Occasional Digest - a story for you

SUPERMARKET shoppers have been rushing to bag huge bargains on Cadbury Christmas chocolate – and they’re less than 50p.

Most of us will have already tucked into almost two weeks worth of advent calendar chocolate as we race towards Christmas Day.

But if you haven’t picked yours up yet then don’t fret, because you might be able to make a killer saving.

Supermarkets have started to slash the prices of their advent calendars and there is still a chance to nab one before the first day of the month is over.

Asda has reduced the price of its Cadbury Dairy Milk advents calendars to just 46p.

Posting on the Hotukdeals website, one shopper said: “Cadbury Dairy Milk advent calendar 46p in Asda Leyton Mills stores.”

We recommend you act quickly with these deals as they will only be available for as long as stock lasts.

You will need to head in-store for these bargains as the advent calendars are still listed at full price on the Asda website.

You can use the Asda store finder to locate your nearest store.

It seems Asda is not the only retailer to slash the price of its advent calendars.

Ocado has bargain calendars in-store with prices starting from 60p.

It’s important to bear in mind that as Ocado is an online supermarket, you’ll have to pay for delivery and there’s a minimum spend of £40.

The online retailer is also selling Roses chocolate tubs for just £2.35 instead of the usual £6 – a saving of £3.65.

Bear in mind that these prices are just a guide and prices change all the time, especially this time of year.

You can use price comparison sites such as Google Shopping and Trolley.co.uk to price-check items across different supermarkets.

The Trolley website searches and compares the prices of 130,000 products across all the major shops.

It means it’s a great way to make sure you’re not missing out on a big saving.

And remember to be quick because some of the offers are only available for a set period.

Remember that the price you see online may not always reflect the price in store, and sometimes you can pick up a better deal by popping down to your local.
