Man Utd transfer news LIVE: Italian giants ‘eye’ Hojlund, United ‘consider’ Real Madrid star, Donnarumma’s price tag

Inside Sesko’s life off the pitch

Benjamin Sesko made his Manchester United in Sunday’s defeat to Arsenal.

On the field, the £74million striker made little impact as his side crashed to a 1-0 defeat at Old Trafford.

But off it, Sesko leads a fabulous lifestyle full of glitz and glamour.

Napoli pushing for Hojlund

Napoli are pushing to sign Rasmus Hojlund from Man Utd, according to football journalist Gianluca Di Marzio.

Negotiations with United are understood to be entering the advanced stages, with Napoli requesting a loan deal with the option to buy.

United plot Real raid

Manchester United are reportedly eyeing a shock move for Real Madrid ace Eduardo Camavinga.

Red Devils boss Ruben Amorin is eager to add some defensive steel to his midfield before the transfer window closes on September 1.

Their interest in Brighton’s Carlos Baleba has reportedly cooled due to the “difficulty” in getting a deal over the line this close to deadline day.

And according to reports in Spain, United are now considering trying to sign Camavinga from Real.

It’s claimed the Old Trafford club are toying with the idea of submitting a £69million bid for the 22-year-old, who Amorim is said to be a big admirer of.

Man Utd transfer news LIVE: United ANNOUNCE Benjamin Sesko, Garnacho’s EXIT updates, Baleba contact made

How Sesko sizes up

Sesko’s imminent announcement at Man Utd will make him the club’s third high-profile attacking signing of the summer.

His £74million fee from RB Leipzig raises the Red Devils’ spending in the department to over £200million for the window.

But transfer fees are not the only place they are splashing the cash this window.

Bryan Mbeumo, Matheus Cunha and Benjamin Sesko all slot into the list of the top 10 highest earners at the club after their arrivals.

Newcastle scramble after Sesko loss

Newcastle are considering a move for Porto striker Samu Aghehowa to bolster their attacking options.

The 21-year old is one of a few options the club are looking at according to transfer guru David Ornstein.

The news comes after Newcastle’s nightmare window was made worse yet again, as Slovenian forward Benjamin Sesko chose Man Utd over a move to the North East.

The Magpies are also looking at other options including Brentford’s Yoanne Wissa and Aston Villa’s Ollie Watkins.

They have also reportedly been offered Juventus’ Dusan Vlahovic as part of a shock swap deal with midfielder Sandro Tonali.

Ratcliffe reflects on Carrington upgrade

Man Utd co-owner Jim Ratcliffe is pleased with the outcome of the works on Carrington.

He said of the project: “Following a review of the facility last year, we made a quick decision to invest significantly in the creation of a world-class performance environment for staff and players to reflect our ambition and vision for Manchester United.

“We are delighted with the outcome and are confident the new facility will play an important role in building a winning culture at the club.”

Club complete works on Carrington

Man Utd have announced the completion of the £50million redevelopment of the men’s first-team building at the Carrington Training Complex.

The year-long project, led by Foster + Partners under the direction of renowned Mancunian architect Lord Norman Foster, has successfully delivered a leading-edge, high-performance training environment designed to inspire collaboration, innovation and excellence.

The project, financed with part of the £250m of capital invested into the club by Sir Jim Ratcliffe last year, has been completed on time and within budget, more than a week before the start of the 2025/26 Premier League season. Equipment and technology have been upgraded throughout, with a focus on fitness, nutrition, recovery and team unity.

Designed with input from players and staff, priority has been placed on functionality, openness, and connectivity, with increased natural light and open workspaces.

Man Utd transfer news LIVE: Sesko LANDS in Manchester ahead of medical, Garnacho’s EXIT updates, Baleba contact made

Rashford facing Barcelona nightmare

Marcus Rashford is one of seven Barcelona stars at risk of not being registered in time for their LaLiga opener.

As has been the case throughout the last few years, Barca find themselves scrambling around in order to navigate LaLiga financial rules and register all their players.

With one of their highest-earners Marc-Andre ter Stegen a long-term absentee, the Catalan side felt that they had found a loophole in order to solve their issues.

In order to do so, however, club bosses need Ter Stegen to sign off on a medical report being sent to the league, which he has so far failed to do.

That means up to SEVEN Barcelona stars may be unable to play against RCD Mallorca, including Rashford.

Sesko delivery

Benjamin has touched down in the UK ahead of his medical with Manchester United.

The Slovenia international is on the verge of completing a sensational transfer from RB Leipzig to the Red Devils.

United have been battling Prem rivals Newcastle for the striker’s signature and stole a march on the Magpies on Thursday by agreeing a £74million deal with Leipzig for the 22-year-old.

The deal will see United pay an initial £66.5m and an additional £7.3m in add-ons.

When is Sesko’s unveiling?

Benjamin Sesko will complete his transfer to Man United today.

But his announcement may not be made today too.

Fabrizio Romano has claimed that the Red Devils will confirm the transfer on Saturday.

It is even possible that he could be presented to fans at the pre-season friendly against Fiorentina.

Sesko’s plan today

Benjamin Sesko is set to become a Manchester United player TODAY.

The Slovenian flew into Manchester last night on a private jet ahead of his £74million move from RB Leipzig.

It is thought that he will have his medical and sign his contract later today.

Hojlund suitor

Rasmus Hojlund reportedly has one named suitor this summer.

The striker could be allowed to leave Manchester United on loan following the arrival of Benjamin Sesko.

Fabrizio Romano has claimed that AC Milan are interested in the Dane and could make another move for him before the end of the window.

Man Utd transfer news LIVE: Red Devils make contact for Baleba, Sesko ‘AGREES United move’, Maguire offers ‘REJECTED’

Greenwood ready for big international call

Mason Greenwood is on course to return to international football – but not with England.

The disgraced former Manchester United winger made his Three Lions debut in a Nations League clash with Iceland back in 2020.

Benjamin Sesko latest as United step up interest

Manchester United are growing confident that Benjamin Sesko wants a switch to Old Trafford, according to the Manchester Evening News.

The Reds have tabled a €75m (£65.3m) bid — with a further €10m (£8.7m) in add-ons — to land the RB Leipzig hotshot.

Newcastle have offered more cash, but the 22-year-old’s preference could prove decisive.

Harry is a man in demand

Manchester United have rejected a stunning FIVE approaches for Harry Maguire this summer.

The future of Maguire, 32, had been uncertain this summer as United eyed a clearout following their worst-ever Premier League season that saw them finish a lowly 15th place.

Sesko gave United what they needed before bid was placed

Manchester United are looking to close the deal for Benjamin Sesko.

But according to reports, the move was only possible after the club confirmed that the RB Leipzig striker wanted them just as much as they wanted him.

Ruben Amorim’s side are determined to bring in players who genuinely want to play for them — which is why they waited to hear directly from Sesko before making their move.

Forgotten Manchester United star linekd to Al Nassr

Al Nassr have made contact with Marseille over a potential move for Mason Greenwood, according to talkSPORT.

The 23-year-old only joined the French side from Manchester United last summer in a £26.6million deal — but is already attracting big-money interest.

Marseille are reluctant to sell, despite re-signing Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang on a free.

But it’s believed an offer of more than £85m could tempt the Ligue 1 club to the table.

The Saudi giants are watching closely.

United dealt Hjulmand setback

According to Italian paper Corriere dello Sport, Juventus have struck a preliminary deal with Morten Hjulmand ahead of a summer move from Sporting.

But the Old Lady are still haggling over the fee after their opening bid was knocked back.

Juve have reportedly offered a player-plus-cash deal — with Douglas Luiz included — to try and sweeten the pot.

Where does De Gea rank?

David De Gea made over 400 appearances during his time at Manchester United.

This puts him above some of the club’s biggest legends in the Premier League era.

Here are Man United’s ten most capped players since the start of the Prem…

1. Ryan Giggs – 632
2. Paul Scholes – 499
3. David de Gea – 415
4. Gary Neville – 400
5. Wayne Rooney – 393
6. Roy Keane – 326
7. Michael Carrick – 316
8. Rio Ferdinand – 312
9. Denis Irwin – 296
10. Marcus Rashford – 287

De Gea set for return

Former Manchester United star David De Gea is set for an emotional return to Old Trafford.

The goalkeeper left the club in 2023 after 12 years at the club and is now at Fiorentina.

He will likely be in goal for the Italian side for the pre-season friendly match in Manchester on Saturday.

Rube Awakening

Ruben Amorim will use state-of-the-art technology to find out who isn’t pulling their weight at Manchester United.

Amorim has already banished Marcus Rashford, Jadon Sancho, Alejandro Garnacho, Antony and Tyrell Malacia.

And he could be set to add a few more names to his “bomb squad” thanks to the implementation of the most elite fitness apparatus.

Amorim’s troops will this season wear STATSports’ Apex 2.0 GPS performance tracker vests during training and in matches to keep tabs on their respective outputs.

The trackers will provide “real-time kinematics” to the former Sporting Lisbon boss and his staff with a whopping FIVE MILLION data points over a 90-minute period.

The tracker is said to be 100 PER CENT accurate, meaning anyone deemed to be not pulling their weight will have no leg to stand on.

Jackson could leave

Chelsea star and Manchester United target Nicolas Jackson could be on his way out of West London, according to reports.

The Athletic have claimed that the striker is “increasingly likely” to leave Stamford Bridge this summer.

He has seen his competition at the Blues grow with the arrivals of Joao Pedro and Liam Delap.

He has been linked with mulitple clubs including Man United, Newcastle and West Ham.

Man Utd transfer news LIVE: Red Devils ‘in Sesko talks’, United to launch ‘bid’ for Lopez, Germans ‘want Hojlund’

He’s not for sale, Main

Manchester United have reportedly performed a U-turn on the prospect of selling Kobbie Mainoo to help balance the books.

That’s according to former club scout Mick Brown, who told Football Insider: “There are a number of players Man United want to get rid of.

“From what I understand, Kobbie Mainoo is not one of them after a change of mind.

“The likes of Garnacho, Sancho and the others who have been left out of training in pre-season, that’s who the club are looking to raise money from.

“In my opinion, they should never have been considering letting Kobbie Mainoo go, it was a crazy idea.

“After he didn’t sign that new contract, it looked like he had decided he wanted to leave.

“That interest didn’t really come as heavily as they maybe expected, but I won’t complain about that.

“From what I hear, he’s going to be happy to stay into the new season and hopes he’ll be a bigger part of the team as Amorim is going to use him more regularly.”

Fabrizio Romano said on his YouTube channel: “I’m told that the negotiation club to club has not started yet. But sources at Crystal Palace expect Arsenal to arrive for Eze.

“Why? Because Arsenal have been in contact for months now with the agents of Eze, because Eze is very appreciated by Arsenal, because Arsenal still want to add the player if they will have the opportunity to.

“They spoke to the player several times and the player is also very keen on a move. So Palace expect Arsenal to arrive.”

Merino talks Spurs loss

Mikel Merino reckons Arsenal’s loss to Spurs can be used as a catalyst for a solid start to the new Premier League season.

The Spain international said: “Obviously, winning is a priority for us, but in pre-season, there are other things that have a lot of value, like getting fit, keeping that connection with the fans here in this amazing city.

“We adapted quickly to the pitch, to the opponent, I think we dominated most of the game.

“The result is obviously the worst part, but we have to take the positives.

“Obviously, this feeling is going to be the gasoline for the season to keep growing, keep learning and hopefully go upwards.”

Arteta praises Dowman

Mikel Arteta has heaped praise on Max Dowman for his displays during pre-season.

He said: “I’m not surprised, he’s been really impressive with what he’s done again at his age, the way he has entered the matches and with that determination, that quality, that decisiveness I would say.

“The same with the other kids that played, so it was another exposure to them, which is not easy, especially at that age.

“They certainly have done so, so well and made a lot of people proud.”

Tog on for new Gunners’ job

Arsenal are set to appoint Matteo Tognozzi in a senior recruitment role, according to reports.

Tognozzi has previously worked with Juventus and Granada.

He is set to assist new sporting director Andrea Berta and James Ellis as head of recruitment.

Red Devils flying – with Arsenal fourth

EXCLUSIVE: Manchester United may have had one of their worst seasons — but they topped the league for shirt sales at airports, writes RICHARD MORIARTY.

More fans bought Red Devils jerseys than those from the likes of Man City and Liverpool during the Prem season, figures show.

Liverpool may have clinched the title but among shoppers at JD Sports outlets at London Stansted and East Midlands, as well as, unsurprisingly, Manchester, their tops were popular enough only for fourth place.

United’s local rivals Man City ranked second, with England shirts third.

Retro also appears to be making a revival, with 1990s England shirts in the top 20.

While the Red Devils tops of Bruno Fernandes and Co took top spot overall, there were regional variations.

Arsenal kit was the best-seller at Stansted and the Gunners appeared in the top five across all three airports, owned by Manchester Airport Group.

Prem strugglers Tottenham were only eighth at Stansted, their nearest airport.

They were the fourth-placed London team, also behind Chelsea and West Ham, and were even beaten by Paris Saint-Germain and AC Milan across all airports.

Mbeumo battle hots up

Brentford would hold out for £70million for Bryan Mbeumo – as Tottenham and Manchester United continue to circle for the striker.

Spurs’ reported pursuit of Bees’ manager Thomas Frank has wobbled United’s position as favourites to land the Cameroonian.

Brentford still hope to keep hold of the 25-year-old.

And it’s thought United have already made two offers, including £50m plus £10m add-ons.

But the Bees ideally want at least another £10m on top of that.

Partey time up?

Arsenal reportedly tabled a “competitive offer” to Thomas Partey around ten days ago.

The club are yet to hear whether the midfielder will accept or leave on a free at the end of this month.

Partey is said to be “cautious” over signing the deal as he is unclear on his squad status amid Martin Zubimendi’s arrival from Real Sociedad.

Rogers ‘would cost significant fee’

Arsenal-linked Morgan Rogers won’t come cheap.

Aston Villa’s attacking midfielder, 22, has won his first four England caps amid a brilliant season.

But failing to reach the Champions League could leave Villa vulnerable to offers for some of their best players.

That’s especially so as The Athletic suggest the club are at risk from financial rules.

However, The Times stress Villa would demand a “significant fee” to land one of the Prem’s most improved players.

Zubimendi insists he has ‘options’

Arsenal’s hopes of sealing Martin Zubimendi’s capture might not be as smooth as thought.

And that’s according to the Real Sociedad midfielder himself.

Real Madrid are being linked with an approach for the Spain anchorman.

And the Sociedad legend has claimed in an interview his future is still uncertain.

Radio Nacional de Espana asked the 26-year-old if he might stay at his only club so far.

He replied: “Of course there are options.

“But it’s true that it seems like it’s going to be a different, long summer, and I don’t know how it will end.

“I don’t think thinking about it right now is my priority.

“I’m here with the national team, which I think is already quite demanding, and if I have to say something, then I will.”

Arsenal transfer news LIVE: Nico Williams ‘reluctant’ to move, talks with Kudus held, Madrid planning SWOOP for target

Would be in-Sane

Arsenal have moved ahead of rivals Tottenham in the race for Leroy Sane, according to reports.

Bild state that the Gunners are in pole position to swoop should the German decide to leave Bayern Munich.

His current deal expires at the end of this month.

The ex-Manchester City man has hired a new agent – but signing a contract extension at the Allianz remains on the cards.

Kud be keen?

Arsenal have reportedly opened talks with West Ham over Mohammed Kudus.

The Ghana winger is expected to be at the centre of a transfer tug-of-war this summer.

And Football Transfers claim the Gunners want to test the Hammers’ resolve.

Kudus reportedly has an £84m release clause.

Arsenal will not pay that much and instead hope to seal a deal for around £50m.

Bukayo blow

Bukayo Saka missed England’s dire 1-0 win over Andorra in World Cup qualifying.

Saka only trained once with his Three Lions team-mates ahead of the clash in Barcelona amid fitness issues.

The winger picked up a knock on the final day of the season against Southampton and was not risked.

FINDERS KEPAS

Arsenal are on the verge of signing Chelsea goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga, reports claim.

And the Gunners will pay just a £5m release clause to their London rivals, who once made Kepa the world’s most expensive goalkeeper.

Arsenal had made Kepa their top target as they look to recruit a deputy to No 1 goalkeeper David Raya.

But the 30-year-old Spanish stopper, who just enjoyed a solid season as Bournemouth’s first-choice stopper, won’t settle for a No 2 spot under Mikel Arteta.

According to The Athletic, Arsenal are “close” to activating Kepa’s £5m release clause, after he kept nine clean sheets in 31 Prem appearances this term.

Kepa has just 12 months left on his contract at Stamford Bridge, having made 35 appearances at Bournemouth in all competitions.

The Spaniard joined Chelsea for a £71.6m fee from Athletic Club in 2018 and has featured 163 times for the West London side, winning four major honours.

Jor next move

Arsenal confirmed Jorginho’s release yesterday.

But the Italian was not out of work for long.

He has signed a three-year deal with Flamengo.

And the midfielder could face former employers Chelsea in the Club World Cup on June 20.

Tell me Mor

Aston Villa star Morgan Rogers has emerged as a summer transfer target for Arsenal.

According to The Times, the Gunners would have to offer a “significant fee” to prize Rogers away from Villa Park.

The playmaker only joined Villa in 2023 for £15million from Middlesbrough and extended his contract until 2030 last November.

But missing out on the Champions League could see players move away this summer as the Villans are at serious risk from PSR rules, according to research undertaken by The Athletic.

The club have lost £206.2m in the past two seasons, the highest deficit in the Premier League in that time.

Research from the outlet suggests project Villa can only lose £15m in 2024-25 and remain in line with Prem rules.

As a result, they may be forced to listen to offers for a number of stars this summer.

Arsenal transfer news LIVE: Gabriel SIGNS new contract, Rodrygo ‘number one’ winger target, Sesko talks advancing

Gabriel on new contract

Arsenal defender Gabriel vowed that it’s time to win trophies after penning a new four-year contract.

The Brazilian said: “I arrived here as a young player and after almost five years I’m so happy and I’ve learned a lot.

“I’m so proud of myself, it’s an amazing journey, and I’m so happy to continue it. I hope I win some trophies with this club, because I love this club and my family loves the club, too.

“Arsenal is an amazing club and I’m so proud to sign a new contract. I love this club, I love the supporters, my team-mates, I love this stadium. I’m so proud and thank you for all the support. We continue together for the future.”

Arsenal chase Real star

Rodrygo has emerged as one of Arsenal’s top targets this summer.

The Gunners are aiming to bolster their attack, with the disgruntled Real Madrid ace fitting the bill.

Per Sky Sports, a deal could move forward following the international break.

Isak tipped for Arsenal

Jamie O’Hara has claimed that Arsenal should sign Newcastle star Aleksander Isak over Viktor Gyokeres or Benjamin Sesko.

He told Grosvenor Sport: “The obvious position to strengthen for Arsenal is a striker – they need to get one in.

“They need someone big and strong who can get them 20 goals a season. For me, Kai Havertz just isn’t the man for the job.

“Alexander Isak, Viktor Gyokeres or Benjamin Sesko are the obvious choices in the striker department for them. However, the trouble with strikers who come over from other leagues is that they fail to hit the ground running – particularly players from the Bundesliga and Liga Portugal. There’s a massive difference between playing there and in the Premier League.

“I think clubs should be buying Premier League proven players who have been doing it week in, week out already. That’s why I think Manchester United have been quite clever by signing Bryan Mbuemo and Matheus Cunha – we all know they’re going to work for them.

“With that in mind, if I were Arsenal, I’d go and get Isak. I know it will be hard because Newcastle are in the Champions League, but Arsenal are a bigger club than Newcastle and could definitely tempt him.”

Zubimendi’s move to Gunners in doubt?

It had been recently reported that Arsenal had met Martin Zubimendi’s release clause of £50.5m, and a deal seemed all but confirmed, subject to a medical.

The midfielder revealed in a recent interview with Radio Nacional de Espana, that his future is still undecided.

Zubimendi said: “Of course there are options, but it’s true that it seems like it’s going to be a different, long summer, and I don’t know how it will end.

“I don’t think thinking about it right now is my priority. I’m here with the national team, which I think is already quite demanding, and if I have to say something, then I will.”

Raya, 29, has been one of the Premier League’s top shot-stoppers since his move to North London, winning consecutive Golden Glove awards in between the sticks at the Emirates Stadium.

But the Spaniard revealed that it hasn’t always been easy, explaining that a poor game against Luton Town last season made him hit “rock bottom”.

Even though Arsenal won the game 4-3, thanks to a late Declan Rice header, Raya was left feeling that his performance was the worst of his career – shipping three goals against the newly promoted outfit.

He told Fozcast: “It was a turning point against Luton. That game was one of the worst games I ever played and that’s where I hit rock bottom.

“From there, the only way was up with changing my habits and trying to change my mindset.

“From that game, I said, ‘Listen, this is not me.’ I think there’s been a massive change from there.”

Gyökeres withdraws from Sweden squad

Viktor Gyökeres has withdrawn from the Sweden squad due to a ‘minor injury’

He will therefore miss the friendly matches against Hungary and Algeria.

The rumour mill continues to swirl around Gyökeres, with Arsenal and Atlético Madrid circling.

Arsenal make major mistake already

Mikel Arteta has been warned Arsenal have already made their first transfer mistake of the summer.

An ex-EFL striker has blasted the Gunners for missing out on Liam Delap, who is joining London rivals Chelsea for £30m.

Adebayo Akinfenwa told talkSPORT: “I don’t understand how Arsenal didn’t snap him up

“I don’t understand how, when you need a striker and you’re looking at the transfer market, £30m is chump change in today’s market.

“So when you’ve got somebody who, you’re talking about potential, they’re talking about being a Harry Kane replacement for England, about a proper No.9.

“As soon as Ipswich got relegated, they should have been in there. I think it’s a no-brainer.

“I think he’s going to do well. I really do. I remember speaking to him when he was on loan at Stoke from Man City, and even back then.

“His whole demeanour, his aura, he was self-assured, confident, good stature.”
