The anonymous Redditor u/InfamousAdvice2386 shared her relationship problems with her MIL in a forum.
She explained that her MIL has always been judgemental towards her body, as a size 6 woman with curves.
“She looks like Skeletor, so to her everyone else is fat,” she explained.
“My husband’s ex-girlfriend from before we were dating was also about her height and weight and was straight as a stick. No curves.”
Once, during a discussion about the rising cost of bras, she revealed her bra size to her MIL, to her immense shock.
“Well MIL overhead from the next room and said ’30H?!? That’s impossible, your band size can’t be that small and I KNOW your boobs aren’t that big,'” she wrote.
Since the discovery, her mother-in-law has made relentless comments about her chest.
“MIL then made some rude remarks about how ‘they must be so saggy’ and I commented that actually no, since they’re always in a sports bra and I have no kids, they are not saggy at all,” she said.
The Redditor explained that her mother-in-law seemed to have projected her insecurities onto her.
“This is where she went off on me because she also resents me for not having children,” she wrote.
“She may comment that it must be nice to have ‘huge perfect t*ts’ and that I’ll ‘never be a real woman because I won’t experience a body after children’ and ‘people pay tons of money for that.'”
Upon return from Europe where the Redditor and her husband went to a nude beach, her MIL did not take well to a photo album of their trip and her topless-ness.
“When she got to these photos she literally threw the photo album onto the table and made a sound of disgust. She then lectured us on why we shouldn’t be going to nude beaches,” she said.
