Fans of the ITV soap opera were left saddened when they saw that the age-gap lovers had called it quits.

Victoria had been openly sharing her concern about whether she saw a future with Jacob after declaring that although she loves him, she felt under pressure to make it work.

Their romance has caused a storm in the village after Victoria fell for her fomrer step-son which left her ex, and Jacob’s father, David, devestated.

He then fled the village unable to cope with seeing his son sleeping with his ex-girlfriend.

However, despite really attempting to solidify the romance, they called it quits in a move which left Jacob devastated.

In upcoming scenes, Victoria is left devastated when she loses her job in the wake of the break-up.

The double whammy of breaking up with her lover and losing her job becomes too much to bare.

Moira encourages her to find a new job in a bid to get over the split and take steps to move forward with herself.

Although she reels from the split, Jacob is also left distraught and in pain over the split.

Elsewhere, Leyla tries persuading Jacob to return to his studies as he wants to take a break secretly hoping Victoria will take him back.

Fans were previously left stunned at the amount of times Jacob and Victoria were seen romping on-screen.
