The England football legend was a guest for the channel’s TV coverage for the Manchester United against Everton match.
Rooney was joined by former Red Devils team mate Rio Ferdinand.
Acting the role of quizmaster was host Jules Breach.
Rooney and Ferdinand were asked to issue a one-word answer to describe a number of players they used to play with at Old Trafford.
The game lasted about 30 seconds and generated plenty of laughs in the studio.
Stars including Cristiano Ronaldo, Patrice Evra and Zlatan Ibrahimovic were all given honourable mentions.
When Nani’s name was mentioned, Rooney said: “Annoying,” which saw Ferdinand roar with laughter.
The, when Phil Neville’s name came up, Rooney issued another brutal putdown.
Rooney played with Neville for one season, until the defender turned midfielder left for Goodison Park in 2005.
However, even though he moved to Rooney’s boyhood club – Man Utd’s all-time top scorer showed no mercy.
“Annoying,” he quipped without flinching as Ferdinand and Breach giggled.

Breach then asked: “Annoying, why?”
To which Rooney cheekily responded: “It’s Phil Neville isn’t it?”
Ferdinand was equally as unimpressed by Neville calling him, “boring.”
Former Portugal star Nani also received the “annoying” tag from the unforgiving Rooney.
The pair were at the Theatre of Dreams to see Erik ten Hag’s side record a 2-0 win over Sean Dyche’s struggling side.
Two first half penalties from Bruno Fernandes and Marcus Rashford were enough for the home side to earn all three points.
