The fast food chain’s Chicken McNuggets turn 40 this May.
And staff at the iconic eatery have suggested that a host of new sauces to dip your chicken nuggets in will be released to mark the big celebration.
They include chipotle, mega hot sauce, garlic mayonnaise and creamy ranch.
It is unclear whether the sauces will be limited edition or sticking around.
Among the sauces currently available at UK branches are Sweet Curry, BBQ, Tomato Ketchup and Sweet & Sour.
With certain meals, diners can get a Smoky BBQ dip, Sour Cream & Chive dip, Sweet Chilli dip or a “Rich” tomato sauce.
The new introductions were teased by a pair of workers in their uniforms on Tik Tok.
They penned: “Who’s excited to try these sauces?”
A fellow employee quipped in the comments that head office has a trial bottle of the mega hot sauce.
The original McNugget recipe was made in 1979 and was so well loved that every branch across the world wanted some.
But the chain’s first executive chef René Arend revealed that McDonald’s didn’t have a system capable of supplying that much chicken.
This was fixed in 1983, marking the birthday of the well-loved dish.
According to McDonald’s, its nuggets come in four shapes.
These are the bell, the bow-tie, the ball and the boot.
The chain has said four shapes is the optimal amount for consistent cooking times that abide by food safety standards.
You can buy them in portions of six, nine and twenty – which is dubbed a ShareBox.
A blurb about the ShareBox reads: “100% chicken breast meat in a deliciously crispy coating.
“Served with your choice of four dips, they’re perfect for sharing.
Also available in Six Piece Chicken McNuggets and Nine piece Chicken McNuggets for when you want them all to yourself!
“The 20 Chicken McNuggets ShareBox is intended to serve 4 people.”
A McDonald’s spokesperson said: “We’re always finding ways to innovate when it comes to our menu, and we look forward to sharing more details about our McNuggets 40th Anniversary as and when possible.”
