be right to stick with Kevin and that they should stay apart from now on. When Kevin sacks his brother from the garage after his recent dodgy dealings, Carl decides a fresh start is needed and he plans to move away from Weatherfield.

When Abi finds out she’s left gutted, but will Carl stay? And what will Abi do? Elsewhere, in the fallout to Lily Platt terrorising her cousin Sam Blakeman, he gets his own back next week with a fake story about a robbery at her home.

Lily’s left terrified unaware Sam has taken revenge after her recent behaviour. Soon, Sam is confiding in Toyah Battersby about his anxiety and his recent panic attacks – but will he tell his dad Nick?

There’s more drama for the Bailey family too, as James moves ahead with the adoption plans for his sister Dee-Dee’ daughter Laila, amid her torn over what she wants to do. Ed Bailey is keen for his kids to clear the air as they remain divided over Laila’s future, while James is plotting to leave – but will he take the baby with him?

Meanwhile Dee-Dee can’t help but smile when she bumps into newcomer Ollie who she recently met at the pub. There’s a new face on the show next week, as Dev’s aunt arrives ahead of his wedding to Bernie Winter.

When she shows up unannounced though the family panic, especially as Aunty Rani has offered to pay for the wedding – while Bernie and Dev’s son Aadi are still hiding the latter’s money issues. When Aunty Rani reveals her plan to create a spreadsheet detailing all the wedding costs so she can keep tabs on the amount she’s spent, Bernie and Aadi hide their dismay – but what are they up to?

There's more trouble ahead for Todd Grimshaw and new partner Theo Silverton

There’s more trouble ahead for Todd Grimshaw and new partner Theo Silverton. Todd has to attend a restorative justice session with Noah, after he attacked him recently over his past with Theo.

Todd had seen him practicing conversion therapy on a member of the congregation and took action, after Noah pushed Theo into this years earlier. But there’s a bigger twist ahead when Noah seems to take payback, and maybe Theo’s wife Danielle does too.

It’s revealed they are dating, much to the horror of Todd and Theo given what Noah did. Theo ends up lashing out but accidentally hurts his son Miles leading to him being told he isn’t allowed to see his kids.

When Billy Mayhew tries to help with the situation it backfires, leaving Theo lashing out once more and telling lies – with Todd horrified. Finally next week, we learn what Carla was hiding from her partner Lisa Swain amid her turmoil over her past.

Skipping therapy, Lisa instead spends some time at her late wife Becky’s grave ahead of their anniversary. Carla supports Lisa, and as the day arrives Lisa is clearly struggling.

Carla and stepdaughter Betsy Swain are worried about Lisa, knowing she’s not doing well at all. Lisa insists she’s okay though and heads off for another therapy session.

She does open up to her therapist, with us finally realising what is bothering the detective. She confesses that she often wonders if there was more to Becky’s death than meets the eye. With questions continuing over whether Becky was corrupt or not, it’s clear she needs to know what really happened to Becky and what was going on with her wife before her death in order for her to move on.

Spoilers for next week's Coronation Street see drama, chaos and a new arrival

She has no idea that Carla is on a mission to get her those answers, with her visiting Logan Radcliffe in prison who clearly knows something. Logan’s link to what happened to Becky was explored on the show earlier this year, while Betsy failed to get anything out of Logan.

Carla decides to try though, determined to help Lisa and get to the bottom of what really happened. Does she get anything out of Logan though? Later on the week, Lisa does some digging of her own.

She sneaks into DI Costello’s office and searches his email for any reference to Becky Swain. But will she find anything out and will she be caught? It seems she finds something out about Kit Green as she soon confronts her colleague.

She tells him she saw his name on the computer which stated that he had asked for access to Becky’s file. Having it out with Kit, it’s not revealed what he says or what this means, but she later tells Carla she cannot work with Kit anymore.

She slams the detective for going behind her back, unaware Carla, out of love, has done the same. But will Carla admit what she’s up to, and how will Lisa react?
