Netflix is axing a “superbly dark and bizarre” black comedy that’s been hailed “as close to perfection as water”.
An “insanely brilliant” comedy drama with a perfect 100% rating will be leaving Netflix in a matter of days.
Netflix subscribers have been binge-watching some of the streamer’s biggest releases of 2026 so far from Harlan Coben’s Run Away to His and Hers but some may now be after something slightly more on the comical side.
Originally released 10 years ago on Channel 4, this hugely popular black comedy revolves around a “profoundly eccentric and dysfunctional family” as they struggle with emotional turmoil.
Netflix teases: “Between a troubled marriage, a senile granny and twins constantly in rivalry, a crumbling household struggles to barely keep it together.”
What makes Flowers even more of a must-watch series is the fact that it stars The Night Manager and The Crown legend Olivia Colman as the matriarch of the troubled family, Deborah Flowers.
Colman is joined by Too Much and Amadeus actor Will Sharpe, Bloods’ Julian Barrett and Summerwater actor Daniel Rigby.
Unfortunately for subscribers just discovering the hit dark comedy, both seasons of Flowers will be removed from Netflix on Thursday, January 22.
So fans haven’t got very long to binge-watch the series before it’s axed from the streamer.
Fans have been flocking to social media for years to sing Flowers’ praises, with the show scoring a perfect 100% rating on Rotten Tomatoes.
While someone said it was a “sublimely dark fairytale”, another described is as “jaw-dropping amazing and insanely brilliant”.
Labelling it “brilliant and uncomfortable”, a third echoed: “Flowers is like a warm hug from someone who loves you, whose love you feel you don’t deserve.”
“Beautiful, absurd and incredibly touching” a fellow user described it as “funny, dark and heartbreaking”, and someone else simply stated that it was the “best show I’ve ever found on Netflix”.
This fan wasn’t the only one to hold it to such high standards either.
“This is one of the best comedy/dramas ever, it deserves to become a cult classic”, a viewer agreed. “If you only watch one thing this year, make it flowers.”
Another added: “The best series I’ve ever seen. That’s all you need to know.”
Flowers is leaving Netflix on Thursday, January 22.
