MISSING out on a Best Actor award would hurt Timothée Chalamet’s ego but it could be a blessing when it comes to his relationship with Kylie Jenner, a PR expert has said.

Chalamet is hoping to join the ranks of legendary actors who have won the prestigious gong for his portrayal of Bob Dylan in the biopic A Complete Unknown.

At 29, he is the youngest actor since James Dean to receive two Best Actor nominations.

Chalamet was previously nominated for Best Actor in 2018, but lost out to Gary Oldman.

He has been dating Kylie Jenner since 2023 and the loved-up Hollywood couple have been seen having tender moments at award ceremonies.

Speculation has been rife as to whether Jenner will attend the ceremony at the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles on Sunday.

PR expert Eric Schiffer believes her reputation will be enhanced if she attends but only she can make the decision to grace the red carpet.

And he doesn’t really see any downsides to Jenner being in attendance.

“I would imagine that if he wants her to support him, she will do it,” he said.

“I don’t think it’s going to go wrong by being in an elevated event like the Oscars, with someone who is capturing the attention of the Academy like he is.

“I think she’ll handle herself in a graceful way.”

Chalamet is coming into the Oscars having scooped the best actor prize at the SAG Awards.

He attended the event with his mom and paid tribute to her during his acceptance speech.

But, Chalamet is not the favorite to take home the Best Actor Oscar prize.

Bookmakers currently put Adrien Brody as the favorite to win the gong. Chalamet is a second favorite.

Other actors nominated include Ralph Fiennes for his role in Conclave – a movie that has been criticized over how the Catholic Church is portrayed.

Colman Domingo, who stars in the prison drama movie Sing Sing, and Sebastian Stan, who plays Donald Trump in the biopic The Apprentice, round off the list of nominees.

But, irrespective of whether Chalamet is named Best Actor, Schiffer doesn’t believe it would be a significant blow to his career.

“If he doesn’t win, I don’t think it’ll be a death blow,” he said.

“But, it will definitely be an ego shot for someone who is definitely positioning himself for greatness.”

Schiffer believes Jenner has a significant role to play in the aftermath of a potential defeat.

He acknowledged it wouldn’t be an exciting evening if Chalamet loses.

“But, it can also bring them closer because it gives her an opportunity to support him and to be there emotionally at a devastating time for such a sensitive guy,” Schiffer said.

“He cares about winning and being the best.”

Rumors about Chalamet and Jenner’s relationship swirled during the spring of 2023.

In April of that year, a source close to Jenner told Entertainment Today that she was “having fun” with Chalamet.

But, the insider stressed that their relationship was very much casual.

They said Jenner’s relationship with Chalamet felt different to her past relationships.

In September 2023, the pair were snapped watching the finals of the US Open tennis championships in New York.

Pictures from the event showed the pair with arms around each other.

The young couple looked smitten with one picture capturing the couple as if they were about to kiss.

Chalamet and Jenner have strived to make their relationship work despite busy schedules.

“Even though Kylie has so many of her own commitments, she is very proud of Timothée and wants to be there for him and support him,” a source told Entertainment Today in December 2023.

The insider said he was “equally supportive” and was fond of her work ethic.

Last summer, The U.S. Sun exclusively reported on how the pair’s relationship seemed to be heating up.

And, speculation about a potential engagement went into overdrive earlier this month when both were spotted wearing matching Cartier rings at the BAFTAs in London.

One snap captured the couple holding hands as Chalamet looked adoringly at his partner.

The U.S. Sun reported how Jenner desperately wants to attend the ceremony.

But, she is mourning the death of her hair stylist Jesus Guerrero, who died suddenly and unexpectedly,

Guerrero and Jenner had a close bond.

The U.S. Sun has approached Chalamet and Jenner’s representatives.
