Occasional Digest - a story for you

AN ABANDONED Audi R8 has been transformed into a beauty that would make Iron Man envious.

The luxury supercar had been left rotting outside an empty house until it was found by Rj and Brent from WD Detailing – who then enlisted the help of Detail Dane.

When it was found the team exclaimed “this must be where Tony Stark left his car”.

But the motor was grey and dusty, covered in cobwebs, leaves and other gunk – and mice had even chewed through the bag lines so it was impossible to get the car off of the ground.

When the team attempted to shift the car it made an awful screeching sound as the tub scraped along the tarmac.

To help speed up the process they started taking apart the exterior of the vehicle to transport it to Dane’s garage.

It took the trio over an hour to drag it away from the house and onto a lift kit.

It then took them two more hours to place into a trailer, and an additional three to get it to Dane’s garage.

Here’s where the real work began.

Dane began by power-washing the exterior, before using a foam and brush to manually remove any remaining dirt and restore its former shine to the tyres, and went on to power-wash it once more.

It was immediately looking better, but it was hardly enough for the detailing trio.

Tirelessly working, and only intermittently breaking to joke about how the car had seen better days, they got to work steaming the mould encrusted interior.

Each individual seat was manually removed, steamed, jet-washed and then hoovered.

After the seats were put back in, the trio returned their attention to the exterior. They repaired the damaged paintwork and applied paint protection, polishing it off with a gleaming finish.

They put a tender to the battery and eventually got power.

Although the full-tank of five-year-old fuel was a foul combination and needed desperate replacing.

Having long expired it caused black smoke to billow out, but none of this concerned the detailers who were overjoyed with the restoration.

The video has since been shared to YouTube, on Detail Dane’s account, and has already amassed over 25,000 views from impressed fans.

One user commented: “Looking better than new ! I hope they’re able to get it back on the road soon.”

Another wrote: “Let’s go another banger so encouraging”

While a third added: “Great Job Dane WD sent me over subscribed and liked looking forward to more vlogs”
