The winner of Thursday’s by-election has arrived back in the House of Commons.
George Galloway has previously represented seats in Glasgow, east London and Bradford, and is now the MP for Rochdale for the Workers’ Party of Britain.
The seat was previously held by Labour, but the party withdrew support for its candidate Azhar Ali over remarks widely alleged to be antisemitic.
Mr Galloway was flanked by Alba Party member Neale Hanvey and by the Father of the House, Conservative MP Peter Bottomley.
