Strictly Come Dancing results live: Shaun Wright-Phillips eliminated as bosses reveal huge twist

Shaun Wright-Phillips and his pro partner Alexis Warr have been voted out. Following his elimination, Shaun thanked his fellow contestants, the crew and the judges for giving him the chance to be on the show. 

He told host Emma Willis: “I don’t think I can put into words how my time has been. I think from the pros, the judges, the staff behind the cameras, everybody that’s helped me along the way, it’s been the most amazing journey I’ve had. And thank you for giving me the chance to be on the Strictly ballroom floor and actually learn how to dance .”

Alexis added: “I’m so proud of how you just danced that dance-off, that’s the grit that we talk about. It’s been an honour – friends for life.”

Shaun said: “I couldn’t ask for a better partner, a better human being. You knew how to deal with my mood swings, which isn’t easy, for the record. You put me in my box really quickly and got me back on the, on the dance floor trying again because I did have a lot of tough times. And you just knew how to work with me. And do you know what, I wish I could have taken you further.
