A BODY positive influencer has stood up against unrealistic body standards.

Jess (@luvjessicablair) shared the video with over 540,000 TikTok followers.

As she got styled and dressed for the day, the influencer explained why she was proud to show off her arms.

“If I had a nickel for every time somebody told me to get loose skin removal surgery, I would quite literally be rich by now,” she said.

“Like come on people, it’s okay to have untoned, flabby, fat, stretch mark-covered arms.”

More than just merely being acceptable under the societal gaze, Jess encouraged her viewers to be proud of their bodies.

“Surprise surprise, you are allowed to show them off!” she said.

“You are allowed to wear whatever you want, your body does not need to look one specific way, me and my flabby arms are going to be hot all summer.”

Especially in hot weather, Jess felt it was more trouble than it was worth to hide yourself.

“Embracing my flabby arms instead of hating myself and hiding them bc life’s too short to not wear sleeveless tops when it’s hot out,” she said.

People took to the comments to share their thoughts on her message.

Many were inspired by her thought process: “Have those people considered that you are slaying harder than anyone? Checkmate,” said one commenter.

“I admire you for always talking about body positivity and fatphobia,” said another.
