Over 100 Air India passengers have endured a mammoth delay of over over 80 hours stranded in Phuket, Thailand.
Their ordeal began on November 16 when they were informed of a six-hour delay due to a technical issue.
They eventually boarded the flight but were asked to disembark an hour later.
The flight was then cancelled.
Hotel and meals were provided for the stranded passengers while the airline said some were able to be re-accommodated on other flights.
“Some of the guests were accommodated on alternatively available flights. Passengers were also offered options for full refunds on cancellation and complimentary rescheduling,” the airline said.
However, this wasn’t the end of their troubles.
The plane’s fault was apparently repaired and the flight to Delhi took off the following day.
But around two hours later it returned to Phuket due to a ‘technical issue.’
It is unclear if it was the same technical fault.
As of Tuesday, the passengers were still stuck in Thailand.
The incident has now gone viral due to social media posts by the stranded passengers.
At the same time, Air India has also been taking heat on social media after a Paris-Delhi flight was diverted to Jaipur due to fog in the capital.
After a five hour wait in Jaipur, passengers were reportedly put on a bus to complete the journey by road due to flight crew being out of hours.
