Target children Pillowfort weighted blankets are being recalling.

Corrections & Clarifications: An earlier version of this story transposed in the headline the number of blankets being recalled. It has been corrected.

Target is recalling about 204,000 weighted blankets after federal regulators say two young girls died of asphyxiation earlier this year.

The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission announced Thursday the Pillowfort weighted blankets are being recalled because children can be in entrapped inside it by unzipping and entering the blanket, raising the chance of asphyxiation.

Federal officials said a 4-year-old girl and 6-year-old girl reportedly became entrapped in blankets at Camp Lejeune, North Carolina in April and died due to asphyxia.

The CPSC added Target has received two additional reports of children becoming entrapped in the blankets.

The blankets, manufactured in China, were sold in Target stores nationwide and online from December 2018 through September 2022 for $40.
