We have one savvy shopper to thank for sharing the news via the Extreme Couponing and Bargains UK’s Facebook page on Sunday, January 12, 2025.
The shopper revealed that Tesco in West Bromwich, between Dudley and Birmingham, is selling a double-sized electric blanket for just £2.81.
It features three adjustable heat settings and is also an “energy efficient and affordable way to stay warm for less”, the online description reads.
In fact, shoppers can pre-heat their beds for two hours on a low heat setting costs “from as little as 1p”, the description adds.
However, it is recommended that users turn the appliance off before falling asleep.
The savvy shopper who bagged three of these blankets for a fraction of the price it’s selling for online said: “£2.81 each from Tesco West Bromwich – clearance!!
“Check your stores as there were crates full.
“Update – doubles only, no other sizes were on offer to my knowledge.”
Online, Tesco is selling a double size for £25, however, it seems the West Bromwich site is having a clearance.
Hundreds of excited shoppers took to the comment section of the post.
One keen shopper said: “Wow if anyone sees these could they please get me two and I’ll pay postage to send them to me.”
And then a second said: “We need these in my house.”
Meanwhile a third commented: “We need to go asap!!!!”

There you can add your postcode, town or city, and once selected you can check stock.
But remember, just because something is on offer, or is part of a sale, it doesn’t mean it’s always a good deal.
