FURIOUS Love Island fans have threatened to contact Ofcom after last night’s shock final result.
Monday night’s Love Island final saw Mimii Ngulube and Josh Oyinsan beat Nicole Samuel and Ciaran Davies to be named the 2024 winners.
Welsh couple Ciaran and Nicole were firm fan favourites throughout the series after coupling up at the very start.
They’d been hotly tipped to scoop the £50,000 prize – leaving viewers stunned when it went the other way.
Rushing to social media after the winners were announced, some fans insisted they’d be getting in touch with the broadcasting regulator Ofcom.
One wrote: “i just know the whole of wales writing to ofcom rn.”
Another said: “OFCOM OFCOM OFCOM!!!”
And a third added: “I’m honestly really surprised Mimi and Josh won #loveisland. Welsh community lacking what’s going on wales?”
Viewers also thought they worked out the ‘real reason’ Mimii and Josh won the public vote.
Although Josh came into the show fairly late, Mimii won over fans from the moment she entered the villa.
Many speculated that they only won because of Mimii’s popularity and not because of their relationship.
One wrote on social media: “Let’s be honest, people didn’t vote for the most compatible or genuine couple to win, they just voted cause they wanted Mimii to win.”
Mimii and Josh also beat off competition from fellow finalists Matilda Draper and Sean Stone and Jessica Spencer and Ayo Odukoya.”
Ahead of the final the Islanders got dressed up for one last dinner together, during which Sean told Matilda he loved her for the first time.
Although she said it back, some fans speculated Matilda was “faking it” so they still had a chance of winning.
