The family of missing hiker Patrick Alan Monroe have been informed.

Mr Monroe was last seen setting off from Pine Trees Leisure Park Campsite in the village around 8am on April 6.

Police said the 33-year-old had reached the summit of Ben Oss around 1.15pm that day.

He went on to summit Ben Lui, reaching it around 3pm, then along the ridge to Ben A’Cleibh at around 4pm.

It is not known what route he may have taken after this.

Police believe he may have retraced his steps along the ridge back to Ben Lui or he could have taken a different route to the A85 and on towards Tyndrum.

A report will now be sent to the Procurator Fiscal.

A Police spokesperson said: “Around 11am on Thursday, 13 April, the body of a man was found in the Tyndrum area.

“The family of missing man Patrick Monroe has been informed.

“There are no suspicious circumstances and a report will be sent to the Procurator Fiscal.”
