And with the big day just around the corner, the brand has prepared a new flavour for Brits to enjoy.

But it comes with a very bizarre filling.

The latest bun to the market is a Dippy Egg filled Hot Cross Bun, which the supermarket says has an extremely “oozy gooey” centre.

Drawing inspiration from a dippy egg, the chocolatey bun is filled with a smooth yellow and white chocolate centre.

The chocolate whopper comes in a pack of six and costs £3.50.

Shoppers have gone wild for the latest buns, with one saying they’ve already flown off the shelves in their local supermarket.

One customer said: “These look yummy!”

Whilst another commented: “They are fabulous.”

However, some were not so keen with one commenter noting they “prefer the original ones” and another calling the latest flavour “Hot Cross bun overkill”.

They’re available to buy across all stores, along with their savoury cheesy counterparts which were a “real hit” last year.

Also on the menu are sweet cinnamon buns, which also come in a pack of six for £3.50.

Enriched with butter, they’re finished with a drizzle of white icing and cinnamon sugar.

For the traditionalists, M&S also has its original fruity hot cross buns in stock too.

At just £3.50 for a pack of six, they are filled with Early Grey Tea soaked currants, Chilean flame raisins, and golden raisins.

They’re also packed with apricot and candied orange peel and made with a blend of wheat flour and Wildfarmed flour.

And if hot cross buns aren’t your thing, the supermarket also has a range of other Easter goodies including a festive Colin the caterpillar cake and Flossy the cow for £15.

Biscuit-loves will also be thrilled to discover the speckled egg cookies for just £2.85.

This comes as Morrisons announced it was slashing the price of its Easter eggs this week to just £3.

The offer means Morrisons is beating Aldi, which is charging £3.45 for some of the same size choccy treats this weekend.

A bargain hunter first spotted the deal, posting in the Extreme Couponing and Bargains UK Facebook group: “Morrisons 3 for £9 has landed in stores today.”

Chocoholics were thrilled, with one shopper commenting: “This is fantastic, I’ll be heading over today.”

Another added: “Ooooh these are good.”
