RESIDENTS have been evacuated after a grenade was found on a quiet street – sparking a huge emergency response with a bomb squad at the scene.
Cops scrambled to a street in the leafy Bristol suburb of Fishponds after the old hand-bomb was found.
A woman told the Bristol Post her mum had been evacuated from her home at around 9.40am.
The local Explosive Ordnance Disposal Team are now working to make the grenade safe.
Avon and Somerset Police said: “Officers are currently at Homefield Drive, in Fishponds, following a report of a suspected old grenade being discovered this morning.
“A small number of properties were evacuated as a precaution while officers awaited the arrival of the Explosive Ordnance Disposal Team – who are now at the scene.”
