Occasional Digest - a story for you

Katrina Gorry has been hustling through midfield, trying to combine with her wide teammates on both sides of the field to open up some angles in behind Uzbekistan’s defence.

Torpey and Ellie Carpenter are working together down the right wing, but the debutant is looking a bit hesitant, cutting the ball back and trying to keep possession instead of curling early crosses into the box.

She’s been swapping with Hayley Raso in these opening eight minutes, and they’ve just swapped back again, maybe because Gustavsson knows Raso is a bit more direct from that side.

Uzbekistan are doing well to stay calm and compact, though, squeezing the Tillies out from the middle channels and forcing them wide instead.
