Occasional Digest - a story for you

AN Aldi worker has revealed the easy way to make an Easter-themed charcuterie board to impress your guests with over the long weekend.

We all know Easter is about the chocolate, however, there’s plenty of us (me) who would much rather a cheese board over a chocolate egg.

Thankfully, the German supermarket has put together an easy guide on how to make a fancy grazing board at home – sticking to the theme of Easter of course.

And the best part? It’ll cost you just under a tenner thanks to the budget-friendly 79p buys included.

In the clip posted to their social media, the Aldi worker started with an essential grazing board item – houmous for just 89p.

Making sure to include some festive chocolates – they added their milk chocolate mini bunnies and eggs for 79p a pack.

Carrot sticks and crackers for 79p were also vital to make sure there was a way to eat the houmous with out getting in a mess.

You can bag pre-made carrot sticks for 89p so you don’t have to spend the afternoon chopping them.

Grapes were the next must-have item on the board and they picked out the mixed grape punnet for £1.79.

It wouldn’t be a charcuterie without some meat and cheese – sop they added the Italian salami and cheese selection to the board for just £1.79 a pack.

It wouldn’t be Easter without some Hot Cross buns, so they added a few to the mix – you can grab four buns for £1.25 in stores.

Last but by no means least, they added a handful of strawberries to the platter for £1.89 a punnet.

The end results looked incredible and are definitely on our list to make for the long weekend and there’s something for everyone to enjoy.

“Check out our Easy Easter Charcuterie Board. Grab all these essentials in store now to build your own* prices correct as of 11.03.24,” Aldi captioned the post.

And if you fancy a takeaway but don’t want to spend the money – one savvy couple have shared the must-try recipes you need for fakeaway KFC from Aldi.

Essential ingredients for this one include four chicken breasts, seeded brioche rolls and hash browns.
