Where Changing Rooms’ Handy Andy is now from marriage to unrecognisable new look

Handy Andy – real name Andy Kane – was a hugely popular member of the Changing Rooms team with viewers. But what has he been up to since he left the show in 2004?

Popular 90s DIY show Changing Rooms was a firm favourite on our screens, but the cast look very different to nowadays.

Viewers of the BBC show tuned in weekly to see the team take on some major home transformations, making the stars of the show household names in the process.

Hosted by Carol Smillie, Changing Rooms drew in a whopping 10 million viewers at its peak on BBC One and created some iconic moments – who can forget when a £6,000 teapot collection was destroyed in one fell swoop by a floating shelf in series 8?

Designers Laurence Llewelyn-Bowen, Linda Barker, and Anna Ryder Richardson were the ones tasked with helping members of the public transform a room in someone else’s house – be it a friend, family member or neighbour. And then to help them make it a reality, the show’s handyman, Handy Andy (Andy Kane) swooped in.

DIY expert Andy appeared on the show from 1996-2004 and was a key player in the transformation process. But what has he been up to in the years since?

After the show ended, Andy landed a role on the American version of the programme, named Trading Spaces, and he also presented three shows for UK Style, Room Rival , Garden Rivals and Streetcombers.

One of his biggest programmes was Increase Your House Price By Ten Grand, which saw Andy work with a team to increase a house’s value by £10,000 in just three days with a £1,000 budget.

Andy has also appeared on I’m Famous And Frightened, Cirque de Celebrite and The Adam And Joe Show, and he has hosted a number of BBC Primary Geography programmes since 2008. He is happily married to his wife Geraldine and together they have four children.

Andy was a popular member of the team and the chatty Cockney proved to be a big hit with viewers too. While he frequently impressed with his DIY, it didn’t always go to plan, and he later spoke about his most major mishap – when the teapot collection was destroyed.

Designer Linda had commissioned a floating shelf to house them but weighed it down with heavy books, causing the shelf to collapse overnight.

Andy told the Metro: “It went wrong because they put too much weight on it. The shelf was obviously just for show and just the teapots on it would have been fine, but then they started loading up with books at the bottom.

“I did say at the time that books are very heavy but they carried on and you know, it’s one of them things. When it happened, it was really, really awful, everyone felt really bad, but now you just laugh about it. But it was good entertainment, wasn’t it?

“In other episodes of the show they’d mount chairs on the wall or hang chairs from ceilings and as a builder, you’re like ‘really?!’, but that’s interior design for you.”

Second MasterChef contestant edited out of series after Torode and Wallace axed

A second MasterChef contestant has been edited out of the current BBC One series following the scandals that saw longterm hosts John Torode and Gregg Wallace sacked

A second MasterChef contestant has been edited out of the current BBC One series, which has faced controversy and seen both presenters dropped from their roles.

It was previously announced that Sarah Shafi had been removed from the show after asking for it not to be broadcast, following a report that upheld claims against hosts Gregg Wallace and John Torode.

A spokesperson for the show’s production company, Banijay UK, said: “One other contributor decided that, given recent events, they would like not to be included. We have, of course, accepted their wishes and edited them out of the show.” It comes after John Torode’s wife Lisa Faulkner breaks her silence after his MasterChef sacking.

The Mirror has contacted the BBC for comment. Both Wallace and Torode remain in the series, which began last week on BBC One and on iPlayer.

In November 2024, it was announced that Wallace would step away from his role on the BBC cooking show while historical allegations of misconduct were investigated, and last month a statement from Banijay UK and the BBC said they had agreed “Mr Wallace’s return to MasterChef is untenable”.

Wallace, 60, issued an apology saying he was “deeply sorry for any distress caused” and that he “never set out to harm or humiliate” in the wake of the Lewis Silkin review, which saw 45 out of 83 allegations made against him upheld.

Torode, 60, was the subject of an allegation about using racist language that was upheld as part of the review, but the TV star said he had “no recollection of the incident” and was “shocked and saddened” by the claim.

The PA news agency understands the second contestant to be edited out of the show has asked not to be identified and will not feature in the show.

The episode which would have featured the individual was broadcast on BBC One on Wednesday night, but the programme featured only five chefs rather than the usual six.

Last month, the BBC confirmed the series, which was filmed last year before allegations against Wallace and Torode were upheld, would be broadcast in August, adding that it had “not been an easy decision in the circumstances.”

It added: “In showing the series, which was filmed last year, it in no way diminishes our view of the seriousness of the upheld findings against both presenters. We have been very clear on the standards of behaviour that we expect of those who work at the BBC or on shows made for the BBC.

“However, we believe that broadcasting this series is the right thing to do for these cooks who have given so much to the process. We want them to be properly recognised and give the audience the choice to watch the series.

“At this stage, we have not taken a decision on the celebrity series and Christmas special, which was filmed earlier this year, and we will confirm our plans later in the year.”

In an interview with The Sun last month, Wallace apologised to anyone hurt by his behaviour but insisted he is “not a groper, a sex pest or a flasher”.

Torode and Wallace became MasterChef co-hosts in 2005 and celebrated the shows 20th anniversary at a dinner in 2024, which Wallace said was “one of the most emotional evenings” of his life.

MasterChef series 21 next airs at 8pm on BBC One.

Naga Munchetty left red-faced as BBC Breakfast co-star addresses on air blunder

Naga Munchetty was left red-faced on BBC Breakfast when she was forced to admit an amusing mishap live on air.

TV star Naga Munchetty found herself in an awkward spot on Saturday’s programme (9 August), admitting to viewers she was thinking “I’ll have to get out this one” after wrongly anticipating her colleague’s next move whilst presenting.

The BBC Breakfast host experienced an embarrassing moment alongside co-presenter Charlie Stayt as they prepared to hand proceedings over to weather forecaster Simon King for the weekly outlook. Earlier in the programme, Simon had been delivering promising news of continuing sunshine and an approaching heatwave set to sweep across the UK – welcome tidings for viewers nationwide.

However, unbeknownst to Naga, Simon had switched up his usual approach and opted to begin his weather segment with overcast skies and rainfall predictions. As the BBC Radio 5 Live presenter turned to face him mid-sentence, she suddenly realised the forecast didn’t match what she’d been discussing on air, reports the Express.

The presenting duo had been chatting about British seaside resorts and their iconic pleasure piers when Naga expected the sunny predictions to complement their conversation perfectly.

She began: “I think Simon will tell us…” before catching her error and adding: “It doesn’t quite look like it there.” In an attempt to ease the uncomfortable silence, Simon quipped: “I always try to link what you are going to say with the weather,” before admitting: “It hasn’t worked.”

Naga Munchetty candidly acknowledged a blunder, saying: “I turned around thinking, ‘yes, there’ll be a visual of sunshine or something’ and then ‘Ahh I’ll have to get out of this one’.”

Her co-host Simon chimed in with an explanation: “I’d been starting with the sunshine all morning but thought I’d focus now on the rain because we’ve had quite a bit across Scotland and Northern Ireland,” leading Naga to respond with sarcasm: “Thank you.”

The week wasn’t without its hitches for Naga and Charlie, as a BBC spokesperson had to issue apologies following a noticeable disruption during Thursday’s (August 7) programme.

In the midst of presenting the day’s news, Naga and Charlie were caught off guard by a technical glitch that resulted in some viewers seeing an unexpected switch to alternative programming.

Viewers took to social media to report the odd occurrence, describing how their screens briefly showed a preacher before returning to the regular broadcast.

The technical issue appeared to be localised, affecting only certain regions. Disgruntled viewers who encountered the interruption expressed their frustration online.

One perplexed viewer questioned on X: “Anyone else got tbnuk just taken over #bbcbreakfast?” A fellow viewer confirmed the anomaly: “Yes – and then a switch back after 5 mins without any explanation!”

Further comments echoed the confusion, with remarks such as: “Yes, I was so confused,” and queries about the source of the problem: “Its just happened again & also on iPlayer, but still #BBCBreakfast on BBCNews! I have Virgin – it may be coming through their feed?”

Another viewer shared their experience: “I had a frozen screen but it was flashing green and orange, no sound, thought my TV had broken.”

In response to the technical glitch, a representative from the BBC stated: “Due to a technical issue, viewers in the Midlands experienced a short interruption to BBC Breakfast this morning. We apologise for this.”

BBC Breakfast airs on weekdays starting at 6am on BBC One and iPlayer.

Destination X viewers ‘getting annoyed’ with show as they all issue same complaint

Destination X was back on screens during its usual slot of 9pm on Wednesday night but several viewers all issued the same complaint as the BBC travel competition continued

Destination X was back on screens during its usual slot of 9pm on Wednesday night. The BBC One series follows a group of strangers hoping to to win £100,000 by correctly guessing where in the world they have been taken to, but viewers began to get ‘very frustrated’ as things unfolded.

The series, which is hosted by Rob Brydon, sees the hopefuls dealt with various clues as to where they might be, ranging from languages written down and other key hints. But as the competition heated up, viewers found themselves ‘getting annoyed’ by the sheer lack of knowledge that the contestants seemed to possess. One viewer took to X to say: “Getting annoyed with #DestinationX – the lack of knowledge is appalling!”

Another said: “I assume it’s deliberate in this show that they picked contestants who know absolutely nothing about European languages or Geography, but it’s still very frustrating to watch.” And a third joked: “We have some exceptionally clever people in this country. We win bucketloads of Nobel prizes, we invented nearly everything worthwhile, we have an elite of world class minds but most of our citizens are thick as pig s***.” It comes after Gary Lineker ‘signs a huge deal with ITV to host new show’ after BBC exit.

As part of the mission that was played out in episode three, contestants had to sort items often associated with various countries into the correct box. Host Rob Brydon looked on in a tense race to the finish but in the end, Ashvin was saved and e-commerce manager James had to go.

Upon Ashvin’s victory, he said: “My goal was to get on that bus, and it’s gone. The goal was the Destination X bus,” as James became candid about the challenge that saw him ousted from the programme. He said: “I’m quite said to be going really, I feel a bit blindsided by Josh, Josh chose Daren because he viewed the rest of us as a threat , then I can’t say I wouldn’t have done the same.”

Marketing executive Saskia was incredibly moved by James’ sudden departure. Through tears, she said in a confessional: “This game is really hard. I know this is a game because it’s really hard when you’ve made emotional connections with people here, it’s really difficult. “I’m a little bit angry at Daren, I love having Daren here but I feel like it kind of could have been James.” As the journey drew to a close, the remaining contestants had just minutes to figure out where in the world they were.

They all gathered in the map room, and the one who placed their X on the map furthest away from their actual location was warned they would be immediately out of the competition. There was mass confusion, to begin with, although most of them seemed to assume they were in Munich.

It was Ben who faced elimination after guessing that they were in Dortmund, and spoke of how he had taken the advice of Saskia, who in turn, voted for Munich after spotting a football ground. Prior to that, he had spotted a football team playing in black and yellow, which he believed could be Borussia Dortmund.

Saskia said: “That was bad. But I need to start playing this game properly if I want to make it to the final.” She added: “I don’t even know what to say about it,” as she hugged her former co-star and began to cry.

After stepping off the bus for the final time, indeed in Munich, Ben laughed and said: “Well, I’m not where I am that’s for sure! Wow! I’m in Munich. My gut was Munich. I saw Oktoberfest, but the clues got me. I got played a little bit. I put my trust in people.”

Masterchef fans ‘switch off’ as they make same complaint about Wallace and Torode

MasterChef viewers had to switch off just minutes into the new series premiering on TV when they realised John Torode and Gregg Wallace were still presenting the show

MasterChef

MasterChef viewers had to switch off just minutes into the new series premiering on TV. The BBC culinary staple came under fire recently as presenters John Torode and Gregg Wallace were both sacked over different matters, and fans were quick to slam television bosses for not editing them out of the broadcast.

Torode’s contract was not renewed by production company Banijay UK, after he was alleged to have used racist language, whilst his co-star Gregg was fired from the programme after 41 of the 83 complaints against him were upheld by an investigation into his conduct. And despite the scandal, viewers tuned in to the launch of the 21st series but were quick to make their disdain known when the two TV stars appeared on screen as normal.

One viewer wrote on X: “I shall tune in to this for 10 or 15 minutes just to see how it has been re-cut to remove its presenters,” before adding just minutes later: “Well I’ve switched it off. The @BBC has made no attempt to remove them from the show.” A second viewer admitted they had done the same, and suggested that the broadcaster should have replaced them with a voiceover instead. It comes after reports Gregg Wallace is trying to ‘earn a living’ after MasterChef exit amid ‘battle every day’.

One viewer suggested the pair should have been replaced by a voiceover(Image: BBC)

They wrote: “We have also switched off Master chef. I can’t bear to watch. Of course they could have edited the presenters out and had some sort of voice over.” A third viewer said: “I’m shocked and stunned that the BBC are putting on master chef after Greg Wallace was sacked are they so hard up for new programmes.”

Despite the scandal, some fans believed that the series would be a ratings winner for the broadcaster, with one viewer saying: “This is gonna end up being one of the most watched series of masterchef ever, isn’t it?” and a second agreed, as they said: “I’ll bet #MasterChef gets it’s highest ever viewing…” and a third also predicted: “Viewing figures are gonna be sky high.”

There was no acknowledgment of the scandal at the beginning of the episode, and things seemed to continue as normal as viewers were introduced to this year’s lineups. The amateur chefs taking to the kitchen this year include marketing manager Shaun, former actress Penelope, kickboxing instructor Gom, marketing co-ordinator Thea, business development manager Gemma, and vocal coach Beth. In the end, it was Penelope, Thea and Gemma who were voted on into the quarter finals, leaving six more hopefuls to try their luck in the kitchen next week.

Upon her elimination, Penelope said: “I’m sad, but I’ve just had a great time. It’s been adventure. I’m going to take on the feedback I have received but I’m not going to change my ways of experimenting because that to me is the joy of cooking.”

Wallace was axed from the series after law firm Lewis Silkin upheld 45 out of 85 complaints against him of inappropriate behaviour. While the 60-year-old has admitted to using inappropriate language at times, he denies the more serious allegations. Meanwhile, co-host Torode did not have his contract renewed with Banijay UK, who make MasterChef, after he was alleged to have used racist language amid an investigation into his former co-star’s behaviour.

He claimed he had no memory of making the comment and denies it ever happened. One user said on X/ Twitter : “The decision to screen MasterChef tonight is unforgivable. There was no need to show this next series on BBC when they could’ve just streamed it on iPlayer and people who wanted to watch it would still have been able to. We will switch BBC off.”

Another fan was convinced: ” #MasterChef will contain some type of message this evening or it would have been pulled.”

The latest series of MasterChef landed on BBC iPlayer this morning before airing on BBC One at 8pm. There had been concern over the future of the already filmed series following both Wallace and Torode’s axe.

However, they both appear in the introduction shots of the first episode. Torode said: “This is the sort of stuff that dreams are made of”, while Wallace told a contestant: “That is a cracker of a job”.

BBC Breakfast’s Nina Warhurst returns to show after family death as fans rush to support

BBC Breakfast star Nina Warhurst has made her return to the show after a heartbreaking family death

BBC Breakfast presenter Nina Warhurst has returned to the programme after her father’s passing.

The popular morning show was back on air on Sunday (August 3) with Ben Thompson and Nina presenting together once again.

It’s been a tough period for Nina, who recently revealed that her father had passed away peacefully in a care home on July 2 after a prolonged struggle with dementia.

Sharing a touching black-and-white image of her hand clasped with her father’s, she penned: “My Dad died on Wednesday night. From Sunday me, my Mum and sisters spent precious time with him around the clock….singing, crying, laughing, sharing memories. On his last day we had nursing home afternoon tea, chippy chips and wine together.

“He drifted away gently with me and Amy (Nina’s sister) holding him and telling him to ‘go head. We’ll see you there soon.’ And he did. I had my hand on his heart as the ripples softened and stopped.”, reports the Express.

“A gentle end to a gentle life. So much love and laughter and sunshine across days I’ll never forget. He is in my mind all the time now as we adjust to a world without him in it.

Nina

“I can’t quite accept that’s real yet. But we think it’s really important for anyone going through this to know that the end can be peaceful and beautiful.”

Supporters immediately flooded Nina with messages of comfort at the time. One viewer commented: “Oh my darling, this is such sad news. He seemed like a beautiful soul.” Another said: “So sorry, dear Nina and family. You did him proud. Always.”

However, a few weeks later and on Sunday, Nina was back on the famous red sofa on BBC Breakfast – and fans were more than chuffed to see her back. On X, one person penned: “Lovely to see Nina this morning.”

Nina
Her late dad struggled with dementia

Nina’s father Chris, had been diagnosed with mixed dementia, which is Alzheimer’s and vascular dementia, in 2022.In April this year, she spoke candidly about how his condition had affected her life.

The mum-of-three penned in an Instagram post: “I don’t think I really became a proper grownup until we had to look after my Dad. Because of dementia I lost the home I could go to and still be a child. I lost one of those few pillars of people who I knew would love me, whatever. I thought that support was lost.

But now I know that just being with him is enough. I don’t know if it’s primal, hormonal, chemical, emotional….. but leaning my head on his chest and closing my eyes for a few minutes gives me the sense of safety and love that I’ve always had and that I still need.”

BBC Breakfast airs everyday from 6am on BBC One.

Antiques Roadshow expert taken aback by how guest uses collectible jug she paid £2.50 for

An Antiques Roadshow specialist was taken aback after a guest unveiled what she had been using her rather valuale jug for.

WARNING: This article contains spoilers from Antiques Roadshow.

An Antiques Roadshow expert left a guest almost speechless after discovering she’d been using a highly collectible jug as a simple watering can for her plants.

The beloved BBC programme visited Hopetoun House in Queensferry, near Edinburgh, where Roadshow expert Steven Moore encountered a visitor clutching a green jug that sparked memories of a beloved 1960s children’s series.

“Were you by any chance a fan of The Clangers?”, he enquired.

She replied: “No I wasn’t a fan”, prompting him to ask: “So was this the reason you bought this very ugly jug?”

“No, I bought it because I needed something to water my plants.”

The guest revealed she’d snapped up the piece for a mere £2.50, adding that it “certainly lives up to its purpose”.

“Right so this was last used for watering plants when?” he probed as she admitted it was just a “couple of days ago”.

Moore then warned the guest: “Well, we might want to stop you doing that.

“It’s made by one of the Ewenny Pottery’s in Wales, very conveniently dated to 1902 and even more conveniently, we have a Welsh member on our team and she tells me that this literally means ‘The Wild Pig’.”

He tried to pronounce the inscription ‘Y Mochyn Gwyllt’ but quickly chuckled: “I apologise if I’ve said that wrong!”

Moore went on: “But I think it is a wild pig, not a Clanger, although there’s some suggestion it could be a hedgehog but I’m not even going to go down that route.

“But Ewenny Pottery is very collectible so your £2.50 flower jug to a Welsh pottery collector, in the right sale, would be estimated at £800 to £1,200.”

Upon hearing the staggering valuation, the guest took a sharp intake of breath before simply responding: “OK.”

The specialist added: “So if I give it back to you, will you promise not to water any plants with it? And go buy a nice £2.50 plastic jug.”

Grinning, she replied: “I promise. I will do that.”

‘I was on BBC’s new gameshow Destination X and this is what really happens’

The first player to be eliminated from the BBC adventure gameshow, Destination X, has now revealed what it was really like being on the programme.

A contestant on Destination X has spilled the beans on what the BBC One gameshow is really like behind the scenes.

Deborah became the first player booted out of the competition in last night’s premiere, missing out on her shot at bagging £100,000.

The crime writer, 62, was amongst 13 strangers taking part in Rob Brydon’s adventure series, which sees the players set off on the journey of a lifetime across Europe.

With the continent turned into a massive board game, the participants must try to work out where they are in the world after being deprived of their senses on a coach and given a mix of clues and red herrings, reports Wales Online.

Combining elements of The Traitors and Race Across The World, the contestants must navigate through the lies and deception they face, with each episode seeing whoever guesses furthest from the actual location getting sent packing.

Last night, Deborah became the first Destination X star to get the chop, after three had already been abandoned at the airport and one had thrown in the towel.

She’s now spilled the beans in an exclusive interview about what the experience was truly like, and what viewers didn’t witness.

“I had the best time,” she reflected. “There’s such a great bunch of guys on the bus, and a massive team that looks after you.

“It is all a bit surreal, but I would do it again in a heartbeat.”

Discussing her tight-knit relationship with her fellow contestants, she continued: “The BBC has only got an hour, but we were on that bus for hours and hours, they showed clips of me looking discombobulated all the time.

“But in between those points, there were times I had to get off the bus and walk away because I was laughing so much.”

Following host Rob’s revelation of one backstage secret – that a convoy of portable toilets trailed behind the bus – Deborah then laid bare the harsh realities of coach life for days on end.

“You saw the loo on the bus, it’s not even Harry Potter’s cupboard under the stairs. And you’re so close to people all the time.”

She chuckled: “You come out of there and people ask, ‘how did you get on?'”

In addition to sensory deprivation onboard the bus, in the first episode, the contestants were asked to wear goggles while flying in an aeroplane, where Deborah revealed she even had a little nap.

But being unable to see their surroundings while travelling did risk taking its toll when it came to travel sickness.

Deborah explained: “The medic came along and said, ‘Does anybody get sea sickness, I’ve got some tablets,’ so at that stage in the proceedings we said, ‘Yeah, I’ll have it,’ but we didn’t know [about the helicopter], we thought it was just because the bus was going to go around some wiggly, windy things.

“So I had a tablet, yeah, and we were on the helicopter for a long time, and you can’t see anything, so I’m not going to lie, I had a bit of a sleep.”

Despite feeling “gutted” about being the first to be eliminated from the competition, Deborah described it as a “once in a lifetime” opportunity.

She revealed that she chose to participate in Destination X after realising “there’s more sand at the bottom of the egg timer than there is at the top”.

“You need to start having some adventures and living your life, because to not do that is disrespectful to those people who didn’t get to have a bit more life,” she expressed, sharing tales of her other escapades, including near-death experiences while skiing and scuba diving.

Now, she’s gearing up for an entirely different challenge, preparing for an Arctic expedition next year in collaboration with the Sue Ryder charity.

Deborah
Deborah is gearing up for her latest adventure

“I’m checking on my fitness because I’ve had both hips replaced and a stomach implant thing… but the guy in the Arctic thinks I’ll be alright to do it,” she shared.

“I did Tough Mudder over the weekend, last Saturday, and that was the hardest thing I’d done in my life, but I think the Arctic will be harder.”

Reflecting her adventurous spirit, when asked about her plans for the prize money, she added: “We’d all like a bit more, but I did it for the adventure, money can’t buy that adventure and those experiences.”

Destination X continues tonight at 9pm on BBC One and is available to watch on BBC iPlayer.

Eve is still unconvinced by the plan next week and is desperate to hear from Avani what she wants, without Suki’s involvement. Eve supports the teenager at her 12-week scan, and after she and Avani lie to the family when Priya finds a receipt from the hospital in Avani’s jacket – but will the pregnancy be rumbled?

The baby’s father Joel Marshall, who has no idea about the baby, is back to his vile ways next week. Ross Marshall takes son Joel and his pal Tommy Moon to work at the timber yard but soon grows concerned for the boys when he overhears some of the language from other workers on the site.

That’s the least of his issues though, as Ross pales to receive a call from Joel’s mum. She informs him that she is getting remarried, and Ross faces having to tell Joel.

As Joel slips out to process the news, he’s soon stealing drink from the pub with Tommy only to be caught. As Joel’s stepmother Vicki Fowler and Tommy’s parents Kat and Alfie rage at the boys for their behaviour, everyone is shocked by what Joel does next.

Joel lashes out with derogatory language towards Kat leaving them all horrified, and soon he’s being lectured by Ross and Vicki. A moment later on that sees Ross trying to bond with his troubled son leaves him sickened though, as he makes a worrying discovery on Joel’s laptop and destroys the device.

He’s cold towards his son in the fallout, and Vicki is later shocked to discover the real reason why Ross broke his laptop. She tells Ross to take action against Joel before his behaviour gets out of hand.

It leads to Ross sharing a heart-to-heart with Harvey in the café and the former is given food for thought. When Joel apologises to Kat, she allows him to hang out with Tommy. But it’s not long before Joel is showing his true colours again when Vicki and Stacey Slater bond over parenting and men.

Finally next week, Elaine Peacock is struggling without the pub and after a heart-to-heart with Yolande, she and love rival Cindy Beale join forces at The Albert. Cindy later offers Elaine the job of co-manager, so could there be a thawing between them?

Callum Highway’s flirting with Johnny Carter leads to him being warned by Jay brown, amid a call from his imprisoned husband Ben Mitchell. With Ben set to return to the show, will it all end in tears?

BBC Death in Paradise detective reunites with Ralf Little as they return to beloved role

Death in Paradise will return tonight with a repeat episode of the BBC drama

Death in Paradise favourite Josephine Jobert will grace television screens once more this evening in a repeat broadcast of the beloved BBC series.

Josephine portrayed Detective Florence Cassell in the Caribbean-set police drama.

Lucky in Love, the third episode of series 10, initially transmitted in 2021, will be screened at 9pm tonight on BBC One.

The episode summary states: “It seems money doesn’t buy happiness when lottery winner Cherry is found dead at her luxurious villa, much to the horror of her husband and their visiting friends,” reports the Express.

“As usual, Neville and the team are presented with a real head-scratcher when it turns out no one was in the house at the time – and the mystery deepens when the victim’s body apparently vanishes into thin air.”

It concludes: “Meanwhile, JP is training unruly new officer Marlon, aware that his wife Rosey is due to give birth at any time.”

This marks another recent repeat showing, following last week’s broadcast of episode two from series 10 on BBC One.

Florence Cassell won’t be the only familiar face returning to screens, as the programme’s longest-serving detective, Neville Parker (Ralf Little), also features in the episode.

Tobi Bakari returns as police officer JP Hooper, whilst Tahj Miles reprises trainee police officer Marlon Pryce.

Following the episode’s original transmission, Tobi, Tahj, Ralf, and Josephine have all departed the programme to pursue different ventures.

Tobi became the first to exit in 2021 following the conclusion of series 10. Ralf and Josephine’s departures came in series 13 after their characters sailed off into the sunset together following Neville’s declaration of love to Florence.

Tahj Miles also departed the programme at the conclusion of series 13.

Ralf’s role was swiftly filled by the island’s fresh lead detective, Mervin Wilson, portrayed by Don Gilet.

In an earlier chat with Hello! Josephine discussed her comeback to the programme in series 10 and confessed she was aware it wouldn’t be permanent.

“I already left in series eight, I thought it would be for good, honestly, I thought, ‘I’m done,'” she revealed. “Then they asked me back for series ten as I was like, ‘Hmmm, I don’t know, okay, I’m going to do it.'”.

“But I knew it wouldn’t be forever, I knew it. How long, I didn’t know. I had an idea, but I wasn’t sure.”

Death in Paradise airs tonight at 9pm on BBC One.

The character headed off to find his missing stepdaughter Zoe Slater who fled after revealing she was in trouble. Keeping this from his wife Kat Slater, with her cousin Stacey Slater doing the same, things get tense next week.

Kat slams Alfie for lying to her about where he’s been after his story about his brother Spencer was proven wrong. Alfie promises never to lie to her again, while he refuses to tell her the truth about what’s been going on.

Lauren confronts her sibling and tells him he’s on his last warning. When Oscar is alone and he sees a hooded figure in the house he goes on the attack, not realising it’s Lauren’s partner Peter Beale – leading to Peter demanding he leaves.

The incident leads to Lauren trying to get her brother to open up, and he soon tells her more about his time in the youth offender’s centre. Determined to help Oscar, Lauren tries to get Peter to give him a chance leading to a huge row between them.

Finally next week there’s concern for Patrick Trueman, ahead of the return of his son Anthony Trueman. Yolande worries her partner is gambling ahead of their wedding, and she tells him to stop.

Patrick is determined to carry on placing bets in secret, and when he wins big on the horses he convinces Howie Danes to hide it from Yolande. Amid his own money issues Howie is embarrassed that his son Denzel is relying on Kim Fox, Howie’s partner, when he needs money.

As Howie tries to get work, there’s drama at home when Yolande tells Patrick that the wedding is off if he places another bet. Soon Howie offers a solution and suggests he can place the bet for Patrick instead – but will he agree?

Fake Or Fortune guest speechless as ‘painting by Sir Winston Churchill’ worth huge sum

A man who paid a fraction of that could make a life-changing amount if the picture of Clemintine Churchill is proved to have been painted by the revered wartime Prime Minister

Fake or Fortune?
Amateur collector Barry James can’t believe he might have unearthed a genuine painting by Winston Churchill(Image: CREDIT LINE:BBC Studios)

An amateur art collector who claims he has found a lost painting by Sir Winston Churchill is told it could be worth more than £600,000.

Barry James appears on the BBC1 show Fake Or Fortune tonight (MON) with his intriguing picture. He tells presenter Fiona Bruce and international art dealer Phil Mould that he picked it up for just £140 in an antiques market in Ardingly near Gatwick, three years ago because he liked ‘the colours and composition’.

But it was only later when it took it out of the frame that he found a mysterious inscription on the back which read: “This painting of Mrs Winston Churchill on wall of sunken garden at Hurstmonceux (CORR) Castle, Sussex, by The Right Hon. Winston S Churchill. June 1916.”

It shows what is thought to be Sir Winston’s wife Clementine perched on a wall reading a book in the pink flowered gardens of the castle. Barry, from West Sussex, hopes the BBC series, returning for its 13th run, can validate it.

In the BBC show, shocked Barry is told that paintings by Churchill – who was British PM from 1940-45 and 1951-55 – can fetch millions of pounds. In 2021 Hollywood actress Angelina Jolie sold one – The Tower Of The Koutoubia Mosque, painted in Marrakesh during WWII – for a record £7million.

And Barry is informed that if his picture is found to be an original then at auction it could make more than £600,000. The TV duo embark on a search to find out if the artist really was war leader Churchill. Records show how he took up painting in 1915 – in water colours to begin with and later in oils – after he had completed his military service during WW1 and narrowly escaped death.

Fake or Fortune
Barry James said he bought the painting simply because he liked it, and only discovered who might have painted it when he took the back off afterwards(Image: CREDIT LINE:BBC Studios)

He looked on his new hobby as something that took him away from the stress of his high powered life and it became a source of relaxation. Fiona, 61, delves into a book written by his friend Violet Bonham Carter called Winston Churchill As I Knew Him, in which she mentions that the politician stayed at the castle with his paints and brushes.

The author even writes that he was there as a guest in 1916 – but she mentions August rather than June. Undeterred, Fiona visits the castle to locate the exact spot where Clementine would have sat on the wall in the garden to be painted.

Meanwhile art dealer Phil does some digging to check that it is not stolen – and gets the all clear. A further mystery is uncovered when the artwork is x-rayed and another painting is discovered underneath. Experts believe it looks like a painting of a castle – possibly the very one where Winston and his wife stayed.

This news is not unwelcome as the statesman was well-known for re-using canvases. But some doubt is thrown into the mix when it is discovered that the handwriting on the back is not Churchill’s but that of Conservative politician Colonel Claude Lowther, who bought Herstmonceux and restored it – and invited his friend to stay there in 1916.

Barry James and Philip Lould
Barry chats with expert Philip Mould at Ardingly Antiques Fair about the chances of the painting being real – and worth a fortune(Image: CREDIT LINE:BBC Studios)

Barry, who is married and is a carer with a disabled son, admits: “If the painting is real, I’d probably end up reluctantly selling it, obviously for the family. We have always wanted to go to Niagara Falls. Our son is disabled and I think he’d enjoy something like that.” Viewers can find out if the painting is real on the new series of Fake Or Fortune, tonight at 9pm.

Iconic BBC sitcom to make surprise return to screens two years after death of creator

No episodes of the BBC sitcom have been produced since the death of its creator in 2023 but the series will be back on screen for a Christmas special this year.

Bosses are thrilled that the programme is making a comeback after it made the move to BBC One for its last series

Two Doors Down is making a return to screens for a Christmas special later this year. The BBC sitcom – which followed the lives of residents living on a Scottish backstreet – initially ran for seven series from 2016 until 2023, and it was originally thought that no more episodes would be produced following the death of creator Simon Carlyle at the age of just 48.

But the broadcaster has now announced that the programme will indeed return for a festive episode, and Simon’s co-creator Gregor Sharp has written the script.

He said: “It’s really exciting to be revisiting Latimer Crescent with all the regular cast for this new episode. Christmas is a time for getting together with friends and family and then becoming low level irritated by them so it feels like they’re the perfect group to celebrate the season with.” The ensemble cast is made up of a host of Scottish talent, with Alex Norton and Arabella Weir starring as Eric and Beth Baird, whilst Jonathan Watson and Doon Mackichan play their neighbours Colin and Cathy Whyte.

Elaine C. Smith and Graeme Stevely will be back in their roles as Christine O’Neal and Alan respectively, whilst Joy McAvoy will make a comeback as Michelle, and Beth and Eric’s son Ian (Jamie Quinn) will return with his fiancé Gordon (Kieran Hodgson). The action will unfold when all the neighbours pile into Beth and Eric’s house to celebrate Christmas.

Josh Cole, Head of Comedy, BBC Studios Productions, and Steven Canny, Executive Producer, said: “We’re so pleased to be returning to Latimer Crescent and can’t wait for the audience to be back in Beth and Eric’s for another tortuous Christmas. Gregor and Simon created a brilliantly funny show that has an outstanding cast of memorable and loveable characters and we’re hugely looking forward to seeing them torment each other again.”

Confirmation of the special comes just months after actor Kieron let slip that something was on the way as he spoke of how “though” it would be to get back together without their creator, telling The Daily Record : “The first day on set without Simon will be tough for everyone. He was such an integral part of the filming, let alone the writing. He was there every day, all day. He was our friend. He was giving us notes. He was supervising it and guiding it.

Carlyle also wrote for Changing Ends, an ITV comedy series about Alan Carr growing up in the 1980s, and BBC LGBT+ show Boy Meets Girl. There no suspicious circumstances surrounding his death, it’s been reported. Jon Petrie, director of comedy commissioning at the BBC, said: “We are deeply saddened by the news of the death of our friend and colleague Simon Carlyle.

“Simon was a wonderful comedy talent who, amongst many other credits, co-created and wrote the multi award winning series Two Doors Down. His warm comic voice shone through these characters, garnering huge audience affection, and firmly establishing it as a long-lasting sitcom favourite. Our sympathies are with his family and friends at this difficult time.”

His death came before the seventh series of the sitcom went to air, and it eventually moved from BBC Two to BBC One for broadcast, although all episodes are now available on BBC iPlayer. Around the same time, actor Grado claimed that there would be “no more” episodes produced, and the production team spoke of how “deeply saddened” they were by the news of Simon’s death.

The sitcom’s production team added: “We are deeply saddened by this terrible news. Simon was a brilliant, funny, mercurial and magnificent human being. He had a microscopic fascination with what makes funny things funnier and we were so lucky to have known him. He was at the centre of all the work we made together and his loss will be felt profoundly by all of us. We send love and support to his family and friends.”

“Farewell @Simoncarlyle – I am totally devo’ed by your leaving us. The laughs won’t ever be the same. Sleep well pal. #RIPSimonCarlyle,” one Twitter user wrote this evening, as another fan tweeted Caryle’s Twitter account saying: “I’m devastated to hear you’re no longer with us. We started speaking when #TwoDoorsDown very first came on TV. Thanks for always being so kind to me and thank you for such an incredible show! I’ll miss our little chats. Thinking of everyone who knew you. Love.”

EastEnders fans won’t be able to take their usual Thursday visit to Albert Square tonight, as the soap has been taken off air yet again in another huge schedule shake-up.

The BBC soap has seen huge changes in the schedule over the past few weeks with major sporting events such as Wimbledon and the Women’s Euros broadcasting on the BBC. Although Wimbledon came to an end over the weekend, the Women’s Euros are still in full swing – affecting EastEnders‘ schedule.

The Lionesses are still very much in the running to take home the title with their quarter final against Sweden being broadcast on the BBC tonight from 7pm, wrapping up at 10.15pm. This means that unfortunately there’s no room for EastEnders on tonight’s schedule.

Linda Vic
The soap will be back on air next week – as the new owner of the Vic will be revealed(Image: CREDIT LINE:BBC/Jack Barnes/Kieron McCarron)

However, EastEnders fans still received their two hour dose of Walford drama this week, as the soap aired a double bill on Tuesday night. The dramatic episodes saw Karen Henthorn reprise her role as Julie Bates after 27 years as Jay Brown contacted her to let her know Nigel was in Walford.

Julie wasn’t best pleased that Nigel and Phil had kept her in the dark, and towards the end of the double bill, she was seen taking Nigel home to Scotland. A heartbroken Phil couldn’t bring himself to say goodbye to his best friend – but is it the last we’ll see of Nigel?

EastEnders fans will have to wait until Monday for the next instalment, and once again, they’ll have to deal with another schedule shake-up. Fans will be treated to another double bill on Monday night, with both episodes dropping at 6am on iPlayer.

Oscar Branning
This week saw the return of Oscar Branning – and he’s set to up the drama next week(Image: CREDIT LINE:BBC/Jack Barnes/Kieron McCarron)

For those who want to wait until the evening, the first episode will be airing on BBC One at 7.30pm, with the second airing straight after at 8pm.

The soap will air in its usual 7.30pm slot on Tuesday, however will be taken off air again next Wednesday for the second semi-final of the Women’s Euros. Business will commence as usual on Thursday evening, as the soap will be back in its usual 7.30pm slot.

Spoilers for next week tease an explosive week for the soap, as the new owners of the Queen Vic will be revealed. It’s the end of an era for the Carters as Linda and her mother Elaine agreed to sell. Next week, the auction will begin as a bidding war ensues between the Slaters, the Beales and a developer. But who will emerge victorious?

Elsewhere, it looks like Max Branning may not be too far away from returning to Walford as Linda Carter decides to tell Oscar the fact her daughter Annie is his biological half-sister. Oscar’s father Max Branning has no idea Linda’s daughter is his child.

Oscar decides Max needs to know the truth and is keen to tell him, leaving Linda terrified. Lauren Branning is tasked with trying to reason with her brother – is Max’s return sooner than we think?

EastEnders airs Mondays to Thursdays at 7:30pm on BBC One and BBC iPlayer.

Antiques Roadshow guest speechless as items he saved from skip worth £250,000

Antiques Roadshow fans were left amazed as one guest was told his collection of items he saved from a skip were worth an eye-watering amount of money

Antiques Roadshow fans were left in awe during Sunday’s episode at Clissold Park, Stoke Newington, as a savvy guest discovered the astonishing value of a collection he rescued from a skip.

The episode featured a remarkable find when a man brought in an archive belonging to renowned designer Althea McNish, who emigrated from Trinidad in the 1950s and became a titan of fashion and textile design.

Expert Ronnie Archer-Morgan was visibly impressed by the “treasure trove” of McNish’s work that the guest had salvaged, which included pieces designed for prestigious clients like Liberty, Christian Dior, and even the Royal Family.

Recounting his lucky encounter with the items in December 2020, the guest said: “2020, December, builders were throwing stuff away. I was a cheeky chappie, asked them if I could have a look, buy some bits and bobs, done a deal.”

Expert Ronnie then highlighted McNish’s significant impact on British post-war textile design, noting her vibrant contributions that brightened up Britain’s shores with the essence of Trinidadian colour during a dreary post-war period, reports the Express.

Ronnie from Antiques Roadshow then left the guest utterly gobsmacked after valuing their collection at a staggering sum. “I’d like to try and value this, I know that half a square metre of certain of her designs can be £2,500 or a textile design itself can be that sort of money.

“From what you’ve told me and what you’ve described and what I know, I think this archive that you’ve brought to us here is worth in excess of £250,000… in excess of and it needs to be calculated.”

The owner was visibly shocked, expressing their amazement: “That’s blown me away! It’s just been an incredible journey of learning and knowledge, I’ve loved every minute.”

They gratefully added: “Thank you, you’ve made my day, honestly!” to which Ronnie responded with equal enthusiasm: “Well, you’ve made mine too!”

Social media buzzed with excitement over the episode, with one Twitter, now X, user exclaiming: “First time I’ve heard of Althea McNish, but this collection seems amazing, #AntiquesRoadshow” and another chiming in: “Hope it can be properly archived/ displayed.”

Another tweet read: “Incredible valuation of £250000 for the Althea McNish archive on the #AntiquesRoadshow.”

BBC Breakfast’s Naga Munchetty issues warning over ‘pointless’ annoying habit

BBC Breakfast presenter Naga Munchetty was left reeling as she aired warning and shared a major pet peeve

BBC Breakfast’s Naga Munchetty couldn’t contain her irritation discussing the recent spike in water bills, as she spoke out on what she perceives as unnecessary wastage.

On the Saturday episode (July 12), Naga and fellow presenter Charlie Stayt welcomed Andy White from the Consumer Council for Water to chat about homeowners possibly switching to smart meters, with the promise that it could lead to significant financial advantages for some.

The water guru impressed on audiences that households with more bedrooms than occupants could find themselves a bit richer by opting for a smart meter, though he cautioned that there’s quite a backlog, and the transition wouldn’t be immediate.

While Andy was optimistic about the potential savings from exploring smart meter options with water providers, Naga shared her own opinion aimed at viewers who might be squandering water.

Andy mentioned that some individuals were now taking shorter showers to cut costs on both water and electricity. This prompted Naga to interject with a robust piece of advice, reports the Express.

She didn’t mince her words, telling fans: “And don’t leave the tap running when you’re brushing your teeth,” which Andy supported with a firm “Absolutely,” as Naga further added: “It winds me up no end when people do that.”

“It’s pointless,” agreed Andy, to which Naga echoed: “Pointless,” before expressing gratitude towards him for his insights.

On the programme, the conversation shifted to dire warnings about “extreme wildfires in Scotland“. Charlie introduced the topic: “An extreme wildfire warning is in place across Scotland as temperatures continue to soar this weekend.”

Naga elaborated on the situation: “The Scottish fire and rescue team is urging people to be cautious after tackling multiple incidents over the last few weeks.”

The presenter emphasised the need for extra caution in Scotland, adding: “Including large wildfires that burned over four days in the north of Scotland. No one was injured but a large area of countryside has been badly affected.”

Garry Mackay from the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service appeared via video link to give a live update. He described the “unusual” conditions in Scotland, with high temperatures, strong winds, and no rain.

He informed viewers about the “significant” wildfires his teams had recently battled in rural areas, which he said were a “drain on their resources” and posed a “challenge” for the firefighters.

With the forecast predicting even hotter weather over the weekend, he called for the public and communities to remain alert and extremely careful with anything involving a “naked flame”, including “cigarette ends and having open fires”.

BBC Breakfast is broadcast daily on BBC One, starting at 6am.

Former EastEnders actress Kellie Shirley has praised the show for completely changing her life. The actress appeared on the programme as Carly Wicks between 2006 and 2008, before making her final appearance on September 7, 2012.

Throughout her time on the programme, Kellie’s character faced a string of huge storylines, including fights, romances, and even secretly giving birth to a son behind her mum, Shirley Carter’s, back. Although she’s not been on screens in over a decade, Carly was last mentioned in 2022, following the death of her brother Mick Carter.

As Mick’s mum’s Shirley struggled to cope, she and Carly rekindled their bond and Shirley went to stay with her. Speaking about her time on the soap, Kellie exclusively told the Mirror: “I auditioned for it exactly 20 years ago, it changed my life as an actor because you’ve got a tiny bit of a profile that can open doors for you.

“I’m very grateful for that. I had a really good time there. Matt Di Angelo got in touch with me to ask for some advice,” she said of the friendships she made on the show. Kellie added: “That’s the best thing for me about the show, apart from being able to get on the property ladder.

“There are friendships that have stood the test of time for 20 years. Emma Barton (who plays Honey Mitchell), I always talk to her; she’s a friend for life. I don’t see her all the time, but when I do, it’s great. I’m grateful to the show.” But could fans expect to see Carly back on the show any time soon?

“People always ask me that, who knows?” she said. Kellie went on to say: “Anything’s possible, isn’t it, if they’re bringing people back from 20 years ago. But I’m enjoying my career, the variety, independent films and doing my own writing – that’s something that I really love as an actor. I feel like I’m getting somewhere with it, finally.”

Kellie has just written and starred in a short film, Croydon Cowgirl, set in Barry, South Wales, focusing on the life of two lonely strangers. Speaking about the career change, Kellie revealed that she was part of a roundtable with Stephen Graham at a BAFTA Elevate event, who offered invaluable advice.

She said that the Liverpudlian explained that actors shouldn’t moan if they want to play a certain part, and if a script doesn’t appear, they should write it themselves. “It just kind of dawned on me that all the people that I really respect have created it themselves. It was a lightbulb moment.

“I just started writing with a friend of mine, Phoebe Barron, and we work really well together. We’ve got three other projects that we’re working on. Croydon Cowgirl is doing various BAFTA BIFA (British Independent Film Awards) qualifying festivals, we’re developing it into a feature film, which is really exciting!” The actress is also set to play all seven characters in the production, Two, at Greenwich Theatre between August 21 and September 12, with Peter Caulfield playing all the male characters.

Kellie, who is an ambassador for Anthony Nolan, is now fronting the Omaze Million Pound House draw for the charity. “Ever since I was in EastEnders, I ran the marathon for them in 2008,” she said. Kellie added: “I went to see the amazing work that they were doing with stem cell transplants and I’ve met so many people along the way and different events and really seeing firsthand the work they do.

“They literally give people a second chance of life if you have blood cancer, the proof’s in the pudding. And when you hear people’s stories, you cannot help but have that connection and want to raise awareness and do as much as you can for the charity, because without them, it’d be really quite frightening.

“I think it’s four people every day they help, who have blood cancer and can save their life because of the register.”

Kellie Shirley is an Anthony Nolan Ambassador and is backing the charity’s partnership with Omaze, which is giving away a luxury contemporary home in Cheshire worth £4 million – along with £250,000 in cash – to raise money for the charity. Draw entries are available now on their website. The Draw closes at midnight Sunday July 27th.

BBC bosses want Gregg Wallace to make shock MasterChef return despite sacking

The Mirror can reveal that BBC bosses are convinced that Gregg Wallace’s filmed MasterChef episodes will still air despite the presenter’s recent sacking from the show

Gregg Wallace may have been sacked from MasterChef but bosses at the BBC and production company Banijay are convinced the series he’d already filmed before the scandal could yet be saved. One option is that the cookery competition, which cost an estimated £8million to make and was intended to run for 24 hour-long episodes across eight weeks on primetime BBC1, could be shown on iPlayer only.

The decision over its future on BBC1 will fall to director general Tim Davie, who must choose whether to show it on BBC1 or iPlayer or shelve it if it was deemed inappropriate. The BBC said that decision would only be made once the report from law firm Lewis Silkin is made public later this week.

One insider said: “Once the report comes out, we will all know what the legal review has found. Gregg has claimed that many of the more serious allegations against him have not been upheld, and has apologised for the rude and inappropriate language he used, causing complaints that were upheld. The feeling is the series is not dead yet – there are high hopes that it could yet see the light of day.”

The 24-part pre-recorded series was put on ice earlier this year after 13 women came forward to complain about presenter Wallace, 60. Since then, BBC News has claimed that 50 more allegations about him have been made by women, ranging from inappropriate language to groping and sexual intimidation, which he vehemently denies.

Sources close to the show – recorded last year – have said it would be “impossible” to cut him out entirely. As a judge alongside John Torode, Wallace is integral to the format and editing the series to limit his time on screen has also been ruled out.

It comes amid rumours that the winner of the series is considering legal action over their triumph not making it to the screen. One insider said: “For that person, the series not being shown has massive ramifications. They may well have wanted to launch a cookery career off the back of it and now feel that this controversy is preventing that opportunity – through no fault of their own.”

For the contestants, and especially for those who reach the final and the winner, taking part in MasterChef is huge. The show has been life-changing for a great many people who have gone on to pursue careers in cooking.

“These 24 episodes are finished and have been delivered to the BBC. To not show them would be a huge waste of licence fee payers’ money,” one insider said.

“One option is to limit the amateur series with Gregg as presenter to just an iPlayer showing. But it deserves more than that because the brand is huge for the BBC and so many viewers love watching it on BBC1.”

Last year the show celebrated its 20th anniversary with an event attended by 72 former contestants, including many champions whose professional lives changed course as a direct result of taking part. The show also has a dedicated production team who put in many hours of work in order to make the 21st series.

The BBC1 series – which cost an estimated £8million to make – should have been shown earlier this year but was put on ice while the review continued.

Wallace’s co-host John Torode is expected to continue on the show, flanked by a new presenter likely to be Grace Gent, who stepped in for Wallace on the celebrity version earlier this year, filmed in the new Birmingham studio and expected to start next month.

Another contender is Saturday Kitchen presenter Matt Tebbutt, who was drafted in for MasterChef: The Professionals alongside judges Marcus Wareing and Monica Galetti. Filming on that series is just finishing and it is likely to air towards the end of the year in is usual slot.

The BBC said no decision has yet been made on whether the amateur show will air, or on who will be the next presenter of the main series.

The regular version of MasterChef normally goes out in the spring and this year has been replaced by a range of programming including The Repair Shop on the Road and repeats of Who Do You Think You Are?

Whatever the decision over the 21st MasterChef series, featuring Gregg Wallace, casting is already underway for the 22nd series, with applications now open via the show’s Instagram account.

Those who support Wallace says he is being made a scapegoat by those who are trying to protect the hugely important MasterChef brand, claiming he is guilty only of having a “terrible sense of humour” and telling rude jokes at inappropriate moments. But the many claims against him, some going back more than 14 years, include flashing, groping and inappropriate sexual comments.

The official report is expected to be published today (THURS) or tomorrow, with Wallace claiming it will only be a short executive summary rather than the full findings.

He has questioned why “others” on the programme have not also had complaints against them investigated, saying in his post on social media earlier this week: “What really concerns me about the short summary is others who have been found guilty of serious allegations have been erased from the published version of events. I, and I’m sure the public, would like to know why?”

He has also hired a lawyer and vowed to fight his sacking, vowing: “I will not go quietly. I will not be cancelled for convenience. The full story of this incredible injustice must be told and it is very much a matter of public interest.”
