Former Pakistani Prime Minister Imran Khan proclaimed victory in the country’s election through artificially generated speech.

Having been imprisoned last August and barred from running in the election, Khan used artificial intelligence to create a stand-in-voice to spread the good word to his followers, according to reports in the New York Times and other media.

Khan’s Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf party (PTI) was barred from running in the Thursday elections, but members of the party campaigned as independents, winning 101 out of 266 seats in the National Assembly, the Associated Press reported.
