KFC is taking on rivals Itsu and Chipotle by launching a fresh set of dishes to its menu.
The fast food chain has teamed up with Gymshark to offer up a tasty lighter option by adding rice bowl variations.
Famished fans can now grab either The Original Ranch or a Zinger Ranch Rice Bowl for just £5.99 from March 17.
The former comes complete with a succulent Original Recipe Fillet with KFC’s Original Ranch dressing.
Both bowls have a Cajun dirty rice base topped with spring onions, roast potatoes, charred corn and a blackened Cajun rub.
But there’s more. Tangy pickled slaw is added together with a fresh salad combining frisee, spinach and salanova.
Those who want to bring the heat can opt for the Zinger Ranch Rice Bowl, which boasts a loaded Zinger Fillet and Zinger Ranch dressing to deliver a “fiery kick”.
Those behind the relaunch stated: “Fuelled by KFC and approved by Gymshark, the revamped rice bowls offer a nutritious option for health-conscious people who don’t want to sacrifice flavour or enjoyment.
“So, whether you’re hitting the gym or looking for a quick, tasty lunch, KFC’s rice bowls have you covered.”
COSTA SHAKE UP
It comes after coffee chain Costa launched its brand new spring menu last week, and it features eight brand new items, as well as some returning favourites.
Fans will be especially excited to find out that one of the chain’s most popular viral drinks is making a return – just in time for sunnier weather.
From today, Costa customers can order the Iced Whipped Latte once again.
There are also plenty of returning food options, too, such as the Nacho and Chilli Cheese Toastie.
Costa’s Egg Mayo sandwich is also once again available to buy if you’re fancying a lighter bite and is available from £2.89.
Plus, the Triple Chocolate Muffin returns as an option for chocolate-lovers – filled with a rich chocolate sauce and topped with chocolate chunks.
But the most exciting part of the launch is all the never-seen-before goodies which are up for grabs.
Customers can add the brand new Cinnamon Bun Syrup to their drinks.
You can opt for hot or cold — both the Cinnamon Bun Latte and Iced Latte start at £4.
You can also enjoy a range of sweet treats which have never been seen in Costa before, including a Chocolate and Pistachio Cookie Sandwich.
It has been introduced off the back of a recent viral pistachio-craze, the dark chocolate biscuit treat costs £3.10
Also joining the lineup is a new Strawberry and Vanilla Cake which features light vanilla sponge, cream cheese frosting, and fruity strawberry jam, costing £3.65 – though prices can vary by store.
