The vet and the chef – who are played by actors Zoe Henry and Mark Charnock in the ITV soap – had a furious row last night.
It culminated in Rhona declaring their struggling marriage to be over in front of their friends and family.
But tonight it was clear the two were depressed at the thought of seriously splitting.
Viewers know that Rhona’s decision to turn on ex Gus and send him to prison for eight years out of revenge – despite him signing over baby Ivy to them – had left Marlon horrified.
He couldn’t understand why Rhona would change her mind so publicly and be so vindictive.
And despite their plans to keep their troubles from the kids, it was clear that both April and Leo had picked up on the tension.
With all the stress spilling over, both seemed resigned about losing their marriage for good.
That was until tonight when Rhona tearfully admitted that she didn’t want to end things and she wanted to fight to keep them together.
Marlon asked her to attend marriage counselling with him so they could work through their issues – and surprisingly she agreed.
“I will do anything to save our marriage, anything,” she said.
