With standout performances at Tomorrowland in Belgium and Ushuaia in Ibiza this summer, alongside a global world tour and the attention from many topflight DJs such as Solomon, Tale Of Us and Dubfire, the new EP is a follow up to the acclaimed Set & Setting, which set fire to Truesoul last summer.

We caught up with Goom Gum this week and asked them to create a yuletide playlist of classic electronic dance that inspires their own music.

Listen to their selection below and read what they had to say about music from the likes of Donna Summer, Paul van Dyk, The Prodigy and Laurent Garnier.

Donna Summer – I Feel Love
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vwyVRT8exsU
One of the few tracks in the history of dance music that can still be played in its original version and it will be as relevant as ever. Authors Giorgio Moroder and Pete Bellotte were decades ahead of their time.

Pryda – Armed

Eric Prydz is the only producer who could become a superstar of underground sound and conquer radio and TV channels.

He created a unique sound that no one has been able to replicate so far. His tracks sound perfect in their original versions and no remixes can make them more perfect.

After many years his sound is still as relevant as ever and most of the top DJs in the world continue to play his tracks.

We play his track “Armed” most often. It’s never understated.

Westbam – Beatbox Rocker

The German sound we grew up on.

Still sounds like it was written yesterday. Plus, we like to slip a little break beat into our sets.

Felix – Don’t You Want Me
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bj8xF2bnxp0
A perfect melody and sound that can be remixed ad infinitum. That’s exactly what a lot of producers do.

Every new remix version with this tune is an assured success.

Azzido Da Bass – Dooms Night (Timo Maas Remix)

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=giwMVWR5ETA
One of the most stylish classical tracks, which has motivated us since 2000s. Stomping break-beat drums and this fat bass makes us crazy!

Michelle Weeks – The Light (UBP Classic Mix)
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qrSccWbQGl8
The legendary track of queen of soulful house & one of the best producers crew UBP Project made an amazing soulful anthem “The Light” which was and still is one of the most iconic house tracks ever!

Paul van Dyk – For An Angel
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=–3eIRSg2RY
The track that made us fall in love with dance music, feel its beauty and melody!

The track that will remain in people’s hearts for centuries!

Moloko – Forever More (Francois K & Eric Kupper Vocal Mix)
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S95mRfGqhCY
We fell in love with this remix once we bought a vinyl in 2003, brilliant production of Francois K & Eric Kupper which sounds modern even nowadays!

The Prodigy – Their Law
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Qz9I0WJxF84
The best, since 1994 – 2024, nothing changes! Brilliant of dance music!

Laurent Garnier – Man With The Red Face
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J5bBCaUnPq4
The French touch of great dance music for us was made by Laurent Garnier 24 years back.

It’s inspired us and all dance musicians each new year to produce! Classical track that never gets old!
