ALEX Jones, 49, has revealed that she hurled four pints of milk across her kitchen in a perimenopause rage as she deals with ‘perimenopause “delayed symptoms.”
Speaking on the Dig It with Jo Whiley and Zoe Ball podcast Alex explained that she was slighly in denial about being in that stage of her life.
When Zoe asked her if she was perimenopausal yet, she replied: “I don’t know, I mean am I? I don’t know.
“I’m slightly in denial, I suppose I had my youngest child at 44 and so I don’t know whether my body is confused because have I tricked it into thinking it’s younger than it is?
“Because I kind of think I really haven’t had that many symptoms.
“But then when I threw a four pint of milk accross the kitchen the other day, I thought oh my God here we are. The rage has started.”
Alex continued: “So you know what I don’t know. Some days I think and it’s like that isn’t it?
“It’s so vague and thankfully and I think this is brilliant, we are talking about it more and more now.”
Perimenopause refers to the period leading up to menopause, during which the ovaries gradually produce less oestrogen.
It typically begins in a woman’s early to mid-40s but can start earlier or later, and may last from a few months to 10 years
Alex also revealed that she’s normally a calm person and wants to be the best mother, wife, friend and colleague that she can be.
She said: “Maybe I do need to embrace and go and see about it. It’s just time though, like when do you fit that in?”
Alex shares children Teddy, nine, Kit, seven and Annie, four, with her husband Charlie Thomson.
Charlie is an insurance broker, originally from New Zealand and the pair first met at a party back in 2011 and four years later announced their engagement.
The happy couple tied the knot in 2015 and celebrated their 10th wedding anniversary in Auckland last year.
