The PM has laughed off a question about whether he is part of the “deep state”.
Asked by Conservative MP William Wragg about former PM Liz Truss’s claims she was undermined by the “deep state”, he repeatedly said it was a “question for her”.
But he went on to joke to MPs on the Liaison Committee that he would not be able to say if he was part of it.
Ms Truss told Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC) in the US that her efforts to cut taxes during her brief period in Downing Street were “sabotaged” by “the deep state”.
