FALLON SHERROCK was shot down at the Worlds by the Machine Gun of Darts.

The Queen of the Palace was unable to back up her incredible exploits from four years ago as she was humbled 3-1 by Jermaine Wattimena.

Despite winning the opening set, the Pink Princess – who last month received an MBE for services to the sport – lost her way on the oche and was knocked out by the big-scoring Dutchman.

Sherrock could have taken this to a fifth set but went BUST when throwing for double eight, hitting single 16 instead, and this allowed Wattimena the chance to survive.

Wattimena, 35, is known for his rat-tat-tat delivery on the oche and he dedicated this victory to amputee darting pal Toon Greebe who died in October aged 35.

The world no51 will now face German Martin ‘The Wall’ Schindler on Friday in the second round.

Sherrock beat two men on the Ally Pally stage in December 2019 but she is still searching for a repeat of those heroics.

Meanwhile, wonderkid Luke Littler fancies his chances to go on a winning run over Christmas.

The 16-year-old won a second Junior Darts Corporation title on the big stage, beating Almos Kovacs, 17, of Hungary  5-3 with a 102 average yesterday.

Now the Warrington star will take on former Lakeside champ Christian Kist, 37, in the senior Worlds on Wednesday and he doesn’t fear the challenge.

He said: “I don’t really feel the pressure. I know people compare me to Michael van Gerwen.

“But I let my darts do their job — I do fancy my chances against Kist.

“I’m not expecting to win the Worlds, I’m just expecting to win a game or two.”
