- New Game of Thrones spin-off A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms has finally arrived on Sky. The series, which is set roughly 90 years prior to the events of the hit HBO historical drama, is based on George R.R. Martin’s Tales of Dunk and Egg novellas. The first episode aired on Sky and NOW at 3am today in the UK, in line with its Sunday evening release on HBO in the US.
- For those wanting to tune in at a more sociable time, the first episode of A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms, titled ‘The Hedge Knight’ will also repeat tonight at 9pm on Sky Atlantic. Episode 2, titled ‘Hard Salt Beef’, will arrive next week on Monday January 26 at 3am and again on Sky Atlantic at 9pm.
- As for the episode count, A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms comprises six episodes in total. These new installments will drop weekly at the same time, with the finale airing on February 23 at 3am and once more on Sky Atlantic at 9pm.
- House of the Dragon fans might be interested to know A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms takes place 70 years after the events of the prequel series, in a time of relative peace for Westeros. It centres on humble hedge knight Ser Duncan the Tall (Peter Claffey), who embarks on a quest to take part in a tournament that could change his life forever. He is joined by a youthful squire called Egg (Dexter Sol Ansell), who has a mysterious past.
- The IMDb synopsis reads : “A century before GOT, Ser Duncan the Tall, and his squire, Egg, wandered through Westeros while the Targaryen dynasty ruled the Iron Throne, and dragons were still remembered. Great destinies and enemies await the incomparable friends.”
