Two men are facing multiple charges after allegedly firing shots in central Brisbane before fleeing and setting a car on fire in dramatic scenes captured by a Queensland Police helicopter.
Three people suffered non-life threatening injuries in what police believe was a targeted attack in the city around 10.40pm on Saturday night.
The alleged offenders are accused of fleeing the scene and driving to Darra in the city’s south-west, where they allegedly set fire to the vehicle just after midnight.
Video released by Polair shows a car driving away at high speed before cutting to images of people running away as police cars close in.
The video shows a suspect appearing to pause, then putting up his hands and lying face down on the ground as police officers move in to arrest him.
Other black and white video shows what appears to be a large fire glowing under a bridge filmed from the police helicopter.
Two men – a 19-year-old man from Redbank Plains and a 20-year-old man from Goodna – have been charged with four counts of attempted murder and a slew of other charges.
Each man is facing 30 charges in total including wounding, unlawful use of a motor vehicle, unlawful possession of weapons, discharge of a weapon in a public place and arson.
They’re due to appear in Brisbane Magistrates Court on Monday.
Police are still searching for a third male suspect and have asked for public help in locating him.
