She revealed her anti-aging advice for glowing skin backed by science.
Valerie (@valerieribon) shared the skincare tip in a TikTok video.
More than just keeping up to date with a proper skincare routine, she explained that a nutrient-rich diet was also crucial.
She started eating two foods that turned back time as she aged.
“This is weird things I do to look hot when I’m old,” she said.
“If you want to be hot when you’re old, you need to be having oranges because they contain naringenin.”
Naringenin, a flavanone, is commonly found in citrus fruits and has anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, and protective properties.
Studies have shown that flavanone protects cells from skin aging caused by UVB rays and oxidative stress.
Along with oranges, naringenin is found in high concentrations in grapefruits, tart cherries, tomatoes, and Greek oregano.

“Naringenin blocks the enzyme that breaks down the hyaluronic acid in the body,” Valerie added.
To plump the skin from the inside out, Valerie also intentionally ate foods with high concentrations of hyaluronic acid.
“Bone broth is the food highest in hyaluronic acid,” she said.
Hyaluronic acid, a natural fluid found in the eyes and joints, acts as a lubricant for tissues and joints.
When used on the skin, the fluid helps make the skin flexible, increasing elasticity.
Hyaluronic acid is often used in cosmetics to stretch skin and helps to prevent wrinkles and fine lines.

“Ideally grass-fed,” she said.
One commenter shared beneficial foods for vegetarians who could not eat animal byproducts.
“Eat lots of tofu and tempeh! Snow fungus and bamboo extract help with collagen production and skin elasticity and don’t involve animal abuse,” they said.
