CAMERON MENZIES collapsed to the floor in disbelief after “miscount of the century” on match dart.

The 35-year-old booked his place in the European Darts Trophy quarter-final with a remarkable deciding leg victory over Mike De Decker.

Menzies needed double nine to win the game but missed a whopping four darts at the target.

It was head in hands stuff for the Scot… yet things were about to get a whole lot worse.

His double trouble gave De Decker three darts to win it but checkout nerves also got the better of him.

Menzies could step up again and he needed a routine 18.

His first arrow went in the six and all he had to do was go to the right for the double six to checkout from 12.

But Menzies’ maths let him down as he bizarrely threw at double four instead.

Even the TV cameras did not initially pick up the mistake as they were zoomed in on the correct part of the board.

A horrified Menzies collapsed to the ground in shock at his huge error and his head was in his hands for some time.

The commentators said: “What’s he doing? What have you done Cameron. It was six double six, you know that.”

Menzies eventually got back to his feet and De Decker came to the oche with three more darts for victory.

But the Belgian let him off the hook with three more wild throws.

It meant to the surprise of everyone, including Menzies, he got another opportunity and now required just four.

There was no mistake this time and he correctly landed the double two to win as Menzies again fell to the floor in relief rather than disbelief.

The tournament’s host said: “I have never seen the like.”

On the huge mishap, Cammy said: “I buggered that. If I spoke the words I want to say then I would be fined.

“I don’t know man. I had a massive brain fart.

“Counting is usually one of my strong points but I screwed that massively.

“Lucky to win but I made an arse of it.”
