Police have shot dead a dog that attacked an officer and a male suspect during an arrest in Perth’s east.

Officers were at a home in Stratton about 9.30am on Tuesday where they took a man aged in his 30s into custody.
While this was happening, police say a dog, owned by another person, attacked the arrested man and a female officer.
A male police officer fatally shot the dog “to prevent further injury”.
The arrested man sustained an injury to one of his legs and the policewoman has injuries to her legs and one of her hands.
Both have been taken to Midland Hospital and police are investigating the incident.
