During the 30-second video, Alex reveals what her patio looked like before, lined with rust-coloured square slabs and small concrete stones.

To transform the space, she started by applying two coats of white masonry paint to the slabs, making sure all were evenly covered.

She added: “Use masonry paint to give two coats to your slabs.

“Use a Dizzy Ducks stencil with a design of your choice and masonry paint to create a tile effect pattern.

“Ensure to lightly tape down with masking tape to make sure the stencil doesn’t move whilst painting.

“Final step is to seal with concrete sealer to ensure a longer life.

“Tada!”

Below the video, Alex revealed that she used a Dizzy Duck Designs stencil, available to buy online at £25 for a pack of two.

She also used Sandtex’s Masonry Paint, which shoppers can pick up from various retailers including Amazon, with prices starting at just £18.30.

Finally, she sealed with No Nonsense’s Concrete Sealer, priced at £18.49 at Screwfix

Fans loved her bargain transformation, with the video gaining more than 13,200 likes and 389,300 views.

In the comments, other TikTokkers shared their thoughts, with one writing: “Wow. I thought they were expensive tiles.”

“Amazing! Can’t wait to try this myself,” commented another.

A third put: “That’s awesome!!! Good job hun!!”

However, not all were convinced her DIY job would last in the long run, with another adding: “Hi [what] about the rain and winter time?”

Alex replied: “It’s masonry paint so is completely waterproof and has lasted through a Scottish winter.”
