Ant McPartlin calls out I’m A Celeb’s Aitch and Ginge on air as stars fume

I’m A Celebrity 2025 hosts Ant McPartlin and Dec Donnelly gathered all the campmates for a live trial, but soon Aitch and Angry Ginge were left unimpressed by Ant

There was a live trial on I’m a Celebrity on Thursday night, and it was pure chaos.

All the celebrities learned they would take part in Cocktails of Cruelty, a head-to-head drinking trial as part of the Rivals challenge ongoing. Each celebrity was allowed to pick two jungle ingredients for their fellow rival celebrity opponent to drink.

Each star in each pair then needed to down their drinks, and the first star to down their drink the fastest would win the task. The fastest drinkers would also get immunity from the first vote off happening very soon.

As the live trial got underway, Aitch and Angry Ginge got up to have their drinking showdown. In something dubbed “controversial” and “shocking scenes” by Ant, the pair were disqualified.

Neither of them won immunity after both of them spilled too much liquid. Aitch was first to break the rules, giving Ginge the chance to win.

But when Ginge then repeated his pal’s mistake, in tense scenes that saw the guys close to bickering, crew members in the gallery had to decide how to handle the situation. It was decided, as advised by Ant, that both stars had spilled too much and neither of them won.

As a result, neither of them had immunity and were now both at risk in the first vote-off. Ant was quick to call out the pair though saying they deserved it, as Aitch and Ginge were clearly fuming.

Aitch called it “ridiculous” and had his head in his hands, with Ginge also not happy about it. Ant barked back though: “They both spilled loads so they both deserve to be on the bench.”

It comes as hosts Ant and Dec commented on campmates Shona McGarty and Aitch being “very cosy” amid romance rumours. On Wednesday night, scenes saw the pair messing around, and Dec was quick to comment.

After Kelly Brook suggested a pillow fight in camp, the pair were seen rolling around and falling to the floor. Shona was leaning on Aitch as the pair laughed, with fans suggesting they were “looking into each other’s eyes”.

Aitch commented on his time in camp being “lovely” with him “seeing the beauty of it”, with a smirk on his face – just as the camera panned to him staring at Shona. Fans were sure he was talking about his time with Shona.

Speaking live on air at the end of Wednesday’s episode, Dec said to Ant: “Getting very cosy aren’t they,” before smirking. Ant then said back: “Well some of them are…”

Viewers also had their say after the playful scenes. Some fans even suggested Aitch deliberatly lost to be in the loser camp with Shona, with many viewers “rooting” for their possible romance.

One fan said: “Aitch and Shona ready for that Christmas love.” Another agreed: “Are we witnessing the chemistry between Aitch and Shona? You can feel the love.”

A third fan said: “Aitch and Shona are so cute and I am SO HERE FOR IT,” as a fourth added: “I know Aitch lost on purpose to be with Shona I just can’t prove it.” A fifth said: “I’m so rooting for Aitch and Shona.”

Another fan commented: “Aitch and Shona staring into each others eyes.” It’s not just fans who seem to be rooting for the pair though, with friends and family also commenting.

Aitch’s close pal and manager said the pair could make a “nice couple”. Shona’s sister Camila had her say too, and said: “He is a nice guy… I would definitely have him around for Christmas.”

Shona broke up with her musician fiancé, David Bracken, earlier this year. Insiders say the split is amicable, and he recently wished her all the best for the jungle on social media.

Romance talk started after Aitch spoke about Shona to Ginge in the camp. He said: “I’ve got a bit of a soft spot for Shona, me.” Ginge replied: “I think she’s really nice, if that’s what you mean, yeah?” Keeping things low-key, Aitch commented: “Yeah, that’s what I mean…”

GK Barry slams £150k I’m A Celeb payday rumour and reveals brutal reality of jungle life

The social media star slams reports of her six-figure fee and reveals the wet, sleep-deprived reality of life in the jungle a year on from when she took part in I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!

For years, fans of ITV’s I’m A Celeb have speculated about the ‘astronomical’ fees commanded by the stars who brave the Australian bush. But according to former campmate GK Barry, also known as Grace Keeling, the reality of the pay packet is far less glamorous than the headlines suggest.

The social media sensation, who won over the nation during her stint in the jungle last year, has hit out at reports claiming she walked away with a massive fortune, branding the rumours “a load of s***.” Amidst the trials and tribulations of camp life, reports circulated that Grace had secured a fee of £150,000 for her appearance. However, the podcast host insists that figures reported in the press are vastly inflated.

“The Daily Mail like to release what we’re all being paid for it, it’s a load of s***,” she said in a TikTok video. To illustrate just how wide of the mark the rumours were, she joked that a fee of that magnitude would have fundamentally changed her behaviour in the trials.

“They said I got £150,000,” she said. “If I got paid 150 [thousand] Great British pounds to go in that jungle, I wouldn’t have even screamed once during a trial. They always overdo it, we don’t get paid that much.”

Beyond the pay dispute, Grace was keen to dispel the long-standing conspiracy theory that the camp is a sound stage or that celebrities retreat to luxury hotels once the cameras stop rolling. She described the living conditions as genuinely miserable, particularly when the weather turns.

“The camp is covered but it’s covered by a flimsy bit of material that opens up and shuts so when it rains, you still get rained on,” she revealed. “Our camp got so flooded last year, everything was wet, our sleeping bags, the fire kept going out…”

She added: “Everyone thinks the jungle isn’t a real jungle, but the place is giving jungle. There are animals, you could not find your way through there easily, and we do stay there, we do sleep there… We don’t go off to the hotel at night, I wish we did.”

While they don’t get hotels, the celebrities do get one small mercy: they aren’t allowed to poison themselves. Grace revealed a behind-the-scenes secret about how the campmates manage to cook obscure jungle rations like eel without making themselves ill.

It involves a producer known as the “Voice of God” who speaks over a tannoy system.

“You cook it until you think it’s done,” she explained. “And if you go to take it off and it’s not done, the voice of God will be like, ‘that could probably do with 10 more minutes’. So you’re never at risk of eating something raw.”

Perhaps the most gruelling aspect of the show isn’t the creepy crawlies, but the schedule. Grace painted a picture of a routine designed to keep the stars exhausted.

The day begins when the hosts arrive live on air. “We hear Ant and Dec do I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here so we know it’s 7.30 in the morning,” she said.

However, the days are long. Dinner often doesn’t arrive until 8pm or 9pm, followed by washing up and mandatory diary room sessions.

“Before you’re allowed to go to bed, you all have to do your bush telegraph things,” she recalled. “So I genuinely think we were going to bed at midnight and up again at 6.30am.”

GK Barry placed fifth in the 2024 series, being the eight contestant eliminated from the jungle.

I’m A Celebrity stars Aitch and Shona McGarty’s jungle romance backed by pals

Aitch’s budding jungle romance with EastEnders star Shona McGarty on I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out Of Here! has been backed by friends of the rapper while he is Down Under

Aitch and Shona McGarty could make a “nice couple”, the rapper’s close pal and manager has said. Via Culpan delivered her verdict on the rumoured potential romance between the rapper and EastEnders actress as she landed at Brisbane Airport today.

Asked if they would make a nice couple, Via said: “They’re both nice people. I’m not sure but yeah! I don’t know.” But she added: “I personally think it’s more of a brother-sister relationship.”

She praised Aitch’s efforts in the jungle, saying: “He’s smashed it, he’s done so well. He was scared about the eating trials but he’s smashed it.”

Her comments come after Shona’s sister Camilla flew in yesterday and also spoke about Aitch. She said: “He is a nice guy…I would definitely have him around for Christmas.”

Aitch confessed his feelings about Shona to Angry Ginge at the end of last week, admitting: “I’ve got a bit of a soft spot for Shona, me.”

It led to Ant and Dec saying they were desperate for a jungle romance this year on the show. But Camilla said that she needed to see more evidence that romance is actually blossoming.

She added: “I don’t know if I see it romantically…it might just be a brother and sister relationship but I don’t know…I don’t think we have seen enough to make a definite decision on it.”

Shona broke up with her musician fiancé, David Bracken, earlier this year. Insiders say the split is amicable, and he recently wished her all the best for the jungle on social media.

Aitch is also single after splitting with Lois Cottam before going into the Jungle. Dec previously said he was shell-shocked by Aitch’s comments when watching the scenes shortly before they aired, on Friday night.

He said: “This came completely out of the blue this morning.” Ant added: “It’s been a while since we’ve had a proper romance on this show. We’d love to see it….we would celebrate it.”

When Aitch told his close friend Ginge about his feelings, the Twitch streamer replied: “I think she’s really nice, if that’s what you mean, yeah?” Keeping things low-key, Aitch commented: “Yeah, that’s what I mean…”

As soon as scene aired, fans have taken to social media, with one saying: Aitch and Shona have chem… Just saying. #ImACeleb.” A second added: “Aitch and Shona would make a lovely couple! #ImaCeleb.” “#ImACeleb I definitely can see Aitch and Shona together,” penned a third.

“The Aitch and Shona friendship #imaceleb,” tweeted another. Before a sixth went on to pen: “Even aitch feeling the spark we all see with Shona #ImACeleb.”

Extraordinary way Shona McGarty smuggled air freshener into I’m A Celeb revealed

After Alex Scott smuggled salt and pepper into the camp, Shona McGarty is the second celeb to bring contraband into the I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here camp

I’m A Celeb hosts Ant and Dec have shed light on how Shona McGarty smuggled a huge can of air freshener into the camp. Fans were left mystified when producers spotted Alex Scott’s tiny stolen salt and pepper packets but failed to notice the EastEnders‘ star’s much bigger contraband until she revealed it herself.

During the episode that aired on 24 November, Alex was caught with her smuggled goods and campmates were all punished together, losing one star off their dinner. Bosses demanded that campmates produce all contraband, at which point, Shona revealed she had been hiding an enormous can of air freshener.

Viewers struggled to understand how she hid such a big item and how she got it into the camp in the first place. One said on social media: “I think we’re all baffled as to how Shona managed to smuggle a can of air freshener in.”

But Ant and Dec have now revealed how she did it. On Unpacked after the show, the pair addressed the situation and said they think they know how she did it.

When asked who they thought might face the next task, the hosts hypothesised that the campmates who brought in contraband might be punished. “Will it be Shona for smuggling in that air freshener?” asked Dec.

“Where did she hide that? Where does one hide an air freshener?” asked Ant, prompting his co-host to say he thought he knew what had happened. “I think I know where she got it. She nicked it from the trial.”

Kemi Rogers asked if she hid it under her top, and Ant said he didn’t know, but Dec was sure that she must have stolen it from a Bushtucker Trial rather than bringing it all the way from the UK.

A few days ago, Shona, alongside Alex, Jack Osbourne and Martin Kemp faced a Bushtucker Trial where they were locked in cages, sitting on makeshift toilets. The group had to try and retrieve stars from where they were bolted to bars in front of them, as bugs fell from above them.

Though the trial did not involve air freshener, and as such, none was visible to audiences, production may have had one on hand, which Shona may then have swiped.

Shona’s campmates didn’t seem to happy with her secret antics. Martin Kemp headed to the Bush Telegraph to call her out for smuggling the air freshener in, as did Jack who said: “There’s always one.” Kelly Brook added: “I thought we were a team.”

I’m A Celeb’s Ant and Dec hit back as viewers issue same complaint

Viewers of I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here! have been quick to issue the same complaint, but now presenters Ant and Dec have had their say on the divisive matter

Ant and Dec have addressed one of the major complaints from viewers of this year’s I’m A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here! The Geordie duo, both 49, have returned to screens once again, this time to put stars like Emmerdale legend Lisa Riley, rapper Aitch and actress Ruby Wax through their paces in jungle life.

The programme has become known for putting famous faces in gruelling circumstances normally a million miles away from their usual lifestyles, and as such, they have to compete in grisly Bushtucker Trials to earn meals for camp. Panto legend Christopher Biggins, who won the programme in 2007, spoke about the weight loss he achieved whilst in the jungle due to the food conditions, and Nick Knowles managed to shed more than two stone following his 2018 stint in the outback.

Sometimes, the celebrities have to live on rice and beans, especially when contestants struggle so much in the trials that they return to camp with little to no stars. In the past, contestants like former Coronation Street actress Helen Flanagan, model Katie Price, and presenter Gillian McKeith were regularly voted to participate in the trials and often returned to the camp empty-handed.

But so far this year, the celebrities have been scoring consistently high in the trials, and a group of them were recently rewarded with a luxury breakfast less than a week into the show’s run.

This has prompted fans to complain on social media and, during an appearance on Saturday night’s Unpacked, former Byker Grove stars Ant and Dec hit back as they wondered what the problem was.

Dec explained: “I saw a couple of people online during the show go urgh they’re had marshmallows, they’ve had hot chocolate, they’ve had breakfast and it’s only been a week. What are they moaning for?

“But when you think of that expansive time over a week, and most of it has been rice and beans, to go out for that breakfast must have been a taste sensation.”

Insisting that the stars are still surviving on less food than usual, Ant added: “Yeah, because most people eat what they’ve eaten in a week in a day. So they are hungry.

“This year, what they’ve been given [to cook] hasn’t been awful. Even octopus, if you cook it right, is nice. They just cooked it badly!” It all comes after fans took to social media in their droves to moan about the situation.

One wrote on X: “S*** trials, too much food,” whilst another said: “Drinking tea, which used to be a treat. Access to treats daily, pretty much, easy tasks to get 12 stars.”

A third added: “They won 10 stars and that’s the food they get?” But a fourth weighed in with: “The state of the food. i’d find a corner and cry!”

Earlier this week, the news was delivered that those who had received a badge from the then-camp leaders – Vogue and Tom Read Wilson – would be enjoying a cooked breakfast away from the camp, but EastEnders star Shona McGarty and Lioness Alex Scott were left out.

“We promised you would be rewarded for your badges – you will be heading out of camp for a delicious, slap-up breakfast,” the duo revealed, to cheers from the campmates. However, Alex and Shona were the only two not to receive a badge, which meant that they had to take part in the next Bushtucker trial with Vogue and Tom.

“However, Alex and Shona, unfortunately for you, you weren’t awarded with a badge, which means there’s no breakfast for you, and you have to take on today’s trial,” they added. Shona and Alex looked disheartened upon hearing the news, with Alex saying: “No way.”

Aitch I’m A Celeb trial first look as twist leaves even Ant and Dec shocked

Aitch is the next celeb to face a Bushtucker trial, called Jungle Doomsday, and a twist in the game leaves even seasoned hosts Ant and Dec shocked, as the rapper fumes ‘you dirty bean’

As rapper Aitch undertook the next Bushtucker Trial, a twist in the I’m A Celeb challenge left everyone shocked, including hosts Ant and Dec.

It was revealed in last night’s (17 November) show that the rapper would be taking on the next challenge. The new trial is called Jungle Doomsday, and the first look shows that Aitch has to hunt through a bunker for stars for the camp. In typical I’m A Celeb fashion, many of these stars a tucked away in jars filled with scorpions and other creatures.

But as Aitch hunted around for the stars, a voice came over the tannoy and said: “Warning cryo chamber malfunction. Awakening snake unit.”

This left Aitch fuming, as he yelled “Oh, you dirty bean!” But it also shocked Ant McPartlin and Dec Donnelly, despite their many years on the show.

The pair had been watching Aitch try to complete the task via a monitor, but when they heard about the snakes, they looked up in horror. “What?” they both yelled, unable to contain their disbelief.

Nevertheless, Aitch got stuck into the task and quickly located the star in a scorpion jar. Before long, he was trying to find the one inside the snake unit and approached the creatures with his now familiar humour.

“Hello, boys, how are we?” he asked as he moved towards the snakes. He soon found the star but discovered it was attached to a string and he would have to untie it. Trying to calm his nerves, the rapper by paying homage to the hosting duo.

He started to sing Let’s Get Ready to Rhumble, a song put out by PJ & Duncan AKA, the performing name used by Ant & Dec when they used to make music. It was released in 1994, which is five years before Aitch, real name Harrison James Armstrong, was born.

Aitch has become a firm fan favourite for his light-hearted attitude on the show, alongside content creator Angry Ginge. “Angry Ginge and Aitch are killing me. Too funny those two,” one fan wrote on social media. Another added that the pair should win the show. “Aitch & Ginge = best duo! For the win!”

The rapper is thought to be the highest paid celeb on this year’s show, with a rumoured paycheck of £250k. The 25-year-old is thought to have been brought on the show to being in younger viewers and his 2.2 million followers on Instagram will surely help with that.

I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out Of Here! airs every night at 9pm on ITV1, STV, ITVX and STV Player.

I’m A Celebrity…Unpacked airs live on ITV2 every night directly after the ITV1 show. You can also stream it anytime on ITVX.

Furious I’m A Celeb fans complain they couldn’t vote after being locked out of ITV app

Comedian Ruby Wax and social media star Morgan Burtwistle, known as Angryginge, will be the first celebrities to face an eating challenge on this year’s I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!

I’m A Celebrity fans have been left furious after they encountered issues with voting on the app during last night’s show.

The ITV1 show, filmed in Australia, began with five of the celebrities flying over a beach in a helicopter, which they were told they would be jumping out of. Spandau Ballet’s Martin Kemp, model Kelly Brook, rapper Aitch, comedian Eddie Kadi and former EastEnders star Shona McGarty were all seen skydiving in the programme.

The five celebrities were then made to enter a wooden structure and wade through offal and slime to find a key fob that would gain them access to a getaway car taking them to camp. Aitch, real name Harrison Armstrong, and Kadi won the challenge and got in the car where they were met with cocktails.

The three other celebrities entered the Cockie van which had a giant beetle structure on top of it.

The five other campmates – Wax, Burtwistle, soap star Lisa Riley, TV presenter Jack Osbourne and sports broadcaster Alex Scott – missed out on skydiving and arrived at a luxury villa before battling it out for a seat in the getaway car.

The celebrities had their heads placed inside boxes filled with snakes and were asked to put their hand in a box of green ants to unscrew bolts and release the fob for the car. Osbourne and Burtwistle won the challenge, while Brook, Kemp, McGarty, Riley, Wax and Scott were left riding in the Cockie van, alongside Kiosk Kev.

After arriving at camp, Jack cooked a steak dinner with mushrooms and avocado for Eddie, Aitch and Angryginge while the others were given emu neck to eat.

Fans were then able to vote for the first Bushtucker trial of the series but some viewers have branded the show a fix and claimed the app wasn’t working.

Taking to X one person moaned: “ I’m a celebrity is a fix. Can’t vote cos the app doesn’t work.” A second said: “Would be nice if they sorted this app out, it didn’t work for a lot of people and we weren’t able to vote.” While a third asked: “Is anyone having issues with the voting app? Why isn’t it letting me vote??”

Comedian Ruby Wax and social media star Morgan Burtwistle, known as Angryginge, will be the first celebrities to face an eating challenge on this year’s I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!

Anthony McPartlin and Declan Donnelly told campmates the bushtucker trial will take place at “revolting restaurant” The Divey, during Sunday’s debut episode.

I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! airs daily at 9pm on ITV1.

I’m A Celeb’s Ant and Dec mercilessly mock Aitch as rapper joins jungle

Manchester rapper Aitch, 25, is among the famous faces on I’m A Celebrity this week and while introducing him, presenters Ant and Dec mocked him for his stage name

Ant and Dec mercilessly mocked Aitch as the rapper joined I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out Of Here! in the Australian jungle. The 25-year-old, whose real name is Harrison James Armstrong, rose to fame in 2018 with the track Straight Rhyme. The rapper’s debut studio album, Close to Home, reached number two on the UK Albums Chart.

Introducing Aitch on the show, Dec said: “We’ve got one of the biggest names in British music – H.” Ant then joked: “H from Steps, that’s a good booking.” But Dec replied: “No, it’s the rapper.” Co-host Ant then said it was a “tragedy” that Ian Watkins – best known by his stage name of H from Steps – wasn’t on I’m A Celeb.

READ MORE: How Aitch became ‘most hated man in Manchester for 40 minutes’

“H from Steps is rapping now. What a tragedy,” Ant said, before Dec continued: “On a diet of rice and beans Aitch is probably worried he’s not going to rap for three whole weeks.” Ant concluded: “That’s rap, with a capital C.”

Among this year’s contestants alongside Aitch are reality TV star Jack Osbourne, comedian Ruby Wax, Spandau Ballet’s Martin Kemp, model Kelly Brook and Emmerdale star Lisa Riley. Completing the line-up are comedian Eddie Kadi, EastEnders actress Shona McGarty, sports broadcaster Alex Scott and social media star Morgan Burtwistle, who is known as Angryginge.

Aitch joined Eddie, Shona, Kelly and Martin skydiving from a helicopter on to a beach. The five celebrities then had to wade through offal and slime to find a key fob to get access to a getaway car taking them to camp.

As the rapper joined the celebrities on the show, fans have been left wondering if he will cause as much controversy Down Under as he has throughout his career. One of Aitch’s most infamous moments came in 2022, when an advertisement for his debut album Close to Home mistakenly covered a mural of Joy Division icon Ian Curtis in Manchester’s Northern Quarter.

The artwork, which was painted by street artist Akse P19, had become a local landmark, and its disappearance sparked outrage among Mancunians. Aitch was blindsided by the backlash, and told BBC Breakfast: “I felt like the most hated person in Manchester for about 40 minutes.”

He recalled discovering the mistake on social media, saying: “I seen it on Twitter, that was the first time I seen it…There was an outrage burst of like, ‘What’s Aitch doing putting his album over Ian’s mural’, and then I was like, ‘Oh god, what’s this?'”

The rapper moved quickly, contacting Amazon and Akse P19 to stop the billboard from being erected and arrange for the mural to be restored. “We just put a stop to mine straight away,” he added.
