The deal will make it easier for UK and Texan companies in sectors such as energy, life sciences and professional services to do business together.
US President Joe Biden does not want to do a US-wide trade deal with the UK, so ministers have been signing individual deals with American states.
A government official said: “Following hot on the heels of our deal with Florida, this agreement with Texas really shows the appetite US states have to do more business with the UK.
“Even if Biden doesn’t want a trade deal, massive economies like the fantastic Lone Star State are chomping at the bit to get closer to us and we’re ready to make that happen!”
Britain signed a deal with Florida late last year.
