Europe’s best value city break destination with £2.32 beers and £53 per night holidays

WHEN it comes to holidays, everyone wants as much as they can for their buck.

Well, there’s one city that has come up trumps for affordability from cheap hotels to bargain beers, and plenty of attractions to marvel at too.

Airport transfers experts at Hoppa crunched the numbers revealing Prague as the top destination for “affordability and endless things to do”.

Hoppa said: “The Czech capital takes first place because it combines affordable prices with an exceptional selection of sights and activities.”

It continued: “Its 619 budget-friendly attractions include the Prague Castle grounds and the 17th-century Waldstein Garden (and is more than twice the study average of 272 attractions).”

Hoppa calculated that a meal at an inexpensive restaurant averages £8.58, around a third below the overall average of £13.25.

A local draught beer costs approximately £2.32, compared with an average of £4.05 across all the destinations analysed – and three-star hotels average £86.96 per night.

Sun Travel has found some breaks starting from £53 per night – including flights.

Royal Court Hotel
