Hilaria Baldwin has revealed that a phone call to her agent has resulted in a major career move for the family.
Daughter Carmen has now released her very own book, despite only being 11 years old. It is a project that is showcased in the latest episode of their reality series, The Baldwins.
The show captures a special moment where Hilaria and Carmen collaborate on a photoshoot for the book’s cover, offering a glimpse into their upcoming literary endeavour.
Throughout the series, Alec and Hilaria have openly discussed their personal aspirations, weighing the pros and cons of Alec returning to work and the potential impact of his absence on their family.
However, it appears that their 11-year-old daughter has taken the reins and kickstarted her own career. Hilaria expressed her astonishment at Carmen’s constant creativity in their home kitchen, concocting homemade remedies and skin care recipes using ingredients like orange juice and coffee.
This inspired Hilaria to contact her agent and propose the idea of Carmen writing a book, reports the Irish Star.
She shared: “Carmen loves creating her own recipes for skin care. She’s always playing and making fun stuff out of things like orange juice and coffee. As I was watching my daughter play and do ad this and that, I called up my agent and I said ‘I feel like Carmen has a book in her’.”
Hilaria continues to detail their family’s creative endeavors, saying, “I had different kids in the kitchen books when I was growing up, what if we had something like that where she can share her ideas and stuff she just does on her own and is natural?”.
“And so today is the day that we are going to do the photos for Carmen’s book.”
Surprisingly, Carmen’s father Alec seems caught off guard by this new project. He reflects, “Carmen now, I didn’t see that coming actually. She didn’t strike me as that girly girly. Makeup and things in her hair. She’s like two hours in the mirror with her friends.
“I’ve worked with Hollywood actresses and some of the most famous actresses in the world and they don’t spend 45 minutes doing their lashes. Nor do their makeup artists!”
The upcoming book is titled Glowing Up: Recipes to Rock Your Natural Beauty Empowerment, Self-Care, and Natural Radiance in One Inspiring Guide, featuring both Carmen and Hilaria Baldwin as co-authors. Its release was scheduled for March 23rd this year.
In an Instagram post revealing the cover last December 2024, Hilaria enthused: “If your child is like ours, skincare is an obsession. Walking that line of letting them explore and have fun, but also being conscious of what they are putting on their skin is a hard one! We strike a balance in our home and part of it has been Carmen led by watching her make her own skincare products, from our kitchen, researching, learning about beneficial ingredients, creating and having fun!”.
The announcement read with palpable excitement: “Today we’re so excited to share Carmen is announcing the launch of her book. It’s a guide to embracing self-care, building confidence, and celebrating natural beauty. We are so proud of you Carmen, and so excited to share this project with you all!”
